Digital Assets ‘Now Engaged’ in Full Crypto Custody Rollout
Fidelity Digital Assets—a
full-service, enterprise-grade platform for securing, trading, and servicing
cryptocurrency investments—“is now engaged in a full rollout of its custody
and trading services for digital assets,” according to Fidelity Investments chief
executive Abigail Johnson in a Financial Times interview.
“There are people out there
with significant amounts of wealth in cryptocurrencies, probably Bitcoin, and
they’re looking for somebody to hold those coins for them because in the
event of their passing—which is going to happen at some point or
another—you’ve got to have a plan to be able to get those coins to somebody
else,” Johnson said.
Prior to the news of its full
rollout, Fidelity Digital Assets’ cryptocurrency custody and trading services
had been trialling its solution with a limited number of institutional-grade
clients, including hedge funds and family offices.
