scrambled all the way to his left Youth Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , only to realize that just about everybody wearing a Chiefs helmet was on the opposite side of the field. It was a rookie mistake by the second-year pro, one he turned into more early season magic.Mahomes quickly reversed field against the pursuing San Francisco defense, ran all the way to the other side and threw a dart to Chris Conley in the back of the end zone. It was one of three TD passes he threw in a 38-27 victory over the 49ers on Sunday — and easily the most impressive ."That," Chiefs coach Andy Reid acknowledged with a smile, "was a good one."Mahomes finished with 314 yards passing in his first regular-season start at Arrowhead Stadium, and his touchdown throws to Conley, Demetrius Harris and Sammy Watkins gave him 13 this season without an interception. That total broke the NFL record of 12 for the first three weeks of a season, set by Peyton Manning during the 2013 campaign.More importantly, all those touchdown tosses have the Chiefs 3-0. They are the third team to score at least 38 points in each of the first three games, joining 2007 New England and the 1967 Baltimore Colts."We've got a bunch of weapons," said Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, who added his first two touchdown runs this season, "and Pat is just a competitor. I knew that from the day we met, when we got drafted together. We said one day we were going to take over the Chiefs Kingdom."The Chiefs have clearly found their long-term answer at quarterback. The 49ers? They have a whole lot of questions now.Jimmy Garoppolo left late in the fourth quarter after his left knee buckled during a scramble to the sideline. He was crushed on his throwing shoulder by the Chiefs' Steven Nelson, but the damage was already done, and the 49ers' franchise quarterback was carted off to the locker room."We fear an ACL," 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said. "We'll find out for sure tomorrow."The 49ers (1-2) trailed 35-7 late in the first half before rallying behind Garoppolo White Fred Warner Jersey , who threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns. Matt Breida added 90 yards rushing and Alfred Morris scored on the ground as San Francisco clawed to within 35-24 late in the third quarter. It was still 38-24 when the 49ers produced a grinding, 17-play drive that wiped out more than half the fourth quarter. But it ended in a strange sequence that began with Garoppolo taking the shot from Nelson along the sideline, rather than stepping out of bounds and avoiding the hit."I think that was his fault," said Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston, who was trailing the play. "I pray he's not hurt, it's nothing serious, but as a quarterback you should step out of bounds. It's only an inch. An inch wouldn't have made a difference. You got the yardage. You need to be smart."C.J. Beathard came in on third-and-goal and threw what appeared to be a touchdown pass to George Kittle, but it was wiped out by offensive pass interference with 5:17 left in the game.Rather than go for it on fourth down at the Kansas City 25, Shanahan elected to kick a field goal — keeping it a two-possession game. Then the 49ers kicked it deep rather than try an onside kick, and the Chiefs picked up a first down by penalty before Hunt churned for two more and put the game away."That's our time in the game," Reid said. "You take a lot of pride in it. They're going backward and we're going forward and it's all good."MORE ON GAROPPOLOShanahan acknowledged a quarterback move is likely, though Beathard is line to start next week in Los Angeles. The 49ers' only other QB is Nick Mullins, a member of the practice squad. "I just talked to (Garoppolo) in the training room," Beathard said. "I told him I'll be praying for him and I love him and he just told me to lead these guys."FOSTER'S FRUSTRATION49ers LB Reuben Foster had a rough return from a two-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct and substance abuse policy. Foster was hit with a personal foul for hitting Mahomes as the QB was sliding in the first half, Kelce beat him in pass defense, and the young linebacker left early in the fourth quarter when he was shaken up on a tackle.INJURIES49ers: The defensive backfield was in tatters by the fourth quarter. CB Richard Sherman left with a calf injury, FS Adrian Colbert hurt his ankle and backup CB Tarvarius Moore left with a wrist injury. SS Jaquiski Taylor was already inactive with a shoulder injury.Chiefs: LB Dee Ford left with a groin injury in the fourth quarter. He will have an MRI exam Monday ... Conley briefly left with a right ankle injury Youth Solomon Thomas Jersey , though he returned to make his TD catch. ... SS Eric Berry (heel) remained inactive for the third straight week.UP NEXT49ers: Play the Chargers in Los Angeles next Sunday.Chiefs: Visit the AFC West-rival Broncos next Monday night.Joshua Garnett, Jaquiski Tartt sit out practice, Marquise Goodwin, Ahkello Witherspoon listed as limited The San Francisco 49ers released their first practice participation report of Week 3, and there are some notable names present and missing. As mentioned earlier, Malcolm Smith returned to practice and was not even included in the “full participant” list. That suggests he is 100 percent, and should be good to play this Sunday.Safety Jaquiski Tartt was a DNP after injuring his shoulder late in Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions. Tartt dealt with the shoulder injury previously, so this will be something to monitor. The Thursday session will be key for him getting on the field this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs. If Tartt is limited, that bodes well. If he is a DNP, that would be problematic for the strong safety position. Antone Exum is the reserve strong safety, although conceivably Jimmie Ward could play there as well.Of course, Ward might be needed at cornerback once again. Ahkello Witherspoon struggled and was eventually benched this past weekend, and now is listed as limited with an ankle injury. We’ll have to wait and see what Thursday and Friday bring.Marquise Goodwin was a limited participant as he rehabs his quadricep injury. Meanwhile, Joshua Garnett was a DNP and Mike Person was listed as limited. Person seems set to start Week 3, but Garnett will be one to track on Thursday.

