Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Detroit Lions have been listening to teams that are inquiring about wide receiver Golden Tate. Pelissero says the Lions would have to be “blown away” to move the 30-year old receiver. He then goes on to say that they would be “blown away” by a 4th round pick. The only issue with Tate is that he is in a contract year. If the Titans were going to acquire him they would have to sign him to a contract extension or he could possibly just be a 9 game rental. Tate is still very productive. On the year he has 44 catches for 517 yards and 3 touchdowns. If the Titans are serious about making a run this season Ryan Tannehill Jersey , there is no reason they shouldn’t offer the Lions a 4th round pick for Tate. He would be a huge upgrade over everything they have behind Corey Davis, and has obviously been far more productive in his career than Davis has been.Winners and Losers: Dolphins 27, Titans 20 What. A. Disaster. If it could go wrong it did go wrong for the Titans as they opened the Mike Vrabel era with a 27-20 loss to the Dolphins in Miami. Believe it or not there were some winners in what was among the most depressing Titans games of my lifetime (which is saying something).WinnersDarius JenningsDespite all the miserableness surrounding this game, it’s hard not to feel good for Jennings who had a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown to give the Titans some hope late in the game. It was the first kickoff Tennessee has returned for a touchdown since Darius Reynaud in 2012.Dennis Kelly, Kevin Pamphile, and the offensive lineKelly got the start in place of Jack Conklin and largely went unnoticed which is a great thing for an offensive lineman. Pamphile stepped in for the injured Taylor Lewan and played well too. Overall, the offensive line did a nice job, allowing no sacks and helping the backs to 4 yards per carry (which would have been much more had Henry’s long touchdown run not been called back for a phantom hold).Dion LewisLewis’ debut went exceedingly well as the Titans offseason addition rushed 16 times for 76 yards and a touchdown, adding 5 catches for 35 yards through the air. That included a few clutch 3rd down pickups. Lewis looked every bit the dynamic playmaker that he Titans need him to be moving forward.Corey DavisDavis led the Titans with 6 catches for 62 yards and regularly looked like the team’s best receiver. There was one miscommunication issue Delanie Walker Jersey , but he otherwise appeared to be in sync with Mariota. LosersMarcus MariotaLet’s just start here. Mariota started pretty good, but fell apart before leaving with an elbow injury during the second half. His first half numbers weren’t bad, but they didn’t tell the whole story. Mariota underthrew a wide open Luke Stocker who would’ve scored if not for the ball placement, then later in the drive threw behind Corey Davis on a speed out on 4th and goal. Again, the pass was complete, but Davis scores with ease if the ball is accurate. It wasn’t all bad from Mariota early, but those two throws cost them 7. Things would get worse for the Titans signal caller as a hit from William Hayes after a Mariota handoff left him with an elbow injury. He tried to play through it, but threw back to back interceptions — one on a pass floated over Rishard Matthews and one on a poorly thrown screen pass to Dion Lewis — before giving way to Blaine Gabbert who would finish the game. We don’t know what Mariota’s injury is, but the Titans are obviously in huge trouble if he’s not ready to go for the home opener against Houston next week. InjuriesBeyond Mariota Rashaan Evans Jersey , Taylor Lewan (concussion) and Delanie Walker (leg) both left with injuries. Walker’s leg injury was ugly and he’s probably done for the foreseeable future — if not the entire season — which is obviously a huge blow to the Titans offense. Lewan’s injury was suffered on a cheap shot from Dolphins defensive end Andre Branch after the first Mariota interception. Of course no flag was thrown on Branch, because... reasons. Adoree’ Jackson also suffered a shoulder injury at the end of a nice punt return, though he did return to the game later on. Again, we don’t know the severity of Jackson’s injury, but he will likely be on the injury report for most of this week. RefereesI’m not sure what it is about Miami, but the Titans have been absolutely hosed by refs there the last two years. Last season it was the ridiculous offensive pass interference call and the “fumble” that just happened to fly 20 yards down field that was later returned by the Dolphins for a touchdown while they had at least 13 players on the field. This year it was a bogus unnecessary roughness call against Malcolm Butler and a completely absurd holding call against Delanie Walker that negated a long Derrick Henry touchdown run (while Walker got facemasked). The Mariota injury also came on questionable (at best) non-call as he was hit low and late while carrying out a play fake. Titans FansTitans fans got treated to the longest, most depressing game in Titans history today. Multiple weather delays, injuries to the team’s best players on offense, and another losing round of penalty roulette made this one to forget. It’s an unfortunate way to kick the Mike Vrabel era off and I’d expect it will make for a rather lackluster crowd for the home opener next Sunday. It’s hard to imagine a more deflating start to a season. Mike VrabelFor all the good intentions about keeping players healthy and fresh to start the season Dion Lewis Jersey , Week 1 was a stark reminder that injuries will come no matter how careful you are. Vrabel’s careful approach also showed up early in another way. The Titans tackling was horrific during the first half. They settled down a little bit later in the game, but it looked like a team that hadn’t had many reps with live tackling in the approach to the season.Additionally, there were a few questionable game management decisions from the Titans new coach. I liked the decision to go for it on 4th and goal early even though the execution let him down there. However, the Titans squandered many of their timeouts, including using one on defense on a 3rd and 21 late in the 4th quarter when they were trying to mount a comeback. It was a debut to forget for Vrabel.

