Andrew Luck’s big secret is finally out. He’s been throwing a football for weeks – and now he’s throwing in public Dolphins Authentic Jerseys , too.

Nearly 17 months after undergoing surgery on his injured right shoulder, Luck jogged onto the practice field Tuesday wearing a red jersey, strapping on a helmet and picking up a special ball as he started throwing in front of reporters for the first time since October.

No, it wasn’t a regulation NFL ball and the longest pass he attempted was only about a 20-yard lob, but it still was progress.

”It’s a lighter football,” Luck said, referring to the striped football he tossed around. ”It’s sort of a bridge. I’ve thrown a real football, `The Duke Packers Authentic Jerseys ,’ whatever you want to call it. I’ve picked it up and I’ve thrown it and it felt great. And honestly, there was a little mental block to doing it and I had to do it sort of by myself.”

Throughout the process, the Colts have been tight-lipped about Luck’s progression.

Just last week, coach Frank Reich acknowledged Luck was ”real close” to throwing.

He even played ”toss” with Luck three weeks ago, the first and only time he has thrown ”The Duke,” the standard NFL ball. Luck then swore him to secrecy, and Reich obliged the team’s biggest star.

”Sorry, I confess. It really was hard for me to say that Markus Wheaton Jersey Eagles ,” Reich said of the continual denials about Luck throwing a football. ”It really wasn’t a workout. That was how I justified it in my mind.”

The wait for Luck’s expected return from a partially torn labrum, which kept him out all of last season, has been as agonizing for Luck as it has been for Colts’ fans.

Just two weeks after he started throwing in October, the Colts shut down Luck because of what he described as lingering soreness. He changed the description Tuesday, saying the soreness was actually real pain.

Luck spent a couple of weeks seeking second opinions before heading to Europe where he continued working out until late December. He returned to the team complex just before the regular-season finale and presumably had spent the past six months ramping up to start throwing between the end of minicamp and the start of training camp in late July.

Just last week, Reich said Luck was ”real close” to throwing.

Clearly, though, the second round of rehab has gone far better than the first.

”I had pain last year and then I wasn’t being honest to myself about it Cleveland Browns Jerseys Womens ,” Luck said. ”I was trying to get through pain, per se. There’s none of that right now. My arm feels normal (now). Doing things feels normal.”

Reich said the plan is for Luck to steadily ramp up his throwing so he can throw four times per week at camp to mimic a regular-season schedule. Even preseason appearances could be possible.

Reich and team owner Jim Irsay believe Luck will make his first start in almost 21 months when the Cincinnati Bengals come to town Sept. 9.

Luck agrees.

”I really think there are not hurdles, it’s just us protecting him,” Irsay said. ”I think we’ll go through the progression of the preseason and he’ll be ready to go against the Bengals.”

Skeptics note all of this has been said before.

Last August, Irsay was still saying he expected Luck to come back during the first month of the season. Instead, Luck never took a snap.

But Luck and the Colts insist this time is different, and not just because Luck is throwing earlier in the process than last season.

”I can just tell you he has looked really good in his sessions. There have been enough sessions that I have seen – with whatever kind of ball it is – it’s looked good,” said Reich Customized Houston Texans Jerseys , a former NFL quarterback who had similar surgery after his 14-year pro career ended. ”There have been some throws where I would say letting it all out rip.”

Luck was cautious and played it close to the vest with the nearly two dozen throws he made Tuesday.

That’s also part of the plan, and one Luck believes will get his career back on track.

”I just believe I’m on the right path. I believe I’m going to be absolutely – I believe I’m going to be better than I was. I really, really do,” he said. ”I believe I’ll be a better quarterback for this team, a better teammate.”

JACKSONVILLE Dorian O'Daniel Jersey Elite , Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars will open free agency by adding two offensive pieces and re-signing another.

The Jaguars are poised to sign All-Pro guard Andrew Norwell and speedy receiver Donte Moncrief in free agency Thursday, according to two people familiar with negotiations. The people spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity Tuesday because NFL teams are prohibited from announcing signings until free agency officially begins Wednesday afternoon.

Norwell is expected to sign a five-year, $66.5 million contract that includes $30 million guaranteed, one of the people said. That would make him one of the highest-paid offensive linemen in the league.

Article continues below ...

Another person with knowledge of contract talks with receiver Marqise Lee says the team has agreed to terms with Lee on a four-year deal worth $38 million. It includes $18 million guaranteed.

