The Calgary Flames have placed assistant captain Troy Brouwer on unconditional waivers with the intention of buying out the remaining two years of his contract.

The move was announced by the team Thursday and will save the Flames $3 million in space under the salary cap in each of the next two seasons.

Brouwer has struggled in two seasons since signing an $18 million Zack Smith Jersey , four-year contract with the Flames in free agency.

The 32-year-old had a career-worst six goals and 22 points in 76 games last season. Overall, Brouwer had 19 goals and 47 points in 150 games with Calgary.

Brouwer was a member of the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. He also played for Washington and St. Louis.

The Flames are continuing their offseason roster shake-up after a late-season collapse led them to miss the playoffs.

Calgary acquired defenseman Noah Hanifin and forward Elias Lindholm in a trade that sent Dougie Hamilton to Carolina in June. The Flames also signed forward James Neal in free agency last month.

More NHL hockey: s://apnews/tag/NHLhockey The Golden State Warriors somehow withstood LeBron James‘ latest brilliance on the NBA Finals stage.

A costly blunder by J.R. Smith and a disputed foul call involving James himself sure helped.

Stephen Curry scored 29 points and the Warriors capitalized on Smith’s mistake that sent the game into overtime, overcoming a 51-point performance by James to beat Cleveland 124-114 in Game 1 on Thursday night.

The game nearly over, James jawed with both Curry and Klay Thompson, then Tristan Thompson and Draymond Green tangled moments later and made contact. After replay review, Tristan Thompson received a Flagrant 2 foul and ejection with 2.6 seconds left.

James was in utter disbelief as regulation ended stunningly: George Hill made the first of two free throws with 4.7 seconds left after being fouled by Klay Thompson, but when Smith secured the rebound of the second, he dribbled back toward halfcourt instead of shooting, apparently thinking the Cavs had a lead.

”He thought it was over. He thought we were up one Zach Werenski Jersey ,” coach Tyronn Lue said.

Yet Smith insisted he knew the score. Green figured Smith was simply looking for James, saying, ”I would have looked for LeBron, too.”

”I just thought we were going to call a timeout. Because I got the rebound, I’m pretty sure I couldn’t shoot it over KD,” Smith said of Kevin Durant. ”If I thought we were ahead, I would have just held on to the ball so they could foul me. Clearly that wasn’t the case.”

Instead, OT.

And why not? Both these teams were pushed to their limits in seven-game conference finals they each had to win on the road.

”I can’t talk about a situation that way because I do some dumb stuff on the court,” Durant said of how the fourth quarter finished. ”I don’t know what was going through J.R.’s head. He made a great rebound and gave them an opportunity to win the basketball game.”

Game 2 is Sunday night back at Oracle Arena Jamie Benn Jersey , where the Warriors have won 18 of their last 19 postseason games. In 2015, when the Golden State beat the Cavs to capture the franchise’s first title in 40 years, the first two games of the series went to OT – Golden State winning the opener and Cleveland Game 2.

James shot 19 for 32 to go with eight assists and eight rebounds in the opener of his eighth straight NBA Finals and ninth overall, as well as Cavs-Warriors Take IV. James notched his eighth 40-point game during this playoff run to tie Hall of Famer Jerry West’s feat in 1965 for most in a single postseason.

”We’ve got to move on,” James said. ”This game is over and done with. We had opportunities.”

James drove past Curry for a three-point play with 50 seconds remaining in the fourth. But James was given a foul following a review with 36.4 seconds left and Durant converted a pair of free throws to tie it at 104.

The call had initially been a charge on 2017 finals MVP Durant and James protested the change – while KD said afterward he thought it was the right decision because ”I knew he was late on the drive and I knew I had my man beat and he came over a little late.”

James called it a ”huge play” and said ”I knew I was outside the charge line.”

”I read that play as well as I’ve read any play in my career, maybe in my life,” James said.

Rules allow officials to go to replay in the final 2 minutes of regulation or in overtime to determine if a defender attempting to draw a charge was in the restricted area. When doing so, they can view if the defender was in a legal guarding position. They decided James wasn’t and changed their original call.

Lue was disgusted to lose this way, saying of the overturned call: ”It’s never been done T.J. Oshie Jersey , ever in the history of the game. And then tonight in the finals on the biggest stage, when our team played well, played our (butt) off, man, it ain’t right.”

Lue added that the way James played, ”to come up robbed, it’s just not right.”