Just because Tampa Bay’s season is pretty much over doesn’t mean the picks stop coming!Fortunately Caleb Benenoch Jersey , there is still plenty of good football left to observe in 2018. We haven’t abandoned the Bucs, but you can easily forgive someone if their attention turns elsewhere for the time being. Let’s turn our attention to this week’s picks. Crash and burn: Kyle Marks posted a season-worst 5-11 mark in Week 14. Catchin’ up: James Yarcho’s lead is shrinking. Bailey Adams, just two wins behind Yarcho, is a close second.Crap: The staff went 2-3 with unanimous picks last week. They are now just 6-6 in the last two weeks and 41-15 on the season when everyone picks the same team. Another good week: Teams favored by a 5-4 margin went 3-1 last week. Week 14 unanimous picks: The Texans, Falcons, Rams, and Seahawks were all picked unanimously to win. Week 14 toss-ups: Stay away from the Chargers vs Chiefs, Cowboys vs Colts, Lions vs Bills, and Vikings vs Dolphins this week. Week 14 lone wolves: David Harrison is rolling with the Bucs over the Ravens and Alex Salvarezza is doubling down on the Packers and Panthers. Week 15 NFL PicksBucs Nation AlexBaileyDavid DustinEvanGilJamesJonKyleBucs Nation AlexBaileyDavid DustinEvanGilJamesJonKyle Stifled by the salary cap, the Atlanta Falcons won't be offering Julio Jones a more lucrative contract. Not this year, at least. Now the question is: Will the star receiver show up for training camp? The Falcons informed Jones several weeks ago that they would not renegotiate his current $71.5 million package, which still has three years remaining and included $47 million in guaranteed money, according to a person familiar with the discussions. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because the talks have not been made public. The team's decision Beau Allen Jersey , which was first reported by The Athletic, does not preclude talks after the season on a deal more in line with Jones' status as one of the NFL's top receivers. But the Falcons do not believe they have enough financial leeway under the cap to renegotiate the contract in 2018.The team hasn't been told if Jones will be at training camp. Players are required to report next Thursday, with the first practice the following day.Atlanta already agreed to a five-year, $150 million extension with quarterback Matt Ryan, the most lucrative deal in NFL history. The team is also focused on working out new contracts for defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, offensive guard Jake Matthews and safety Ricardo Allen.A flurry of new contracts during the offseason dropped Jones, who makes an average salary of $14.25 million, out of the top half-dozen on the list of the league's highest-paid receivers. Tampa Bay's Mike Evans, Cleveland's Jarvis Landry and Kansas City's Sammy Watkins are among those now making more per year than Jones, a two-time All-Pro who caught 88 passes for 1,444 yards last season. In 2015, Jones turned in one of the greatest seasons by a receiver with 136 receptions for 1,871 yards and eight touchdowns. He is a five-time Pro Bowler. In an apparent sign of his unhappiness, Jones skipped organized team workouts at the team's training facility this summer Ryan Jensen Jersey , as well as a mandatory minicamp. But he apparently took part in Ryan's private passing camp in California along with about a dozen of his teammates this month.Jones has gone silent on social media and hasn't talked with the Atlanta media in months. In one of his rare media appearances, he told TMZ that he has a good relationship with the franchise that pulled off a huge trade with Cleveland to make him a first-round pick in 2011."Everyone wants a story right now. There's no story to be told," Jones insisted. "I'm just working on getting myself better. I'm just working on myself right now. That's all that is. There's no bad blood between me and the team or anything like that."Jones remains in the good graces of coach Dan Quinn, who didn't seem at all upset when Jones skipped the minicamp ."Sometimes football and business intersect," Quinn said. "That's OK and that happens a lot."Quinn has talked constantly of "brotherhood" and making sure players do everything as a team. For instance, the players stood together as a team on the sideline during the national anthem for all games after two players kneeled in protest early in the 2017 season.Quinn doesn't think Jones' absence has affected the Falcons' unity."Do we want everybody here all the time? Hell yeah, like all the time," the coach said. "What I'd say is if you ask to a man, the guy is a hell of a teammate, and the time he spends here, the way he mentors people, how hard he plays, there is plenty of brotherhood in Julio."

