BOSTON (AP) Adam Henrique scored twice and the Anaheim Ducks ended Boston’s 18-game point streak with a 3-1 victory over the Bruins on Tuesday night.
Jakob Silfverberg also scored for the Ducks Anthony Averett Jersey Elite , the first team to beat the Bruins in regulation since Washington’s 5-3 win Dec. 14 at Boston. Cam Fowler and Rickard Rakell had two assists apiece.

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Evgeni Malkin got his 12th career hat trick and Bryan Rust scored two goals as surging Pittsburgh rallied past San Jose.
Malkin’s 24th goal of the season late in the second period tied it. His 25th early in the third gave Pittsburgh the lead for good and his 26th rolled into an empty net with just more than a minute remaining as the Penguins won for the eighth time in 10 games.
Matt Murray stopped 40 shots in his first start since the death of his father this month.
Brent Burns and Logan Couture scored power-play goals for the Sharks but San Jose dropped its second straight game without Joe Thornton, who is out indefinitely with a right leg injury.

Either way the All-Pro is almost certainly going to wait until late August at the earliest to sign his franchise tender if he and the Steelers can’t work things out.
Pittsburgh could tip its hand about its plans at the position by taking a back in the early rounds. The Steelers used a third-round pick on James Conner last spring, but his rookie year was cut short by injury.
AIR APPARENT?
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger went from waffling about his future to telling teammates he can go three more years. The two-time Super Bowl winner turned 36 in March and now gets to see what he can do with Randy Fichtner as the offensive coordinator following Todd Haley’s departure.

That changes this week.
The young front office boss, who took over when John Dorsey was let go last summer, heads into the three-day draft Thursday without a first-round pick. But Veach has one in the second round and two more in the third, giving him ample opportunity to shore up a leaky defense on an otherwise deep roster.

The Chiefs clearly trust him. Dorsey did a good job of acquiring talent after taking over a 2-14 franchise, but his inability to manage the salary cap ultimately led to his ouster.
Veach has quickly balanced the books, using draft choices to help the process. He sent a fourth-round pick next year to Buffalo to grab middle linebacker Reggie Ragland, who started right away last season, and a fifth-rounder this year to Cleveland for swing offensive tackle Cam Erving.
Then, he dealt quarterback Alex Smith to Washington for cornerback Kendall Fuller and a third-round pick this year Wholesale Barkevious Mingo Jersey , and cornerback Marcus Peters and a sixth-round pick this year to the Los Angeles Rams for a fourth-round pick this year and a second-round selection next season.

The upshot is that, while nobody is quite sure what Veach will do when he runs his own draft, the safe assumption is that he will move aggressively to nab a player he likes.
”That’s just kind of who I am. I have a group of guys up there who are worried that I’m going to be too aggressive,” he said, ”so I’m glad I have those guys. PRIORITIZING DEFENSE
The Chiefs spent lavishly on WR Sammy Watkins and are deep on offense, but there are holes across the board on defense. Look for them to target a pass rusher or cornerback with their first couple of choices, regardless of whether Veach decides to trade up.

There are some local names that could fit nicely in Kansas City. Kansas DE Dorance Armstrong showed flashes of talent throughout his career in Lawrence, while Kanas State CB D.J. Reed has the speed to help on defense and special teams – he was a return ace with the Wildcats.
HITS, MISSES AND BARGAINS
The Chiefs have landed at least one Pro Bowl player each of the past three drafts: Peters in 2015 Authentic Connor Williams Jersey , WR Tyreek Hill the next year and RB Kareem Hunt last season. But they also have acquired other key guys, including Mahomes in the first round last year and DT Chris Jones in the second round in 2016.
The misses have largely been on defense. CB KeiVarae Russell was cut in camp after going in the third round in 2016, while DE Tanoh Kpassagnon rarely saw the field as a second-rounder last year.
Good luck finding bigger bargains than Hunt and Hill. Hunt was a third-round pick last year and led the league in rushing as a rookie, while Hill was a fifth-round pick with plenty of off-the-field issues, but has thrived as a wide receiver and return man.