Durant struggled to find his stroke but wound up with 26 points on 8-for-22 shooting and nine rebounds.

Golden State got a serious scare when Thompson went down after Smith slid hard into the Splash Brother’s left leg at the 6:17 mark of the first quarter. Thompson lay grimacing in pain then went to the locker room with what was called a bruised left leg that needed re-taping. He returned for the start of the second quarter to huge roars from the yellow-clad sellout crowd and scored 24 points. He and Curry each connected on five 3s.

Curry drained one of those way-out-there 3-pointers that have been hard to come by this postseason to beat the halftime buzzer and Golden State shot 13 for 36 from deep.

Kevin Love returned from a concussion to provide a big boost for Cleveland with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

The Warriors missed the defensive presence of 2015 NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, who was out for a fifth straight postseason game dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated ahead of Game 2.

Everybody expects another wild one with so much talent on both sides.

”It was a crazy game,” Curry said. ”… The finals Adrian Kempe Jersey , man, anything is liable to happen.”

COSTA MESA Tyler Seguin Jersey , Calif. (AP) — Chargers rookie defensive back Derwin James has been steadily improving throughout training camp, but the next two weeks should be a better indicator of how much the first-round pick will be able to contribute this season.

Los Angeles faces potent quarterbacks and passing attacks in its next two games. The Chargers host Seattle and Russell Wilson on Saturday while New Orleans and Drew Brees will be in for two days of joint workouts next week before their game on Aug. 24.

“Every week is going to be a challenge. You’re competing against the best, so that pretty much tells you where you stand,” said James, the 17th overall selection in this year’s draft.

James should expect to see plenty of snaps Saturday. In last week’s exhibition opener at Arizona, he was on the field for 29 plays in a 24-17 loss to the Cardinals. That was the most among defensive backs and tied for second-most on defense.

He also saw more reps during training camp practices this week as some of the veterans got rest days. He had two pass breakups on deep routes during 11-on-11 drills on Wednesday.

Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley has lauded James for his high football intelligence, and said he has picked things up pretty quickly in the classroom. But Bradley notes that what James is going through right now is common with all rookies.

“Now, it’s coming out on the field and putting it together. He’s in that phase right now, but it’s coming,” Bradley said. “If he makes a mistake Sonny Milano Jersey , he knows right now. It’s just that next step, which you see sometimes with young guys. You have to work not to think anymore, and he’s kind of at that stage.”

Bradley is playing James in packages similar to what he had the past three seasons at Florida State. He is lining up at safety in base packages but is also seeing some time at linebacker in nickel or dime situations.

James notes, though, that his biggest adjustment is knowing different formations, since most college teams run more of a spread with some up-tempo. James said Bradley’s system is simpler than what he had in college.

“He doesn’t ask you to do too much. It’s pretty self-explanatory what he’s teaching us,” James said. “It allows us to play fast. You have to really do your job. It’s less work, but it’s more efficient work.”

Wide receiver Mike Williams, who went against James while at Clemson, said he hasn’t noticed James struggling during practices Riley Nash Jersey , especially when the two are matched up against each other in drills.

“He goes out there and makes a lot of plays. He has a big body back there at safety and isn’t afraid of contact. He wants to hit you,” Williams said.

James said he is anxious to take part in the Chargers’ first home game Saturday at StubHub Center, but he is still focusing on continuing to improve his technique and trying to eliminate penalties with three weeks remaining until the season opener on Sept. 9 against Kansas City.

“There’s not a lot of room for error. One step wrong and a guy is going the distance. You really have to hone in on what they’re telling you and what you’re doing,” he said. “It’s much different than high school where I can get away with a lot of stuff because I was more athletic than most guys. Now you have to come out here and do what you need to do.”

Vancouver coach Travis Green did a double take when he saw Alex Biega doing postgame TV interviews.

Biega got his first goal in over three years, Brandon Sutter had two goals and an assist and the Canucks beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-1 on Tuesday night.

”You don’t see that a lot with the Bulldog being interviewed after his game-winner, so I had to get a picture of it,” Green said about Biega with a smile.

Biega, who last scored on Feb. 16, 2015, blasted a slap shot from the corner of the blue-line that cleared traffic and found the net John Hayden Jersey , giving Vancouver a 2-1 lead three minutes into the third.

”The other (goal) was around the same spot, so I think I’m going to have to shoot pucks after practice around that spot,” Biega said.