Good news on the injury front for the San Francisco 49ers. Running back Jerick McKinnon is set to move into the next phase of his rehab. McKinnon tore his ACL on September 1st Tevin Coleman Jersey , and had his surgery roughly 11 days later. On Tuesday, he posted this picture on his Instagram story, bidding farewell to the crutches he had been using following surgery.Jerick McKinnon crutches after ACL surgeryThere is plenty of work ahead for McKinnon as he dives into the rehab process. It will start slow and build into next offseason. He won’t be taking part in practice anytime soon, but will be working further and further into the rehab process with the 49ers trainers. Once the season ends, the 49ers return for the offseason workout program in late April. Given that his injury happened at the beginning of September, he could very well be doing some modest football activities by the time OTAs start in May.A worthwhile comparison at this point is Jimmy Garoppolo. He suffered his ACL tear on September 23rd Dante Pettis Jersey , and had surgery on October 3rd. The timelines will not be identical, but with McKinnon losing his crutches roughly six weeks after surgery, Garoppolo might be off crutches in roughly three weeks.Kyle Shanahan said after the surgery that he hopes Garoppolo will be throwing by the time OTAs arrive. I suspect Garoppolo could be doing more football activities than McKinnon at that point, even though Garoppolo’s injury occurred after McKinnon’s. Both players move around plenty on their legs, but the stress on the knee for a running back doing cutting and maneuvering would seem to be more of an issue than for a quarterback. That’s not a certainty, but it’s something to keep on our radar as we move into the offseason and the workout program approaches. The Seahawks kicked off the new league year by announcing their restricted free agent and exclusive right free agent tenders. The team has tendered George Fant at a second-round level. Fant saw time at both tackle and tight end during the 2018 season and started seven games last year. He started 10 games at left tackle as a rookie in 2016 Shaquem Griffin Jersey , but a torn ACL kept him out for all of 2017.Fant is set to make $3.095 million under the tender. If he leaves for another team, the Seahawks would receive a second-round pick as compensation.Defensive end Quinton Jefferson was tendered at the original-round level. He was a fifth-round pick, which means the Seahawks would get that back if he doesn’t play out the year for them for $2.025 million.Jefferson had 25 tackles and three sacks while appearing in every game. The Seahawks have also tendered linebacker Austin Calitro, linebacker Emmanuel Ellerbee, center Joey Hunt, defensive end Branden Jackson, safety Shalom Luani Tre Flowers Jersey , running back J.D. McKissic, wide receiver David Moore, long snapper Tyler Ott, cornerback Kalan Reed, and guard Jordan Simmons as exclusive rights free agents. All are tied to the team for 2019 unless they want to sit out the year.Defensive end Ricky Ali'ifua, defensive back T.J. Green, running back Tre Madden and defensive back T.J. Mutcherson were not tendered and are now free agents.Seahawks waive DL Branden Jackson Barkevious Mingo Jersey , claim CB Simeon Thomas off waivers The Seattle Seahawks officially announced on Sunday that they’ve claimed G Jordan Simmons and CB Simeon Thomas off of waivers, meaning that they had to make two roster cuts to make room for both men.It was previously reported that Rees Odhiambo was let go (presumably as the corresponding move to Simmons), and now we know the other player is defensive lineman Branden Jackson.Jackson was a member of the Oakland Raiders in 2016, was signed to the Seahawks practice squad in 2017, then promoted to the active roster in October. He appeared in 12 games for Seattle and was credited with a pass defensed and a 0.5 sack against the San Francisco 49ers.The newly acquired Thomas is a sixth-round draft pick out of Louisiana-Lafayette. He stands 6’3” with 35” arm length, so he obviously meets the physical requirements to be a CB in Pete Carroll’s defense. A combination of academic problems, an eventual misdemeanor theft charge Marshawn Lynch Jersey , and a series of suspensions limited him to just one full season of college play. He’s certainly not a young rookie either, as he’ll turn 25 years old on September 22nd.Thomas apparently was also projected as being able to play safety, so perhaps that’s an additional reason for bringing him on board as depth, as well as to comfort Seahawks fans in knowing that there is indeed someone named Thomas in the secondary who’s on the active roster.

