Jalen Ramsey is making headlines from his couch.

Three days after being suspended for screaming obscenities at reporters Youth Matt Nieto Jersey , the Jacksonville Jaguars All-Pro cornerback is criticizing several NFL quarterbacks 鈥?and praising a few.

In an interview with GQ magazine , Ramsey called Buffalo Bills rookie Josh Allen "trash" and said Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was "overrated" and a product of Kyle Shanahan's offensive system.

Baltimore's Joe Flacco, Indianapolis' Andrew Luck and Eli Manning of the New York Giants also got less-than-stellar reviews. Ramsey called Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger "decent at best."

The interview is part of an interesting week for Ramsey, who was suspended for the week after he screamed at media members who were videotaping a post-practice altercation between defensive ends Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue.

"Right now, I haven't even put much thought into it," Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said before a joint practice with the Vikings in Minnesota. "For me Jakub Vrana Jersey , as a guy who had a cup of coffee and played in the league, I respect all the players who are out there. But I haven't looked at the actual stuff. My focus right now is not on that. My focus right now is on our team getting ready to practice."

Ramsey also predicted that Houston's Deshaun Watson and Philadelphia's Carson Wentz would be NFL MVPs down the road. He said Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff was "average to above average" and called Kirk Cousins "a winner."

Ramsey weighed in on two dozen quarterbacks in all. The harshest comments were directed toward Ryan and Allen, the seventh overall draft pick from Wyoming. Buffalo and Jacksonville play in late November.

"I think Allen is trash," Ramsey said. "I don't care what nobody say. He's trash. And it's gonna show too. That's a stupid draft pick to me. We play them this year ... I hope he's their starting quarterback."

Ramsey said Ryan's MVP season in 2016 was due to Shanahan, who was the Falcons' offensive coordinator at the time and is now the San Francisco's head coach.

"I think Matt Ryan's overrated," Ramsey said. "You can't tell me you win MVP two years ago Sonny Milano Jersey , and then last year, you a complete bust, and you still got Julio Jones? There's no way that should ever happen. I don't care. You know what that tells me? That tells me Shanahan left, went to San Francisco, got (Jimmy) Garoppolo, made Garoppolo this big thing. And now Garoppolo is a big name 鈥?and now (Ryan) has this bad year?

"All right Mark Stone Jersey , well, was it really you, or was it your coach? He was doing what was asked of him and it was making him look really, really good."

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals have released safety George Iloka, clearing the way for rookie Jessie Bates III to move into a starting role.

The seventh-year safety has been sharing time during preseason games with Bates, a second-round pick out of Wake Forest who was given a chance to win the job at the outset.

Iloka made 76 starts for the Bengals in the last six seasons. He had nine career interceptions in Cincinnati http://www.officialblues.com/authentic-adidas-dmitrij-jaskin-jersey , but only one last season. He was released Sunday, a day after the Bengals beat the Cowboys 21-13 in Dallas.

Iloka tweeted after the move: “Thankful for the opportunity Cincinnati. To my former teammates, best of luck and stay healthy, you guys have something special brewing there.”

Cory Schneider is no longer the forgotten man on the New Jersey Devils.

It’s amazing what a good game in the playoffs can do for a veteran goaltender relegated to a backup role over the past month because Keith Kinkaid had been playing so well in leading the Devils to their first playoff berth since 2012.

The 32-year-old Schneider got his chance to play in a meaningful game when the Tampa Bay Lightning smoked the Devils in the opening two games of the first-round series Womens Anze Kopitar Jersey , outscoring them 10-5.

The Devils turned to Schneider for Game 3 on Monday night and he made the most of it. He stopped 34 shots in a 5-2 win that allowed New Jersey to cut the Lightning lead in the series to 2-1 with Game 4 scheduled for Wednesday night.

It was his first win since late December and snapped a 0-10-2 personal skid for the likable Devils’ mainstay who was never the same in the final months of the season after sustaining hip and groin injuries in the latter part of January.

”Your job in these situations is to come in and win,” Schneider said Tuesday after not taking part in a skate mostly for players who were scratched on Monday.

”I have said all along, I haven’t tried to veer from what I have been doing. It hasn’t gone my way recently for a number of reasons we don’t have to get into. I just viewed the playoffs as a fresh start, a new season and it didn’t matter what happened before.”

Schneider said there was no need to carry an extra baggage into the playoffs. He was just excited to have a chance to rise to the challenge. He did and so did his teammates in rallying for four third-period goals to get back into the series.

Devils coach John Hynes would not say on Tuesday whether Schneider would start, but it seems a good bet he will.

Hynes said going with Schneider – his No. 1 goaltender the past three seasons- in Game 3 was not a gamble. He had wanted to play him down the stretch of the regular season but Kinkaid was too hot, going 10-1-1 in the 12 games that led to the Devils clinching a playoff berth.