Sam Gagner also scored for Vancouver, which has won three of four since losing seven straight. Jacob Markstrom stopped 23 shots.

Andrew Cogliano scored for the Ducks, who wrapped a four-game trip and are on a 5-1-1 stretch.

The loss dropped Anaheim into a tie with the Los Angeles Kings for third in the Pacific Division, though the Kings have a game in hand. The teams play Friday night.

”We’ve got probably two of the biggest games of the year coming up, L.A. on Friday night and Colorado on Sunday,” coach Randy Carlyle said. ”That pretty much sums it up, it’s desperation time for everybody and we’re going to have to play to a higher level than we did tonight.”

Anaheim’s John Gibson made 26 saves. He has been dominant against Vancouver, coming into the game 6-1-1 with a 1.37 goals-against average and three shutouts against the Canucks.

Vancouver got to him at 9:53 in the opening period. Daniel Sedin’s shot from the faceoff circle bounced off Gibson and right to Gagner Miles Wood Jersey , who batted in the rebound.

Markstrom made two big saves in the second period. The first off a 3-on-2 with Ryan Getzlaf setting up Andrew Cogliano and the second on Corey Perry shooting from inside the slot.

Markstrom later made a gaffe that lead to the Ducks’ tying goal. The puck took an odd bounce off the stanchion during a dump-in, and Markstrom was caught stranded as Cogliano whipped the errant puck in.

”If we win 4-1 and that is the goal that beat me I’ll take that any day,” Markstrom said. ”It’s frustrating when it happens, but if we win 4-1, I’ll take that goal any day.”

Sutter made it a two-goal lead when he burst out to a breakaway, hit the side of the net, then collected the puck and flipped it in over an out-of-position Gibson.

Sutter added his second of the night into an empty net with 16 seconds left.

Vincent Jackson hasn’t played in the NFL since October 2016 Jake Guentzel Jersey Kids , but he hadn’t officially retired. Until now.

Jackson has now officially decided to retire, and the Chargers have congratulated him on a great career.

The 35-year-old Jackson retires with impressive career numbers of 540 catches for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns. He had three 1,000-yard seasons with the Chargers and three more 1,000-yard seasons with the Buccaneers.

Jackson was a two-sport athlete at Northern Colorado, playing both football and basketball, and the Chargers liked his athletic makeup enough to take him in the second round of the 2005 NFL draft, even though he hadn’t played against top competition in college. Jackson didn’t do much as a rookie, catching just three passes in his first year, but he eventually developed into a Pro Bowler in San Diego.

After a protracted contract dispute with the Chargers, Jackson eventually left for Tampa Bay and was a Pro Bowler again in his first year there, in 2012. A knee injury ended Jackson’s season in 2016, and he didn’t find a team in 2017. Now he’s deciding to call it a career. It’s been a good one.

Speaking for the first time at the Patriots’ minicamp Anton Stralman Jersey , Tom Brady could have had plenty to talk about had he waited a few hours.

Instead, reports broke later Thursday that one of the New England quarterback’s favorite receivers, Julian Edelman, could be suspended for violating the league’s performance-enhancers policy.

Brady, who turns 41 on Aug. 3, said he never considered retirement during his time away from the team; he did not attend optional workouts. He was not available to address an ESPN report, using unnamed sources, that Edelman, who missed the 2017 season after tearing his right ACL in a preseason game in Detroit, is facing a four-game suspension.

Edelman was the last player on the field for practice and later could be seen having a long talk with Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

According to the report, the 32-year-old Edelman is appealing the suspension, saying he had passed ”hundreds of tests” in the past. If the suspension stands, he would miss a home game against Houston Brendan Leipsic Jersey Kids , at Jacksonville and Detroit, and home against Miami.

The league does not release information on suspensions until they are announced.

Edelman spoke Tuesday and was asked if it was difficult not to push himself to make a faster recovery.

”Yeah, I mean, everyone’s a competitor, so sometimes you’re your worst own enemy when you’re trying to do that,” he said. ”But it is what it is and there’s a big part of the process and I’ve got a lot of guys, training staff helping me out – TB12 (Brady), all that stuff – to get to where I want to be.”

The Patriots’ wide receiver group had already taken on a new look minus Danny Amendola (free agent, Miami) and Brandin Cooks (traded to Arizona). The loss of Edelman would thin the position even more. Malcolm Mitchell, who also missed last season with knee surgery, has yet to return to the field.