Lee and Moncrief will be counted on to try to fill the void left by losing former Pro Bowl receiver Allen Robinson Rick Leonard Jersey Elite , who is headed to Chicago. Lee led the Jaguars in receiving in 2017, catching 56 balls for 702 yards and three touchdowns. Moncrief had 26 receptions for 391 yards and two scores with Indianapolis.

Moncrief has the speed to loosen up eight- and nine-man defensive fronts.

The Jaguars made the ground game a priority when coach Doug Marrone and top executive Tom Coughlin took over in January 2017. They selected bruising running back Leonard Fournette and left tackle Cam Robinson in the first two rounds of the NFL draft last year and dedicated the offseason to becoming a more physical team up front. They also made Brandon Linder one of the NFL’s highest-paid centers.

Norwell is expected to slide into Jacksonville’s offensive line at left guard, between Robinson and Linder. The Jaguars have used five different starters at the position the last two seasons.

Although Jacksonville led the NFL in rushing in 2017, the running game stalled late in the season and barely was a factor in the playoffs. The Jaguars averaged 141.4 yards a game last season Josh Sitton Super Bowl LI Jersey , but they topped 100 yards just twice in the final six games.

Norwell should help make Jacksonville’s line, especially the left side, one of the best in the AFC.

He was the No. 1 offensive lineman available in free agency, a first-team All-Pro selection who didn’t allow a sack or a quarterback hit in 2017 Cheap Tremaine Edmunds Jersey , according to Pro Football Focus. NASHVILLE Browns Antonio Callaway Jersey , Tenn. (AP) Nashville’s power play is back, and the Predators are back in first place.

Viktor Arvidsson scored twice to reach 20 goals this season, and the Predators beat the Ottawa Senators 5-2 on Monday night.

Roman Josi, Ryan Ellis and Craig Smith also scored for Nashville, which ended a two-game skid and tied Winnipeg for first in the Central Division.

Article continues below ...

The Predators recorded two power-play goals and scored on the man advantage in their second straight game after going six games without converting on the power play. Screens by Colton Sisson set up goals by defensemen Josi and Ellis.

”The power play played great today and got us a couple of goals, and I think we created a lot of chances Giants Saquon Barkley Jersey ,” Arvidsson said. ”I think we simplified it and just started shooting pucks, and getting net-front presences. Siss had two big screens today and that results in two goals, so that’s just simple hockey.”

Arvidsson fired a game-high nine shots on goal.

”He was really good,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said. ”I mean he was working, constantly in motion, constantly moving towards the puck or working to generate Derrick Nnadi Jersey Elite , working in the battles.”

Pekka Rinne made 36 saves to earn his 30th win of the season. The Predators improved to 12-3-3 in their last 18 games.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Max McCormick scored for the Senators, who played catch-up most of the game. Craig Anderson stopped 36 shots.

”It seemed that our turnovers and the bad bounces end up in the back of our net, and when it was on the other side it didn’t happen,” Senators coach Guy Boucher said. ”Their goalie made really big, key saves at big moments and I really thought definitely we deserved more goals than that, so too bad.”

Nashville struck first on the power play when Josi fired a one-timer from above the right faceoff circle that beat Anderson glove side midway through the first period.

”Sometimes with the power play that’s just how it goes Authentic Lonnie Chisenhall Jersey ,” Josi said. ”Sometimes you play really well – you have a lot of chances, but they don’t go in. You’ve just got to make sure you don’t get frustrated and keep it simple.”

The Predators went ahead 2-0 about five minutes later when Arvidsson poked home a shot from the left side of the crease after receiving a backhanded pass from Ryan Johansen.

Ottawa got its first goal on the power play with just under four minutes left in the first when Pageau stuffed home a rebound in front of the crease that beat Rinne glove side.

Ellis scored on the power play when he blasted a one-timer by Anderson, who was screened by Sissons, to increase Nashville’s lead to 3-1 at 6:34 of the second period.

Ottawa answered 1:31 later on McCormick’s wrist shot. Just under two minutes elapsed before the Predators went ahead by two goals again on Arvidsson’s second of the night. His 20 goals lead the team.

Smith ended the scoring when he roofed a wrist shot over a sprawling Anderson at 8:15 of the third period.

RENTON Adidas Corey Crawford Jersey , Wash. (AP) Maybe it’s best the Seattle Seahawks don’t have time to dwell on what went wrong.

