Image search has been around
for a long time. You would go to Google Images, enter a search term and
voila a list of — hopefully — relevant images would appear. This is still
a really good way to visually find information, but now there’s something
different: visual search. Visual search is when you use real-world images
as a starting point for your search. Point your camera at an item and it
will find out what it is. Visual search is not new, but big brands are
investing heavily in developing cool applications: Google Lens, Bing
Visual Search, and Pinterest Lens, to name but a few. Read all about this
exciting development!