The depth chart candidates without Edelman would have one proven veteran in Chris Hogan, plus Mitchell, Kenny Britt Tom Kuhnhackl Jersey , Cordarrelle Patterson, Jordan Matthews, Phillip Dorsett, Riley McCarron, Braxton Berrios and Cody Hollister. Special teams captain Matthew Slater has also lined up at the position, and Patterson generally is a kick returner rather than a wideout.

Brady spoke for less than four minutes.

”It’s obviously important for everybody and our coaches do a great job of getting us ready,” he said. ”Just some personal reasons for me (skipping voluntary workouts), but I’m here now and focused on what I need to do, like I always am, and this year.”

Amid reports of a rift in the organization involving himself, coach Bill Belichick and Kraft, Brady said his relationship with Belichick is, ”great. We’ve always had a great relationship.”

”I’ve been here for a long time and I love this team and I love this organization and I love playing quarterback for him Oscar Dansk Jersey ,” Brady added. ”I loved it last year and I’m having a lot of fun now, so that’s obviously what’s most important to me.”

He refused to speak about any possible reworking of his contract.

”I’ve never talked about my contract,” he said. ”I’ve never brought up money, I think for a lot of reasons that I’ve said over the years. Those things are personal.”

Brady labeled his offseason following the Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia as ”good.”

”I always try to figure out different things I need to do in the offseason to prepare myself and be the best I can be,” he said. ”Obviously, I evaluate last season and things I can do better. I don’t think this offseason was any different for me. I thought about the things I need to do and focused on those things so I can be the best I can be when training camp comes.”

NOTES: Red Sox vice president Tony La Russa was a visitor at camp. ”We’ve been friends for a long time. It’s always good to see Tony,” said Belichick. . TE Dwayne Allen was clearly hobbling after practice. . Belichick stepped in and was mad at his offense, ordering the group to run a lap around the field. Brady, who could be heard yelling an obscenity after the previous play, then hit Rob Gronkowski with the next pass. . Matthews dropped a long throw from Brady. . Thursday was the third and final day of the mandatory camp, with four optional days set for next week.

OAKLAND http://www.officialsharks.com/authentic-adidas-logan-couture-jersey , Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams and Oakland Raiders spent most of the lead-up to the season in the same predicament, with their Defensive Players of the Year holding out while seeking new contracts.

When the teams open the season against each other Monday night in Oakland, that will have changed. The Rams will have last year’s winner of the league’s top defensive award on the field anchoring the middle in Aaron Donald. The Raiders will be without 2016 winner Khalil Mack, who was traded to Chicago.

The Raiders dealt Mack for a package including two first-round draft picks a day after Donald signed a six-year, $135 million deal, with $87 million guaranteed. Oakland was unwilling to pay that price for Mack, forcing defensive coordinator Paul Guenther to shelve plans he made after getting hired on how to use Mack, and proceed the way he approached training camp with the rest of the overhauled defense.

“I think I saw the guy in a restaurant in March one time Olli Maatta Jersey ,” Guenther said. “My kids pointed it out to me, ‘Hey, its Khalil Mack. He’s got the new Jordans on.’ You know, I wouldn’t know. With as many new players we brought in, new coaching staff we just kind of got use to him not being here and operating with what we got, so we are going to move along that way.”

The Raiders spent much of the offseason trying to improve their pass rush by moving Bruce Irvin to a full-time defensive end position, and drafting P.J. Hall, Arden Key and Maurice Hurst. That group helped generate 12 sacks in the preseason and will have plenty of pressure starting Monday night to fill Mack’s void.

“It’s an opportunity for me and the rest of the guys on the D-line Sam Gagner Jersey ,” Key said. “That’s just another opportunity. Khalil Mack is gone. We can’t dwell on it. We have to move forward and somebody has to step up in his spot.”

The Rams said they weren’t exactly upset to see Mack traded, considering he has averaged more than 12 sacks and 60 quarterback pressures over the last three seasons. But they noted they still have to face Mack in Week 14 and that the Raiders’ other rushers present enough of a challenge this week.

“He’s a great player, and he’s not going to be on the team we’re playing this week, but they’ve got plenty of good players, and they’ve got a great defense and a great team that we’re preparing for,” quarterback Jared Goff said. “We’re not thinking very much about Khalil right now.”

