Opponents tend to freak out against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick just when they’re about to conquer the New England Patriots’ dynastic duo. The Philadelphia Eagles swear they won’t fall into that trap if they have the chance in Super Bowl 52.

The pair have built such a reputation of coming through in the clutch that foes often outthink themselves with conservative Authentic Chase Edmonds Jersey , uncommon or unconventional calls against the five-time champs.

Think Seattle in Super Bowl 49 and Atlanta in Super Bowl 51.

The Patriots have built an extreme confidence through five Super Bowl-winning seasons under Brady and Belichick and are disciplined when other teams get discombobulated, like last month when they sniffed out Ben Roethlisberger’s fake spike and intercepted him in the end zone, reshaping the AFC playoff picture.

”You’re basically talking about experience and knowing that no matter what the score is, it’s not insurmountable,” said ex-NFL quarterback Joe Theismann.

He pointed to Brady’s habit of making a few plays every game that swing momentum and Belichick’s knack for coaxing his counterparts into beating themselves – like the Indianapolis Colts did with their fake punt fiasco in 2015.

”The New England Patriots find a way to make a play when no one else seems to be able to do that,” Theismann said. ”Teams that haven’t been in that situation don’t really understand the ability of New England teams to be able to overcome darn near anything.”

Like the 25-point second-half deficit Brady rallied the Patriots from in last year’s Super Bowl or the 10-point fourth-quarter hole he dug them out of against Jacksonville in the AFC championship last week.

”You’ve got to play a damn near perfect game against them,” lamented Jaguars safety Jarrod Wilson.

Therein lies the trap.

The Jaguars were on the verge of knocking off New England when a flurry of follies in Foxborough aided Brady’s two-TD rally that sent the seemingly impervious Patriots back to another Super Bowl.

”You can never have a safe lead with (No.) 12 at the helm,” Jaguars safety Tashaun Gipson said. ”… That’s Tom Brady Seahawks Byron Maxwell Jersey , the greatest to ever lace up the cleats at the quarterback position.”

And Belichick, arguably the best to ever roam the sideline.

The Eagles swear they’re not going to give the Patriots any help next Sunday in Minneapolis.

”You know what? If I make this all about them, we’re in trouble,” coach Doug Pederson said. ”Honestly. We’re in trouble. Everything’s going to be written about it, has been written about it, talked about it, discussed, debated and it’s about us. And I’ll keep saying that. It’s about what we do and how well we execute and I can’t worry about that.”

The Eagles (15-3) Cheap Isaiah Oliver Jersey , who statistically can make the case for being the best opponent Brady and Belichick have ever faced in the Super Bowl, don’t see themselves getting out of their comfort zone against New England (15-3).

”Doug is going to do what got us to this point,” right tackle Lane Johnson said. ”Just because you’re in a big stage doesn’t mean you have to do anything out of the ordinary to make bigger plays. Don’t make the moment bigger than what it is.”

The Patriots may need no assistance but that hasn’t stopped teams from helping them out like Jacksonville did last week with a delay penalty coming out of a timeout and a rushed punt that essentially gave Brady an extra timeout before halftime.

”I think why the Patriots are so good is because they capitalize off people making those mistakes,” Johnson said. ”They don’t make mistakes, hardly. They’re well-coached. You don’t necessarily have to be the most talented team. You saw last year they weren’t the most talented team. Yet, they’re the best team because they function together well and they’re coached well.”

New England safety Duron Harmon said the Patriots never panic like so many other teams because they rehearse adversity so well and so often in practice.

”We go over every type of situation that you can think of,” Harmon said.

Theismann said Belichick is simply the best at teaching ”if somebody’s going to beat us, they’re going to have to beat us; we’re not going to beat ourselves.”

”What New England does is New England preaches discipline and understanding your job Authentic Troy Apke Jersey ,” Theismann said, singling out lieutenants Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia in addition to Belichick, who, along with his personnel assistants, identifies coachable players who fit in.

”Think about it: You never see Bill Belichick run up the sideline and call a timeout because the time clock’s running out,” Theismann said. ”You don’t see Bill’s players making those kids of errors. I mean, I was very fortunate to play for Joe Gibbs and Joe was the same type of game manager, where he was aware and he made me aware of all the possible circumstances and situations that you deal with.

