FOXBOROUGH http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com/kentrell-brice-jersey , Mass. (AP) — Veteran running backs Mike Gillislee and Brandon Bolden headed the list of cuts as the New England Patriots got down to the NFL’s 53-player limit.

Gillislee, signed as a restricted free agent before last season, ran for 383 yards and five touchdowns in nine games.

He and Bolden became expendable with the signing of free agent Jeremy Hill, who ran for 1,633 yards and 20 touchdowns with Cincinnati in 2015 and ’16 before an injury last year ended his season after just seven games. He signed with the Patriots as a free agent in March.

Bolden, who has been with the team since 2012, was also released on cutdown day last season but then quickly brought back and played in all 16 games – at running back and on special teams.

Cornerback/kick returner Cyrus Jones, a second-round pick in 2016 who missed all last season, and rookie quarterback Danny Etling were among 26 players released. Four others were placed on injured reserve, including offensive linemen Isaiah Wynn — the team’s first-round pick — and Ulrick John http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/vladimir-ducasse-jersey , wide receiver Braxton Berrios and linebacker Christian Sam.

Saturday’s moves cut the roster to 53, but that counts Julian Edelman, suspended for the first four games for PED use, thus leaving one spot open.

Also released were DE Eric Lee, recently signed WR K.J. Maye, DT John Atkins, P Corey Bojorquez, OL Luke Bowanko, OL Cole Croston, RB Kenneth Farrow Kemoko Turay Jersey , OL James Ferentz, LB Marquis Flowers, DL Trent Harris, OL Jason King, LB Harvey Langi, WR Riley McCarron, DB A.J. Moore, FB Henry Poggi, OL Brian Schwenke, OL Matt Tobin Maliek Collins Jersey , TE Will Tye, DL Vincent Valentine, RB Ralph Webb and CB Jomal Wiltz.

The Patriots, who open their season at home against the Houston Texans next Sunday, had already traded safety Jordan Matthews to the Atlanta Falcons and released five players before the official cutdown day.

Last year, coach Bill Belichick was busy in the hours following trimming his roster, including trading backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Indianapolis Colts for wide receiver Philip Dorsett.

Among those not cut were Jason McCourty, acquired from Cleveland to join twin brother Devin in New England. Jason McCourty had trouble finding the field as a cornerback but showed versatility by moving to safety for the last two preseason games.

Casey Hayward got the raise he deserved after two standout seasons for the Chargers.

The Pro Bowl cornerback agreed to a three-year, $36 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

The Chargers and Hayward’s agent, David Mulugheta Vernon Davis Jersey , confirmed the deal. NFL.com first reported the extension.

Hayward gets $20 million guaranteed after two Pro Bowl seasons for the Chargers, who signed him in San Diego as a free agent from Green Bay in 2016. The six-year pro has played in every game since moving to the West Coast, getting 11 total interceptions while drawing the toughest defensive assignments for the Chargers’ much-improved defense last year.

”Got to thank the (at)Chargers and the Spanos family for everything,” Hayward tweeted. ”Believing in a guy everybody said was a NICKEL guy and giving him a chance to flourish outside. 3 more years and counting. Let’s push for that ring.”

Hayward had played his way into a starting role for the Packers in 2015 after beginning his career mostly as a slot defender, but Green Bay let him walk – and Hayward immediately became one of the NFL’s best defensive backs with the Bolts. The website Pro Football Focus graded Hayward as the NFL’s best coverage defender last season.

Hayward had one year remaining on his initial free-agent contract. He joins several key defensive players with the Chargers who are locked into long-term deals, including Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram and Jahleel Addae.

After winning nine of their final 12 games and barely missing out on a playoff spot, the Chargers likely aren’t looking to overhaul their defense during the free agent period. They hope to re-sign starting safety Tre Boston, but he could command top dollar on the market after his strong season.

The Cardinals announced they have signed punter Andy Lee to a two-year contract extension Albert Wilson Jersey , keeping him under contract through the 2020 season.

Lee was entering the final year of a two-year, $3.9 million contract. He was scheduled to make $1 million in base salary this season.

Lee, 35 Kirk Cousins Jersey , averaged 47.3 yards per punt last season, breaking the franchise record of 47.0 set by Ben Graham in 2009. His net average of 39.7 yards last season on his 88 kicks was the team鈥檚 best since Dave Zastudil had a 40.1 net in 2013.