The Raiders have plenty to worry about on Los Angeles’ defense now that Donald is back to team with three former All-Pros added this offseason: defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib.

The new-look lineup gives coordinator Wade Phillips one of the game’s best pair of cornerbacks in Peters and Talib, as well as interior rushers in Donald and Suh.

The Raiders have a good idea what to expect with Peters and Talib having spent the past few years in the AFC West; Oakland playing against Suh in Miami last year; and Phillips serving as defensive coordinator in Denver in 2015-16 when he faced the Raiders four times overall.

“They’re all great players Bryan Little Jersey ,” quarterback Derek Carr said. “They have a great team, great defense. Great challenge they present us. Then (defensive coordinator) coach Phillips calling it. I’ve gone against him a number of times. He does his stuff, man, and he’s really good at it. It’s going to be a good challenge for us. I can sit here and talk good things about all those guys. They know how I feel about them, they’re great players.”

The Rams have spent the past week incorporating Donald into the mix after he held out all offseason and training camp. They have experience doing it from last year, when he didn’t report until one day before the season opener and missed the first game.

He’s had more than a week of practice and should be ready for the opener for what could be the most star-packed defense in the league.

“We haven’t played in any games or any meaningful snaps, so we’re still figuring out how to come together as a defense,” coach Sean McVay said. “You feel good about those two players and some of the other guys that will play with them up front. It looks good right now Joel Edmundson Jersey , but it’s about playing together as a unit and doing a great job against what we know is going to be an excellent challenge with a great offense on Monday night.”

The Browns are trading cornerback Jamar Taylor to the Cardinals in a move that opens up a spot on their roster.

They’ll be filling it with a player recently let go by the Seahawks. Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Browns have claimed defensive end Marcell Frazier off of waivers.

Frazier started聽13 games at the University of Missouri last year and was named second-team All-SEC. He recorded 40 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks in his final college season.

The Browns have Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah at the top of the depth chart at defensive end. Chris Smith, Carl Nassib and 2018 third-rounder Chad Thomas round out the group in Cleveland.

UPDATE 4:38 p.m. ET: The Browns announced Frazier’s acquisition. They also waived linebacker Austin Calitro.

Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife Kris Letang Jersey , Morgan, hope that by talking about their 19-month daughter’s drowning death, they can prevent other parents from experiencing such heartbreak.

The couple appeared in their first public interview Monday on NBC’s ”Today” show.

Morgan described visiting her neighbor’s home with their children in June when she realized that daughter Emmy was missing. She saw a sliver of light coming from the door leading to the backyard and said her ”heart sank.” She opened the door and saw her child floating in the pool.

Their child died the next day at a hospital. Bode Miller said her brain went too long without oxygen.

Bode Miller said talking about her death helps them to heal and maybe helps prevent it from happening to other parents.

The Buffalo Bills are shuffling punters by claiming Corey Bojorquez off waivers and releasing Colton Schmidt.

The Bills also claimed cornerback Ryan Lewis on Sunday Authentic Conor Sheary Jersey , a week before Buffalo opens the season at Baltimore. Bojorquez and Lewis were claimed after being released by the New England Patriots over the past two days.

Bojorquez is an undrafted rookie free agent after spending the past two seasons at New Mexico. He earned honorable mention All-America honors last season by finishing fourth in the nation and setting a single-season school record by averaging 47.3 yards per punt.

He replaces Schmidt, who spent four seasons in Buffalo. Schmidt was cut despite ranking second on the team list with a career 44.1-yard gross punting average.

Lewis was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Pittsburgh last year, and spent the season on the Patriots' practice squad.

The Bills also began stocking their practice squad by signing eight players http://www.officiallightningprostore.com/authentic-adidas-mikhail-sergachev-jersey , all of whom were cut by the team a day earlier.

Buffalo signed safety Dean Marlowe, receiver Cam Phillips, running back Keith Ford Olli Maatta Jersey , linebacker Corey Thompson, cornerback Levi Wallace, defensive end Mike Love and offensive linemen Gerhard de Beer and De'Ondre Wesley.

GREEN BAY Authentic Conor Sheary Jersey , Wis. (AP) One of the first passes thrown by Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay Packers camp was as noteworthy for who was competing for the ball as much as the play’s result.

Cornerback Kevin King, locked in coverage deep against receiver Randall Cobb, appeared to wrestle away an interception, though the ever-competitive quarterback disputed that call.

