The most significant game of the preseason is in the books and Broncos Country was treated to some pretty darn good football from top to bottom. As we inch closer to regular season action Youth Chris Harris Jr Jersey , the clouds are starting to part quite a bit about what our team is going to look like and where the problem areas are on the roster. Given that, I’m going to focus this review a little more closely on what I see as the teams strengths and weaknesses.DefenseAgain in this game we saw a weakness in run defense. You wouldn’t know it based on the post-game interviews as the coaches and players all talked like it was a pretty stout outing from the defense, but my eyes told me a very different story. That being said, it is always important to keep in mind the nature of preseason football: vanilla schemes, mix-and-match personnel, and experiments from the coaching staff are the order of the day.So while I point out the flaw, let me say that I’m by no means saying it is a glaring issue.Front 7The best showing of the game from the front 7 belonged to Adam Gotsis. He did it all: 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 QB hit, and a partridge in a pear tree. Honestly, I’m very comfortable with him taking a lot of early snaps or stepping in for Wolfe if there’s an injury. He’s got a ton of game.Domata Peko again stood out to me for his play early on. He’s a beast of a man and on two different plays I saw him occupy and move 2 blockers on the line. It is the kind of thing that oftentimes goes unnoticed, but is the very key to a great pass rush or run stop.Another guy that stood out to me as a guy many in Broncos Country probably aren’t noticing is Demarcus Walker. He had two hits on the QB and was a disruptive force on the interior. He’s shaping into the kind of player many of us thought he would become when we drafted him last yearBradley Chubb got a lot more work in this game. He was in on 陆 a sack, had a couple of QB hits himself, and was mostly up with one down play I noticed against the run. What I’m seeing mostly here is the coaching staff feeding him as much action as possible to get him coached up as quickly as possible to the NFL level. The rotational guy worth talking about is Josey Jewel. Once he joined the fray, it was kind of a showcase of how well he plays the run. He was in on everything when Washington tried to run.Shane Ray did himself a very good favor with a sack and a TFL with the 2s...though I honestly about fell out of my chair with the big time celebration. C’mon son. This is the preseason and you are out there owning backups at best. Let’s not get carried away.SecondaryDymonte Thomas was eye-popping good coming in as a safety. He was in on 5 tackles and had a really impressive pass defense. He’s the young guy out of the safety group that I think is likely to make the team assuming the numbers work out.At this point we know the Broncos have made a move to get Adam Jones to strengthen the cornerback position. It is a darn good thing they are honestly. While the team has some guys that look like they may be able to develop like Isaac Yiadom, none of them has stood out to me as actually being ready to play week 1. Yiadom is by far the best of the bunch behind our starters and while he’s shown excellent technique and being in the right position, he’s made no plays that have been there to make.Brendan Langley hasn’t had a good showing so far in 2017. He looks like a guy I try to stash on the practice squad as I honestly don’t see how another team would look at his film and think he’s worth going after on the waiver wire.OffenseI thought the offense looked all the way around pretty darn solid. The run game worked (as long as talent was carrying the ball) http://www.thebroncosfootballauthentic.com/connor-mcgovern-jersey-authentic , the pass game flashed, and for the 1st and 2nd teams, things looked to be clicking fairly well. What I liked most about the offensive performance was that in the only game in the preseason where the team had any kind of game plan, the offense looked well prepared and ready to play. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been able to say that about this offensive team.QuarterbacksCase Keenum looked like the solid QB we all hoped we were getting. He was highly accurate with the ball and didn’t throw a pick. While I’m just a little concerned about the lack of passing TDs, the team kept getting close and then winning with the run game.Chad Kelly looked like a guy that sealed the deal on being the Broncos backup QB to start the season. No picks, looked super comfortable as the leader of the offense, and had some really impressive read progressions.Paxton Lynch again showed us that he doesn’t have what it takes to make it in the NFL. Sure he didn’t throw any picks, but he also looked mostly lost / ineffective.LineHonestly I was most impressed with the play of our offensive line moreso than any of the other position groups. It looks very much like the Broncos have a line that is going to be able to win up front and open some lanes for the run game and hold their ground against the pass rush. One guy I’m going to point out specifically is Max Garcia. He was a monster at both run blocking and pass blocking. I was blown away with how good he looked in this game. While I’m still solidly behind starting Ron Leary and Connor McGovern at guard, I’m honestly very comfortable going into the season with Garcia being our backup G/C.Running BacksRoyce Freeman is the truth, ladies and gentlemen. He runs the best of any of the running backs and looks like a #1 RB out of the backfield. He belongs as our #1 back and should start the season as such in my opinion.Davontae Booker on the other hand is JAG. He has always been JAG. He will always be JAG. Sure it was only 3 carries, but he still only averaged 3 ypc. He just doesn’t have any kind of upside you want to see in your backfield. He’ll likely make the team because the coaching staff doesn’t have the stones to cut him, but I’m honestly more comfortable with Freeman, Henderson, Lindsay, and Janovich than I am making room for Booker. Finally, we need to give it up for Phillip Lindsay. That kid is busting his ass and it is paying off big time. I can’t see any way that the team doesn’t take him on the roster heading into the season. He looks like a serious speed weapon a la Christian McCaffrey. ReceiversEmmanuel Sanders is going to have a career year by the looks of it. He’s looking so quick and fast and excited to play football with a guy who can get him the ball in space. Look for him on that end around a few times this season...I bet he’s likely to have similar results to what we saw in this game if the team blocks for him like they did.Courtland Sutton also really jumped out to me as a guy who’s got the stuff to play big time football in the NFL. He looks honestly like a young Demaryius Thomas and is likely going to get some big time rookie success with us this year.Really the team looks to be in very good shape with Wide Reciever talent. We have threats for every level of the field and guys with talent galore as possession receivers (Thomas, Sanders) Womens Jake Butt Jersey , deep threats (Sanders, Sutton), quick route runners (Sanders, Hamilton), and jump ball specialists (Thomas, Sutton, Patrick). The only worry I have at all in the passing game is our tight ends. They didn’t get much work in this game. While I liked what I’ve seen especially from Jeff Heuerman this preseason, there just hasn’t been the volume that has me feeling confident in what they’ll be able to do in the regular season.Special TeamsI honestly think Isaiah McKenzie isn’t long for the team (and I had that noted before the signing of Adam Jones for the record). He had the one really awesome return in week 1, but he just hasn’t shown much more and hasn’t found a niche to help the team outside of Special Teams. Holding a roster spot just for a guy who’s track record says is an iffy returner just doesn’t make sense to me.But enough downer stuff...let’s talk about Brandon McManus. My goodness, what a friggin’ machine he was in this game. The dude hit 2 really big time 50+ yard kicks and was 5 for 5 on field goals with 2 for 2 on extra points.Final ThoughtsWhile this week’s game won’t be terribly interesting in all honesty, it has been a pretty promising preseason for the team. We have two QBs who look like they can play, an offense that appears to be dynamic and solid in both areas, and a strong defense with a ton of talent.Hit me up in the comments and let me know what you thought of the team. Who is your dark horse guy that is going to be a big surprise to make it on the final roster?Who’s your surprise cut?MHR Live: What’s in a number? The New Orleans Saints and New York Jets may have cut-off the Denver Broncos ‘Plan A’ ending an out of market rumor that the Broncos would pursue a seasoned veteran quarterback to assist Case Keenum on game days.Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been traded to New Orleans in exchange the Saints sent a 3rd round pick to the Jets. The Jets also curb any calls for Bridgewater in the event that their rookie quarterback Sam Darnold struggles early on.The bridge has run out of air to cover and the bubbles are rotating players off into that wood chipper known as the waiver wire. Thirty-seven men per team will not have jobs by Saturday. For now, there are trades and while none of the Broncos seem to be heavily involved in any type of trade discussion there are several players that fans have questions about. As always, Swerving Points is not about the  Womens Shaquill Griffin Jersey  game’s biggest plays, which would be turning points. We know what those were in Sunday’s win, on defense at least.Interception 1: Just the right ankleMcForced McFumbleInterception 2: Earlectic BugalooTake a bow? Take a bow. Why the hell not?Chris Carson even unlocked the RB TD vault. May much unclaimed loot spill out of there onto the Seattle Seahawks’ 2018 season. Jaron Brown caught his first score as a Seahawk, and Tyler “Guess That Extension Wasn’t Such A Bad Idea” Lockett hauled in his third TD in as many games.Fine, you can have Steve Raible calling the Lockett TD. But only because you’ve all been very good boys and girls all week.Highlights galore. You’re welcome. Now there are four penalties I’d like to talk about, four flags that shaped the game on the contours, if not the core.Roughing the passer on Tyrone Crawford (DAL), first quarter, 11:17. Result of the play: First down SEAOf all the big penalties in the game, this one probably had the lowest impact on the final result. The EPA (expected points added) was 1.58, a significant amount for a single play on one’s own side of the field, but Seattle still had to punt at drive’s end. Because they simply don’t score opening-possession touchdowns. That wouldn’t be very sporting. Anyway, what made me want to cite this event is that it overruled a third-down incompletion and led to a 12-play drive by the Seahawks. Field flipped, first downs gained, intelligence gathered, a semblance of rhythm attained: though you’d always like to score points, at least you achieved something with the football in your hands. For a change, the possession wasn’t a complete waste. Also: there is a ton of research on how referees favor home teams. Two of my favorite hits lie below. In the NBA (includes great custom chart)In the NFL (a lot to process here)It was awfully nice to see Seattle benefit from what might have been a hometown call. Things are tougher on the road, and you don’t always get all the breaks you’d like (see: Week 1 in Denver with the non-fumble and the maybe-touchdown fiasco). Being at home matters in more ways than one.On to the more swervy flags.Illegal touch on Ezekiel Elliott (DAL), second quarter, 5:39. Result of the play: Cowboys settle for a field goalElliott’s footwork was just sloppy enough that he stepped out of bounds before making a reception near the south end zone and racing down the far sideline for a sure score. On a 3rd and 2 from the SEA 31. Four points come off the board for Dallas, with seven turning into three.Up until this point, the Seahawks have also earned some penalties, as is their habit. 12 men on the field (VERY ON BRAND) during the Cowboys’ first possession Youth Doug Baldwin Jersey , the weekly holding on J.R. Sweezy, and especially running into the kicker to prolong a Dallas drive. But each was followed shortly by a positive play that mitigated the error, or eliminated its bad effects altogether.By game’s end, Seattle would be called 10 penalties to the Cowboys’ 7, costing the hosts 67 yards to the visitors’ 55. As halftime approached, the Seahawks were already losing the penalty battle, but winning the war, and the biggest call of all was yet to come.Personal foul, unnecessary roughness on Randy Gregory DAL, second quarter, 0:07.Result of the play: first down SEA in field-goal territoryGregory, who may or may not have been baited by Joey “Breno” Hunt, gifts Seattle 15 yards of field position to transform a potential 62-yard FG into a quite different 47-yard attempt. Sebastian Janikowski remembers how to make the mid-range ones and delivers three points as the half ends. This game feels awfully different in the fourth quarter without that kick as extra cushion. We would be remiss to tell the story of this costly (to Dallas!) penalty without mentioning that Pete Carroll was aggressive on defense with the timeouts. He called two on the Cowboys’ previous possession and gave his offense 49 seconds to get into field-goal range one last time before half.Somehow, Carroll had managed to preserve all three timeouts for the first 28 minutes — while Jason Garrett had spent all of his minutes ago, two on defense and another for play clock reasons. Pays off