But it's difficult to take serious a team that needs a late rally to beat the Jets. What's happened to the Jaguars (4-8) is stunning. Tennessee has been vulnerable to the run."Getting him back is going to be a huge boost, especially for our team," safety Tashaun Gipson says. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the team has Kony Ealy in for a look while his colleague Ian Rapoport adds Anthony Lanier and Xavier Cooper to the list.Ealy had a sack in 15 games for the Jets last season and failed to make the Cowboys out of training camp this year. Cooper was his teammate for eight of those games and also recorded one sack. Lanier had five sacks and a forced fumble in 11 games for Washington.Melvin Ingram and Isaac Rochell have been playing the majority of the snaps at defensive end with Bosa out of the lineup. The latest report about the 2016 first-round pick was that he’ll be out into October due to a foot injury.

After starting off 0-4 Cheap Kyzir White Jersey , Philip Rivers surged back. Rivers, the Chargers’ undisputed starter since 2006, rallied the Chargers back to winning ways. In all, the Chargers won 8 of their last 12 games in 2017, finishing 9-7 to cap off the season. But once again Rivers’ combination of cheerleading on the sidelines and on-field heroics were in vain. The Chargers didn’t make the playoffs. They haven’t since 2013.Nonetheless Rivers played better than you think. The 36 year old quarterback threw for 96 passer rating, 28 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions in 2017. Good enough to rank Rivers 9th, 5th and 9th among NFL QBs in these metrics respectively. But perhaps even more improtantly, Rivers logged 7.9 yards per attempt (Y/PA)and 7.60 Net Adjusted Yards Per Attempt (ANY/A), two of the better metrics that help us isolate QB efficiency. Indeed, 2017 Rivers easily bested quarterbacks like Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning, in spite of the 4 Super Bowls between them. How? Well, in QB efficiency of course: passer rating, yards per attempt and net yards per attempt. In fact, Rivers’ career numbers in these categories match up with some of the best quarterbacks in NFL History. His career passer rating? An absurdly good 94.6, ranked 8th best all-time. Just behind Peyton Manning. His Y/PA? 11th of all time, ahead of Peyton Manning. His ANY/A? 7th, behind only quarterbacks like Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson. All the aforementioned quarterbacks are going to the Hall of Fame—so shouldn’t Rivers go too?Sure, they’ve all won Super Bowls cementing their status as future Hall of Famers http://www.chargerscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-virgil-green-jersey , but Dan Marino never won that prize and still has a golden jacket. The numbers show that Rivers has outperformed expectations in almost every way. The big red dog is the room is Rivers’ lack of playoff success, but that can be attributed as much to lack of franchise support than lack of ability on River’s part. To compare, Matt Ryan routinely goes to the playoffs with his talented stable of weapons (basically Julio Jones). Yet Ryan has a lower career passing rating, YPA and ANY/A than Rivers. This basic analysis shows us how underrated Philip Rivers is.The calculus alsoshows us that Rivers is on another level to Matt Ryan, a good quarterback in his own right.River’s incredible overperformance—without studs like Julio Jones to help—lends credence to River’s efficiency rankings that sit on par with Peyton Manning, and ahead potential Hall of Famers’ like Big Ben and Eli Manning. So say it with me, “Philip Rivers is easily a Hall of Fame quarterback.” LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (3-2) at CLEVELAND (2-2-1)Sunday, 1 p.m., CBSOPENING LINE 鈥?Chargers by 1RECORD VS.  Over the years we have become used to seeing players like Reggie Bush Alex Anzalone Jersey , Pierre Thomas, and more recently Alvin Kamara gain huge chunks of yards on these screens. But sometimes, the best person to catch a screen is the one that is least expected.Josh Hill has caught 3 screens this year for a total of 43 yards. Screens, inherently have a layer of deception to them, but the Saints add wrinkles that add to this level of deception.Hill’s first reception of the year came week 1 against Tampa Bay. The Saints line up in 12 personnel (one running back, two tight ends), with Mike Gillislee in the backfield and Watson and Hill as the tight ends. On his play, the Saints will use play action to freeze the linebackers. Right Guard Larry Warford (#67) will “pull” as if they are running a power run play. To further sell the play action Authentic Josh LeRibeus Jersey , Hill will block the defensive end momentarily before releasing into the flat. Max Unger and Ryan Ramzyck will lead block on the screen and Hill is able to break a tackle and pick up 15 yards.Hill’s second screen came in week 2 against the Cleveland Browns. This