on defense DaQuan Jones Jersey , but they have been gashed by receivers the last couple of weeks. The Patriots receivers got them for 13 catches and 211 yards last week. That might not seem like that big of a deal because, hey, the Patriots receivers are good, right? True, but the week before that the Bills receivers got them for 12 catches and 230 yards. You read that correctly, the Buffalo Bills receiver corps of Robert Foster, Zay Jones and Andre Holmes. So the question for the Titans on Sunday is whether or not their receivers can take advantage of the problems the Jets have at corner. Corey Davis is developing into the #1 receiver the Titans drafted him to be. I don’t have a lot of questions remaining about him. The guys behind him, however, I have no idea what they will do from week to week. Those guys need to step up in this one.It sounds like Taywan Taylor will be back for this one. He has been out since getting hurt in the Monday night game against the Cowboys. Can he make an impact on this game?Tajae Sharpe has been on a milk carton since he had a really good game against the Chargers in London. Can they get something from him in this game?Much like the rest of the team, the receivers have more questions than answers surrounding them. The weapons on this team have been an issue all season long. The Titans aren’t out of the playoff mix yet, but they pretty much have to win out to have a chance at making the playoffs. To do that, they are going to have to have a Taywan Taylor or a Tajae Sharpe (or both) step up. That needs to start on Sunday.Titans Week 4 Enemy Profile: Fletcher Cox When it comes to defensive tackles in this league, Aaron Donald is typically known as the absolute best. Donald has spoiled the rest of us because it seems like other defensive tackles aren’t discussed nearly as much even if they’re playing in the same ballpark.Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox is one of those players. With Philadelphia since 2012, Cox is a three-time Pro Bowler, a three-time Second-team All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion. His Eagles come to Nashville this Sunday to decide which team goes to 3-1 and which team falls to 2-2.Cox himself is having a sensational season. He has 2.5 sacks on the year and leads all defensive players with 9 quarterback hits. He’s a perfect test for an offensive line that has given up the fewest quarterback hits on the season, so something has to give. For a further look at why Fletcher Cox is a defensive player the Titans need to fear, let’s investigate his tape.gamepass.nfl.comPlaying up on the defensive line is not just about rushing the passer or the runner. Occasionally a defensive lineman’s job is to disrupt the play, call out play fakes, option plays, etc. Here, Cox uses hesitance on his pass rush because he knows Devonta Freeman is being used as the bubble screen. As soon as Cox notices Freeman moving out, that’s when he steps in front of him, forcing Freeman to take a different angle before eventually being tackled for a loss. Cox doesn’t get credited for a tackle here Wesley Woodyard Jersey , but his sniff out of the screen ultimately makes this play happen.gamepass.nfl.comSacks by themselves don’t constitute just how well a pass rusher is playing, which is why pressures and quarterback hits do a much better job of providing context. Cox only has 2.5 sacks on the year, but there’s a huge amount of pressure that he’s creating on a game-by-game basis.Cox doesn’t get credited for the sack here (although he’s pretty close), but his leverage allows him to put pressure on Matt Ryan long enough for Chris Long to strip sack the quarterback. Cox was the standout player for the Eagles in Week 1 because of the impact he made on the Eagles’ defensive line: They don’t win this one without him balling out.gamepass.nfl.comWhat especially makes Cox such a dangerous pass rusher that isn’t limited to stopping the run game is his athleticism and technique. His most deadly move is the two-step counter, where he—of course—takes two steps before countering a lineman’s futile attempts at blocking him, giving him a clear path to the quarterback. Here, Cox takes two steps and smacks the guard’s hands out of existence. The guard is now out of position to stop #91, allowing him to push off his left foot, accelerate, and easily take down Ryan Fitzpatrick for the sack.gamepass.nfl.comFinally, it goes without saying that Cox is a freight train; Defensive tackles need all the power they can get to muster through whatever gap they’re racing toward, and Cox has all that and then some. This time Cox is double blocked (that almost sounds dirty), but even that’s not enough. Cox’s bull rush combines quickness, speed and aggressive, high attacking inside hands as he gets by the left guard and completely overwhelms the center, giving him access to Andrew Luck for the sack.To conclude, Fletcher Cox is the real deal. He’s having a Defensive Player of the Year-worthy start thanks to his quick, violent hands, raw power and two-step counter. Along with the defending Super Bowl champions, he’s the perfect test for a Titans offense that has struggled to stay healthy all season. The Eagles have other talented pass rushers to worry about, but stopping #91 would be massive.Marcus Mariota, Matt LaFleur and the offensive line better be ready.

