Capital Invested $182 Million in Bitcoin

Capital investment firm has reportedly already invested $182 million in
bitcoin. The firm has a total of $9.3 billion in assets under management and
is launching the SkyBridge Bitcoin Fund LP in January.
An investor brochure reportedly
shows the fund has already invested $25 million in bitcoin, and will be open
as of Jan. 4 to outside investors putting in at least $50,000. In the
brochure touting the bitcoin fund, SkyBridge laid out the appeal of BTC to
investors.
Per SkyBridge, bitcoin “is
digital gold” and is “better at being gold than gold.” The brochure
reportedly describes BTC as an emerging asset class that has become less
risky in the last few years, with attractive supply-and-demand dynamics.
The firm believes hedge funds,
public company treasurers, pension funds, insurance companies, banks, and
brokerage firms will be investing in the cryptocurrency space.