Coach Mike McCarthy took a diplomatic approach.

”Yeah, I’m a head coach so I thought it was an excellent play by both guys,” McCarthy said Friday, drawing laughs. ”I like the way Randall finished with the ball but I like the position that Kevin was in.”

Outcome aside, the most important takeaway might be that two players who could be pivotal to Green Bay’s success are healthy again.

Cobb revealed Friday that he had ankle surgery after offseason workouts. He was spotted at an airport with a walking boot on his right foot last month.

Doctors ”went in and pretty much just removed a piece of cartilage that was giving me some problems Alex Killorn Jersey Kids ,” Cobb said . ”Obviously not that big of a deal. But feeling a lot better than I did before.”

Enough so that the senior member of the Packers receiving corps is a full go in camp .

”I think the first call, the first play … where the ball goes deep to Randall, I think that tells you the kind of shape (Cobb is in),” McCarthy said.

Cobb’s health is important for a receiving corps that lost Jordy Nelson after the respected veteran was cut in the offseason in a money-saving move. It left Cobb and Davante Adams as the Packers’ top wideouts, plus a bevy of young players competing for targets that once went to Nelson.

”At this point, it’s just getting my conditioning back. I was here the entire offseason working with our strength and conditioning staff trying to get back and get right,” Cobb said.

King had left shoulder surgery after his injury-shortened rookie year. The shoulder maligned him for much of last season, and King was limited to individual workouts in the offseason as he recovered.

But King is a full go now William Nylander Jersey , and his interception against Cobb in practice Thursday offered a glimpse of King’s full potential when healthy. He is talented enough to be the Packers’ top cornerback.

King wasn’t done. On the next play, he broke up a throw for receiver Geronimo Allison and ended up hitting the ground.

”I could have done that last year,” King said in the locker room.

Maybe, but he might have been in pain.

The shoulder no longer hurts, King said. The injury during his rookie season also sharpened his mental game.

”Mentally, it elevated me. It’s been positive for me,” King added.

A healthy King could do wonders at a cornerback position beleaguered by injuries the last couple of years. The 6-foot-3 King has the length to play effective press coverage for new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.

Now King just needs to stay on the field after making 31 tackles in nine games last season, including five starts.

”There’s no question about Kevin’s ability and his level of talent and the ability to play Kris Letang Jersey ,” McCarthy said. ”Yes, he made two competitive plays on the ball. … The biggest thing I’m happy about is Kevin’s healthy and he’s come back from the shoulder surgery and is off to a good start.”

NOTES: OLB Nick Perry, who is starting camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list, said he had no concerns about being ready for the opener on Sept. 9 against Chicago. Perry, who had offseason ankle surgery, and Clay Matthews are the veteran leaders at a position otherwise short on experience and production. ”We’re still going to take it one day at a time just to make sure that everything goes smoothly and I’m here for the long haul,” Perry said. … Rodgers and TE Jimmy Graham showed rapport in connecting for some tough pass plays during team drills. Graham was signed in the offseason as a free agent. … A pass from Rodgers over the middle during a two-minute drill was picked off at the goal line by ILB Blake Martinez. … Two backups, QB DeShone Kizer and TE Robert Tonyan Justin Braun Jersey Kids , connected on a 15-yard scoring pass in coverage for the offense’s only score in two-minute drill work.

The Tennessee Titans say they are releasing defensive lineman Karl Klug after seven years with the franchise.

General manager Jon Robinson said Friday that he appreciates all of Klug’s hard work with Tennessee.

A fifth-round pick in 2011 out of Iowa, Klug started eight of his 109 games played for the Titans. Klug had 178 tackles, 21 sacks, 67 quarterback pressures and forced five fumbles. He returned a recovered fumble for a touchdown in 2013 against the Jets.

Klug had 26 tackles and 1 sacks in 15 games last season in his return from a torn Achilles tendon at the end of the 2016 season. That earned him the Titans’ Ed Block Courage Award.

The Cleveland Browns traded their third quarterback of the offseason Jonathan Marchessault Jersey , sending Kevin Hogan to the Washington Redskins.

The teams announced the deal Friday that includes swapping sixth-round picks. Cleveland acquires the 188th pick from Washington for No. 205, which it previously acquired from New England for cornerback Jason McCourty.