Lee has averaged 46.4 yards a punt in his career with a career net of 39.7.

He spent the first 11 years of his career with the 49ers before one-year stints with the Browns and Panthers. He signed with the Cardinals a year ago. He also serves as the holder on field goals and extra points.

Three times he has made the All-Pro team, and three times he has earned Pro Bowl honors.

Next season's Super Bowl from Atlanta will be televised in Spanish by ESPN Deportes.

The NFL and CBS Dorian O'Daniel Jersey , which has English rights to the telecast on Feb. 3, 2019, reached agreement Monday with ESPN Deportes. That channel televised Super Bowl 50.

ESPN Deportes also presents weekly "Monday Night Football" games in Spanish throughout the NFL regular season Saquon Barkley Jersey , and televises a wild-card playoff game.

The Los Angeles Rams loaded up on experience on the defensive line and in the secondary with a series of audacious offseason acquisitions through trades and free-agent signings.

At linebacker LeSean McCoy Jersey , however, the Rams are trending in the opposite direction.

The youth movement becomes even more evident during offseason practices.

Third-year linebacker Cory Littleton is calling plays for the first time after moving inside. Second-year outside linebacker Samson Ebukam was paired with rookie defensive end Justin Lawler to form the main pass rush tandem during a team period Tuesday, with rookies Trevon Young, John Franklin-Myers and Brian Womac seeing significant action behind them.

It is a trade-off that seems to be working for head coach Sean McVay.

"We've really put them in some tough situations with how we've practiced, so it requires a lot of thinking on the move, some of the adjustments and things, especially just based on what the offense is presenting And I think they have handled it well, and I think we'll have a better feel towards the end of the offseason program and them going into training camp," McVay said.

The Rams traded inside linebacker Alec Ogletree and edge rusher Robert Quinn during the offseason, and outside linebacker Connor Barwin remains a free agent. Ogletree led the team in tackles last season, and Quinn and Barwin combined for 13.5 of the Rams' 48 sacks.

In the hopes of filling some of those gaps, the Rams used four of their 11 picks on linebackers to add depth inside and outside. Special teams contributors Littleton and Bryce Hager will take on larger roles in the middle, and players from McVay's first draft class in 2017 such as Ebukam and Ejuan Price are being asked to further ramp up their development in pressuring opposing quarterbacks.

That inexperience could be what limits the potential for a defense that added defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh and cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters Derek Carr Jersey , but Littleton expects the linebackers to respond to the challenge.

"We're all still developing, but by the time the season comes I feel we'll all be ready and we can all show that we have more to offer than people might think," said Littleton, who is getting the first chance to replace Ogletree in the middle.

Suh is emphasizing the little details to his youthful teammates, but understand that they take time to be refined.

"As a young guy, I remember you're like a chicken with your head cut off," Suh said. "Just try and take the basic things, and then elaborate on them each and every day."

Fellow veteran lineman Michael Brockers is stressing relentless effort on every play. Suh puts a priority on communication.

For Littleton, the challenge to communicate is literal. He has never had to relay defensive signals before, and Littleton acknowledged that requirement of his new position is at odds with his reserved nature.

"I'm not the most vocal person, but I do my best," Littleton said. "Speak a little louder, hope everyone can hear me."

If it was intentional Robert Griffin III Jersey , it was brilliant. If it was inadvertent, it was the equivalent of discovering plutonium by accident.

Regardless, the NFL’s multi-step P.R. play regarding free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick supplied those who don’t like him and/or his anthem protests with an endless stream of talking points that continue to provide a useful basis for quickly shifting the goalposts whenever anyone begins to make progress while arguing the objective unfairness of Kaepernick’s lingering unemployment.

By now, everyone knows the truth: Kaepernick isn’t employed not because of his skills, but because of his politics. More specifically, because he decided to bring attention to police brutality directed at African-Americans and people of color by not standing during the national anthem, the NFL regards him as “bad for business,” regardless of whether the NFL’s current business outlook currently is bad. (Earlier this month, Falcons owner Arthur Blank justified the Matt Ryan contract in part by explaining that “[l]eague revenues are up, club revenues are up.”