By the time Monday afternoon rolled around, the Seahawks were trying to put the mistakes of Sunday’s 17-14 loss to Washington behind them, knowing they had barely 72 hours to prepare for Thursday’s divisional game at Arizona.

But it was hard to ignore such a sloppy performance by the Seahawks that featured 16 penalties, two turnovers, three missed field goals and Washington scoring with less than a minute remaining to walk out of Seattle with an unlikely victory.

Article continues below ...

”We’ve got some real serious stuff we’ve got to get better at Jonathan Allen Jersey Elite ,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.

Carroll was not in the best of moods Monday, with the continued penalty problems at the top of the list. But he also was irritated by Blair Walsh’s three missed field goals, quarterback Russell Wilson sometimes escaping the pocket too early, and his defense surrendering two big plays on Washington’s final drive.

The Seahawks have shown flaws throughout the first half of the season, but Sunday was the first time so many of them had surfaced in the same game.

”We have so much to improve and I am surprised somewhat that we’re not further along in these areas that I’m talking about right now Authentic Justin Jones Jersey ,” Carroll said. ”These are things that we really can control and we have a chance to be good.”

The 16 penalties were the second-most in franchise history and the most by any team in the NFL this season. Carroll was particularly miffed that 10 of the penalties came against the offense and all of them left Seattle facing long-yardage situations. All five offensive linemen were flagged at least once.

Seattle has never been the cleanest team with penalties, but the Seahawks already have games of 16 and 15 penalties this season, the most in Carroll’s tenure.

”It’s a group thing when you have a bunch like this, but it comes down to individual choices and making good decisions and doing things right,” Carroll said. ”So we’re going to jump all over it with another emphasis.”

There was also concern about Walsh’s confidence moving forward after an awful kicking game. Walsh missed wide left from 39 Kemoko Turay Super Bowl LI Jersey , 44 and 49 yards all in the first half and left Seattle facing a 7-2 deficit at halftime.

Walsh had been 12 of 13 on the season going into Sunday’s game, and Carroll said the Seahawks would not be making a change.

”He’s been great. He’s been kicking like crazy and we are expecting him to get right back to that,” Carroll said.

Then there was the final drive when Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins hit two long passes that led to the winning touchdown. Seattle remained aggressive with its defensive calls after being criticized in the past for playing too soft in late-game situations.

This time, the aggressiveness got the better of them. Rather than playing zone, the Seahawks had their cornerbacks in the face of the wide receivers at the line of scrimmage. So when Brian Quick and Josh Doctson got separation from Justin Coleman and Shaquill Griffin there was no other defenders there to help. Quick’s 31-yard catch was the precursor to Doctson’s 38-yard reception to the 1-yard line – beating Griffin – that set up Rob Kelley’s winning TD run with 59 seconds left.

”I feel like the mistake that I made Authentic Tony Watson Jersey , I almost got relaxed on that play. Looking for (the ball), I couldn’t find it and that’s the mistake that I made,” Griffin said. ”That’s something I’ve got to move on from too. He made a hell of a catch. That was a hell of a throw and it sucks to see a ball game go away like that.”

NOTES: Carroll said it’s too early to know if FS Earl Thomas (hamstring) and DT Sheldon Richardson (oblique) will be able to play against the Cardinals after both were inactive on Sunday. … DE Marcus Smith (concussion) was not at the facility on Monday and is in the concussion protocol. ”He might be out a little bit,” Carroll said. … FB Tre Madden will be out due to a calf injury.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) Jay Gruden would rather coach against Carson Wentz once every four years instead of twice each season.

He can blame the Cleveland Browns.

When the Browns traded the No. 2 pick in the 2016 draft to Philadelphia for a slew of draft picks Cheap Rashaan Gaulden Jersey , the Eagles selected Wentz. He’s been the franchise quarterback they expected.

Article continues below ...

Wentz has started every game since his arrival, going 12-10. The Eagles (5-1) lead the NFC East and are first in the conference entering Monday night’s game against Gruden and the Washington Redskins (3-2).

”I think he’s progressed at a rate as fast as anybody I’ve seen really,” Gruden said about Wentz. ”His ability to make plays in the pocket, his ability to stay in the pocket in the face of a rush and still deliver balls accurately, his command of the offense.”

