Why this is so, the players are currently puzzling.

They pretty much give you gear OSRS gold  and after that you can do 3 dungeons with approximately 2 daily limits per update gear to unlock 3 more dungeons update and get 3 more pretty much until no more than then farm mats for alts to do it all over again or simply pvp. Fights are alright enough but honestly is that enough? Its similar to playing an action game simply to perform the exact same stage over and over again....or perhaps I'm just getting too old to discover this fun.

I played with a fantastic while on PC, as a matter of fact I bought a inexpensive founder's pack as it was additional reading  still in CB, therefore was part of this game from CB 1, I think. The combat is really excellent, but as you stated, I finally discovered that's about all it has.And the elitism this generated is really amazing; if you are not decked out in +15 or even +20 or even +418 or whatever the new curve is, you will never get set invites.