this season with 228 touchdown throws in the first month of the season.Case Keenum hasn't joined the party. The Denver Broncos' new quarterback has just three touchdown passes — none since the opener against Seattle — and his six interceptions are just one shy of the total he had last season in Minnesota.Keenum is the first Broncos QB since John Elway in 1986 to go three consecutive games with 20 throws and zero touchdowns."Is it a concern? Not really 49ers Brock Coyle Jersey ," coach Vance Joseph said Wednesday. "Our concern is winning football games. ... But Case is going to get better and better with time. We're figuring out who we are as an offense. It's a month into the season, I've been proud of how Case is playing."If Keenum throws a touchdown pass Sunday when the Broncos (2-2) visit the Jets (1-3), it'll be his first in 28 days."I don't care how we get into the end zone," Keenum said. "Obviously, I like throwing touchdowns. I like when those guys are running them in, too. We've got two great backs" in rookies Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay."They're doing a great job. But we've got a bunch of targets. Receivers, tight ends, they want to get into the end zone http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-k_waun-williams-jersey , too," Keenum said. "So, whatever it takes. I know the whole team is that way and whatever it takes to score more points than the other team, whether it's run or pass" is the goal. "But yeah, we'd love to get more passes going."Keenum would have had a fourth TD pass to go with his third fourth-quarter comeback for the Broncos had he connected with a wide-open Demaryius Thomas streaking down the sideline Monday night in the final seconds of Denver's 27-23 loss to the Chiefs in which they squandered a 10-point fourth-quarter lead.On third down from the Kansas City 28 with 22 seconds left, Keenum saw the cornerback jam Thomas, then release him to the safeties, both of whom were deep in the end zone.No linebacker to layer to throw over.No safeties to freeze with his eyes.No over-the-shoulder pinpoint pass needed.Just a basic delivery to his big receiver.Keenum stepped up and ... rifled it over Thomas' head .Keenum loved the play call by offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave http://www.the49ersfootballauthentic.com/kyle-juszczyk-jersey-authentic , who's taken some heat for using three-receiver sets without a fullback or tight end on a three-and-out series sandwiched between Patrick Mahomes ' two TD drives that rallied the unbeaten Chiefs."It was a great play call by Bill, trying to take a shot at the end zone and they played two high safeties," Keenum said. "I threw it where I wanted to, just a little high. It was just a little bit off. And that's the game. It's a game of inches. Would I have liked to have that one back? Heck yeah. But I know we're going to make a lot more of those than we don't."So, I gave it my best shot and I can't lose anymore sleep over it," Keenum said. "We've got a lot more games to play. We've got a tough test this week. So, I've squashed it. I've learned from it. I've moved on."Being in all four games with a chance to pull out the win gives Keenum hope he can find his rhythm like he did in leading the Vikings to the NFC championship game last season."We haven't played our best football yet and we've had a chance to win every game," Keenum said. "... I'm excited where we're at. I'm even more excited where we're headed."MARSHALL's MOVEMENTThe Broncos and Brandon Marshall announced a $50 http://www.49erscheapstore.com/kyle-juszczyk-jersey-cheap ,000 commitment to help launch the linebacker's FEEL (Feed and Educate to Empower Leaders) Movement in Denver. The initiative was announced 48 hours after Marshall and Thomas both stood with their teammates during "The Star-Spangled Banner" Monday night after staying inside during the national anthem for the first three games.Marshall, who followed the lead of his college teammate Colin Kaepernick in taking a knee during the national anthem in the past, said he and Thomas felt that they had made their point by continuing to draw attention to social injustice."The protest is just a symbol. The knee is just a symbol. It's not everything. The action, what we do in the community, that's everything," Marshall said. "I definitely think the knee was important to get everybody's attention, but more-so it's about what everyone's doing in the community."Golden Nuggets: Welcome to Week 3 On a Monday Night Football game that I should be dancing around due to the Seattle Seahawks losing, I’m instead depressed. Why? Because I played the Bears defense in fantasy. And Youth Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , my friends, if you’re up by 50 points and playing the Bears defense and Trey Burton, you aren’t going to win that battle. Beyond that, we learned that the Bears game in a few weeks is not going to be as easy as we thought. Not when they have Khalil Mack on payroll. And the Seahawks looked so bad. That score is not indicative of how that game went. Russell Wilson couldn’t escape anything. He had no room to run. Just...what the hell was going on? I’m not sure what to think of all of this, but I’m glad the 49ers rebuilding is a few steps ahead of the Seahawks. Bring on the Chiefs.  