Gipson has provided bulletin-board material for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville in a radio interview by ripping Cleveland’s front office, predicting the Jaguars would score 40 points and record a shutout, and forecasting a winless season for the Browns.

”I probably got a bit out of hand with 0-16 team,” he said Wednesday on a conference call with the Cleveland media. ”But I definitely do stand by my comments when I say I feel like Sunday we plan on going 1-0.”
While Gipson attempted to soften his stance, Browns coach Hue Jackson said he addressed the verbal attack with his team.
”Oh, I did Pittsburgh Steelers News ,” Jackson said. ”You can bet your bottom dollar I did.”
So did Jaguars coach Doug Marrone, who has his team on a roll – the Jags (6-3) have won three straight – and isn’t pleased that one of his players would doing anything unnecessary to motivate or provoke a desperate team.
”That is not something that we like to do as a team,” he said. ”It has been addressed, and we understand that it is going to be very difficult for us to go on the road and win a football game.”
On Monday, Gipson, who spent four years with the Browns before signing as a free agent with the Jags after the 2015 season, lambasted Cleveland’s front office during a radio interview.
The 27-year-old was among a group of established veterans that the team chose not to re-sign New England Patriots News , and Gipson said his first chance to play against the Browns was ”definitely going to be personal, man, for sure.”
Gipson went on to say he didn’t understand why Cleveland’s executive team led by Sashi Brown would allow him, starting center Alex Mack, right tackle Mitchell Schwartz and receiver Travis Benjamin to leave as free agents. Gipson added that Browns rookie safety Jabrill Peppers is playing out of position and he sympathizes with former teammates such as linebacker Christian Kirskey and running back Isaiah Crowell because in Cleveland they’ll ”probably never get the due they deserve.”
Gipson’s chatter became headlines in Cleveland and prompted him to call Kirksey and others to explain that he wasn’t disrespecting them.
”They get paid just like we do, and I show respect for the guys they have,” he said. ”It was not a shot.”
Gipson New Orleans Saints News , however, doubled down on his claim that the Jaguars, who have the NFL’s top-ranked scoring defense, can blank the Browns.
”Unless you have Tom Brady at the helm, I think we can pitch a shutout against any team,” he said. ”I don’t take those comments back. I stand by those comments.”
Kirksey is close with Gipson and expects Sunday’s game, now fueled by some serious trash talk Philadelphia Eagles News , to ”be a fistfight.”
”Their defense is solid. Our defense is solid,” Kirksey said. ”It’s going to
be the best defense to win. Tashaun, he’s just saying what he’s saying to get
his team riled up. I’m going to say what I’m going to say to get my team riled

Gipson understands that his comments have made him a target and put more pressure on the Jaguars, who will have to deal with wintry conditions and a Browns team that has shown improvement in recent weeks.
The war of words could escalate.
”I’m hoping that it might be chippy,” he said. ”That is fine. That is part of the game, but as far as any extracurricular, I know that I’m not on that and I hope that nobody is out there trying to end people’s seasons and things like that because at the end of the day Justin Jones Jersey Elite , it is just football. Jackson said Gipson didn’t have to utter a thing to get the Browns ready.

Cardell Hayes was convicted of manslaughter in December 2016 in Smith’s death and of attempted manslaughter because Smith’s wife Bo Scarbrough Super Bowl LI Jersey , Raquel, was shot in both legs during the encounter in April of that year.
But Hayes’ attorney Paul Barker wrote in an appeal filed Thursday that the judge who tried Hayes should have granted a new trial because a witness who contacted Barker the day after Hayes’ conviction said he had heard two guns at the time of the shooting, buttressing Hayes’ claim that he had fired in self-defense.

Hayes’ lawyers had argued at trial that he only fired because the retired NFL player was drunk and violent and had grabbed a gun following their collision.