But the process didn’t start with the truth. The process began with unnamed sources pushing false narratives to the media aimed at justifying his unemployment for football reasons. And the anti-Kaepernick crowd still continues to indiscriminately rattle off one of more of these long-debunked reasons even now, months after the NFL finally conceded that the all-about-football decision was only about non-football considerations.

It started with the attack against Kaepernick for “opting out” of his contract, a red herring that was quickly debunked by 49ers G.M. John Lynch, who said on PFT Live that Kaepernick would have been cut if he hadn’t chosen to rip up his deal and become a free agent in March 2017. It continued with someone pushing to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com the notion that Kaepernick wanted a salary in the range of $9 million to $10 million per year and a chance to compete for a starting job. But no one actually knew what Kaepernick wanted at the time Kareem Martin Jersey , because the conversation hadn’t progressed to the point where anyone had asked Kaepernick or his agents what he wanted at the time.

And there they were, the first two football-related knocks on Kaepernick — he “opted out” of a sure thing with the 49ers, and he wants too much from everyone else.

Then came concerns about his diet. “He’s not eating meat!” the pearl-clutching personnel execs privately said, while also admiring Tom Brady‘s avocado ice cream habit.

Next, it was the notion that some within the 49ers organization believe Kaepernick is more committed to social justice work than playing football. That was quickly refuted, but that didn’t matter. The anti-Kaepernick crowd had another talking point that would endure.

Eventually, as more and more quarterbacks were getting jobs — and as more and more fans and media members were saying, “Yo, what the f–k?” — media members started pushing overt baloney regarding the actual football evaluations of Kaepernick’s abilities.

鈥淭he No. 1 reason Colin Kaepernick is unsigned: He鈥檚 not considered a starting-caliber player by any NFL evaluator anymore. Work from there,” Albert Breer of SI.com tweeted on May 9, 2017.

It was a specious claim from the get go. How does anyone know what every NFL evaluator thinks?

But truth doesn’t matter. What matters is loading up those who oppose Kaepernick with ammunition for countering arguments rooted in facts. Facts like Monday morning’s PFT item regarding the evidence being harvested in Kaepernick’s collusion grievance. Evidence which shows that multiple teams viewed Kaepernick as a starter in 2017 and still regard him that way today.

By late July, when the Ravens needed a quarterback and considered (for a moment) the possibility of signing Kaepernick, the truth finally surfaced. It’s not all about football. In fact Karl Joseph Jersey , it’s about anything but football.

That’s what the story should have been from the start. The decision to shell-game the truth, however, has resonated for more than 14 months, allowing fans and media who simply don’t like Kaepernick for what he did and/or what he believes to continue to cite the various football reasons that have uniformly and consistently been exposed as false.

None of this means that the NFL colluded when keeping Kaepernick unemployed. But what better way to throw dirt on the collusion trail than to try to twist and distort the real reasons for the universal (and potentially coordinated) decision to distance the league from a player whom multiple evaluators did indeed regard as a starting-caliber player?

Regardless of whether collusion is proven, and despite the reality that Kaepernick would be employed right now but for his protests, alternative facts have become a very real and viable basis for shouting down anyone who looks at the situation, considers the facts, and says, “Yeah, he’s getting screwed.” However that strategy came to be, the NFL should bottle it and sell it to Washington, D.C.

No investigation or federal case needed this time. The NFL says a bad football used in a preseason game Thursday night was simply defective.

The league said in a statement Friday that a ball was removed from play during the third quarter of the Steelers-Eagles game in Philadelphia and will be sent back to manufacturer Wilson for review.

Questions about an underinflated football flared among fans online after the preseason opener when a sideline radio reporter tweeted that he saw a ball looking "VERY deflated" after an incompletion thrown by Pittsburgh rookie Mason Rudolph.

That immediately brought back reminders of "Deflategate Kelechi Osemele Jersey ," the scandal caused when New England Patriots superstar Tom Brady used underinflated footballs during the 2015 AFC championship game. Brady was ultimately suspended four games in 2016 for his role in a case that climbed all the way to a federal appeals court.

The saga prompted the NFL to change how it handles footballs before and during games.

NFL officials say all the proper procedures were followed during the game Thursday night.

The Giants have churned the bottom of the roster in the week leading up to the season, adding veteran help in a few spots.

Among the moves was bringing in linebacker Nate Stupar, who was recently released by the Saints.