time, the Saints will roll out their 11 personnel (one running back, one tight end). Much like the previous play, this one will feature play action as well, but this time Ted Ginn will run a jet sweep motion from right to left behind the line of scrimmage. The purpose of this motion is to make the defense flow to the opposite side of where the play will happen. One defender who is in man coverage will follow GInn, but the linebackers and safety for Cleveland do a good job at staying disciplined. The offensive line is the same as above, with Warford pulling and Unger and Ramzyck lead blocking for Hill, who is only able to gain 5 yards on this play. The third tight end screen for Hill has the most window dressing and is possibly my favorite play design so far of this season. The Saints have their three most dangerous offensive weapons on the field—Mark Ingram in the backfield Youth Austin Carr Jersey , Kamara will lineup as a receiver to the outside of a bunch formation to the right, and Michael Thomas split out to the left. This play is not much different than the one called against Cleveland, but having Kamara run the jet motion rather than Ginn presents an even bigger threat to the defense, so naturally they are more likely to flow in his direction. This flow is only aided by having Ingram in the backfield rather than Gillislee. Another subtle detail is that Thomas is split out wider here than in the previous play. This will stretch the defense further out and take players even further away from the playside. By the time Hill peels off of his block and makes the reception, he has nearly 15 yards of open space and ultimately picks up 23 yards. Another thing to note on this play is the nice block from rookie Tre’Quan Smith on the safety. Smith has been a reliable blocker in the run game so far this year and will only help him to stay on the field.Screens are a good way to make over-aggressive defenses pay for that aggressiveness. They are also a good way at slowing down the pass rush from the opposing defense, and with the Saints facing one of the best defensive line in the NFL this weekend, we may see a few more of these tight end screens dialed up.Expectations are High Amongst the Tampa Bay Fanbase We’ll continue a series of opponent preview posts for the New Orleans Saints opponents in 2018. Give the Manning brothers this: They've always had impeccable comedic timing.Peyton deadpanned that Drew Brees had ended the happiest stint of his life by breaking his career passing yards record Monday night, and Eli had his own crack when asked about Odell Beckham Jr.'s scathing interview in which he criticized his quarterback, his city, his team and his coach, to name a few. When Brees broke his record for most career passing yards Monday night in the Saints' 43-19 rout of Washington, a congratulatory message from Peyton, a New Orleans native whose father, Archie, starred for the Saints, played on the Superdome's video boards.Shown slicing tomatoes, Manning said with a straight face that his time as the career yards passing leader had been "the greatest thousand days of my life.""Thanks to you, that's over now," Manning continued as the laughter erupted in the stands. "You've ruined that for me."Also, let this serve as the congratulations for the touchdown record because as you can see I'm very busy www.neworleanssaintsteamonline.com ," Manning added. "I don't have time to keep doing these videos for you."Brees has 499 TD throws, one fewer than Tom Brady and 40 fewer than Peyton, who wasn't able to make it to New Orleans on Monday, a day after cheering on the Colorado Rockies in the NL Division Series at Coors Field.Earlier Monday, Eli made it clear he hadn't seen the interview ESPN played Sunday morning in which Beckham, sitting next to rapper Lil Wayne in an odd optic, steamrolled the Giants, the city, his coach and his quarterback.Manning was asked for his reaction, Eli said, "I don't watch Lil Wayne much."Like his brother, who turned serious in congratulating Brees, Eli went on to say he thinks his relationship with Beckham is fine and he was glad the star receiver had addressed the team the night before their game against the Panthers.Beckham has taken a lot of heat for his comments but said he doesn't regret anything he said. And he had a breakout game against Carolina, catching eight passes for 138 yards and a touchdown and throwing a 57-yard TD pass to running back Saquon Barkley after receiving a lateral from his quarterback.Eli Manning led the Giants back from an 11-point, fourth-quarter deficit and put them ahead with a last-minute score only to watch Carolina's Graham Gano kick a 63-yard field goal with 1 second remaining to send the Panthers to a 33-31 win that left the Giants at 1-4.Beckham had complained that the Giants don't throw the deep pass, but they had six pass plays longer than 20 yards against the Panthers, including Beckham's long TD throw to Barkley and his 33-yard