”We felt as a group that Cory had worked hard, he looked good in practice and you could tell that he was itching to play,” Hynes said. ”It just seemed the way the series was going, let’s give him an opportunity to play. I think he was fresh and hungry.”

Hynes said it was nice to see him play well because of how he handled not being the backup, a job that doesn’t attract the media to your locker.

When Schneider came out on Tuesday John Carlson Jersey , a crowd quickly surrounded him.

Brian Boyle, who has more playoff experience than any player on the Devils roster, said having Schneider play well will push Kinkaid.

”There is a lot of internal competition,” Boyle said. ”Guys want to get out and play. Those two want the net. They want to play, and when you play, you want to play more. If you channel energies the right way it will bring position energies for your team.”

The goal for the Devils and Schneider will be to repeat their efforts in Game 4.

”That game is done with. It’s over,” Schneider said of Game 3. ”It doesn’t matter how good you feel about it afterward. It all depends on how you come out the next game. We know they are going to regroup and be ready for us so it should be a good battle.”

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa set an NFL record with 19 sacks in his first 20 career games.

He recorded at least 10 1/2 sacks in each of his first two seasons, but Bosa and the Chargers insist the best is yet to come.

”I think there’s so much I have to work on that I have an idea in my head of what I want things to look like and how I want to be as a player, and I’m not anywhere near those things Brendan Leipsic Jersey Kids , but I know I’m making the right steps in that direction,” Bosa said Sunday.

Cornerback Casey Hayward has never been shy in sharing his belief that Bosa could become the best defender in football. It was only reinforced last season as Bosa’s pass rush skills helped contribute to Hayward intercepting four passes.

”Made my life a lot easier,” Hayward said. ”A couple of my picks last year came off Joey hitting the guy, wobbly ball, I take all of them.”

Entering his third season, the next step in Bosa’s development could come from a better understanding of coordinator Gus Bradley’s 4-3 defense. The Chargers were productive in 2017 while transitioning to Bradley’s system, finishing third in points per game allowed, tied for fifth in sacks, and sixth in takeaways. Those rankings could improve as the coaches, players and front office are more comfortable with what will allow the defense to succeed in this iteration.

The Chargers added depth in the draft Sergei Bobrovsky Jersey , with Bosa praising defensive lineman Justin Jones and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu for their ability to get to the quarterback. The progression of second-year defensive end Isaac Rochell could result in Bosa staying fresh by allowing Bradley to rotate more. The 280-pound Bosa could play inside if Rochell is capable of creating pressure off the edge consistently, allowing Bradley to use his most disruptive players together in obvious passing situations.

Bosa, who had 12 1/2 sacks last season as the bookend to Melvin Ingram, could cause more havoc if opponents cannot focus all their attention on stopping the two standout defensive ends.

”Joey can improve,” coach Anthony Lynn said. ”I don’t think he has reached his peak yet at all, and the better we get on that defensive line and create more one-on-one matchups, that’s going to help his success as well.”

But Bosa will never put a target on his individual production going into his season after recognizing that chasing personal goals often comes at the expense of both the individual and the team.

”If you want to get 15 sacks and you’re out there doing your own things to get sacks, more than likely you’re going to hurt the team and not get a sack rather than you just doing your job and you falling into one,” Bosa said. ”I’ve come to realize when I’m really out there trying to make a play like that, I do something wrong and they’ll break a run or whatever. But if I I stay within myself and the defense Jonathan Huberdeau Jersey , it usually works out pretty well.”

Bosa’s zen mentality carries over to his offseason workouts. He stresses developing his overall athleticism rather than addressing any particular football technique. That regiment makes the first week of training camp something of a transition period, with Bosa joking he is focused on ”lining up right.”

Still, Hayward sees how Bosa approaches the game spilling over to the rest of the team. If Bosa can improve on his momentous initial returns, that bodes well for the Chargers as a whole.

”That’s definitely contagious. You see that, you want to work just as hard as he does,” Hayward said.

NOTES: Rookie tight end Austin Roberts tore his ACL on Saturday, Lynn said. . The Chargers will practice in full pads for the first time Monday.

After every NHL season John Hayden Jersey , teams聽begin scanning the market for possible options to help improve their club for next season and beyond聽whether through trade, drafting,聽or free agency. Every offseason, hundreds of millions of dollars are聽blown on July 1st as most of the聽top free agents find new homes and get a nice payday. Trade speculation always increases around draft day and early on in the free agency period. It's total madness for hockey fans in the summer, and while there are sometimes winners, there is almost always a whole laundry list of losers. These moves can often put a team's GM on the clock to fix his mistakes lest he get fired.

Like in any sport, there are always moves made by managers that end up being regretted almost instantly. There was more movement than usual this offseason because of the Vegas Golden Knights' expansion draft, so teams聽could only protect a certain number of players.聽Though we are only聽heading into the third month of the season, there are already several moves that were made during the summer that look like big mistakes. While the GMs at the time thought these moves would work, hindsight can help them see the error of their ways Bo Horvat Jersey , only far too late. This article will take a look at 15 of those worst moves made from this offseason that teams are wishing they could undo.