to be partners in the rehabilitation process There really aren’t many silver linings when your season ends as a result of an injury but at least Jimmy Garoppolo and Jerick McKinnon will have each other throughout the process. Both 49ers offensive starters will be rehabilitating their surgically repaired ACLs together. McKinnon obviously has a few weeks head start but it was the one positive that Kyle Shanahan pointed out to his injured quarterback on the way back from Kansas City. While this may seem like a little thing http://www.the49ersfootballauthentic.com/pierre-garcon-jersey-authentic , it’s huge to players who have participated in team sports for the majority of their lives. Many athletes express feelings of depression and loneliness as a result of the isolation from their teammates/brothers. Upon his return to the team, Malcolm Smith said rehabbing his torn pectoral was one of the toughest things he has been through in his career. It can leave players feeling like they've let their teammates and fanbases down because they are unable to contribute as they would have liked to. They are working just as hard to recover, sometimes harder, without the gratification of helping their team get a win. Some players end up feeling helpless. Last offseason, the Washington Post interviewed four Washington players who had spent time on injured reserve and their experiences are eye opening. Niles Paul, Shawn Lauvao, Junior Galette and Morgan Moses all shared the challenges that they went through watching games instead of playing in them. The described depression that came fromfeeling purposeless and for some, rehabbing alone. NaVorro Bowman expressed similar feelings having gone through two different major surgeries. He posted pictures and videos of his rehab workouts and they seldom included teammates. Often athletes start the process in disbelief that this could have happened to them, after all Womens Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , they are taught to be warriors on the field of play. It shows them the harsh reality that they are not invincible, but the mental challenges could be the most difficult to overcome. Not only are they separated from the team for much of their rehabbing, once they start participating in the team drills, they have to trust that the repaired body part will remain intact. Being a professional athlete requires a lack of hesitation and confidence that you can physically overcome your opponent. Sometimes the opponent can be your own body. The San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants hold two of the top three spots in the 2019 NFL Draft order, and their Week 10 Monday Night Football contest could tighten them up, or further cement the Giants at the top of the order.Heading into the weekend, the Giants hold the No. 1 pick with a 1-7 record, while the 49ers hold the No. 3 pick with a 2-7 record. However, the latest odds from Football Outsiders offer a slightly different view of things following the 49ers win last week over the Raiders. The 49ers entered last week with the best odds for the No. 1 pick Youth Dustin Hopkins Jersey , followed by the Oakland Raiders. Following the 49ers win over the Raiders, San Francisco dropped to fourth. The Raiders hold the top odds, followed by Arizona and Buffalo, and then the 49ers followed by the Giants. Here are the odds for top overall pick and then a top five pick.1. Oakland Raiders — 37.6%, 87.3%2. Arizona Cardinals — 15.3%, 70.5%3. Buffalo Bills — 12.7%, 69.1%4. San Francisco 49ers — 13.1%, 66.8%5. New York Giants — 12.8%, 57.2%I’m surprised they have the odds they do given their remaining schedule. The NFC East is wide open with some not particularly great teams Rookie Nick Mullens Jersey , but the Giants are rather atrocious. They close out their schedule as follows:@ 49ersvs. Bucs@ Eaglesvs. Bears@ Washingtonvs. Titans@ Coltsvs. CowboysThe Giants will probably win at least one or two games in there, but would anybody be at all surprised if they lost out their remaining schedule? Yes, there could be some surprises, but they are truly an atrocious football team. Not quite Raiders bad, but still bad. It feels like a top pick, or at least a top three pick is well within their reach.

than getting the New York Giants' special teams ready for the opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 45-year-old coordinator has been undergoing treatment for a rare form of cancer that strikes roughly 8 Authentic Eli Manning Jersey ,000 people in the United States annually. It's called Periampullary cancer, a bile duct cancer located near the small intestine. McGaughey has been receiving oral medication and chemotherapy. He is now on his fifth round, and has a couple more left."It's going good," McGaughey said Thursday while disclosing his diagnosis and treatment with the media for the first time.Still, the treatments have left him drained at times. He missed time during organized team activities in the spring. The Giants compensated by asking Tom Quinn, the team's special teams coordinator under Ben McAdoo and Tom Coughlin, to join Pat Shurmur's staff. The thought of taking time away from football and concentrating on his healthy never entered McGaughey's head. He even returns to work as soon as his chemo is finished."As a football coach, you don't think of that stuff," McGaughey said. "You get up. You do what you do Womens Connor Barwin Jersey , and live life. I am not going to let any chemotherapy, cancer or anything else get in the way of what I do. I am a football coach. I am a father, a football coach and that's what I do. I've got to get up every day. Nobody really cares, and they are not going to feel sorry for you. It's get up and go to work."McGaughey isn't the only member of the organization being treated for cancer. General manager Dave Gettleman was diagnosed with lymphoma this spring."We share our chemotherapy stories, and talk about the medication, and that stuff," McGaughey said with a smile. "We definitely have our conversations. Dave's a great man and it is what it is. We just have to fight through it and keep it moving."McGaughey said a scan of his system three weeks ago was fine.McGaughey said the cancer was discovered by good fortune after he had two bouts with sepsis, a condition that happens when the body's response to infection causes injury to its own tissues and organs.Doctors performed an endoscopy and found a growth in his bile duct."They removed it," McGaughey said. "I had a very extensive procedure called a Whipple Procedure Authentic Ray-Ray Armstrong Jersey , and during the Whipple they found a cancer on one of my lymph nodes and I have been undergoing chemotherapy