TD catch from Manning.NBC analyst Rodney Harrison suggested Beckham shouldn't be criticizing his coach and his quarterback after signing a five-year extension in the offseason that could be worth up to $95 million."You pay a guy $65 million guaranteed, you expect him to be a leader New Orleans Saints T-Shirt ," Harrison said, "Or at least a positive influence in that locker room."Other takeaways from Week 5 included T.J. Watt's second three-sack performance of the season, Marshawn Lynch again getting ignored at the 1-yard line and watching his team pay the price and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin lashing out at the league after the roughing-the-passer tally topped 50 for the season.BIG LIL BROTHERT.J. Watt's move to the left side of Pittsburgh's defense has made all the difference for the younger brother of Texans star J.J. Watt.On Sunday, the second-year linebacker sacked Matt Ryan three times, had three tackles for loss among his team-high eight stops and forced a fumble. Then, he went home and tuned in to watch his big brother record a sack and a tackle for loss in the Texans' 19-16 win over the Cowboys.DEJA VUNow both the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders have done it, although on very different stages. With the Raiders at the Chargers' 1-yard line, Derek Carr was intercepted by Melvin Ingram."I done seen it happen to me on the game's biggest stage," Lynch told ESPN. "Now it's happened in a regular season game."In Super Bowl 49, Russell Wilson was picked off by Malcom Butler from the 1 with less than 30 seconds left when the Seahawks decided to throw the ball instead of handing off to Lynch while trailing the Patriots 28-24.FLAG FOOTBALLWith Watt and Jon Bostic getting whistled for roughing the passer in the Falcons-Steelers game, Tomlin has had it with the league's emphasis on protecting the passer this season, an effort that has resulted in inconsistent calls and game-changing flags on seemingly textbook tackles ."We've got to get better as a National Football League," said Tomlin, who serves on the league's competition committee that sought ways to better protect QBs this season. "Man, these penalties are costing people games and their jobs. We've got to get them correct."Tomlin could face a fine over his criticism of those calls.

dominant wide receiver duo http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/wil-lutz-jersey-authentic , with frequent attacks by the Vikings on the third-year nickel cornerback for New Orleans during long touchdown drives each of their first two possessions.Williams and the Saints sure enjoyed their revenge. With assistance on a forced fumble that set up a touchdown late in the second quarter and an interception he returned for a score midway through the third quarter, Williams had quite the eventful night for the Saints in their 30-20 victory over the Vikings on Sunday ."Part of being a cornerback in the NFL is to be able to bounce back," Williams said, adding: "It was a little relief, definitely, after giving up a few plays."The Saints (6-1) were tied for the second-fewest takeaways in the league entering this rematch of the divisional round playoff game last season that Stefon Diggs won for the Vikings with that stunning last-snap 61-yard catch and run for a touchdown . Though the action was packed with plenty of highlight-reel plays, this one lacked the down-the-stretch tension and that where-were-you moment that immediately went viral like the "Minneapolis Miracle.""We felt as if we were in a shootout until the third quarter, and then you felt them break," Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan said. "At some point, they didn't want it anymore."Adam Thielen was putting together yet another stellar performance for the Vikings (4-3-1), who were on the verge of extending a 13-10 lead when Thielen plunged forward for extra yardage after a short first-down catch. Williams and Alex Anzalone converged and pried the ball loose at the 14, and Marshon Lattimore scooped up the fumble to start a 54-yard return . Two plays later, the Saints were in the end zone to complete the sharp momentum shift."You can't make mistakes against a really good football team," said Thielen, who had seven receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown.Diggs, who had his own standout game with 10 catches for 119 yards and a score, was largely responsible for the other crucial gaffe by the Vikings. Though the stat sheet will forever show that Cousins was picked off by Williams, Diggs stopped his drag route too soon while his under-pressure quarterback tried to dump the ball off to where he was counting on Diggs to be. Williams grabbed it instead and raced the other way for a 27-13 lead ."He just did what he was supposed to do, threw it to the spot," Diggs said. "Miscommunication, and I take full responsibility."Here are some other key developments from the game:STAYING STRONGThielen climbed