sometimes to be the team that isn’t wasteful.Personal foul, taunting on Earl Thomas, SEA, fourth quarter, 3:17Result of the play: another unforgettable Earl Thomas momentThere is very little more to say than the unsaid words behind Earl’s bow. Yes, he just vaporized Dallas’ last best chance of the game with a red zone pick. Yes, it’s his second. Yes, there have been a shit-ton of rumors. Endless billows of smoke circle around Thomas, even today, but as of yet no fire is spotted. Well. Not since Earl set the sideline ablaze with the play of the game, then the statement of the game.So he takes a bow. Maybe to drive the point home about how much better off they’d have been with him wearing a star on his helmet instead of a bird. And he earns a personal foul. This moment’s a swerving point that could very easily become a turning point for his career. Maybe the quality and ferocity of his play on Sunday leads to an extension here; maybe he sits out more practices; maybe he delivers the best season of his life and walks away in free agency to earn the financial security he craves.Meanwhile http://www.seahawksfootballauthentics.com/bradley-mcdougald-jersey-authentic , the Legend of Earl Thomas grows.(Extend him.)Chris Carson second in the NFL in yards after contact As I wrote on Sunday, Chris Carson had the best game by a Seattle Seahawks running back in maybe three years this past week against the LA Rams. I was not at all surprised by this because Carson has been nothing but a great player during his year and a half with the team, dating back all the way to the 2017 NFL Draft when Pete Carroll called him one of his “favorite players” in the class. As a seventh round pick, Carson had long odds just to make the final roster after the Seahawks signed Eddie Lacy and expected the returns of Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise from injury, but he did way better by winning the starting gig. I even dubbed it, “The Summer of Chris Carson.” He’s yet to do a single thing to warrant losing that job, as long as he’s healthy. That began in Week 1 of last year when it was obvious to me and just about everyone else that Carson should be the only back to receive the ball from Seattle’s backfield. That started in Week 2 of 2017, when he received 20 carries and gained 93 yards. The totals weren’t mindblowing, but he had plenty stacked against him (a poor offensive line chief among them) and all you had to do was watch the way he ran to know that he was a special player. The broken ankle he suffered in Week 4 gave people horrific Rawls flashbacks, but as John Gilbert wrote, he had a higher probability of recovery. Here we are: Recovery. And it feels so good.Carson has held off first round rookie Rashaad Penny, who has looked exceptional at times. Much like Carson, the numbers haven’t always panned out for Penny in the way that you’d like (not that it matters yet, he’s only a rookie and he deserves plenty more time to develop and earn his opportunity), but as you watch him, you see that he can probably do things with his legs that neither Carson nor Mike Davis can do. That was obvious as early as his first preseason game; Penny didn’t do much that day, but he had a couple runs that made it clear that he can do a lot if he puts it all together. On many teams, Penny would be starting right now. If many of those coaches had Penny and Carson, they’d at least be giving Penny the ball more often. Not Carroll though. While I’m not sure I love an organizational philosophy that involves drafting a running back in the first round and then not needing to use him in all of his rookie contract years, I can’t blame Carroll for sticking with Carson and Davis. I’ve been saying since the start of last season that I think Carson could be a top-five back in the league. And that’s what we’ve seen recently. While the offensive line is also playing a lot better, probably thanks in large part to the additions of J.R. Sweezy and D.J. Fluker at guard (I’m not sure what you do with D.J.R. Fluzy, but there you go, I’ve now put that into the universe), Carson is also making the most out of the meals provided to him.Carson is averaging 3.3 yards per rush after contact, second in the NFL behind only Isaiah Crowell of the New York Jets. And to add to that Womens Jarran Reed Jersey , Crowell has had runs of 77, 62, 54, and 36 yards. He’s playing really well, but those long runs — assuming that he had a hand on him at the line of scrimmage — are really going to skew the numbers and bring Crowell back to the rest of the pack soon. Christopher Carson’s longest run is 24, but he’s lost