The 30-year-old Stupar adds some special teams help for the Giants Larry Warford Jersey , and helps make them a bit older. They also signed 29-year-old defensive tackle John Jenkins yesterday.

This came after claiming six players off waivers Sunday after final cuts, meaning 15 percent of the roster has less than a week of preparation with the team heading into the opener.

鈥淗opefully we鈥檙e not gonna have years like this where there鈥檚 this much turnover right at the back end,” Giants coach Pat Shurmur said on WFAN Kenyan Drake Jersey , via the New York Post. 鈥淏ut it is what it is. We鈥檝e committed to making sure we try to improve the roster, even if it鈥檚 incremental.”

The New York Rangers hired Boston University’s David Quinn as their new head coach Wednesday Julio Jones Jersey , the second college coach hired by an NHL team this month and third in the past four years.

Quinn replaces Alain Vigneault, who was fired hours after the Rangers missed the playoffs for the first time since 2010. An introductory news conference was scheduled for Thursday.

”In a coaching career that has spanned over two decades at the collegiate, pro Len Dawson Jersey , and international level, David has helped his teams achieve success while simultaneously teaching the game and helping his players develop on and off the ice,” general manager Jeff Gorton said. ”He is the ideal choice to bring our loyal and passionate fans the winning hockey they deserve.”

The 51-year-old Quinn coached Boston University to four NCAA Tournament appearances in five seasons Jason Spriggs Jersey , including a trip to the national title game in 2015. He spent the lockout-shortened 2013 NHL season as an assistant on Joe Sacco’s staff with the Colorado Avalanche.

”David brings a diverse and successful coaching resume that includes extensive work in developing young talent,” Rangers owner James Dolan said. ”I am confident he is an excellent fit for our team, and know he will work tirelessly with (team president Glen Sather) Kelvin Benjamin Jersey , Jeff and our entire organization to execute our plan to build the next Rangers Stanley Cup-contending team.”

The Rangers made the playoffs in four of Vigneault’s five seasons as coach, including a 2014 trip to the Stanley Cup Final. They went 226-147-37 in the regular season under Vigneault, who is third in regular-season and playoff wins in franchise history.

The retooling Rangers are the latest team to dip into the college ranks for a coach after the Philadelphia Flyers hired Dave Hakstol from North Dakota in 2015 and the Dallas Stars hired Jim Montgomery from the University of Denver in early May. Before Hakstol Muhammad Wilkerson Jersey , it had been 28 years since a coach made the jump from the NCAA to the NHL.

More NHL hockey: Cavaliers All-Star forward Kevin Love remains in concussion protocol and his status for Game 1 of the NBA Finals is still unclear.

Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue gave an update Tuesday before the team flew to San Francisco for Thursday’s opener. The Cavs are playing the Golden State Warriors in the finals for the fourth straight year.

Love missed Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals at Boston after banging heads with Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum in the previous game. Jeff Green started for Love in Game 7 and finished with 19 points with eight rebounds in Cleveland’s 87-79 victory.

Love has played center and forward this season and is averaging 13.9 points and 10.0 rebounds this postseason. He sat out the 2015 finals with a separated shoulder.

FLORHAM PARK C.J. Mosley Jersey , N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have released kicker Cairo Santos, a day after claiming Jason Myers off waivers from Seattle.

The team signed free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis to the active roster with its corresponding move Wednesday.

No, the seven-time All-Pro is not returning. The one-day contract he signed last month to retire as a member of the Jets was officially submitted since New York had a spot on its 90-man roster.

Santos signed with the Jets in March Tyus Bowser Jersey , but was unable to kick in training camp because of a groin injury suffered late last season while with Chicago. Coach Todd Bowles says New York could add another kicker to compete with Myers and Taylor Bertolet.

Wide receiver Jonah Trinnaman, who was waived-injured Tuesday, was unclaimed and reverted to the Jets’ injured reserve list. He doesn’t count against the 90-man roster.

The Oakland Raiders are trading star kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson to the New England Patriots.

A person familiar with the deal said Sunday that the deal will become official after Patterson passes a physical. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. Pardon My Take first reported the trade.

NFL Network reported that Oakland will receive a fifth-round pick in the deal and send one of its six sixth-round picks to New England.