over the neck of Williams for a tricky third-down catch on the first drive for the Vikings. Diggs beat him with a back-shoulder grab at the goal line and again four plays later on a toe-tap touchdown at the edge of the end zone on fourth down. On the next possession Youth Drew Brees Jersey , Williams had a pass interference penalty that set up a short scoring run by Latavius Murray. The Saints, who were outgained 420-273 in total yardage, were able to keep their confidence and energy high despite the unfavorable start and stay undefeated in four road games this year."We knew it was going to be a hard-fought game," said quarterback Drew Brees, who had only 120 passing yards and threw his first interception after 231 attempts without one but went 18 for 23 to maintain his league-leading 77.4 completion percentage. "The difference was getting some of those turnovers."GOING FOR ITDiggs and Thielen each scored their touchdowns on fourth-and-goal plays from the 1, but in between the fumble and the interception was another pivotal negative play for the Vikings. The fourth-and-1, empty-backfield pass by Cousins from their own 45 on the opening possession of the second half was incomplete when Lattimore knocked the ball out of Laquon Treadwell's hands. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer and offensive coordinator John DeFilippo decided earlier in the week they'd take an aggressive approach in those situations, with the indefatigable Brees and bold-and-unpredictable coach Sean Payton on the other side."I love that they stuck to that plan," Cousins said.THIELEN ITThielen tied Calvin Johnson's NFL record of eight straight 100-yard receiving games, set in 2012 with Detroit. He also matched Patrick Jeffers with a fifth consecutive game with 100-plus yards and at least one touchdown, a mark set in 1999 for Carolina."I think I've said this eight weeks in a row: 100 yards doesn't mean anything unless you're winning games," Thielen said.DUAL THREATAlvin Kamara capped the opening touchdown drive by catching a forward flip from Brees on a jet sweep play with both backup quarterbacks, Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill, lined up as wide receivers. Hill had taken a turn at quarterback earlier and threw a 44-yard pass to Michael Thomas.Kamara soared into the end zone for a rushing score after Lattimore's return, aided by a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Treadwell. Kamara, who had 20 touches on the team's 53 offensive plays, has at least one rushing and one receiving touchdown in four different games. That's the second-most in the first two seasons of a career during the Super Bowl era, behind Edgerrin James and his six such games for Indianapolis in 1999-2000. Philip Rivers has many accomplishments, but there is one trait that he has taken pride in over his 15-year career — durability. The Chargers' veteran signal caller will become the fourth quarterback in NFL history to make at least 200 consecutive regular-season starts when Los Angeles travels to Seattle."It's pretty cool. I mean, obviously the two Mannings (Peyton and Eli) and Favre have started over 200 in a row, and I just feel thankful Womens Alex Anzalone Jersey ," Rivers said. "I think there is a small element of toughness involved, but then again, shoot, lots of prayers for me from many people on Sundays and guys' protection that allow me to be out there each and every week, whether dealing with minor things or big things."Rivers' streak is even more impressive considering the physical and mental demands of the position as well as the constant QB turnover throughout the league. Since Rivers' first start on Sept. 11, 2006, at Oakland:— There have been 179 different starting quarterbacks, including San Francisco's Nick Mullens on Thursday night.— Of that group, 78 have started for two or more teams and 12 have been with four or more. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the most traveled with starts for six teams.— While the Chargers have had only one starting QB, 18 teams have had 10 or more start under center and eight have had 13 or more with the Browns (18), Rams (16) and Vikings (16) leading the way.— Rivers, who has a 111-98 record, has started against 91 quarterbacks and defeated 69, including Favre and both Mannings.Longevity, though, is nothing new for Rivers, who started 51 consecutive games at North Carolina State."I think just being out there each and every week has always been important," he said. "Obviously, you want to be able to go out there and help. It's not just be out there. You want to play at a high level, and that's been up and down over 199, but being out there means something."NFL on CBS commentator Boomer Esiason said he thought it wasn't humanly possible to see a quarterback start 200 or more consecutive games Youth Marshon Lattimore Jersey , but that Rivers' leadership is what has stood out throughout his career. He also noted that