”For example Authentic Mike White Jersey , when you’re coming out of your own end zone, if you’re backed up inside your own 3-yard line, it’s a great time to run a hard count because you’re only going to get a yard and a-half penalty. Instead of first-and-10, it’s going to be first-and-11. But you do have the possibility of making it first-and-5.

”There is a game within the game that the Patriots play better than anybody.”

Deshaun Watson is the next Russell Wilson.

The rookie quarterback is off to a sensational start for the Houston Texans. He has thrown more touchdown passes (19) in his first seven games than anyone in NFL history.

Watson nearly led the Texans to a victory over Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks Authentic Geron Christian Jersey , throwing for 402 yards and four TDs in a 41-38 loss. But Wilson rallied the Seahawks to a last-minute win.

Wilson has already won a Super Bowl and has led his team to the playoffs five straight seasons.

NASHVILLE http://www.neworleanssaintsteamonlines.com/tre_quan-smith-jersey , Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans believe they got the defensive wake-up call needed from one of the worst losses in franchise history.

A month ago in Houston, the Titans simply could not stop the Texans. They gave up four drives of 73 yards or longer and were stuck on the field for nearly 40 minutes in a performance that easily is their worst this season. The only defensive wins that day came from holding Houston to three field goals and one interception.

”After the Houston game, we all kind of looked ourselves in the mirror and said, `That’s not our standard Cheap Tracy Walker Jersey , and we never want to display or put that on film again,”’ Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Orakpo said. ”And it’s really elevated our game.”

Article continues below ...

It sure has.

Since that 57-14 loss in Houston on Oct. 1 , the Titans have been among the NFL’s stingiest defenses ranking third giving up 253 yards per game behind only Carolina (246) and Minnesota (246.3). The Titans also are fifth against the run (83.7 yards) and the pass (169.3 yards).

The Titans also have allowed 15.7 points per game over the past month, sixth-fewest in the league. That includes four touchdowns – two allowed by the defense over Tennessee’s three games. Only Jacksonville has allowed fewer TDs with only one allowed in three games. Tennessee is coming off a season-low in points allowed in a 12-9 overtime win at Cleveland on Oct. 23 .

For the season http://www.detroitlionsteamonline.com/sylvester-williams-jersey , nobody’s been better at limiting big pass plays than Tennessee, which has allowed only one TD pass of 20 yards or longer this season. The Titans are tied with Minnesota giving up only 16 pass completions of 20 yards or longer.

”We all just settled down and started playing more responsible football,” Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jurrell Casey said Wednesday. ”Everybody just executing their jobs and doing their assignments. That’s all it takes in this game of football, everybody doing their job and the right thing. At the end of the day Authentic Christian Kirk Jersey , you never want to be embarrassed like that.”

Now the Titans (4-3) are rested coming off their bye with safety Johnathan Cyprien closer to returning from a hamstring injured in the opener.

The Ravens (4-4) visit Sunday in a game that should be a defensive showcase. Baltimore leads the NFL in passing defense giving up 146.8 yards per game and eighth in total defense over the past month.

”They play well as a group, they’re obviously very well-coached,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of the Titans. ”Great system, coach (Dick) LeBeau is one of the best ever at what he does http://www.detroitlionsteamonline.com/tracy-walker-jersey , and it’s reflected in the way these guys play.”

The Titans used the bye to remind themselves of what they need to do better. Casey said execution and consistency is key. Orakpo pointed to better tackling to limit yards after contact. They could use more sacks with only 11 through seven games after finishing with 40 a year ago. Tennessee had 20 through seven games in 2016.

Orakpo said the Titans have been pass rushing well with 102 quarterback pressures as proof of how close they are getting.

”They’ll come,” Orakpo said of sacks.

Linebacker Wesley Woodyard said the Titans responded to the wakeup call and now face the next challenge of continuing to play just as well.

”Now it’s the most important time,” Woodyard said. ”You’re remembered by what you do in November and December.”

Notes: Neither Titans QB Marcus Mariota and RB DeMarco Murray were on the injury report Wednesday. WR Corey Davis (hamstring) and Cyprien practiced fully. LG Quinton Spain (turf toe) and TE Delanie Walker (ankle) did not practice.