When the 2018 season ended C.J. Beathard Jersey , the San Francisco 49ers came off a five-game winning streak, had a mountain of salary cap space, and a young nucleus of players. It all indicated great things were coming. 2018 would be a different team, Kyle Shanahan would have his vision on the field, the return of the dominating 49ers we’ve wanted since the 90s.Then injuries happened. Oh, the injuries. The 49ers aren’t near the media darlings going into the 2019 offseason as they were in 2018 (losing your last two games to go 4-12 can do that to you), but let the momentum start again. This happened a few days back, but it popped into my Twitter feed tonight and it’s none other than Will Blackmon picking the 49ers as his under-the-radar team: And here we go again. Are we going to get as much hype for the 2019 49ers as we did for 2018? Very doubtful. We’ll see how high the media/league is on them when the schedules come out later this year and list how many primetime games the 49ers get. They originally were to get five primetime games in 2018 Joshua Garnett Jersey , but that number was trimmed to three. And those three would have been crossed out also if the opportunity was available. Sunday Night Football was the only football to be flexed. Monday night and Thursday night games cannot be flexed out, so the world was stuck with C.J. Beathard and Nick Mullens three times in 2018. The good thing is the 49ers offered up an entertaining product in those games — especially Nick Mullens who had one of the best debuts of any quarterback in his Thursday Night Football appearance. The 49ers do have some cash and an offense we never got to see the full potential of due to injuries, among other things. They very well could be flying in under the radar this year. They have a lot to prove, and they can start with the division. You know, by not losing to the Arizona Cardinals. Twice.Matt Breida ruled out for the rest of the game with ankle injury The San Francisco 49ers will be without running back Matt Breida the rest of the day in Week 5, according to FOX announcer Jennifer Hale. Breida suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter when Cardinals safety Budda Baker landed on it. Breida had the ankle taped, but then went to the locker room and did not return. The team formally ruled him out early in the third quarter.Breida was having a big day, with 56 rushing yards on eight carries. He has been the team’s biggest playmaker out of the backfield in a big way. In Breida’s absence Jerick McKinnon Jersey , Alfred Morris becomes the primary lead back, and Raheem Mostert is his backup. The 49ers do not return to action until Monday Night Football next week, so Breida gets an extra day of rest. If he cannot go in Week 6, the team would likely promote Jeff Wilson from the practice squad. Kyle Shanahan will get a chance to comment on the injury after the game, and we’ll see what Monday testing provides.