Rivers' relationship with Drew Brees during his first two years with the Chargers, where both had a friendly rivalry, is something that rarely happens these days due to constant scrutiny and social media. While Brees has had great success with Sean Payton in New Orleans, Rivers has had a tougher time. The Chargers have not been to the playoffs since 2013."With Philip's competitive personality and leadership he is what other quarterbacks should aspire to be," Esiason said. "He's an extension of the coaching staff when he is out on the field."Even at age 36, Rivers is off to one of the best starts of his career as the 5-2 Chargers have won four straight. He is third in the league with a 117.8 passer rating and is tied for third with 17 touchdown passes. He has excelled this season on deep passes along with throwing into tight windows. According to the league's Next Gen stats, Rivers leads the league at 9.2 yards per attempt and has a 124.1 rating when the receiver is separated by less than a yard from the defender.Rivers also has six touchdowns and no interceptions on deep passes (thrown in the air 20 yards or more). Seattle's defense has allowed only five completions on deep passes."Sometimes as an older player, your body won't let you do it. He's gifted. He hasn't faced that problem," Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt said.If Rivers' streak continues, he would tie Peyton Manning (208) at the end of the season and Eli Manning (210) in Week 2 of next season. As for Favre's mark of 297, Rivers said that is too many games for him to have a chance."Favre was always a favorite of mine. Still is. I kind of wanted to have that mark, or at least push for it in college," Rivers said. "I'm not going to get there. So y'all can do the math and figure out your projection of how many years I'm going to play, but I'm not going to get to 300."Rivers might also be the last to get into the 200 straight starts club for a while. Atlanta's Matt Ryan, who is in his 11th season, is second among active straight starts with 138 and Detroit's Matthew Stafford, who is in his 10th, has 119. Seattle's Russell Wilson, who has started every game since entering the league in 2012, is at 103 and wouldn't reach 200 until midway through the 2024 season.

You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been around much over the course of the past week or so. I’ve actually gotten the opportunity to get away for a little bit, which has been pretty awesome, but now hopefully I can get back into the groove. Everyone else has been doing an outstanding job in my absence, which has also been pretty awesome. As we’ve done over the past couple of seasons, we’re going to do a bit of a “roundup” of the Power Rankings across the internet that we get every week. Generally, I’d do this a bit earlier in the week, and hopefully will from here on forward. As you’d imagine, the Minnesota Vikings are pretty highly ranked in these things. . .well Youth Customized Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , for the most part, anyway. We do have a couple of outliers from folks that just don’t quite believe yet, but they’ll be converted soon enough.Once we get deep enough into the season to see a trend start forming. . .next week, hopefully, since we’re including the preseason rankings in this for comparison. . .we’ll have a graph so we can see where the purple are rising and falling. For now, though, let’s move on to what we have for our favorite football team, shall we?Associated Press: #3 (Last week: #3)No Vikings-centric commentary from the AP this week.SB Nation: #1 (Last week: #2)No Vikings-centric commentary from SB Nation this week.MMQB, Sports Illustrated: #4 (Last week: #3)No Vikings-centric commentary from MMQB this week.Elliot Harrison, NFL.com: #3 (Last week: #4)ESPN: #3 (Last week: #4)Bleacher Report: #1 (Last week: #1)Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: #6 (Last week: #5)Frank Schwab, Yahoo! Sports: #1 (Last week: #1)Walter Cherepinsky, Walter Football: #9 (Last week: #12)(You can read it if you want to, I guess.)Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk: #8 (Last week: #9)Vinnie Iyer www.minnesotavikingsteamonline.com , Sporting News: #1 (Last week: #2)Nate Davis, USA Today: #4 (Last week: #7)So, the Minnesota Vikings are, in fact, a top ten team across the NFL landscape. . .albeit just barely in a couple of cases. I’m not exactly sure what would make a few of these sites appear to be so far down on the Vikings or label them as “overrated,” but that’s their opinion, I suppose.I know that Power Rankings aren’t gospel or anything even remotely approaching it. Still, it does give us something to look at and see what people around the internet outside of our slightly biased bubble think of our favorite football team. So, at this point, that’s what we’ve got. We’ll have another Power Rankings Roundup next week, hopefully earlier than this week’s edition came about.