Hogan follows Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer out the door in Cleveland. The Browns acquired cornerback Damarious Randall as part of the Kizer trade with Green Bay that included flip-flopping fifth-round picks, and got a 2019 seventh-rounder from Jacksonville for Kessler.

Cleveland, which has the first overall pick in the draft Sidney Crosby Jersey , also traded with Buffalo for Tyrod Taylor, the expected starter, and signed veteran Drew Stanton to a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old Hogan has thrown for 621 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions and rushed for a score in eight games with Cleveland Joel Armia Jersey Kids , including one start. The McLean, Virginia, native will compete with established No. 2 QB Colt McCoy to back up recently acquired Alex Smith.

"I thought it was a good drive by our offense Olli Maatta Jersey , a good mix of run and pass," Garrett said. "Dak made some good decisions. He made a really nice run too keep the drive alive. We got the one-on-one opportunity down the sideline. Michael made a really good release and it was a good throw and catch."

Nick Mullens threw a 7-yard TD pass to Richie James Jr. with 18 seconds left to cap the comeback. Jeremy McNichols scored on a 1-yard run with 4:24 to go for San Francisco.

San Francisco's Jimmy Garoppolo didn't fare as well as Prescott in his first game action since signing a $137.5 million, five-year contract this offseason. Garoppolo completed 3 of 6 passes on his one drive.

"We're trying to do something different things and see what works and what doesn't," Garoppolo said. "We haven't been in that situation in a year and you try to get things rolling."

More concerning for the 49ers was the fact that six players left with injuries in the first half with the most concerning ones being shoulder injuries to tight end George Kittle and running back Matt Breida that could sideline them for "some time," according to coach Kyle Shanahan.

"It's what you scares you about training camp Michael Hutchinson Jersey , it's what scares you about the preseason," Shanahan said. "You just want the game to end."

Prescott sat out the first exhibition game last season but got one series of action against the 49ers this year and looked sharp. He completed all three of pass attempts and converted a third-and-9 with a 12-yard scramble.

He capped his night with the deep ball to Gallup, who beat Jimmie Ward down the sideline. Ward got the start at cornerback in place of Richard Sherman, who is nursing a hamstring injury.

With the release of three-time Pro Bowl receiver Dez Bryant and the retirement of 15-year tight end Jason Witten, the Cowboys are searching for receiving threats this preseason. Gallup http://www.officialcanucks.com/authentic-adidas-henrik-sedin-jersey , a third-round pick out of Colorado State, has been impressive so far in camp.

"That's a good feeling," Gallup said. "Especially for me being so young and being a rookie and everything, I needed that boost of confidence. It was a good feeling."

NATIONAL ANTHEM

No players on either team kneeled during the national anthem, although 49ers receiver Marquise Goodwin did raise his right fist throughout the song. The Niners have been at the center of the protests during national anthem ever since Colin Kaepernick began kneeling two years ago. Eric Reid protested last year but both players are no longer with the team. Linebacker Eli Harrold also kneeled during the anthem the past two years but stood to start this season.

INJURIES

The Niners had a parade of injuries early Yanni Gourde Jersey , starting with LB Malcolm Smith limping off with a hamstring issue on the opening drive. TE George Kittle and backup RB Matt Breida left with shoulder injuries. Thomas and backup tackle Garry Gilliam were sidelined by concussions and Harrold had a lower leg injury.

Cowboys OL Marcus Martin limped off the field in the second half with a toe injury, S Marqueston Huff left with a groin injury, and WR Marchie Murdock had an ankle injury.

NOTEWORTHY PERFORMANCES

Joe Thomas got the start at linebacker for Dallas in place of Sean Lee and delivered an interception against C.J. Beathard on a tipped pass by Kavon Frazier. ... Cowboys rookie RB Bo Scarbrough had a 28-yard run and scored a 1-yard TD in the second quarter. ... James had four catches for 46 yards and fellow rookie Dante Pettis caught a 53-yard pass .

HELMET FOUL

There was one penalty under the new rule prohibiting players from leading with their helmets. San Francisco LB Elijah Lee was called for the infraction on a tackle against Scarbrough in the third quarter.

Rather than retire Youth C.J. Mosley Jersey , Frank Gore is joining his hometown team.

The NFL’s active rushing leader agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Thursday. The person confirmed the agreement to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal won’t be final until Gore passes a physical.