ENGLEWOOD Authentic Courtland Sutton Jersey , Colo. (AP) Todd Davis has grown accustomed to following fellow inside linebacker Brandon Marshall’s lead.

Like Marshall, Davis has excelled in Denver after getting cut multiple times by another NFL team.

Like Marshall, Davis is the team’s Ed Block Courage Award recipient, winning it this year, two years after Marshall.

Article continues below ...

Like Marshall, Davis is positioned to cash in on free agency, too.

”I’m definitely rooting for him. I know he will,” Marshall said. ”It just depends on where and how much.”

Marshall Authentic Brian Allen Jersey , the Broncos’ 2015 Ed Block recipient, signed a four-year, $32,000 deal as a restricted free agent before last season.

Davis is heading to unrestricted free agency this offseason.

Although the players are expecting massive roster turnover following their second straight season without a playoff berth, Marshall is pulling for Davis to stay in Denver.

The two have developed a great chemistry together. Marshall leads the team in tackles this year with 101 and Davis is second with 78 despite missing two games with injuries.

”I hope he stays, but it’s a tough league,” Marshall said. ”We’ve been losing, so that makes it even tougher. So Authentic Quenton Nelson Jersey , we’ll see what happens.”

Added Davis: ”I love Denver, we’ll see how everything goes.”

While players would rather be high draft picks than afterthoughts, Marshall said it means more to sign a lucrative second contract than a big rookie deal because those are based on potential instead of performance.

”Yeah, on what we’ve done,” Marshall said. ”Absolutely, we’ve proven ourselves and they pay us as such. So, it’s definitely better to happen in your second contract that your first.”

Davis was cut several times by the New Orleans Saints before coming to Denver, just like Marshall was cut many times by the Jacksonville Jaguars before making a name for himself with the Broncos.

”I think that’s one of the things that bonds us together so close Authentic Mike Gesicki Jersey ,” Davis said. ”I think that his story is very similar to mine and we definitely both know what it means to be sitting at home or unsure of your football future. I think that’s why we work so hard together and work so well together, it’s because we really understand each other.”

Marshall concurs, saying, ”Absolutely, we have things in common and that definitely helps. Todd’s a hard-working guy, he’s tough. He exhibits everything that an Ed Block Courage award winner would exhibit.”

Marshall was drafted in the fifth round out of Nevada in 2012 but still had to make his way up from the practice squads in Jacksonville and Denver.

Davis went undrafted out of Sacramento State and joined the Saints in June of 2014. Five months later, the Broncos claimed him off waivers from New Orleans and he played in six games for Denver down the stretch. He played in all 16 games the next two years and led the team in tackles last year.

”It’s been an amazing journey and I really feel blessed to be here,” Davis said. ”I think one of my biggest defining moments was being cut four or five times and then finally making it on a squad. I made a promise to myself that I would never be cut again. I never wanted to go back there Authentic Jordan Akins Jersey , it was tough times. I’ve just been blessed and now I’m here.”

That perseverance and determination shows in his play, coach Vance Joseph said.

”Todd is special. Todd is one of our best leaders,” Joseph said. ”Todd plays with injuries. Todd never complains. Todd is the same guy every day. Todd is an example of being a great pro.

”Through the good times and through the bad times, Todd has never changed. His work ethic has never changed. If it’s a walkthrough, Todd is full speed. Todd is what I want all of our guys to aspire to be.”

KANSAS CITY Cheap Chris Herndon Jersey , Mo. (AP) The Kansas City Chiefs saw their bandwagon empty during a midseason swoon, fans jumping ship almost as quickly as Kareem Hunt hitting a hole or Tyreek Hill speeding to the end zone.

They never lost faith in each other, though.

The Chiefs instead rallied to beat the Oakland Raiders last week, setting up a crucial AFC West showdown with the Los Angeles Chargers. And in a dominant performance reminiscent of earlier this season, the Chiefs rolled to a 30-13 victory Saturday night to seize control of the divisional race.

Article continues below ...

”It feels good to be back in this position,” said Chiefs safety Ron Parker, who had one of the three interceptions thrown by the Chargers’ Philip Rivers. ”We stuck it out as a family the last couple weeks, did a good job of staying together. It would have been easy to fall apart.”