The Heisman Trophy that Lamar Jackson earned as a 19-year-old and the 119 touchdowns he produced at Louisville don’t carry any weight at his first NFL training camp.

Just like all the other Baltimore Ravens rookies, Jackson has to prove he can make the transition to the pro game.

And he’s totally fine with it.

”It feels good just being out here with NFL talent,” Jackson said. ”It’s not college or high school anymore. You’re a grown man. You have to show up and show out.”

Jackson played well at minicamp in the spring, and the first-round pick continues to impress this summer. He’s not about to unseat 10-year veteran Joe Flacco, who’s assured the starting job, but the fleet-footed newcomer has turned more than a few heads with his ability to escape a collapsing pocket and sprint downfield.

”He likes to run, very fast,” Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs said. ”He’s very exciting, a young talent, and he approaches the game with the kind of requirement that quarterbacks are held to in this league. He could have a promising career.”

At Louisville Youth John Tavares Jersey , Jackson did it all. He threw 69 touchdown passes and ran for 50 scores before opting to toss his name into the draft after completing a junior season in which he was named a Heisman Trophy finalist for the second year in a row.

Known more for his legs than his arm, the 6-foot-2 Jackson was on the brink of dropping from the first round before the Ravens worked a trade with Philadelphia and nabbed him with the 32nd overall pick.

Eager to blunt any notion that Jackson would compete for the starting job, coach John Harbaugh immediately stressed the job belongs to Flacco. There’s veteran quarterback Robert Griffin III to contend with, too, but instead of considering them rivals, Jackson views them as teachers.

”I’m still learning,” the 21-year-old acknowledged. ”Everything they do, I’m trying to mimic.”

Jackson, however, has his own special skills. The Ravens know it would be foolish to keep him on the bench Philipp Grubauer Jersey , so they’re trying to find creative ways to work him into the offense. At a recent practice, he threw a pass to Flacco, who lined up as a receiver.

”We’re going to see what everybody’s strengths are,” offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said. ”We’ll try to use all of our players that are eligible, we’ll try to use the whole field, we’ll get it to our best players.”

Jackson has impressed his teammates and the coaching staff with his athleticism and willingness to work.

”I’ll tell you what, Lamar’s done just an outstanding job,” Mornhinweg said. ”Everybody in this league has some uncommon tools, and he certainly does. You can see on the practice field. He’s way ahead of the curve now.”

The next step for Jackson – and by far the most significant thus far – is going up against outside competition. Come Thursday night, in the Hall of Fame Game against the Chicago Bears Brandon Manning Jersey , it will be time to see what he’s got.

”I’m looking forward to it,” he said. ”I have to show them my talent in the preseason games.”

It may not be pretty. There might even be an interception or two. Not that it matters.

”With a young player, I don’t think you expect perfection,” Harbaugh said, ”but he looks pretty good out there to me.”

The Ottawa Senators have suspended Randy Lee, the assistant general manager facing a harassment charge from an incident during the NHL’s pre-draft scouting combine.

Lee is charged with second-degree harassment after allegedly making lewd comments and rubbing the shoulders of a 19-year-old male hotel shuttle driver in Buffalo, New York, on May 30. He has pled not guilty and is due in court on July 6.

General manager Pierre Dorion announced the suspension in a statement Friday. Dorion said the suspension is effective immediately and applies to work with the Senators as well as the club’s American Hockey League affiliate in Belleville J.T. Miller Jersey , Ontario.

The move comes a week before the NHL draft in Dallas.

”As our hockey club’s initial statement made clear, our hockey team – and our organization as a whole – will always hold our leaders, coaching staff, players and employees to the highest standards of behavior,” Dorion said in the statement. ”Harassment in any form is unacceptable Roberto Luongo Jersey , whether it occurs inside or outside the work place.”

Lee’s attorney, Paul Cambria, said he had no comment in a text to The Associated Press.

Dorion said the Senators are unaware of any previous complaints against Lee, and that Lee is entitled to due process and the right to address the allegation in court.

”That said, the questions that must be answered by Randy are unlikely to be addressed until his next court date … we believe the best way to live our values and enforce our standards of behavior is to suspend Randy Lee until the allegations against him are ruled upon by the courts Valtteri Filppula Jersey ,” Dorion said.

Lee is responsible for prospect development with Ottawa and oversees the Belleville teams. Ottawa has the fourth- and 22nd-overall pick at the upcoming draft.

The Senators missed the playoffs after reaching the Eastern Conference final in 2016-17, and have been even more of a mess recently with a litany of public relations headaches.

Earlier this week, it emerged that the wife of Senators captain Erik Karlsson filed an order of protection in May against the fiancee of one of his teammates, alleging harassment and cyberbullying.