did what he liked for the first 30 minutes. He threw a pair of touchdowns Will Dissly Jersey , including a 54-yarder on the run to an unknown tight end for his first NFL catch. His passer rating was nearly perfect. Green Bay looked like it could score on every drive. And then it almost completely stopped. Rodgers was unable to solve Seattle in the second half, and was left to watch Russell Wilson lead another late touchdown drive and send the Packers back home with a loss.“It’s tough losing on the road. It’s tough losing by one possession,” Rodgers said. “Obviously I’m frustrated, and not just by the last throw, but some other stuff that we could have done better out there. I still believe we have a lot to play for.”Green Bay’s road woes continued in a 27-24 loss to the Seahawks on Thursday night. The Packers (4-5-1) had leads of 14-3 and 21-17, only to see Wilson throw a 15-yard TD pass to Ed Dickson with 5:08 remaining to give Seattle the lead for good. The Packers still had a chance to get out of Seattle with its first win here since 2008, yet their final possession lasted all of three plays. And it was the last pass by Rodgers that seemed to baffle everyone.Facing third-and-2 at its own 33, Rodgers called a quick pass to the flat for Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Except the pass never got there. It hopped in front of the intended receiver, and instead of going for it on fourth down, Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy opted to punt with more than 4 minutes remaining and the Packers still having one timeout. The decision backfired. Green Bay never saw the ball again, instead forced to watch Wilson kneel three times to run out the clock.Rodgers said the pass for Valdes-Scantling “stuck” in his hand and guessed he could make that throw 100 times and that wouldn’t happen again.“We beat ourselves in the second half,” Rodgers said. “We kind of moved the ball at will in the first half.”Green Bay’s problems went well beyond that one bad throw by Rodgers and the decision to punt. Rodgers was sacked five times, four of those in the second half. Twice in the third quarter Green Bay was forced to punt after drives stalled at midfield. The Packers were 3 of 11 on third downs, 2 of 7 in the second half. A week after Aaron Jones rushed for a career-high 145 yards, the Packers had just 48 yards rushing and Jones finished with 40.Green Bay is 0-5 on the road this season and has lost seven straight road games dating to last year.“I think it kind of went the way we thought it would go. When you’re playing in this environment, particularly when you’re on the road up here. There’s a high tendency for big-momentum plays, big swings, and I think that definitely held true,” McCarthy said. “They made more big plays than we did. … We’ve got to finish games better, especially in the fourth quarter, and especially on the road.”Rodgers finished with 332 yards passing and his TD throw to Robert Tonyan in the first quarter, and his 57-yard strike to Davante Adams in the fourth quarter showed again the greatness of his arm. But Rodgers had 214 yards at halftime and Seattle was able to pressure Rodgers enough in the second half to disrupt Green Bay’s passing attack.Injuries certainly didn’t help either. Green Bay was already down four starters before the first snaps with cornerback Kevin King, safety Kentrell Brice, linebacker Nick Perry and wide receiver Randall Cobb all out due to injuries. They lost two more in the first half when Bashaud Breeland — starting for King — aggravated a groin injury and Jimmy Graham injured his thumb. Graham had a 13-yard reception on Green Bay’s first offensive play in his return to Seattle, but that was his only catch.Mike Daniels suffered a foot injury early in the second half and backup safety Raven Greene suffered an ankle injury. Neither returned. If there’s an upside to the loss, it’s Green Bay getting extra rest before facing Minnesota in a must-win game next week.“We have a number of opportunities where our record would be very different right now, unfortunately, that’s the way it’s played out,” Clay Matthews said. “We’ve set ourselves up for a pretty good second half Rashaad Penny Jersey , we just have to get back to work. We have no other option. On to Minnesota after a couple days rest.” On Saturday the Seattle Seahawks will take on the Dallas Cowboys in one of the two NFC Wild Card games slated to take place this weekend, and don’t be surprised if quarterback Russell Wilson tucks the ball and runs more than he typically did this season. It was nearly a year ago that the Seahawks cleaned house on their coaching staff, replacing Darrell Bevell, Tom Cable and Kris Richard, while also jettisoning Heath Farwell and Travis Jones, and putting Carl Smith out to pasture. The team then went about systematically gutting the roster, with longtime fan favorites such as Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett and DeShawn Shead being shown the door, while others like Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril stepped away from the playing field due to injuries. In short, it was a complete overhaul of the team and staff. And that led to the season that Russell Wilson had, where he set career highs in touchdown passes while tying his career low in interceptions. However, where Wilson’s game saw a big drop in the numbers was on the ground. Wilson had the fewest rushing attempts of his career in 2018, as he took to Brian Schottenheimer’s quarterback coaching and did more damage from the pocket with his arm and less with his legs. Here’s a look at how Wilson’s 2018 stacked up with the other seasons of his career in terms of rushing attempts. Russell Wilson rushing attempts by season compared to team rushing attemptsSeasonRussell Wilson rushing attemptsRussell Wilson rushing attempts (excluding kneel downs)Team rushing attemptsSeasonRussell Wilson rushing attemptsRussell Wilson rushing attempts (excluding kneel downs)Team rushing attemptsIt’s easy to see how Wilson’s rushing attempts dropped drastically this year compared to the prior six season, even coming in lower than his injury plagued 2016 season. However, what doesn’t jump right out from those numbers is when Wilson would take off running, and whether there was any sort of pattern to it. So, for that, let’s look at his rushing attempts by game.Russell Wilson rushing attempts by gameOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryNow, that table includes Wilson’s 16 2018 kneel downs, so let’s strip those out and look at the numbers without those kneels included. Russell Wilson 2018 rushing game log with kneel downs removedOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryOpponentOutcomeAttemptsYardsYard Per CarryAnd those numbers make it pretty evident that Wilson takes off running when the team needs it. When they don’t need him to make plays with his legs, such as against the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers, they don’t ask him to run with the ball. When they need it - against the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings, Wilson seemed more than happy to do damage on the ground. Thus, with the Seahawks looking for their first road win of the season against a team with a winning record against the Cowboys on Saturday, and with the season over if they are unable to come up with that victory, don’t be surprised if we see Russ score his first rushing touchdown of the 2018 season.