In Saturday afternoon’s 14-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars http://www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com/riley-reiff-jersey-authentic , the Minnesota Vikings suffered no fewer than half a dozen injuries, at least one of which has already been determined to be pretty significant. In a bit of good news, it appears that one of the injuries is not going to be as bad as it potentially could have been.According to Darren Wolfson of KSTP in Minneapolis, cornerback Mackensie Alexander had an MRI does on his ankle and that it didn’t show any sort of serious injury.Alexander was injured on the first series of the game, after he nearly intercepted a pass that Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles placed right between the “2” and the “0” on his jersey. The pass fell incomplete, and when the Vikings’ defense next took the field Womens Eric Kendricks Jersey , Alexander did not join them and did not return for the rest of the afternoon. The Vikings will likely give some sort of an update on Alexander’s condition in the next day or two. We are also waiting for updates on defensive end Ade Aruna, fullback Johnny Stanton, wide receiver Jeff Badet, and offensive lineman Josh Andrews.Even though none of the injuries that the Vikings suffered should be downplayed, Alexander’s injury was the most potentially concerning, simply because he’s much higher on the depth chart than the other players that were injured and there’s no question as to whether or not he’s going to make the 53-man roster. In this instance Youth Linval Joseph Jersey , thankfully, it would appear that the Vikings dodged a bullet. The list of Minnesota Vikings injuries has been lengthy as of late. And while it doesn’t look like it is letting up, a few names stand out as promising. Having Riley Reiff, Linval Joseph, and Dalvin Cook on limited participation is good. Friday’s practice will be the biggest test for them, but even baby steps to having these players back is a good sign. Courtney Cronin of ESPN spoke with Dalvin Cook about his lingering hamstring injury and sitting out the time he has. “Very Youth Everson Griffen Jersey , very important. I think with these things, if you kind of stepping on it and keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep lingering it on. You kind of need to shut the body down...” While he did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, Stefon Diggs did speak to Chris Tomasson from the Pioneer Press early Thursday and said he felt he could be ready to play against division rivals the Detroit Lions. Courtney Cronin did address on her twitter account that movement is good with rib injuries, but how he handles falling to the ground will to be key.

At the conclusion of the Minnesota 2018 Training Camp http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-tom-compton-jersey , I was convinced that this was the season of Laquon Treadwell.I didn’t think the he was poised for 90 catches and 1,300 yards this year. I didn’t think he was going to magically make us stop regretting passing on Michael Thomas. I simply thought that 2018 was going to be the year that Treadwell finally started making some meaningful contributions to the Vikings offense. He had a very promising camp that cemented him firmly in the third wide receiver spot behind incumbent stars Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. He was using his big frame and reliable hands much more efficiently. Kirk Cousins was looking his way a lot more often than Case Keenum did in 2017. Treadwell seemed to be doing the little things right with a much better attitude. I was fully prepared to use “breakout” instead of “bust” as a prefix on his name.Smash cut to Treadwell’s Week 1 stat line against the San Francisco 49ers: four targets, two receptions, and 18 yards on 38 snaps. Same old Laquon. I tried my best to make his performance sound impressive, but I don’t think it worked. So what went wrong? One first quarter play in particular caught my eye on Sunday. It was a pass that Treadwell dropped. The drop turned out to be the least of his worries on this play.A play, a microcosmAt first glance this looked like your run of the mill drive-killing drop on third down. But Cousins throwing short of the sticks on 3rd & 6 with two linebackers right in front of Treadwell struck me as a bit odd when watching it live at the stadium. Even if the pass was completed, there was little chance that Treadwell was going to get the first down. Perhaps K’Waun Williams blitzing off the edge between Mike Remmers and Rashod Hill forced Cousins to throw before he was ready. But then after the play, Treadwell immediately began jawing with teammate Kyle Rudolph about some sort of miscommunication. Something was up.When I finally saw the broadcast replay, it became pretty clear that Cousins’ pass might not have been intended for Treadwell in the first place. While the pass was a bit wobbly due to Williams hitting Cousins’ hand as he releases, the replay angle certainly looks like it was intended to hit Rudolph in stride instead of going slightly behind Treadwell. Either way, this wasn’t how the play was drawn up.The coaches film leaves little doubt that Treadwell wasn’t supposed to be where he was on this play. After the snap, Treadwell just sort of stands there and shuffles a bit before