Melinda Karlsson alleged that Monika Caryk, the longtime partner of Senators forward Mike Hoffman Scottie Upshall Jersey , posted hundreds of derogatory online messages aimed at her and her husband, including trolling messages following the death of their infant son. Caryk has denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, former captain and fan favorite Daniel Alfredsson was quoted saying at an event in Ottawa he hopes the Senators are sold to an owner other than Eugene Melnyk to ensure their future in the nation’s capital.

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh has promoted linebackers coach Don Martindale to defensive coordinator Tomas Tatar Jersey , assuring a seamless transition in the wake of Dean Pees’ retirement.

Martindale has been coaching Baltimore linebackers since 2012. The 54-year-old was the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos in 2010.

After Pees ended his six-year run as the Ravens’ defensive coordinator on Jan. 1, Harbaugh said he wanted to maintain continuity with his new hire.

”I’m a believer in this system,” Harbaugh said last week. ”This system has been something that’s been developed for a long period of time, and we have worked really hard every single year to make it better.”

Martindale has been part of that process. He coached the Ravens inside linebackers from 2012-15 and spent the past two seasons as the team’s linebackers coach.

In announcing the move Tuesday, Harbaugh said Martindale’s ”aggressive mentality will serve to take our defense to new levels.”

Harbaugh said Martindale ”knows the ins and outs of what we have been about on defense and has been an important contributor to our success on that side of the ball.”

Also on Tuesday, Harbaugh promoted Mike Macdonald to linebackers coach and Sterling Lucas to quality control defense.

The 30-year-old Macdonald joined the Ravens in 2014 as a coaching intern on defense. He served as a defensive assistant in 2015 and 2016, and this season was the defensive backs coach. Baltimore led the NFL this season with 22 interceptions and forced a league-best 34 turnovers.

GREEN BAY Kelechi Osemele Jersey , Wis. (AP) — It’s quite possible that the extent of Aaron Rodgers‘ playing time in preseason games will be limited to a touchdown drive that went five plays.

At this point in his illustrious career, the two-time NFL MVP doesn’t look as if he needs any more time. No need to expose Rodgers to a possible injury.

The guys competing to be his backup, though, could use all the snaps that they can get. It makes the Packers‘ third preseason game on Friday night against the Oakland Raiders especially important for Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer.

“This is kind of a unique situation when you know you’re not going to be QB1,” Kizer said. “But now it’s about determining what’s the difference between QB2 and QB3, and I think that in this situation it’s what you make it.”

In a best-case scenario for the Packers, whoever gets anointed the backup would not play a meaningful snap in the regular season since that would mean that Rodgers is healthy.

Green Bay went through the worst-case scenario last year.

The Packers stumbled to a 7-9 finish, finishing out of the playoffs for the first time in eight seasons, in part because the passing game struggled while Rodgers was out with a broken collarbone.

Enter Kizer after the Packers acquired the 2017 second-round pick from the Cleveland Browns in the offseason in exchange for cornerback Damarious Randall.

A competition for the second-string quarterback job was born.

“I’ll just say this — They’re both making progress,” coach Mike McCarthy said before practice on Tuesday.

“I’m really pleased with the step that Brett’s made since last year and it’s very apparent in just his whole operation and production of the offense,” McCarthy said.

“DeShone comes from a whole different perspective as far as his starting point and he continues to get better. Very pleased with the progress of both of those quarterbacks.”

Hundley is 15 of 23 for 185 yards with a touchdown and an interception through the first two preseason games. He started the preseason opener against Tennessee , then was the next quarterback in after Rodgers played his one series against the Steelers.

Hundley likes his body of work so far.

“And my goal is just each and every day — practice, game, no matter what — just keep improving. I think I’ve been doing that and leading this offense and doing well. Just staying consistent is my big thing,” Hundley said.

Since he has played earlier in games, Hundley tends to face defenses that may still have more starters or key players on the field. He said he doesn’t keep a tally of snap counts, though McCarthy estimates Hundley might be a little behind Kizer.

It’s just the luck of the draw with the length of drives.

“I could care less. To me, it’s just I take advantage of every rep I get,” Hundley said. “Whenever I’m in LeSean McCoy Jersey , I’m in, and that’s my goal.”

Hundley has the advantage of being in his fourth year with the Packers. While there might be certain tweaks to the scheme with Joe Philbin returning as offensive coordinator, Hundley has a general sense of what’s expected.

Kizer has his own unique experience as the starting quarterback last year for the winless Browns. He must pick up a new system in Green Bay, though his athleticism and arm strength have been evident on the practice field.

In preseason games, Kizer is 16 of 30 for 283 yards and two touchdowns and no interceptions.

“You’ve seen them get a lot more comfortable, especially DeShone being new with the playbook and making a lot of plays,” Rodgers said. “Brett has just picked up where he leaves off every preseason — very efficient, leading the offense the right away and doing really nice things.”

It’s possible that the Packers may decide to keep three quarterbacks, too, on the 53-man roster. Whether that happens may depend in part on health at other positions on the team after the final preseason game on Aug. 30 at Kansas City.