for the last about two months."Shurmur said Quinn was brought to help McGaughey on the "tough" days. However, he said McGaughey is handling everything."T-Mac has been doing a great job and he has our guys ready to play," Shurmur said. The one question that made McGaughey laugh was when he was asked what his thoughts would be if Shurmur let rookie Saquon Barkley handle the kickoff returns and Odell Beckham Jr. run the punts back."Thank God," McGaughey said. "These guys are playmakers and any time you get a chance to put a playmaker on the field and give you the best chance to win, you know, that's what you want to do. You are trying to win the game. That's the purpose of it."NOTES: LB Olivier Vernon missed another practice with the ankle injury and he is looking doubtful for the opener. ... Defensive coordinator James Bettcher says if Vernon can play a number of people will fill his role with Connor Barwin and rookie Lorenzo Carter, the most likely. ... Offensive coordinator Mike Shula on what he saw in rookie quarterback Kyle Lauletta. "We think Kyle is a young guy that just has continued to get better with reps. He's got very good football intelligence. I think he's got some intangibles that you need at that position." I wrote earlier this week that “the Giants organization can’t be very happy with Beckham right now.” Well, New York Giants co-owner John Mara proved on Tuesday that he is, indeed www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com , not happy with superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.Sadly, in a 1-5 mess of a season, what Beckham is doing off the field is gathering more attention than what he has been doing on it.Beckham’s ESPN comments have proven divisive. The Giants made him stand in front of his team and explain them, then fined them for the remarks. After which he went on Facebook and said he was “not going to apologize for my heart” and “I don’t feel like it’s necessary for me to apologize for how I feel.”The owner obviously isn’t happy with a player he just handed a $95 million contract. The player doesn’t appear happy with the situation he signed up for, though he’s certainly happy with the money. The head coach who went out of his way to build a rapport with Beckham has made it apparent that he feels burned by the wide receiver.None of this is good. No matter what side you’re on. Reality is, the idea that there are sides to choose is a big part of the problem. Here’s more from Mara, via @judybattista:

Week 4 NFL picks http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-patrick-omameh-jersey , , use this for your non-Giants games open thread. After a good start to the season, two losing weeks have not been fun. There were a lot of weird games last week, so this week will maybe help show if some of those were just flukes or if we were wrong about some teams over the first two weeks of the season. Remember these picks are strictly for fun and entertainment purposes and please for your sake do not take these picks as gambling advice. Lines used here come from the Westgate Las Vegas via OddsShark. Home team in CAPS.Minnesota (+7) over RAMSThe Rams are probably the best team in the league — they’re first in DVOA and point differential — and the Vikings just did鈥?I don’t know what the Vikings just did against the Bills. But this is a weird Thursday night game, the Rams will be without Aqib Talib and possibly Marcus Peters at cornerback. Against Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, that’s no bueno. Minnesota might also have a defense that can hang with the Rams offense. I’d still probably pick the Rams to win, but seven points is a lot.UPDATE: there were a lot of points here, but it ended up as a draw against the spread. 0-0-1 for the week.Philadelphia (-4) over TENNESSEETennessee might be the weirdest team in the league. They lose a crazy marathon game to the Dolphins in Week 1, then beat the Texans by barely throwing the ball, then beat the Jaguars in a game with almost no points that saw their injured starting quarterback play significantly more than the backup who started the game. Despite all that, Titans are still just 24th in DVOA and the Eagles are better in just about every way. GREEN BAY (-9.5) over BuffaloWhat the hell, Buffalo? There was a point it felt we had to adjust stats for teams that played against the Bills, then they go and blow out the Vikings. But still, we have a two-game sample of the Bills being the worst team in the league and one being very opportunistic. Outside of Tre’Davious White, the Buffalo defense has been a disappointment and it’s not going to take much more than that to pick Aaron Rodgers by a lot in this game.Detroit (+3) over DALLASThe Dallas offense is pitiful, there’s really no way around it. Even with the lack of receivers Aldrick Rosas Jersey , the offense should be better than this. Detroit maybe figured out a winning formula against New England and there’s little to suggest they won’t be able to take advantage of whatever is going on in Dallas right now.CHICAGO (-3) over Tampa BayThere hasn’t been a better defense in the league so far than the Chicago Bears. There have been few better offenses than the Buccaneers. The one way to slow down Ryan Fitzpatrick (if he’s the starter) is to force him into turnovers and that’s something the Bears can do. Chicago matches up really well on that side of the ball, which will be important while they still figure out what they can and can’t do on offense.Jets (+7.5) over JACKSONVILLEDominating New England and then not being able to do anything against Tennessee is quite the two-week stretch for Jacksonville. The Jaguars defense should be able to handle the Jets’ offense, but the Jets are second in defensive DVOA and second in special teams DVOA, which could keep this game closer than some (the line) would anticipate.NEW ENGLAND (-6.5) over MiamiThe Patriots can have slow Septembers, even though this feels like one of the slowest of the Brady-Belichick era. Still, it’s the Brady-Belichick era and expecting back-to-back letdown games from New England is expecting lightning to strike twice. Miami is surprisingly top-10 in all three phases of the game by DVOA, but even with that it’s hard to pick against the Pats.INDIANAPOLIS (-1) over Houston炉\_(銉?