Wentz is one of the favorites to win the NFL MVP award, according to oddsmakers. Meanwhile, the Browns are 1-21 since the trade and have used five starting quarterbacks.

That’s Cleveland’s problem. But it bothers Gruden, too.

”I think he’s already proven this short in his career that he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the league Authentic Randy Johnson Jersey , quite frankly, and he’s going to be for a long time,” Gruden said. ”And I don’t know how he got to Philadelphia. And I’m very upset about that.”

The Redskins beat the Eagles twice last season, but Wentz led Philadelphia to a 30-17 win at Washington in Week 1. His magic act to escape a sack and toss a 58-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor on the opening series set the tone for the success he’s having.

Wentz has completed 60.9 percent of his passes for 1,584 yards, 13 TDs and only three interceptions. He’s seventh in passer rating at 99.6.

”Every week it seems like we’re playing against an excellent quarterback, and knowing that Wentz is going to be there for a long period of time just puts a few more gray hairs on my head,” Gruden said. ”But love the competition Authentic Josh Sweat Jersey , and it’s our job to get after him and make him uncomfortable.”

Wentz and the Eagles are well ahead of schedule. They weren’t expected to be serious contenders until next season. But Wentz has taken a giant leap from his rookie season and his teammates have jumped on board.

”When we’re sitting where we’re at right now, we can just never let that slip,” Wentz said. ”We can never let that slip from our preparation in the film room, the meeting room, the weight room, in practice, so that’s just something I feel like we have to always keep focusing on. Never settle, never settle Authentic Jon Lester Jersey , and just keep striving for that greatness.”

The Eagles can’t get carried away with early success. They learned the hard way last season. Wentz led them to a 3-0 start. Then came a bye and nine losses in the next 11 games.

”We’re made different this year,” Wentz said. ”We have a different character make-up in that locker room, and nobody’s going to ever settle for anything less than greatness. So we’re going to go out there every day and attack it.”

The Redskins have no slouch at quarterback, either. Kirk Cousins has completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 1,334 yards, nine TDs, two interceptions and a passer rating of 106.4.

Unlike Wentz, Cousins doesn’t have job security. He’s playing a second consecutive season on the franchise tag and faces uncertainty next spring.

”I have a lot of respect for him in this: he wasn’t a first-round draft pick Authentic Matt Adams Jersey ,” Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said. ”He earned his way in. He earned his way into a starting position, and he kept it, and he’s produced when he’s been on the field.

”He’s made plays with his arm. He’s made plays with his leg. He’s a smart player. He puts them in good positions. They have a lot of checks at the line of scrimmage. Most teams do now, but he does a good job of controlling the run game. He’s a good quarterback.”

ST. PAUL Authentic Rashaan Gaulden Jersey , Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Wild returned home from Winnipeg and regrouped to roar back in their first-round playoff series.

The Jets were a late arrival for Game 3 in more ways than one.

Mikael Granlund and Zach Parise had power-play goals in the first period for the spark that was missing on the road, and the Wild scored four times in the second to beat the Jets 6-2 on Sunday night.

Article continues below ...

”We’re here to play,” goalie Devan Dubnyk said, ”and we’re fully capable of pushing hard.”

The Wild will try to tie the best-of-seven series 2-2 when they host Game 4 on Tuesday night.

”They have been physical so we’ve got to push back,” said Jordan Greenway, who scored his first NHL goal just 20 seconds after Eric Staal sent a wrist shot past a struggling Connor Hellebuyck. Fighting pucks all night, Hellebuyck was pulled for Steve Mason at the second intermission.

Matt Dumba and Marcus Foligno bookended the furious middle frame with goals for the Wild Authentic Bob Feller Jersey , who won a postseason home game for only the second time in their last nine contests. Mikko Koivu and Nick Seeler each had two assists and Dubnyk made 29 saves, keeping the crowd loud all night.

Blake Wheeler and Tyler Myers scored for the Jets.

”We’re in a series here,” said Hellebuyck, who made 16 saves. ”We’re going to lose one once in a while. It’s how we respond to the next one.”

After overtaking the Wild with two third-period goals to win 3-2 in Game 1 and dominating the action in Game 2 on the way to a 4-1 victory, the Jets hit some minor turbulence. The blizzard that blanketed the Twin Cities forced their charter flight to land in Duluth on Saturday afternoon and return to Winnipeg for the night. The Jets skipped the customary morning skate and arrived Sunday about eight hours before faceoff.