running his route. Rudolph actually gestures at Treadwell during his own route, appearing to implore Treadwell to clear out. Since I am not John DeFilippo and I haven’t personally discussed this play with any of the parties involved, it’s tough to tell exactly what Treadwell was supposed to do here.If I had to venture a guess, I’d say he was supposed to drag underneath Rudolph to make the linebackers hesitate and leave Rudolph with more space to catch the crossing route. Instead, Treadwell was the one who hesitated. The result: a drive halted because he dropped a pass that wasn’t supposed to be his to drop.Of course, picking on one bad play isn’t really fair to Treadwell. Missing an assignment here and there is a problem that is hardly unique to him. It happens to everyone. But this is the kind of mental error that kept Treadwell from seeing a ton of snaps during his first two seasons. You can’t be making “rookie mistakes” in your third season. If it keeps happening in the future Rashod Hill Jersey , it’s tough to envision the Vikings coaching staff tolerating it. Mishaps like this are more meaningful when they involve a player trying to shed their reputation of making mishaps.Barking at teammates on the field isn’t going to do him any favors either. There have been rumblings about Treadwell’s attitude since his arrival in Minnesota. It appeared that things had drastically improved in that area this year, so seeing that kind of body language on Sunday wasn’t a great look. But don’t give up yet.Even after spending all this time dissecting a single mistake, I’m still here to tell you that it isn’t time to abandon all hope on Treadwell just yet. The 49ers weren’t exactly an ideal matchup for Treadwell thanks to their acquisition of Richard Sherman in the offseason. While Sherman might not be the player he was during his Legion of Boom days in Seattle, he’s still a big cornerback that can negate the physicality that Treadwell likes to use to create space. Treadwell had a tough time getting separation whenever he lined up on Sherman’s side of the field.Treadwell’s first down catch during the two-minute drill in the first half was encouraging, especially where he made a couple players miss to get the first down. He definitely ran the right route here to find a hole in the 49ers zone. After going through most of the coaches film paying close attention to what Treadwell did off the ball, it was encouraging to see him so active. He finished blocks on running plays. On plays where Cousins was forced to scramble, Treadwell kept active to try and give his quarterback a target. He used his hands and body well to keep defenders off balance in his routes. He didn’t appear to have any egregious errors outside of the one we already broke down. The effort was certainly there, even if the results didn’t follow Week 1.The 2018 season didn’t get off to a great start for Laquon Treadwell. But it’s much too early to assume that he won’t make a significant impact for the Vikings this year. Hopefully Treadwell can stay positive and start making those meaningful contributions soon.Weekend Open Thread: October 6th and 7th, 2018 Good Morning!I mentioned the other day in the mythical words up top may be truncated at times due to my new schedule, today is one of those days as I’m finishing this after midnight, again. Phillip Dorsett’s first season with the New England Patriots. The wideout http://www.authenticsnewenglandpatriots.com/cheap-kyle-van-noy-jersey , traded from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for quarterback Jacoby Brissett at the 53-man roster deadline, went on to catch 12 passes in 377 offensive snaps. And that wideout went, at one point, a drought of four games without catching one.But efficient is what Dorsett has become this season. Even if the former first-round pick’s role isn’t the same one he assumed prior to the acquisition of Josh Gordon and the activation of Julian Edelman. Even if the $9.387 million fifth-year option in his rookie contract was declined without any objection in May, and a restructure to lower his roster bonus followed shortly thereafter.Dorsett proceeded to match his reception tally from a year ago by Sept. 16 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’d tie his career-high in touchdowns by Sept. 30 against the Miami Dolphins. He’d surpass his receiving mark from 2017 by Oct. 21 against the Chicago Bears. It will soon be the most productive campaign for Dorsett since the Miami Hurricanes product entered the league at No. 29 overall in 2015. Soon could become sooner.Dorsett has at least provided such food for thought entering the New England’s bye week. He’s done more with less thus far.Fellow Patriots wideout Chris Hogan, sitting third on the depth chart, went catchless for the second time in as many weeks in Sunday’s 34-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, Dorsett, sitting fourth, caught passes from both Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer while playing 39 fewer snaps. The latter now stands with 25 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns on the campaign.Though when asked Monday whether Dorsett stands with an opportunity for expanded looks moving forward, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spread the ball around.