“I think you look at it as more of a team perspective — and you’re trying to do the best thing for the team,” general manager Brian Gutekunst said.

“I come from a school where quarterback is pretty important and if you have guys that can play, you want to try to keep as many as you can and continue to develop them.”

Draymond Green’s remarkable postseason has pushed beyond basketball, featuring Charles Barkley declaring he’d like to punch the emotional Golden State forward, a death threat from a frustrated fan who Green encouraged to get the help he needs, and an attempt by the All-Star to listen in on the Pelicans huddle.

Oh, and it just so happens Green also became the first Warriors player to ever average a triple-double in a postseason series.

”He’s just incredibly engaged and locked in. This is the best I’ve seen him play all year,” coach Steve Kerr said. ”Draymond has to play hard to do what he does. I think the playoffs have energized him.”

Green is at his best on the big stage and playing just on the edge – pushing boundaries by being just physical enough without crossing the line, dishing out just enough trash talk, though others may beg to differ.

Just as Barkley did.

Green flaps his mouth with the best of them in what many might consider over-the-top gamesmanship Craig Robertson Jersey , engaging with Rajon Rondo – Green praised his opponent afterward – in what became a testy matchup during the Warriors’ five-game series win against the Pelicans. He tangled with Anthony Davis, too.

Green’s enormous personality prompted TNT analyst Barkley to go off and declare, ”I want to punch him in the face, I really do.”

No biggie, Green just fired back.

”He’s seen me a million times. If he feels that strongly about it then punch me in my face when you see me,” Green said. ”If you’re not going to punch me in my face when you see me then shut up. It’s no different than somebody sitting behind a computer screen tweeting, `I’ll knock you out,’ and you never see them in life. Well he’s seen me a bunch of times and he’ll see me again this year. Punch me in the face or if not, no one cares what you would have done. You’re old and it is what it is.”

Barkley later apologized and called his comments inappropriate.

Green is in the middle of everything for the defending champion Warriors, and that’s right where they want him as they try for a repeat title.

Next up is a date with James Harden, Chris Paul and the top-seeded Houston Rockets.

”I live for playoff basketball,” Green said. ”It’s the most fun time of the year for me, but just, you know, locking in and focusing.”

Tensions will certainly be high in these long-anticipated Western Conference Finals. Everybody who plays with Green loves him, and those who have to face him rarely enjoy themselves. He’s a menace on both ends, blocking shots, pounding the boards, flying out of bounds to save loose balls Joey Bosa Jersey , celebrating with a roar or flex of his biceps.

”Like I’ve said to you guys time and time again, he can basically play all the positions on the floor,” Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said. ”That’s what makes it really difficult to play against them, just the versatility that those guys have.”

Against New Orleans, Green averaged 14.8 points, 11.8 rebounds and 10.0 assists. The Warriors are 26-0 overall in games where Green has a triple-double, 4-0 in the playoffs.

In the final two games of the first round against San Antonio, he had 18 rebounds then a playoff career-high 19 boards, then another 15 in Game 1 against the Pelicans with a triple-double. He was one rebound shy of another triple-double in Game 2 and short by one assist in the 113-104 Game 5 clincher Tuesday night.

”I guess that’s great to be the first person in the history of a franchise to do something, but nonetheless, you don’t get triple-doubles by yourself,” Green said. ”You don’t get rebounds by yourself. You need everyone else boxing out on the court. I don’t score points by myself. I’ve got great teammates that find me and give me great shots, and I don’t make the baskets on the pass that I deliver to them.

”So I don’t get fooled into thinking, `Oh, I averaged a triple-double in the series because of me.”’

Green hardly could have expected his fiery style to bring on a death threat, and he brushed it off with little concern. The Warriors increased their security, even if comedian Andrew Polk apologized for his social media post saying Green should be shot.

Green has swiftly moved forward.

After being told that Kerr called veteran Andre Iguodala the ”baby sitter” on the floor, Green had fun with it: ”I need a baby sitter.”

And he hardly considered standing next to the Pelicans’ huddle any kind of infraction. Official Josh Tiven told Green to move.

”I said, `Hey that ain’t no huddle Cameron Jordan Jersey , I’m just standing over here like they standing over here,”’ Green said. ”It was fun. They was watching something of us. It was pretty good.”

Green finished the night with 19 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and two blocked shots. About his usual.

The Warriors want him to continue doing his thing, his way.

”Nothing surprises me but always just kind of impressed and you don’t want to take a talent like that for granted, what he brings every single night,” teammate Stephen Curry said. ”It’s fun to watch, the intensity he plays with and timely plays on both ends of the floor, it’s what a gamer does and that’s what he’s been his whole career. Earlier in his career, never, rarely showed up in the stats sheet like his stuff is there right now – right now, it’s the whole package, and it’s amazing.”