Patterson is one of the most accomplished kickoff returners in the game. His career average of 30.2 yards per return ranks second all-time to Hall of Famer Gale Sayers' 30.6 mark.

Patterson spent one year in Oakland after playing four seasons in Minnesota. The Vikings originally acquired Patterson with the 29th pick in the 2013 draft after trading up with the Patriots.

Patterson has played receiver throughout his career Melvin Ingram Jersey , but has made his biggest impact as a returner where he has scored five touchdowns and has always helped create good field position for his teams.

The Raiders had the best average starting field position after kickoffs last season in the NFL, while the Patriots ranked fourth.

That speed has been less effective as a receiver where Patterson has averaged only 10 yards per catch in his career as he has been mostly used on screens and short passes.

Patterson caught 31 passes for 309 yards last season for Oakland and also ran for 121 yards on 13 carries for three scores.

For his career, Patterson has 163 catches for 1 Ken Crawley Jersey ,625 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 44 carries for 454 yards and six scores.

The Raiders have made some moves at receiver this offseason under new coach Jon Gruden. Jordy Nelson was signed last week to be a starter alongside Amari Cooper, leading to the decision to let Michael Crabtree go.

Oakland also signed Griff Whalen for depth at returner and receiver and is reportedly interested in former Washington receiver Ryan Grant as a potential free agent addition.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler has been sentenced to a year of probation and 75 hours of community service for a parking lot attack on a man.

News outlets report Fowler was sentenced Thursday after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery David Andrews Jersey , criminal mischief and petty theft. He could still be disciplined by the NFL.

St. Petersburg police say Fowler was arrested last July after confronting a man who made a comment about his driving in a parking lot. Authorities say Fowler exchanged words with the man before hitting him. Fowler played for the University of Florida and was the Jaguars’ first-round draft pick in 2015.

The last sled to get as many views as the one Chandler Jones broke yesterday was named Rosebud.

And the Cardinals defensive end had no apologies for the broken equipment/viral video he created when he snapped the arm off a blocking sled during practice yesterday.

Via Darren Urban of the team’s official website, Cards coach Steve Wilks said he thought the damage was a result of Jones being handled by tackle D.J. Humphries on an earlier play and the resulting motivation.

“That’s not why Ray Nitschke Jersey ,” Jones said, clearly proud of himself. “I’m just too powerful. You can write that down. Way too powerful. . . .

“I was like Chris Doleman Jersey , ‘[Expletive], I forgot how powerful I was.”

And while Wilks now has a sled that’s short an arm which somebody is going to have to pay for, he admitted he was still impressed.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (9-7)

OPEN CAMP: July 26 Chris Conte Jersey , Virginia Mason Athletic Center, Renton, Washington

LAST YEAR: Seattle missed postseason for first time since 2011 and injuries and depth issues caught up with aging core. Once-vaunted defense took significant step back and offense that had been best at running was downright dreadful. Seattle had one rushing TD last year by running back and QB Russell Wilson again spent large portions running for his safety. That Seattle won nine games and was in playoff conversation into late December was remarkable.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONS: Rookie RB Rashaad Penny, WR Brandon Marshall, WR Jaron Brown, TE Ed Dickson, OL D.J. Fluker, DT Tom Johnson, DT Shamar Stephen, rookie DE Rasheem Green, LB Barkevious Mingo Dee Ford Jersey , rookie LB/DB Shaquem Griffin, K Sebastian Janikowski, K Jason Myers, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, offensive line coach Mike Solari, defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr.

IMPORTANT LOSSES: RB Eddie Lacy, WR Paul Richardson, TE Jimmy Graham, OL Luke Joeckel, DE Cliff Avril, DE Michael Bennett Max Unger Jersey , SS Kam Chancellor, CB Richard Sherman, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, offensive line coach Tom Cable, defensive coordinator Kris Richard.

CAMP NEEDS: Happy Earl Thomas is good place to start. Thomas held out from offseason activities and has said he will not take part in team functions until contract situation is addressed. Thomas' deal expires after season. Who will be Seattle's No. 2 wide receiver? Tyler Lockett, now fully healthy after broken leg suffered late in 2016? Veteran Brandon Marshall after injury-filled 2017? Seattle must also find pass rush after departures of Bennett and Avril. Frank Clark can't do it alone.