yardage on only three of his 64 carries. Crowell has lost yardage on 11 of his 54 attempts. That includes eight losses of at least -2 yards (and a safety), compared to Carson’s losses of -1, -1, and -2 yards. We can’t know for sure how much of this has to do with Seattle’s gameplan or the offensive line as compared to the Jets or the average NFL team today, but I’m gonna go ahead and be biased as I can to say that it’s only because Carson is the best player in NFL history. This week, the Seahawks play the Oakland Raiders, and while I am not sure how we judge the field at Wembley and how that might alter Carroll’s gameplan with Carson and the rest of the offense, we do know that the Raiders are going to provide a defense that might get him over 100 yards again. Oakland is 28th in rushing yards allowed, 27th in yards per carry allowed, and 24th against the run according to DVOA. Two weeks ago against the Cleveland Browns, the Raiders allowed 105 yards to Nick Chubb (on three carries), and 82 on 22 carries by Carlos Hyde. They did a surprisingly good job against the LA Chargers this past Sunday, but that was likely because Philip Rivers had no need to hand it off when he’s going 22-of-27 for 339 yards. Hey, I’ll take a good game from Russell Wilson too. This is definitely a good time to be Carson or Davis, who has 33 carries for 169 yards over his last two games (in that time he has just two negative rushes, both for -1 yard), and they both look like starters. The guy behind them will be a starter one day too, Seattle just doesn’t need him right now.

Derrick Jones is the next player in our Jets roster countdown.Name: Derrick JonesNumber: 31Year with Jets: 2ndProjected Role: Dime backHis 2017: The Jets picked Jones in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. He made the 53 man roster out of training camp but was a regular scratch on gameday.2018 will be a success if: Jones can start to get some regular playing time in subpackages and succeed as the number four cornerback. That is the natural next step in his career. Marcus Williams set the gold standard for Jets dime backs in 2015. I doubt Jones will approach the 6 interceptions Williams had in limited playing time New York Jets Hoodie , but the team did draft him in part due to the ball skills that come from being a converted wide receiver. One on one against relatively weak number four receivers, the Jets are probably hoping for some playmaking.Odds of making the roster: A strong training camp has Jones as Probable (75-99%).Jets vs Lions: Five Bold Predictions It’s here, oh, it’s finally here! Monday is opening day of the 2018 Jets season, but it’s so much more than that. On September 10, under the bright lights of Monday Night Football, the beginning of the Sam Era unfolds in front of a nation wide audience. as Sam Darnold makes his debut. After four weeks of scintillating preseason football we finally get to see the Jets new star and his compadres in real NFL action Cheap Customized New York Jets Jerseys , taking on the Detroit Lions. So it’s time for another season of hilariously inept Bold Predictions. This week is pretty much impossible to predict. The first week of the season every team is filled with hopes and dreams but nobody is quite sure how anything will unfold. Will the youngsters develop? Can the old guys squeeze out one more good year? How will the prized free agents work out? Will the new coaches work some magic or go down in flames? Nobody knows, but here at Bold Predictions I nonetheless boldly go where angels fear to tread. I will put my fine good ok not completely reprehensible reputation on the line and try to predict the unpredictable. Should be good for some giggles.Disclaimer: A Bold Prediction is not something that is likely or probable to happen. Bold Predictions are blind guesses that are laughably optimistic beyond what anyone can reasonably expect to happen, but not so far as to be virtually impossible. Saying that Leonard Williams will get a sack is not a Bold Prediction, nor is saying that Bilal Powell will run for 650 yards. By definition, Bold Predictions are unlikely, but not impossible, to occur. Since this is a Jets site www.jetsauthorizedshops.com , they are also pro-Jets predictions. As always, the Final Score prediction is meant to be realistic, not a Bold Prediction. Here are my five Bold Predictions for Monday’s game:1. Sam Darnold. Never bury the lead, right? Gotta start with Sam. Let’s see, what will Sam do? How about this: Sam Darnold will kill it. 275+ passing yards, 2+ touchdowns, no turnovers and a passer rating of 100+. Right out of