Gore, who turns 35 next month, grew up in South Florida and played for the Miami Hurricanes. He rushed for 961 yards for Indianapolis last year Marcus Mariota Jersey Big , and when the Colts decided against trying to re-sign him, there was speculation the 2017 season might have been his last.

But the Dolphins want to give the durable Gore a chance to provide depth at running back behind Kenyan Drake, who became Miami’s starter last year and averaged 4.8 yards per carry.

Miami also kept defensive end William Hayes, signing him to a one-year contract. Hayes Womens Philip Rivers Jersey , acquired by Miami in a trade a year ago, played in 10 games as a backup in 2017 before being placed on injured reserve because of a back injury.

Gore has rushed for 14,026 yards in his NFL career to rank fifth on the all-time list. He spent three seasons with the Colts, and in 2016 became the league’s oldest 1 Womens Terrell Suggs Jersey ,000-yard rusher since John Riggins in 1982.

Gore also played for the San Francisco 49ers and has started every game since 2011.

New Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich has officially named Matt Eberflus as his defensive coordinator and Nick Sirianni as offensive coordinator.

He also hired Bubba Ventrone as special teams coordinator and Rusty Jones as director of sports performance.

Eberflus was hired before Reich was named coach Monday. General manager Chris Ballard said the Colts would honor the contract with Eberflus, who was Dallas' linebackers coach since 2011 and their passing game coordinator since 2016.

Sirianni spent the last five seasons with the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers in charge of receivers, quarterbacks and as the offensive quality control coach.

Ventrone was the New England Patriots assistant special teams coach the last three seasons.

Jones received the NFL's 2016 strength and conditioning Lifetime Achievement award after long stints in Chicago and Buffalo.

The crop of young players added to the Eagles for the 2018 season will go beyond just their 2018 draft picks. It’s possible that a 2017 draft pick could be the team’s best newcomer.

That player is Sidney Jones Youth Greg Olsen Jersey , who was selected by the Eagles in the second round of last year’s draft. A cornerback from Washington, Jones had been viewed as a first-round prospect until tearing his Achilles tendon at his Pro Day workout. That allowed the Eagles to get him in the second round.

The injury was bad news for Jones, who only saw the field once as a rookie, in the Eagles’ meaningless Week 17 finale. But now that he’s fully healthy, he’s turning heads in Organized Team Activities Stefon Diggs Jersey Big , according to SI.com. Jones grabbed an interception in the end zone during the portion of practice that was open to reporters this week.

What role Jones will have in the secondary remains to be seen, but he’s been practicing as a starter in the slot. The Eagles are hoping he proves himself to be more than worth the wait.

Tossing catfish onto the ice has been a popular hockey tradition in Music City and the Nashville Predators finally have their own catfish tank inside the arena.

Team President Sean Henry unveiled the new tank hours before the Predators opened the NHL postseason against Colorado in their first-round Western Conference series. The team put the first of four catfish into the tank and No. 2 was on the way.

”Good symbolism with those four catfish,” Henry said. ”Four wins per series, four series gets you to the ultimate prize.”

The Predators named the first catfish Gill and the second fish will be named Ben in honor of a longtime fan that died in 2017.

Thursday is the birthday of singer Vince Gill, also known as the mayor of Smashville Youth Antonio Brown Jersey , and Henry says Gill obviously was the inspiration. Gill was an original season-ticket holder who helped sell tickets when this franchise was getting started, and Gill was featured on billboards around town with a couple of teeth blacked out.

But Henry says Gill also can stand for how the fish breathes or for former Nashville defensemen and current team broadcaster Hal Gill.

Fans will name the other catfish through a social media poll with suggestions so far including Stanley, of course, in honor of the Stanley Cup. Henry said he’s not superstitious about naming a catfish after the Stanley Cup that Nashville wants so badly.

The catfish tradition was a response to Detroit fans tossing octopi on the ice to symbolize the number of wins once needed to win the Stanley Cup. Bob Wolf, who owned a restaurant across the street from the Predators arena Harrison Smith Jersey Big , takes credit for tossing the first catfish Jan. 26, 1999, during a visit by the Red Wings. A catfish was chosen in honor of the nearby Cumberland River.

A fan even tossed a catfish onto the ice during the Predators’ first Stanley Cup Final game in Pittsburgh.

Henry said these catfish will stay in the tank.

”No one’s going to rip it out, no one’s going to be throwing it on the ice,” Henry said. ”But it will be something that is going to be fun.”