EXPECTATIONS: Different than they've been since first couple years of Pete Carroll's tenure. Seattle clearly decided to refresh locker room this offseason. Gone are big personalities of Sherman and Bennett. Also gone: lots of talent, a void that may not be filled immediately. There is optimism about Seattle's rookie class, but for first time since 2013 Seahawks don't go into season as one of favorite.

Utah has a chance to write one more chapter to an improbable comeback story.

The Jazz put themselves in position to claim the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference after cruising to a 119-79 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. Utah did not waste time taking control of the game and led by double digits over the final 3 1/2 quarters.

Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points and set an NBA rookie record for 3-pointers. Mitchell went 4 of 5 behind the arc and has made 186 3-pointers this season, breaking Damian Lillard’s record for a first-year player.

”I am actually thrilled for him that he did that,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. ”He has been our guy, offensively Daryl Worley Jersey , all year who we have relied on. He’s unselfish, which makes the guys around him better.”

Derrick Favors added 16 points and nine rebounds. Jonas Jerebko scored 14 points, and Rudy Gobert and Ricky Rubio added 13 points apiece for the Jazz.

Utah (48-33) won its sixth straight game and went 3-1 in the season series with Golden State. Now the Jazz are tied with Portland in the standings and can claim the No. 3 seed with a win over the Blazers on Wednesday night.

”What makes it a story is no one expected it,” Mitchell said. ”But the thing I’ve said all year is we knew we were going to be good. I don’t think we knew we were going to be 3 seed good, but we knew we were going to be good.”

It is a surprising position for a Utah team that lost last season’s top scorers Gordon Hayward and George Hill to free agency over the summer and was nine games below .500 at one point in mid-January.

The Jazz believed all along they could climb back into the playoff picture and make serious noise in the Western Conference.

”Guys took it upon themselves to just get better in the offseason,” Favors said. ”We just stuck with the plan throughout the whole season and right now we’re fighting for the third spot. Gotta give credit to everybody on this team.”

Even with a loss to the Blazers, Utah is assured of falling no lower than the No. 5 seed.

Klay Thompson scored 23 points and Kevin Durant added 13 for the Warriors, who finished the season at 58-24. Golden State, the No. 2 seed in the West, never led in the game and shot just 35 percent from the field.

The 40-point loss is the largest margin of defeat for the Warriors under coach Steve Kerr.

”We need the competitive spirit,” Kerr said. ”We need the juice. We need the joy Riley Reiff Jersey , and we haven’t had much of that. So we got to get our minds right.”

Utah dominated on both ends of the court during the first quarter. The Jazz used an 18-3 run to stake out a 24-9 lead. Rubio took a steal in for a layup and Favors scored on a pair of dunks to ignite the run.

Mitchell scored on back-to-back possessions and then followed with a 3-pointer to help push the lead to 33-14. The rookie totaled 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting in the first quarter alone.

Golden State appeared it might rally after Durant scored back-to-back baskets to cut Utah’s lead to 35-22. That’s as close as the Warriors got. Jerebko and Royce O’ Neale combined to score three straight baskets to push the lead to 43-24.

”We got to be better,” Durant said. ”We couldn’t really get a rhythm or a groove out there with the way we go down so early. We started pressing a bit and trying to get it all back at once.”

Utah led by as many as 45 points in the second half. The Jazz took their largest lead at 103-58 when Jerebko buried a pair of 3-pointers and Dante Exum added a dunk to polish off a 10-2 run to open the fourth quarter.

TIP-INS

Warriors: Thompson and Durant combined to shoot just 14 of 39 from the field. … Golden State scored a season-low 33 first-half points. … The Warriors fell by an average margin of 29.6 points in three losses to the Jazz this season.

Jazz: Utah scored 25 points off 16 turnovers. … The Jazz had a 19-6 edge on fastbreak points and outscored Golden State 62-38 in the paint.

HOODIE STATEMENT

As the Rookie of the Year debate between Mitchell and Ben Simmons continues to heat up, the smack talk is following suit. Mitchell wore a black hoodie into Vivint Smart Home Arena before tipoff on Tuesday that contained the dictionary definition of a rookie on the front.

It offered a lighthearted jab at Simmons’ status as a ”redshirt rookie” after he spent what would have been his original rookie season sidelined with an injury. Adidas approached Mitchell about wearing the hoodie and he went along with the joke.