the gate and Sam dominates. Welcome to the NFL our prodigal son.2. Somebody’s gotta catch those Darnold darts New York Jets Womens T-Shirt , right? And who better to assist Sam’s sterling efforts than Neal Sterling? Our new starting tight end will have Jets fans dreaming of the days of Mickey Shuler. Well, at least fans who actually remember Mickey Shuler. Sterling goes off for 5+ catches, 80+ yards and a touchdown. Local (Belmar, NJ) boy makes good. 3. How about a punter prediction? We never have those, and punters are people too, or so the rumor goes. So here’s to you Lachlan Edwards. Lac booms his punts to the tune of a 54+ yard average, including one that goes 70+ yards.4. Enough talk New York Jets Hats , time to back it up. Jamal Adams sheds his iron mitts for a soft pair of hands and picks off Matthew Stafford, taking it to the house.5. The Jets defense holds the Lions offense to less than 60 yards rushing and less than3 yards per carry. And a bonus prediction: Jets special teams will not surrender a single kick return over 20 yards nor a punt return over 10 yards. Wouldn’t that be weird?Final Score: Koolaid is nice, but too much ismaking me a bit queasy. Coming back to reality, a rookie quarterback on the road on prime time is a difficult way to start the season. Stafford and company light up the Jets in the face of the novel Jets no pressure defensive approach. Lions 27, Jets 20.

The Jacksonville Jaguars defense was absolutely http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/jalen-ramsey-jersey-cheap , positively, mind-blowingly good last season. It will probably take a while to realize what a gift we had in 2017, but rest assured — we will be toasting that unit for a while. But how large is the window for the defense? Can they continue to perform at an elite level? They’re bringing back everyone except the nickel cornerback and SAM linebacker and they added a first round draft pick in Taven Bryan and seem to have struck seventh round gold in rookie linebacker Leon Jacobs. This week Youth Leonard Fournette Jersey , we’re taking a look at several aspects of this year’s Jaguars team with the help of Football Outsider’s Andrew Potter who was kind enough to explain how he thinks this year’s defense will compare to last year. What do you think? Will the defense regress or will it — wait for it — actually improve?Let us know in the comments below! The 2018 Jacksonville Jaguars will (and should) be judged by if they win a Super Bowl or not I love the Jacksonville Jaguars. I love our goofy Iron Man of a quarterback who has missed one snap due to injury in his career because missing one snap and only one snap is an incredibly Blake Bortles thing to do.I love that we’re a power run team in a four verts world and that despite the fact you want to load the box we’re still gonna run it anyway because that’s who we are and to hell with what you think.I love that our star cornerback will expose you and he doesn’t give a damn how many All-Pro years you’ve got — and if you won’t see him after y’all are both kicked out of the game, well, we’re gonna have to get the police involved.I love that Super Bowl winning quarterbacks measure themselves after facing our secondary and can only wonder aloud if they’ve got it anymore.I love that our running back waves on hits and our linebacker mockingly points and laughs at you and another will wave L’s at your bench and our hatin’ ass fans won’t back down if you climb into the stands because you’re not gonna Ron Artest us.Last season was totally unexpected. I thought we’d be in contention for the division title. I expected our running game to be good and our secondary to be good and for Doug Marrone to be good. And while all those things are true http://www.jaguarscheapstore.com/leonard-fournette-jersey-cheap , good was not enough. It’s like saying the Northern Lights look good. No. An aurora borealis is breathtaking and awe-inspiring and worthy of respect and fear because it’s unlike anything you’ve ever goddamn seen and you think you understand it but you don’t and you never will.We were loud and brash and reckless and fun as hell. We were within a few bad calls of a Super Bowl after a decade of losing seasons. A decade.Last year, I said I wanted to judge the season by incremental improvement. Just get better. Just get a little better. This season, I’m judging the season by one thing — a championship. The window is open. The secondary is (somehow) better. The pass rush is (somehow) better. The run game is (somehow) better. The coaching is (somehow) better. And the quarterback is good enough.Go Jaguars.