_/炉Cincinnati (+5.5) over ATLANTAThe Bengals offense can put up points. So can the Falcons offense. But the Cincinnati defense has a much bigger advantage over the Atlanta defense as currently constructed. It feels weird to say, but don’t be surprised if the Bengals can hang in a potential shootout with the Falcons.Seattle (-3) over ARIZONAIt’s Josh Rosen time, which is nice. But unless the Cardinals have figured out they need to completely change the structure of the offense along with the quarterback, there’s not a lot of immediate hope for an instant improvement. As much as the Seahawks have changed over personnel on defense, they still rank sixth in defensive DVOA through three weeks.Cleveland (+2.5) over OAKLANDAll aboard the Baker train. Oakland is 31st in defensive DVOA, nearly the perfect defense for Mayfield to make his first start. He was so calm and collected against the Jets and a full week of prep for him as the starter can absolutely yield great results.CHARGERS (-10) over San FranciscoAs much as the Chiefs and Buccaneers have gotten talked about as the top offense, no team has gained 20 or more yards on a higher percentage of their offensive plays than the Chargers. San Francisco has some injuries on defense and will be starting C.J. Beathard at quarterback. That’s really all you need to know.New Orleans (-3.5) over GIANTSThere’s going to be a lot written about this game (and already has) on this site. So I’ll make this brief: it’s hard to imagine the Giants winning a potential shootout here. Baltimore (+3) over PITTSBURGHThe Ravens have a top-5 defense and an offense that’s been much more passable than it has in the past. Pittsburgh can still put up the yards and points with the best of them, but the defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone through the first three weeks of the season. With the quarterback selections recently, we’re moving toward a time when the AFC North matchups are going to be more Big 12 than 1980’s. How this game plays out could be a good test in how close we are to that.Kansas City (-5.5) over DENVERKansas City is scoring on 53 percent of their offensive drives. They’re also allowing scores on 48 percent of their opponents’ drives, but 53 > 48. Everything about the Kansas CIty offense has been perfect so far. It’s spread out to give Patrick Mahomes open reads and he’s good enough to take advantage of them. It’s more than enough for the Chiefs to have the advantage every time they get themselves into a shootout Youth Patrick Omameh Jersey , which has been just about every game this season.Last week: 6-10Season: 19-27-2 [Note: Feel free to use this page the place for you non-Giants open thread on Sunday]Back on the right side of .500 鈥?for the week. The season is another story. But an above .500 week was nice to see after the tire fire of a Thursday night game — Arizona +1 was a bust almost from the opening kickoff. But, hey, we’re still trying and we never said these picks were going to be great. They’re just picks and continue to pick we shall.Remember these picks are strictly for fun and entertainment purposes and please for your sake do not take these picks as gambling advice. Lines used here come from the Westgate Las Vegas via OddsShark. Home team in CAPS.HOUSTON (-7.5) over MiamiHouston’s at the top of the AFC South, but has yet to play particularly well. Miami is super weird — 26th in Variance, per Football Outsiders, which means from week-to-week you don’t really know what you’re going to get. The Dolphins are starting Brock Osweiler again and won’t have Albert Wilson against a Texans defense that looks like its forming into one of the best in the league. Miami might not even be able to take advantage of Houston’s biggest weakness — the offensive line. The Dolphins have one of the worst pressure rates on defense and they rank 29th in adjusted sack rate.[Update: This hit, 1-0 for the week]Philadelphia (-3) over Jacksonville (in London)Both of these teams are disappointing relative to preseason expectations this season — but for this game, one of them doesn’t have Blake Bortles. At any point, Bortles could turn into a quarterback who is fine, but boy has that not been the case in the past few weeks. The Eagles really dominated the Panthers for like three and a half quarters before pulling out last-minute loss. Philadelphia might not be great, but they should be good enough to get back on track here.KANSAS CITY (-10) over DenverDenver is second is pass defense DVOA, but it’s just so damn hard to have Patrick Mahomes or Andy Reid to make a mistake. New England almost got there for a half, then the Chiefs adjusted. Mahomes is only throwing into tight coverage on 10 percent of his throws, the lowest-rate among starters in the league, but he’s also throwing some of the deepest passes in the league on average — during the offseason, I found most “separation” happens on shorter routes Aldrick Rosas Jersey , so for these open throws to happen down the field is a master class in scheming. CHICAGO (-7) over JetsThese are two defenses that have been good — first (CHI) and ninth (NYJ) in DVOA but were rough in their last game. Chicago should have a better pass rush and a better schemed offense, whether Mitchell Turbisky can take full advantage or not. But even with a quarterback question, the Bears are way more talented on that side of the ball, which should push this game in their favor.Cleveland (+8.5) over PITTSBURGHThis was a 21-21 tie in Week 1 when Tyrod Taylor was still the starter for the Browns. Since then Cleveland has gone to Baker Mayfield, who has been better, but the offense is still a work in progress. Meanwhile the Steelers have gotten a little