TEMPE Kenyan Drake Jersey , Ariz. (AP) — First-year Arizona Cardinals coach Steve Wilks has wanted players to separate themselves in the crowded competition at wide receiver.

Christian Kirk and Chad Williams seem to have done just that.

Both youngsters had impressive nights in the Cardinals’ 20-15 preseason victory at New Orleans on Friday night.

Kirk, a second-round pick from Texas A&M, caught four passes for 49 yards, including a 13-yard dart in traffic from fellow rookie Josh Rosen for a touchdown. Williams, a third-round pick from Grambling State in 2017, caught three for 44 yards.

“Christian Kirk, Chad Williams, the way they performed. Tough catches, yardage after with Chad,” Wilks said after the team returned to practice Sunday. “I thought those guys stepped up. I thought they created a little bit of separation. It’s ongoing in that room so I’m looking for guys to continue to get better.”

Kirk and Williams took advantage of the absence of wide receiver Brice Butler Mark Bavaro Jersey , out with a foot injury. Butler had been listed as the No. 2 receiver opposite Larry Fitzgerald on the depth chart but Wilks had declared the positon “pretty wide open” during training camp.

“With Brice being out, there’s more opportunities to go out and show what we can do,” Kirk said. “I’m really excited with how we played and looking forward to another good week of practice and getting out there in Dallas and do it again.”

Kirk, who grew up in suburban Phoenix as a Cardinals fan, made his presence felt the first time he touched the ball, returning a punt 38 yards in Arizona’s first preseason game, a 24-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He would have had a touchdown, most likely, had he not slipped making a move on the final would-be tackler, the punter.

Now he’s trying to show that he’s not just a specialist but a reliable big-play threat as a receiver.

“You’ve just got to learn week by week Aldrick Rosas Jersey , whether it’s the speed of the game, the playbook, I mean it all just comes more natural the more reps that you get,” Kirk said. “You get used to the looks that you’re seeing. It’s getting a lot easier. I feel like I’ve made bounds and strides from when I first stepped in here.”

Wide receiver is a big question mark for the Cardinals, with no truly proven players — except perhaps Butler — beyond Fitzgerald, who enters his 15th NFL season with career statistics among the greatest in the game’s history.

So the showing of the youngsters was welcome news.

That might be particularly true of Williams, who struggled through a difficult rookie season, appearing in only six games with three catches for 31 yards.

Has the light come on?

“He’s just such a competitor,” Wilks said. “He understands exactly what he needs to do. He wasn’t satisfied with some of the things that happened last year, the inconsistency Paul Krause Jersey , so I think he’s ready to step up.”

Williams said he’s much more at ease.

“I feel like it’s sunk in and I know the way of going about things,” he said, “and it just comes natural now.”

The Cardinals wrapped up their relatively brief training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale on Wednesday. They will work out Monday, have Tuesday off, then practice Wednesday through Friday in preparation for their Sunday game at Dallas.

“This was always in the plans because really I wanted those guys to get acclimated to how we’re going to do it during the year, to get away from the University of Phoenix Stadium and get back here and get down to the routine,” Wilks aid. “Routine is so important to me.”

Notes: Wilks said there will be no rush to get DT Robert Nkemdiche back after the former first-round draft pick left Friday night’s game with a foot injury. “I really don’t have a timetable on it right now,” Wilks said. “Just taking to the trainers, we’re just going to take it day to day and see how it goes.”

A statement from police in Milton, Georgia doesn’t mention Bills running back LeSean McCoy Danielle Hunter Jersey , but it also raises more questions about exactly what happened to trigger allegations of domestic violence.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, the police report described a targeted home invasion.

“On July 10, 2018 at approximately 3:18 A.M., Milton Police responded to a home invasion at a residence on Hickory Pass near the Cherokee County line, the statement read. “The preliminary investigation indicates that this residence was specifically targeted by the suspect or suspects, and not a random incident. When officers arrived they found one victim who had been physically assaulted by a lone intruder.

“During the altercation, the suspect demanded specific items from the victim. An adult female victim was treated and released at North Fulton Regional Hospital. A second adult female victim also sustained a minor injury during the incident.”

McCoy has denied any involvement, and the league and the Bills have issued the usual statements saying they were looking into the matter.

Prosecutors say they have reached plea deals with former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle that allow him to be released on probation as long as he stays out of trouble.

The Sedgwick County district attorney's office said in a news release Friday the agreements cover four cases against Randle Michael Strahan Jersey , including ones involving a jail fight and interfering with a law enforcement officer. He has already been in jail more than two years.

Taken together, the pleas call for a controlling sentence of 80 months that allows him to be free on probation for 60 months. If he violates probation, prosecutors can seek to have him put in prison.

Randle was sentenced Friday for aggravated battery, aggravated burglary Trey Hendrickson Jersey , criminal threat and marijuana possession.

He will be sentenced Aug. 17 on the jail fight and interference cases as well as ones related to his breaking a jail TV and threatening a guard.