The only way the Chiefs can squander the division and automatic playoff berth is by losing their last two games and the Chargers or Oakland Raiders winning out.

”It felt like a playoff game Authentic Saquon Barkley Jersey ,” Parker said. ”This is the closest thing it gets to a playoff game.”

The Chiefs (8-6) got production from their biggest stars: Alex Smith threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns, Kareem Hunt ran for 155 yards and accounted for two touchdowns, Tyreek Hill hauled in a 64-yard touchdown pass and Marcus Peters had a hand in forcing three turnovers.

It all added up to an eighth straight win over the Chargers.

”I didn’t think we played our best. We have to look at ourselves and ask why,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. ”We missed tackles. We didn’t execute well on offense. We went back to some dumb penalties we had early in the year. We made this game bigger than it really was.”

The Chargers (7-7) led 13-10 early in the second half, but Rivers threw three interceptions – two of them to Peters – and Austin Ekeler coughed up a fumble down the stretch.

That ended their four-game win streak and quite possibly their playoff hopes.

Rivers finished with 221 yards passing and a touchdown, but has thrown 13 interceptions during the Chargers’ losing streak to the Chiefs. Melvin Gordon added 78 yards rushing and a score.

”We took a step back today,” Lynn said.

The game shaped up as a matchup of teams going in opposite directions: The Chiefs were 5-0 before watching their division lead waste away, while the Chargers started out 0-4 but won seven of their next nine to forge a near-winner-take-all divisional showdown at Arrowhead Stadium.

Instead Falcons Isaiah Oliver Jersey , the Chiefs looked like they did in their Week 3 win over the Chargers.

So did the Chargers, for that matter.

The Chiefs’ defense, which played so salty last week against Oakland, was buoyed by the return of Peters from a one-game disciplinary suspension in helping to build a 10-6 halftime lead.

Rivers eventually got on track, going 5 for 5 for 88 yards on his first drive of the second half, and his 10-yard touchdown pass to trusty tight end Antonio Gates gave Los Angeles its only lead.

One that didn’t last very long.

The Chiefs answered with a methodical, 69-yard scoring drive of their own. Hunt supplied most of the work, and he capped the drive by catching Smith’s short TD toss to give the Chiefs a 17-13 lead.

”He’s such a well-rounded football player Seahawks Alex McGough Jersey ,” Smith said. ”He’s so good in the passing game, has such a good feel, which is so important for a running back.”

Two plays later, Rivers floated a pass downfield and Peters leaped up to make an easy interception, and his long return set up first-and-goal at the Chargers 6. The Chiefs nearly turned it into another TD when Smith found Hunt again, but the tip of the ball hit the turf for an incompletion.

The Chiefs’ challenge failed and Harrison Butker knocked through a field goal for a 20-13 lead.

The Chargers’ offense, which had committed just six giveaways over the last nine games, coughed it up again three plays later. Peters helped to pry loose the ball from Ekeler http://www.dallascowboysteamonline.com/jihad-ward-jersey , and Butker tacked on a 51-yard field goal a short while for a comfortable cushion.

Rivers threw two more picks in the fourth quarter, giving him six in two games against Kansas City this season, and ending any hopes of Los Angeles mounting a comeback.

”We definitely wanted to put pressure on Philip. We know he’s a gunslinger,” Chiefs cornerback Darrelle Revis said. ”He does take risks in the passing game. We just happened to put pressure on him in the front seven, guys did a great job and we came out with a lot of turnovers.”

The Chiefs came out with a crucial victory, too.

STATS AND STREAKS

Chiefs coach Andy Reid is 10-3 against the Chargers. Smith is 7-1. … The Chiefs also won eight straight against the Chargers from 1990-93. … Chargers WR Keenan Allen had 58 yards receiving, ending a streak of four straight 100-yard games.

AILING BUT ACTIVE

Chargers CB Casey Hayward was active despite missing practice with a calf injury this week. That may have contributed to the star cover man getting burned by Tyreek Hill on his 64-yard first-half TD catch.