better, but nowhere near one of the bets teams in the league they were expected to be at the start of the season. A really good Browns defense could be what keeps this close again.Baltimore (-2.5) over CAROLINAThe Ravens have the one legitimately good defense in the NFL. They have the lowest ANY/A against (4.7) and a 10.0 percent sack rate. Carolina has won a few games without looking particularly impressive and the defensive unit that has been good in years past just hasn’t been there yet. Baltimore should have the advantage on both sides of the ball and if not, the advantage they have on defense greatly outweighs everything else.Washington (-1) over GIANTSHow this line is still only Washington by one is puzzling. At least that was the case on Wednesday when this was written. Washington hasn’t been great this season and there have been real puzzling performances like against New Orleans, but there have been some flashes of good on both sides of the ball.Seattle (+3) over DETROITThe Seahawks have been a sneaky good team this season. They’re 10th in overall DVOA and fourth in defensive DVOA. The offense is what’s lacking — 20th in DVOA — but it’s still a unit led by Russell Wilson, if they let him. Detroit’s been coming together a little from the disastrous start of the season, but Seattle is still the better team right now.CINCINNATI (-4.5) over Tampa BayIt’s been a bit of a bummer of a few weeks for the Bengals. Two weeks ago they were 4-1, then they ran into the Steelers and the steamroller known as the Chiefs. Now they’re only 4-3. A blowout loss never looks good, but Cincinnati should still be considered better than that. Tampa Bay is going to continue to be a team that allows a lot of points and when the Bengals face a defense like that, they have the offensive pieces to take advantage.Indianapolis (-3) over OAKLANDWe saw last week the Colts are able to beat up on bad opponents when given the opportunity and we can safely say the Raiders are a bad opponent. Indianapolis is much better than a 2-5 record would indicate — the defense has been a pleasant surprise — and Oakland might be worse than its 1-5. The Raiders rank no better than 21st in any area, just lost Marshawn Lynch to injured reserve, Amari Cooper to the Cowboys Authentic Rhett Ellison Jersey , and spent the week using energy on a whole bunch of dumb stuff off the field. That’s not a team you pick to win a game. San Francisco (PK) over ARIZONAI had higher hopes for Arizona on Thursday night. The defense had started to click just because of the talent on it and then bam, the Broncos happened pretty quickly. Rosen is the better quarterback in this game and the Cardinals should have the better defense, but until they show any of that can come together for a full game, it’s safer to stay away, though I do have some hope for a Byron Leftwich coordinated offense.RAMS (-9.5) over Green BayThere aren’t many scenarios where I’d feel comfortable spotting an Aaron Rodgers opponent nearly 10 points, but guys, have you seen these Rams play? They’re nearly schematically perfect on offense and the defense has been getting more pressure off the edge and from players not named Aaron Donald, though that guy is still doing pretty well. The Rams are first in net yards per drive at plus-14.37 (only one other team is above plus-10 and third place is at plus-5.51) and first in net points per drive (1.28). I will pick them to win until proven otherwise.New Orleans (PK) over MINNESOTANeither of these teams are what they were in the NFC Championship Game, but this should still be a good, close game. New Orleans easy has the most dominant unit in this matchup — the offense — and that should be what gives them the advantage here. The Vikings’ defensive strength this season has been forcing three-and-outs (first in three-and-outs per drive), but after that, they’ll let teams drive down for at least a field goal. It’s just too hard to rely on forcing Drew Brees into a three-and-out.New England (-14) over BUFFALOI’m not sure what the point spread would have to be for me to consider Buffalo, who right now has the worst offensive ever tracked by DVOA through seven weeks. I do know that spread is not 14 points.Last week: 7-6-1Season: 48-54-5

He has thrown 10 interceptions this season after returning from a three-game suspension.“I’ve just got to fix it,” Winston said. But does he get the chance?Fitzpatrick brought the Bucs back from an 18-point deficit to tie the game with 1:05 remaining. He completed 11 of 15 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals won on a last-play field goal. The Bucs set a team record with 576 total yards, but they scored a total of 13 points on their first five trips inside the Bengals’ 30-yard line. Winston threw two interceptions and the Bucs settled for two field goals to go with a touchdown on those five possessions.Koetter said he considered yanking Winston earlier in the game but left him in after Winston threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson with 4:36 remaining in the second quarter. The Buccaneers are returning from their bye week with a 2-2 record. Speaking of records, wide receiver Mike Evans is breaking all sorts of them this year. When Tampa Bay hits Atlanta on Sunday for a pivotal divisional matchup, Evans and a few others are looking to work their way up in the franchise’s record book. Let’s see where things stand heading into week six:Career Receiving YardsEvans has 5,005 receiving yards in his career Womens Chris Conte Jersey , which places him second in team history. He is just 14 yards away from owning the franchise record (currently held by Mark Carrier). Career ReceptionsEvans is at 338 receptions, which has him in second all-time. He is 93 away from owning the top spot that is held by James Wilder.Career Passing YardsWith Jameis Winston getting some reps in the Bucs’ week four loss, he added to his career stats a bit. He is set to start Sunday, meaning he has a chance to continue his climb to the