The Cleveland Browns traded tight end Randall Telfer to the Kansas City Chiefs for defensive end Dadi Nicolas.

A sixth-round pick in 2015, Telfer is the sixth veteran dealt by new Browns general manager John Dorsey, who continues to remold a team that has just one victory over the past two seasons.

Telfer started 19 games for Cleveland and was used primarily as a blocker. He caught five passes for 40 yards. After he was selected in 2015, Telfer sat out his rookie season while recovering from a foot injury.

Nicolas has history with Dorsey Tom Brady Jersey , who was Kansas City’s GM from 2013-16. He selected the 6-foot-3, 235-pound Nicolas in the 2016 sixth round.

The 25-year-old Nicolas appeared in 11 games as a rookie, but injured his knee in the regular-season finale and sat out 2017.

Since joining the Browns in December, Dorsey has traded quarterbacks DeShone Kizer Jonathan Stewart Jersey , Kevin Hogan and Cody Kessler, cornerback Jason McCourty and defensive tackle Danny Shelton.

The Browns also claimed linebacker Jermaine Grace off waivers from Indianapolis on Wednesday. The 6-1, 225-pounder signed with Atlanta last year as an undrafted free agent.

He appeared in five games on special teams with the Falcons and six with the Colts.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings Willie Roaf Jersey , teams that fell one victory shy of the Super Bowl last season, will hold joint practices in August.

The teams announced the venture Thursday. They will practice Aug. 15-16 together at Minnesota's new, sprawling practice facility in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan. They will play a preseason game Aug. 18.

It will be Jacksonville's third set of joint practices since coach Doug Marrone took over in 2017. The Jaguars practiced at New England and hosted Tampa Bay during training camp last year.

The Jaguars and Vikings came up just short of the Super Bowl, which was played in Minneapolis. Jacksonville led the Patriots by 10 points in the fourth quarter before losing 24-20 in the AFC championship game. Minnesota lost 38-7 at eventual champion Philadelphia in the NFC title game, failing to become the first team to play a Super Bowl in its home stadium.

Leading the Bills to their first playoff appearance in 18 years wasn’t enough for Tyrod Taylor to secure his long-term future in Buffalo.

The Bills are starting over at quarterback after agreeing to trade their three-year starter to the Cleveland Browns on Friday, according to two people with direct knowledge of the trade. Cleveland is sending its first pick in the third round to Buffalo.

They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because NFL rules prohibit trades from being announced until next week when free agency opens and the league’s new calendar year begins.

The Browns added a proven starter in Taylor a year after going 0-16 on a day they also traded quarterback DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers.

The Bills Will Hernandez Jersey , by comparison, elected to move on from a quarterback who didn’t fit their long-term plans.

The Bills were preparing to release Taylor a year ago, before he agreed to restructure his contract by reducing it from a five-year to a two-year term.

General manager Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott provided no assurances over the past two months that Taylor would remain the team’s starter entering next season.

The trade was made a week before the Bills were due to pay Taylor a $6 million roster bonus.

Taylor’s departure leaves the Bills with a significant hole at the position with Nathan Peterman – a fifth-round draft pick last year – the only quarterback left on their roster.

One option is adding one of the many experienced quarterbacks expected to be available once the free agency period opens.

And then there’s the growing possibility of the Bills selecting one in the draft in April. With the addition of Cleveland’s third-round selection, Buffalo now has two picks in each of the first three rounds, including the 21st and 22nd overall.

The large haul of draft picks provides Beane plenty of assets to use in trades in the event he elects to move up higher in the draft order.

Beane said at the NFL’s rookie combine in Indianapolis 10 days ago that he planned to meet with every quarterback prospect available to be drafted.

The Browns were expected to target a quarterback in free agency, but instead have landed the dynamic Taylor. Cleveland is still expected to take a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

Earlier John Brown Jersey , the Browns worked out a trade with Miami for three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Though noted for his mobility, Taylor was never able to overcome questions about his deficiencies as a passer and performing in the clutch in posting a 23-21 record in Buffalo.

Following two consecutive losses that dropped Buffalo’s record to 5-4 last season, McDermott made what he called a ”calculated risk” to bench Taylor in favor of the raw and untested Peterman. The decision backfired immediately after Peterman threw five interceptions in the first half of a 54-24 loss at the Los Angeles Chargers.

Taylor regained the starting job the following week and finished the season winning three of his final five starts, with both losses coming against New England. He then went 17 of 37 for 134 yards passing and an interception before being sidelined by a concussion in the final minutes of Buffalo’s 10-3 loss to Jacksonville in an AFC wild-card playoff game.

As recently as the rookie combine, McDermott hedged when asked to provide Taylor a vote of confidence.

McDermott said that while cutting Taylor was not part of the team’s current plans, he wouldn’t rule out trading the quarterback.

Taylor’s mobility was his strength. He set Bills records for yards rushing among quarterbacks in each of his first two seasons.