INJURIES NOTES

Chargers LB Denzel Perryman left with a hamstring injury late in the first half. S Adrian Phillips left with an ankle injury early in the second. DT Corey Liuget (knee) and LT Russell Okung (groin) also went down in the second half. … Chiefs LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder) and DL Jarvis Jenkins (elbow) left with injuries in the third quarter.

LAKE FOREST Authentic Marquez Valdes-Scantling Jersey , Ill. (AP) Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky never expected to line up under center only five games into his rookie season with the Chicago Bears.

With one game left, Trubisky would now like nothing better than to provide tangible evidence of how far he has come since first stepping into the starting lineup.

Against a backdrop of uncertainty over the coaching staff for next year, Trubisky on Sunday closes his first season against the Minnesota Vikings, the same team he lost to 20-17 at Soldier Field on Oct. 9 in his NFL debut.

Article continues below ...

”I think every situation’s different,” Trubisky said. ”For me personally, I wanted to be thrown in as quickly as possible, but I respected and appreciated the plan they had for me, and I think it worked out.

”You can’t go back and change things but knowing what I know now, it worked for what we were trying to do here. For me the best experience is to actually go through it. But you can also gain a lot of experience from sitting and watching. It all depends on the person and how much you can benefit from each situation.”

Trubisky was supposed to play behind Mike Glennon, but eight turnovers in a three-game stretch led to a quarterback change for the first Vikings game.

Although Trubisky has won just four of his 11 starts and has a passer rating of 78.5 Authentic Troy Niklas Jersey , he calls his forced playing time a success.

”I feel good about it,” Trubisky said. ”Just go back to two words: growth and development. Try to get better every day. I had a lot of fun.”

In the first game with the Vikings, Trubisky went 12 for 25 for 128 yards and gave the Vikings the chance for the winning field goal by throwing a late fourth-quarter interception to Harrison Smith at the Bears 22-yard line.

”I think they’ll be impressed (with Trubisky),” Fox said. ”I think they’ll see some of the things they saw in that first game. I think he’s probably seen a little bit more defense now since that time.

”We’re doing a little bit more with him. So they’re a very, very good defense, they’re No. 1 in probably four of the five main categories of defense. At their place on a fast track, that’ll be a stiff challenge no doubt, no different than it was here months ago in his first start.”

The Bears ran a scaled-down version of the playbook in Trubisky’s early starts.

”We’ve expanded it, we definitely have,” offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. ”And he’s doing more at the line of scrimmage now with protection checks and audibles.

”We’re able to do some more check-with-me stuff. We’re not where we’d like to be Cheap Ronnie Harrison Jersey , still, yet. But he’s done a really good job of handling all that stuff.”

As the Bears have removed restraints on Trubisky, he’s put up bigger and better numbers. In the last four games, Trubisky is 82 for 116 (71 percent) for 880 yards. He had completed 53 percent for an average of 162 yards over his first seven games.

After being taken 1-2 in the 2016 NFL draft, Rams quarterback Jared Goff and Eagles QB Carson Wentz made drastic improvement in Year 2. Trubisky, chosen second this year, anticipates something similar in 2018.

”I expect to make a big jump from Year 1 to Year 2,” Trubisky said. ”The experience I’ve got this year, I’m definitely going to carry that with me into the offseason, going into next year Authentic Jalyn Holmes Jersey , and expect to have a lot of momentum and just a full head of steam going into next year.”

Fox sees the same, although it’s uncertain he’ll even be the one coaching Trubisky.

”I think anytime it’s a second go-around, regardless of what profession you’re in, I think it’s helpful,” Fox said. ”To do it the first time, you’ll come back, you’ll look at tape and think, `Wow, I didn’t really get that,’ or `Are you kidding me?’ It’s just a second go-around http://www.washingtonredskinsteamonline.com/jonathan-allen-jersey , regardless of what position you play. That’s typical of any rookie at the completion of his first NFL season.”

While the Vikings are playing for a first-round playoff bye, the Bears could be playing their final game under Fox. Trubisky isn’t thinking about that now.

”Block it out, I don’t really listen to anything,” he said about the talk Fox will be fired. ”It’s not up to me.”

NOTES: Bears guard Josh Sitton (ankle) and tackle Bobby Massie (knee) missed Wednesday’s practice with injuries. Sitton’s replacement, Tom Compton, returned to practice after missing last week’s game due to a concussio.