top of the quarterback categories. He is fifth in passing yards right now with 11,781. He needs 868 to pass Doug Williams (12,648) for fourth. He could get a chunk of those on Sunday against a struggling Atlanta defense.Career Passing TouchdownsWith his touchdown pass against the Bears, Winston tied Trent Dilfer for fourth in franchise history with 70. One on Sunday against the Falcons would give him sole possession of fourth, while three would tie him for third with Doug Williams (73). Four would bring him into third place all by himself.Career CompletionsWinston is fifth in completions with 955, needing 86 to pass Brad Johnson for fourth in Buccaneer history.Career Passing AttemptsAt 1,564 passing attempts, Winston is sixth all-time. He passes Brad Johnson (1,683) with 120 more. One more would give him sole possession of 14th and three would get him to 13th all by himself. Peyton Barber is tied for 25th with four rushing touchdowns. One would tie him for 20th and two would tie him for 16th.Jacquizz Rodgers is tied for 29th with three. One would tie him with Barber and three others for 25th, while two would tie him with five players for 20th.Career TacklesLavonte David is slowly climbing. Not me, I can tell you that. Regardless, the Buccaneers are headed into a Monday night tilt with the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers after knocking off the defending champs Authentic DeSean Jackson Jersey , 27-21.Ryan Fitzpatrick had a historic showing behind another solid performance from the offensive line. Defensively, the Bucs did enough to limit Philadelphia despite Nick Foles throwing for 334 yards and a touchdown.Winners1. Ryan FitzpatrickWhat more can you say about Fitzmagic? He has been nothing short of spectacular through two games and history is backing that up. Fitzpatrick became the first quarterback in NFL history to have back-to-back games with 400+ yards and four touchdown passes. He’s totaled 819 yards and eight touchdowns with just one interception while completing 78.7% of his passes. And I’m not even mentioning the biggest stat, two wins. Obviously, Fitzpatrick will have to come down to earth again eventually, but he didn’t against the Eagles. He tossed two 75-yard touchdown passes while leading Tampa Bay to 436 yards of total offenses against one of the top defenses in the league.2. Receiving CorpsYes, this winners and losers is starting to mirror the one from a week ago, but the Bucs receiving corps was money again on Sunday. DeSean Jackson is leading the NFL in receiving yards after hauling in four passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. He scored on Tampa Bay’s first offensive play and was a big-play threat throughout the game. The chemistry between Fitzpatrick and Jackson has been on full display throughout the first two weeks.Outside of a fumble and drop, Mike Evans turned in another good performance, hauling in 10 of his 12 targets for 83 yards and a score. OJ Howard had a 75-yard catch and run where Chris Godwin fought hard downfield to seal off an Eagles defender from making a tackle. And then Godwin caught a touchdown later in the same half. Fitzpatrick has played great but his receivers are making things even easier on him. 3. Kwon AlexanderThe heart and soul of the Buccaneers defense turned in another consistent outing against Philadelphia on Sunday. Kwon Alexander tied for third on the team with seven tackles Adam Humphries Jersey , three tackles for loss, and one of the teams three sacks on the afternoon. The sack was his most impressive play of the day as Alexander blitzed on a passing down and hit Foles as he tried to throw. The ball fell out of Foles hands and bounced downfield before rookie Carlton Davis recovered it. Alexander has staked his claim as one of the top linebackers in the league through the first two weeks of 2018.Losers1. Rushing offenseTampa Bay was excellent through the air on Sunday but the offense has to become more consistent running the ball to keep defenses honest moving forward. The Buccaneers totaled just 43 yards on 23 rushing attempts in the win against the Eagles. And when it came down to it, they weren’t successful running the ball in the clutch. After Philadelphia scored to cut its deficit to six, the Bucs needed to run off as much clock as possible. With three timeouts, Tampa Bay needed to pound the rock and force the Eagles to use them.Peyton Barber would run six times on the eight-play drive, netting a loss of one yard. That can’t continue to happen throughout the season. 2. Second half defenseAs a whole, the Buccaneers defense was solid in the opening half of the game. They limited Philadelphia’s big plays and came up with stops at the right times. However, they left much to be desired over the final 30 minutes.Foles and the Eagles offense exploited some of Tampa Bay’s aggressiveness with screens and short passes which led to some of their success. However, that’s an area that the Bucs obviously need to work on after Alvin Kamara’s performance in week one.Going forward Demar Dotson Jersey , the most important thing is the development of the young defensive backfield and the health of starting cornerback Brent Grimes. It’d also be a boost for this team to get Vita Vea back on the inside. 3. Jameis WinstonI’m reaching for threads here, I know. But could Fitzpatrick and the Buccaneers hot start force Dirk Koetter to reevaluate the teams plans at quarterback? This offense has exploded behind the arm and decision making of the 35-year-old journeyman. I mean, he’s been historically great according to the numbers thus far. Obviously, Jameis Winston is the future of this franchise going forward. But if Fitzpatrick continues to play well and Tampa Bay continues to win, can you really pull him out? DeSean Jackson doesn’t think so, “Honestly man, he’s playing on fire right now, and the way the team is rallying behind him and just playing lights out football you have to kind of honor it. You can’t take the hot man out.”