Whether or not the Jets were actually affected by the weather hardly mattered, given the way the Wild greeted them after the lackluster performance in Game 2.

”I don’t know if it made us worse, but I can say for a fact that it certainly didn’t make us better Authentic Johnny Townsend Jersey ,” Jets coach Paul Maurice said.

The only shot the Jets sent on target over the first 11-plus minutes was the one by Wheeler that went in, a wide-angle attempt on the power play and a softie if there ever was one in keeping with Dubnyk’s uncanny tendency to let fluke goals get by him while making many more high-degree-of-difficulty stops. Dubnyk also gave up a goal on the first shot in a couple of games late in the regular season.

”And then he shut the door. So I wasn’t worried,” Wild coach Bruce Boudreau said. ”I thought, `OK. This is going to work.”’

The Wild snapped right back. Koivu took the initial shot that set up both goals in the first period, with Granlund waiting for the rebound on the first one . Parise freed himself from a tie-up in traffic with Jacob Trouba to move in position for the redirect of the second one .

Myers brought the decibel level down with his slap shot that cut the lead to 3-2 , but the Wild killed consecutive penalties with only about a minute between power plays soon after that to retake momentum. Then came the goals by Greenway and Staal, and the rout was on.

”When when that second period started Adidas Patrick Kane Jersey , we weren’t able to get faster,” Wheeler said. ”And that’s when the game changed. They stuck with it, and we just weren’t able to get to our speed we needed.”

The second period went from bad to worse for the Jets, when Myers was checked by Foligno and caught his skate at the bottom of the boards. He needed help off the ice and into the locker room and did not return. Maurice had no update on the defenseman’s condition, but without elaborating he suggested the injury could have been avoided.

”Didn’t love it,” Maurice said, referring to both the hit and the outcome.

There was a lot to like Wholesale Courtland Sutton Jersey , at least, about the Wild’s performance. All four lines produced at least one goal, and the rookie defenseman Seeler had a breakout game in the back with four blocked shots and a breakaway shot that hit the post and barely stayed in front of the line.

”That’s playoff hockey. You need everybody,” Staal said. ”You don’t win unless you have four lines and all your defensive core going.”

NOTES

The Wild set a franchise postseason record for goals in a home game. Their high was a 7-2 victory at Vancouver in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals on May 5, 2003. … After clinching their first-round series with a win in Game 6 at Xcel Energy Center in 2015 over St. Louis, the Wild lost both home games in a sweep by Chicago. The Philadelphia Eagles (9-1) have the best record in the NFL thanks to a group of players who put team goals ahead of personal goals.

The guys want to win and it doesn’t matter who is hot in the game. They have bought in 100 percent and they prepare that way, and they’re all making plays and all contributing.”

None of Philadelphia’s receivers has a 100-yard game this season, and the only 100-yard rushing performance came from Blount in Week 4.

They don’t care about the numbers.

Four offensive players scored TDs in a 37-9 rout at Dallas on Sunday night http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/fred-warner-jersey , including Kenjon Barner. He’s the fourth running back behind Ajayi, Blount and rookie Corey Clement, who is tied with Jeffery and Zach Ertz for most TDs on the team with six.

Ajayi has 168 yards rushing on only 15 carries in two games since the Eagles acquired him from the Dolphins. He averaged 20 rushes per game in Miami but was getting only 3.4 yards per carry. He’s thriving behind Philadelphia’s offensive line.

”It’s definitely not what I’m used to, but at the same time it’s exciting to see all of us make plays,” Ajayi said. ”For me whenever the number is called http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/jonathan-cooper-jersey , just make your plays count and take advantage of your opportunities. ”Anybody every week can step up and just be that guy, and the way we can just be flexible and spread the ball around is what makes us hard to defend,” Wentz said.

NOTES: Pederson said kicker Jake Elliott is in concussion protocol. Elliott was injured making a tackle on the opening kickoff. He stayed in to kick an extra point and came out after missing a 34-yard field goal. LB Kamu Grugier-Hill handled kickoff duties the rest of the game, and the Eagles went for 2-pointers after scores http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.com/royce-freeman-jersey , converting 3 of 4. Elliott replaced Caleb Sturgis, who was placed on injured reserve after hurting his hip in Week 1. Sturgis is eligible to return and Pederson said he’s close to being ready. It could end up being a late-week decision. The Eagles host the Chicago Bears (3-7) next Sunday.