He was Larry Johnson Jersey , however, inconsistent in the passing attack in drawing criticism for being hesitant in the pocket and failing to find open receivers downfield. Including his one playoff start, Taylor was 2-14 when attempting 30 or more passes.

Taylor was at least an efficient quarterback by throwing 51 touchdowns versus just 14 interceptions in 44 games with Buffalo.

The Bills finished last season 29th in total yards and 31st in yards passing.

Not all of Buffalo’s offensive struggles could be blamed entirely on Taylor given the Bills’ patchwork and injury-depleted group of receivers. Jordan Matthews and Kelvin Benjamin, both acquired in trades, missed significant stretches because of injuries.

The quarterback change comes at a time McDermott has shuffled his offensive coaching staff. Rick Dennison was fired after just one season as coordinator and replaced by Brian Daboll, who spent last season overseeing national champion Alabama’s offense. Daboll also has extensive NFL experience Vinny Curry Jersey , including offensive coordinator jobs with the Browns, Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins.

Taylor signed with Buffalo as a free agent in 2015 after spending his first four NFL seasons serving as Joe Flacco’s backup in Baltimore. He then emerged as the Bills season-opening starter after winning a three-way competition between Matt Cassel and returning starter EJ Manuel.

The Chiefs hired Deland McCullough off the staff at Southern California on Friday to coach their running backs Chris Godwin Jersey , taking the place of recently promoted assistant coach Eric Bieniemy.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid moved Bieniemy into the offensive coordinator job shortly after Matt Nagy, who had excelled in the role this past season, took the head job with the Chicago Bears.

McCullough spent six seasons with Indiana before coaching the Trojans’ running backs last season.

He played at Miami of Ohio before stints with the Bengals and Eagles in the NFL, two seasons with Winnipeg in the Canadian Football League and a season in the short-lived XFL.

Jimmy Garoppolo showed what he can do in coach Kyle Shanahan's offense even before he fully understood it in an impressive five-game cameo at the end of last season.

With an entire offseason to learn the foundation of the San Francisco 49ers' scheme and build chemistry with his receivers and offensive line, he should only be better in his first full season as an NFL starter in 2018.

Whether that translates into even more prolific numbers is a different question.

"I don't know how much of a jump you're going to see," Shanahan said Wednesday before the team's final minicamp practice of the offseason. "When you talk about expectations, I don't know how you're going to live up to that. He did very good last year. If we had 400 yards a game Ito Smith Jersey , does that mean we need to have 600 the first five games to improve? I don't know what the numbers will be, but we will be a better offense."

The numbers were quite good after Garoppolo took over as the Niners won their final five games of the season after a 1-10 start under Shanahan. San Francisco scored on an NFL-best 56.6 percent of their drives after Garoppolo took over as starter and ranked in the top five in the league in scoring offense (28.8 points per game), yards per play (6.1) and yards per game (409.6).

That all came with Garoppolo being force fed a game plan each week in an offense he barely knew. This offseason he has been able to start from scratch and learn the whys behind the scheme, which should make him even better once the season starts.

"I think I've come a long way, especially from last season when I was just cramming everything in," Garoppolo said. "But there's still a long way to go developing that chemistry between me and the skill positions and the o-line. It's a work in progress."

That was evident Tuesday when issues with a new cadence led to several false starts or players not getting off on time early in practice. That led Garoppolo to keep a lot of the offense on the field after practice for some extra work to make sure those issues don't come up again.

Shanahan said he was pleased to see his players take the initiative to fix those issues without any prodding from the coaches.

"It wasn't any fun," Garoppolo said. "When that goes wrong Ricardo Allen Jersey , it just screws up the rest of the play. First and foremost, we have to get that corrected."

While the cadence issue was a one-time issue, a major focus this offseason for Garoppolo and the offense has been on becoming more efficient in the red zone.

San Francisco moved the ball with ease the last five weeks of the season but the offense too often had to settle for field goals. The Niners converted less than half of their chances inside the opponent's 20-yard line into touchdowns.

The team has excelled in that area in practice this offseason and Garoppolo hopes that carries over to the games.

"Those are point plays," Garoppolo said. "Those are the ones that really matter. When you get those opportunities, it's hard to complete a touchdown, especially in the red zone like that. The windows are tighter, there's not as much room."

While Garoppolo is the headliner Denzel Perryman Jersey , there has been significant change in the one-plus year since Shanahan and general manager John Lynch took over a struggling franchise.

Shanahan took over a two-win team that had gone through three coaches in the previous three years and now has it in position to be a legitimate contender in the power-packed NFC.

"We've put a lot of work in a year, we've gone through a lot of things, we've changed the roster over a ton," Shanahan said. "We've been better as a coaching staff. We go through this every single day. What I'm happy about as I look over our players and our coaches is we're better. We're deeper. We're faster. We move together, our 11 guys, better together. That should happen. We've done it longer. We've had more time to build the personnel."