On Sunday www.authenticsclevelandbrowns.com , take on the New Orleans Saints. To help preview a few topics from the Saints’ perspective, we reached out to Christopher Dunnells from Canal Street Chronicles and exchanged five questions with him. Enjoy! The Saints saw Bucs receivers getting behind them early and often in Week 1.Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty ImagesPokorny: “I’m sure the Saints allowing 48 points to the Bucs last week was just as surprising to you as it was the rest of the league. Was the Saints’ secondary the biggest culprit?”Dunnells: “I think you would start the finger-pointing by looking at the defensive line. No matter how good the secondary is (although they admittedly struggled mightily as a unit in Week 1), opposing wide receivers are eventually going to get open when the quarterback has all day to throw. When there is absolutely no pass rush to speak of for the Saints, it’s hard to expect the secondary to maintain coverage that long. As the defensive line play improves, so should the rest of the Saints defense. Hopefully, for the Saints and their fans, Alex Okafor returns to form, Cam Jordan shows why he’s a Pro Bowl caliber DE, and Marcus Davenport continues to show improvement rushing the passer.”The Saints are being patient with first-round pick Marcus Davenport.Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty ImagesPokorny: “The Saints drafted DE Marcus Davenport with the 14th overall pick of this year’s draft, and New Orleans paid a premium to move up to get him. I see he only played 35% of the snaps in Week 1. How has he been this preseason and in his debut?”Dunnells: “Marcus Davenport was never drafted to be a Week 1 starter, in spite of the high price the Saints paid to move up in the 1st Round of the 2018 NFL Draft to select him. Instead, Davenport is a raw project with all of the potential in the world. He was held out of the start of the preseason due to injury, but was able to show bursts of what made the Saints value him so highly in Week 1. He had a great sack of Ryan Fitzpatrick that was erroneously ruled a roughing the passer penalty and showed amazing speed (did you know he runs a 40 faster than many of the Saints offensive players, including Mark Ingram?) to pursue sweeping runs from the back side. As long as Saints fans can be patient with his growth and development, Davenport should be just fine.”Well, hello there, Carl Nassib.Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty ImagesPokorny: “According to PFF, ‘The Saints’ offensive line was one of the best in the NFL when it came to protecting Brees in 2017, but the unit struggled against Tampa Bay’s strengthened defensive line on Sunday afternoon.’ I only see one sack allowed by the Saints, and plenty of offense. Would you agree that the line struggled? Either way, which position on the line is the weakest?”Dunnells: “I would disagree mightily that the Saints offensive line struggled in pass protection in Week 1. Just watching the game live, it seemed Drew Brees had plenty of time to make reads and get rid of the ball. Granted, he often was able to take advantage of the first read in his progression and got rid of the ball quickly, but he didn’t seem rushed Cleveland Browns T-Shirt , hurried, or hit often. The offensive line as a unit, when healthy, is pretty strong across the board. The problem is with the “when healthy” part, though. In Week 1, Andrus Peat sat due to injury in favor of Josh LeRibeus, who filled in admirably in Peat’s absence. Still, Peat’s spot at left guard was definitely the weakest spot in the line. In Week 2, Peat looks to be ready to make his season debut, so the Saints should have an entire healthy group up front. When healthy, the weakest player might still be Peat, but that’s saying something when your former first round pick (who is a solid contributor in both pass protection and run blocking) is the ‘worst’ of the bunch.”Ted Ginn is still going strong.Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty ImagesPokorny: “Michael Thomas posted an incredible stat line to open the year -- 16 catches (on 17 targets) for 180 yards and 1 touchdown. Alvin Kamura can hurt teams in a lot of ways too. After those two weapons, is Ted Ginn the next best thing the team has to offer? If so, do fans find that ‘good enough?’”Dunnells: “Eh. Maybe Ginn. Maybe Benjamin Watson at TE, who is definitely one of Drew’s most trusted options when a big reception is needed to move the chains. But when everyone is healthy and going right, I would say the #3 option in the passing attack is going to wind up being WR Cameron Meredith (formerly of the Chicago Bears) or WR Tre’Quan Smith (rookie out of UCF). Then there’s also RB Mark Ingram, who the Saints should have back by Week 5. Between Watson, Ginn, Meredith, Ingram, and Smith, on top of Thomas and Kamara, the Saints offense has plenty of weapons for Drew Brees - who doesn’t need many.”LB Alex Anzalone has played well for the Saints when given a chance.Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty ImagesPokorny: “Tell us about one player who Browns fans might not know much about, but who appears to be playing (or trying to play) a key role for the Saints this year.”Dunnells: “The aforementioned Tre’Quan Smith would be a good one Cleveland Browns Hats , but let’s go with LB Alex Anzalone. He’s in his second season in the NFL, but only played in a few games in 2017 after getting placed on season-ending IR. He’s a little light in the pads at only 238 lbs and he has a tendency to make poor reads in coverage, but he’s incredibly fast for a linebacker and athletic enough to make plays on the ball when he’s cover opposing receivers. The Saints still aren’t 100% sure who makes up their starting linebacking corps, but Anzalone definitely fits into the puzzle somewhere. If he can take a step forward in 2018, the Saints should have another young and promising defender to build around.”Thanks again to Chris for taking the time to answer my questions. The Cleveland Browns have received little to no respect from the officials this season. It started in Week 1, when a roughing the passer call against defensive end Myles Garrett wiped out a key third-down stop. The league later admitted the call was wrong, but little good that did the Browns. The questionable calls have continued on a weekly basis, from a negated strip sack and reversed first-down call in Oakland, a non-call on a blatant defensive holding against wide receiver Jarvis Landry against the Baltimore Ravens and, perhaps most blatantly, a non-call on the most obvious false start in NFL history last Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. It may have taken six weeks, but Garrett has had enough and vented his frustrations on Friday, according to Mary Kay Cabot at cleveland.com:Garrett has grown into not only an impact player on the field, but a team leader off the field. It is also nice to see a player finally speak up about the ongoing issues with the officiating.Normally those type of comments are delivered by the head coach, however, and not a second-year player. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had no trouble questioning the officials recently - and that came after a win! After all, if the head coach is not going to advocate for his team, who is?Browns head coach and self-proclaimed CEO Hue Jackson has certainly had more than his share of opportunities to speak up through the media, most notably after the game against the Raiders, when he had this to say about the officiating, according to clevelandbrowns.com:Thankfully for the Browns, Garrett is there to fill the void left by the head coach.Hopefully someone at the NFL office is listening.