”We just wanted to all have fun with it,” Mitchell said. ”That’s all it is, having fun and just enjoying it.”

Mitchell reiterated he’s not worried about the award and would rather see Gobert and Snyder earn Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year honors respectively.

QUOTEABLE

”We need to put things into perspective. When I was a rookie, we only won 23 games. And now some people say winning 58 is kind of a down year. That’s incredible.” -Thompson, on Golden State finishing 58-24 in the regular season.

The teams announced the venture Thursday. They will practice Aug. 15-16 together at Minnesota's new, sprawling practice facility in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan. They will play a preseason game Aug. 18.

It will be Jacksonville's third set of joint practices since coach Doug Marrone took over in 2017. The Jaguars practiced at New England and hosted Tampa Bay during training camp last year.

The Jaguars and Vikings came up just short of the Super Bowl, which was played in Minneapolis. Jacksonville led the Patriots by 10 points in the fourth quarter before losing 24-20 in the AFC championship game. Minnesota lost 38-7 at eventual champion Philadelphia in the NFC title game, failing to become the first team to play a Super Bowl in its home stadium.

Trevor Williams has been pitching in the majors for less than two full seasons. Still, he’s come to understand the ups and downs that come with the sport.

”Baseball kicks your (behind),” Williams said. ”The highs are so high Andy Levitre Jersey , and the lows are so low. You have to stay even-keeled.”

Williams bounced back from recent struggles by pitching one-hit ball over seven innings and two Pittsburgh Pirates relievers closed out a two-hitter in a 1-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night.

Williams (6-4) struck out seven and walked two for his first victory in a month and after he had allowed a combined 12 runs in six innings in his previous two starts. Jordy Mercer drove in the lone run with a seventh-inning double, and the Pirates won for the fourth time in five games.

The Brewers entered the day leading the NL Central but suffered their third straight loss.

The only hit off Williams was a single by Jonathan Villar with two outs in the fourth. The hit followed a walk to Hernan Perez, and the duo executed a double steal before Erik Kratz struck out to end the inning.

Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle thought fastball command made the difference for Williams.

”Up, down, in, out. It was just an outstanding performance,” Hurdle said.

Williams had gone 0-2 in five starts since beating the Chicago White Sox on May 15.

”He hit his spots Chris Ivory Jersey ,” Milwaukee right fielder Christian Yelich said. ”He was throwing everything for strikes. When a guy is doing that and he’s not really missing over the plate much, it’s a tough night.”

Kyle Crick pitched a perfect eighth inning for Pittsburgh. Yelich singled off closer Felipe Vazquez to open the ninth, ending a string of 13 straight Brewers retired. Vazquez retired the next three hitters for his 14th save in 18 opportunities.

Francisco Cervelli drew a one-out walk in the Pirates’ seventh and advanced to third on Josh Bell’s single. Josh Hader relieved Jhoulys Chacin and struck out Gregory Polanco, but Mercer followed by doubling down the left-field line to score Cervelli.

”The way both guys were pitching, I think everyone started to think that one or maybe two runs and that was going to be the ballgame,” Mercer said.

The run was charged to Chacin (6-2), who had won his previous six decisions and not lost in 13 starts since April 4 against St. Louis. Chacin allowed six hits Delano Hill Jersey , struck out two and walked two.

Cervelli had two hits to snap a 0-for-13 skid.

”I feel like I was throwing the ball well,” Chacin said. ”I was making pitches when I had to. In the last inning, I gave up the hit, but I was more frustrated that I walked Cervelli. That was the guy I couldn’t get out.”

TRIBUTE TO UECKER

As a surprise tribute to Bob Uecker, the Brewers traveling party dressed in loud sportscoats – popularized by the Hall of Fame broadcaster during his frequent guest appearances on The Tonight Show – for the flight from Milwaukee to Pittsburgh on Sunday night.

Manager Craig Counsell said he had hoped to replicate an outfit Uecker once wore that included a turtleneck sweater with a belt and a pair of bellbottom slacks. Alas, Counsell came up empty in his search for such garb.

The Pirates activated right-handed reliever Richard Rodriguez from the 10-day disabled list, recalled infielder/outfielder Jose Osuna from Triple-A Indianapolis and optioned right-handed reliever Dovydas Neverauskas and catcher Jacob Stallings to Indianapolis.