WINNIPEG Tanner Pearson Jersey , Manitoba (AP)Bruce Boudreau is keeping it simple.”You’ve got to win four,” Boudreau said after the Winnipeg Jets beat the Wild 4-1 on Friday night to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference first-round series.”We are going home. Like other sports, you have to win one in the other team’s building. Whether you get beat bad or whatever, you still have to win one and it doesn’t matter if it’s now, the fifth, or the seventh. We have to take care of business at home. That’s all.”Paul Stastny, Andrew Copp and Patrik Laine scored in the third period for Winnipeg. Defenseman Tyler Myers had a goal in the second period and also had an assist. Rookie Jack Roslovic, replacing injured veteran Mathieu Perreault, had two assists in the game that ended with a series of fights.”We stuck up for each other Jonny Brodzinski Jersey Womens ,” Wild center Eric Staal said. ”We’re going to do our best to make this a series and compete. We’re going to come home in front of our fans and be ready to play Game 3.”Zach Parise had his second goal of the series when he deflected Mikko Koivu’s shot past Connor Hellebuyck to end the goalie’s shutout bid with 45 seconds left. The goal came on the power play after Jets forward Brandon Tanev was called for hooking with 59 seconds left.”We got the win and that’s all I care about, especially this time of year,”Hellebuyck said. ”The guys played so well in front of me, there’s no fault.”Hellebuyck made 16 saves. Devan Dubnyk stopped 39 shots for Minnesota.Winnipeg won 3-2 on Wednesday night. Game 3 is Sunday in Minnesota.”We’ve got to play a lot better than we have in the first two,” Parise said. ”We got to figure out a way to get some offensive zone time. I feel like we’ve been playing on three-quarters of the rink for two games now. You’re not going to win like that.”The Wild had more jump early in the scoreless first period, surpassing the four-shot total they had Wednesday in the opening frame by going 5-0 by the five-minute mark. That included three shots at Hellebuyck during a power play with Myers in the box for tripping.Dubnyk didn’t have to stop a Winnipeg shot until seven minutes had passed. The Jets then turned on a switch and had outshot the visitors 13-9 when the period ended, but many were from the outside.Winnipeg got its first power play five minutes into the second period when center Mark Scheifele was tripped by Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin, but it wasn’t their shots with the man advantage that sparked the crowd. Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien threw two big hits nine seconds apart, the first on Mikael Granlund in front of the Winnipeg bench Womens Tyler Toffoli Jersey , the second a slam that rocked Koivu into the boards behind Hellebuyck.”Unfortunately, I didn’t get a good look,” Hellebuyck said about the hit on Koivu. ”I’m definitely going to be looking at the replays because the crowd went nuts.”Winnipeg only got one shot on goal on the power play, but the momentum carried on for Myers’ goal that made it 1-0 at 8:41.Myers got the puck at the point in the Wild zone, made some moves to get around forward Jason Zucker and sent a sharp-angled shot past Dubnyk on the blocker side at 8:41 of the second period for the 1-0 lead.Myers was dinged again for roughing forward Charlie Coyle 33 seconds after his goal, but the Jets kept the pressure on with some hustle and hits. When the second period ended, Winnipeg had outshot the Wild 27-14 and led 28-18 in hits.Stastny and Copp scored 1:42 apart, with Byfuglien sending a backhander to the front of the net that Statsny slapped in at 7:42.Copp made it 3-0 at 9:24 when he redirected in Bryan Little’s shot. Laine fired in his second goal of the series from the right circle at 17:58. LOS ANGELES (AP) A strong power play and penalty kill can carry a team deep into the Stanley Cup playoffs. They also passed Colorado (90 points) and St. Louis (89) in the Western Conference wild-card race.Phaneuf gave the Kings a 1-0 lead 4:04 into the second period, scoring on a long shot from the blue line five seconds into a power play. All four of Phaneuf’s goals since being acquired from Ottawa in a Feb. 13 trade have come on the man advantage.Adrian Kempe got the lone assist for winning the faceoff against Troy Brouwer, and Tyler Toffoli set a screen that kept goalie Mike Smith from seeing Phaneuf’s shot.”The key on power play, if you get people to the net and you get opportunities for lanes to the net and you shoot the puck early, it really forces the penalty killers to turn and face their net Eric Staal Jersey ,” Kings coach John Stevens said. ”Once Dion shot the first one there, it really had a ripple effect where guys were looking to move the puck quick and get it to the net.”Kopitar made it 2-0 at 11:55 with his seventh power-play goal of the season. Scoring on a wrist shot from the left circle, Kopitar matched his career high of 34 goals during the 2009-10 season. The Kings captain has five goals in his last three games.Flames forward Sam Bennett committed three penalties in the opening 30:21, with his infractions for high-sticking and tripping leading to the Kings’ first two power-play goals.Carter put Los Angeles in front 3-0 by following up his own rebound from close range at 8:24 of the third. He has 10 goals in 16 games since returning from surgery to repair a cut tendon in his ankle.Los Angeles scored three power-play goals in a game for the third time.Smith stopped 26 shots for the Flames, who were eliminated from playoff contention. Calgary has been outscored 28-7 during a six-game losing streak.”It’s tough to create against LA at the best of times, but I thought we limited them. The announcement has been expected since Leiweke announced he was stepping down from his role with the NFL earlier this year. But it was another step forward for the expansion bid.”It’s kind of fun to start from scratch because you can build a culture the way you would want a culture to be built with likeminded people who want to serve, who love the game of hockey. In this, it is a grand opportunity,” Leiweke said. The prospective majority owner of the franchise, David Bonderman, said he believed there could be a possible conditional announcement about the franchise from the NHL in June and a potential formal announcement in September coinciding with upcoming NHL Board of Governors meetings.”We hope there is not any doubt about it and it’s certainly not just a formality. However, there is a process with the NHL and we expect to play through that process,” Bonderman said.NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, speaking before the playoff opener in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, wasn’t as optimistic, saying there is no set timeline for a decision on Seattle’s expansion bid.”We don’t have a timetable,” Bettman said. ”That would be nothing more than speculation. I would be surprised.”While announcing the president and CEO for a team that doesn’t exist yet might seem a bit presumptuous, Leiweke brings the kind of clout that will only strengthen a bid that almost appears to be a foregone conclusion.Oak View Group, a partner in the franchise and the group responsible for renovating KeyArena Womens Charlie McAvoy Jersey , is expected to begin construction on the building later this fall and have the remodel done for the 2020 season. The season-ticket drive that started on March 1 was a rousing success and was capped at 33,000 deposits.Leiweke got his start in hockey with the Minnesota Wild. He also worked in Vancouver and most recently helped build Tampa Bay into a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference. Leiweke left the Lightning in 2015 to become the COO of the NFL and didn’t have any interest in leaving the league office until the project in Seattle began to gain real traction.”The fact is I found the NFL to be a pretty amazing and fascinating place to work and I was starting to get quite comfortable in my role there so I wasn’t looking,” Leiweke said. ”But I think the stars aligned and my son’s advice was, `Dad, how can you not do this?’ Today, I think he’s right.”Leiweke’s job will be to capitalize on a market whose demographics have changed significantly since he left the Seahawks in 2010 after being largely responsible for the team hiring head coach Pete Carroll. Seattle is the largest market in the country without a winter pro sports franchise and has seen an influx of wealth in recent years. Even when he was running the Seahawks, Leiweke believed Seattle was ripe for the NHL and the response to the season-ticket drive only strengthened that belief.”It really is a great fit. I always thought this could be a great hockey market and it proved it. So far, so good,” Leiweke said. ”Now it’s on us because I think people are going to show up opening day ready to believe and what are we going to put out there? Does it all connect?”Leiweke’s hiring also reunites him with his brother, Tim, the CEO of Oak View Group, which created the privately funded deal to finally solve Seattle’s arena issue.”I’m so in awe of what we did here,” Tod Leiweke said. ”This has been a challenging issue and my brother came in here and figured it out.”—