“We have confidence in all our receivers,” Belichick said on WEEI’s Ordway White Danny Shelton Jersey , Merloni & Fauria. “Really all five guys have played and they’ve all been productive, in maybe different ways with C.P. [Cordarrelle Patterson]. But Dorsett, Hogan, Edelman and Gordon, we’ve gotten production from all those guys. I’m sure they’ll have some games where they get more targets, and then some where they get less. So, we’ll see how it goes week to week.”Dorsett has been seen lining up with an average of 7.4 yards of defensive cushion this season, most among all NFL wide receivers and tight ends with a minimum of 25 targets, according to Next Gen Stats. He has been targeted an average of 12.3 yards down the field, too, which sits behind only Gordon and tight end Rob Gronkowski in New England’s ranks. And he has caught 71.43 percent of the passes sent his direction, which ties with Edelman for the team lead. But Dorsett has gained just 81 yards over the course of the Patriots’ last six games. The 25-year-old with 4.3 speed has gotten just nine throws sent his direction over that span. The thing is White Stephon Gilmore Jersey , he’s caught all nine.Dorsett hasn’t been the intended receiver on an incompletion since Dolphins rookie defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick intercepted Brady deep over the middle some two flips of the calendar ago. He’s hung on for catches of four, five, six, eight, 11, 16 and 17 yards since then, along with a pair of seven-yarders.Perhaps the most critical of those gains came a week ago in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers, on third-and-7 in a 17-all game, when Dorsett took outside leverage on a curl down the right sideline and fielded the ball off his shoetops to move the chains on what’d be the go-ahead scoring drive.Dorsett would come back to the ball on a similar play in the loss to Tennessee, falling to the grass shortly before halftime at Nissan Stadium only to regather himself and collect 11 yards when the Patriots needed 10.He was on the field for 27 snaps combined between those two contests. He was on for just 16 snaps combined during New England’s three contests prior. There is a case to be made there. The Patriots, on recess until a Nov. 25 matchup with the New York Jets, have time to deliberate it. Rod Rust http://www.authenticsnewenglandpatriots.com/cheap-rex-burkhead-jersey , who coached Hall of Fame defensive lineman "Mean" Joe Greene at North Texas and later served as defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots' 1985 Super Bowl team, has died. He was 90.The Patriots announced Rust's death Wednesday. He died Tuesday at his home in Ocean City, New Jersey, according to family friend Bobby April.Rust spent more than four decades as a football coach, mostly as a defensive coordinator in the NFL with Kansas City, New England, Pittsburgh, the New York Giants and Atlanta. He spent one season as an NFL head coach with a Patriots team that went 1-15 in 1990. He also held several coaching jobs in the CFL.He began his coaching career at the college level, serving as an assistant with New Mexico and Stanford in the early 1960s before landing his first head coaching job at North Texas in 1967. Rust moved to the CFL with Montreal in 1973 and took his first NFL job as linebackers coach with Philadelphia in 1976 under then-new head coach Dick Vermeil.Rust left the Eagles to become the Chiefs' defensive coordinator in 1978 and then took over the same post with the Patriots in 1983. Three seasons later, he was part of the first Super Bowl team in Patriots history. That New England team had defeated Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino's Dolphins in the AFC title game in Miami before falling to the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl 20 in New Orleans.

Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning http://www.authenticsnewenglandpatriots.com/cheap-eric-rowe-jersey , Tom Brady vs. Terry Bradshaw, and of course, Tom Brady vs. Joe Montana. Brady has already passed all of them in the majority of individual and team statistics and has therefore all but ended discussions about who is better than TB12: nobody is. One argument fans cannot seem to figure out, however, is Tom Brady vs. Aaron Rodgers. With the hype surrounding this Sunday Night’s showdown and Rodgers’ first career trip to Gillette Stadium, we are constantly seeing the comparisons again as each quarterback is being asked who the greatest really is. It may be because the two have only squared off once as starters which came in 2014 when the Packers beat the Patriots 29-26 at Lambeau Field. Or because people’s identification of what constitutes “GOAT” can be seen in different ways.Tom Brady is arguably the most dominant and winningest quarterback of all time. Aaron Rodgers could very well be the most physically gifted passer this league has ever seen, with the way he can scramble and make incredible throws. As Patriot and Packer fans continue to argue who is better and why, they are ignoring that if the two were to square off on Super Bowl Sunday it would be the most hyped up title game the league has seen in a long, long time — maybe ever.Tom Brady has faced Kurt Warner, Jake Delhomme, Donovan McNabb Youth Dont'a Hightower Jersey , Eli Manning twice, Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan and Nick Foles in Super Bowls. No disrespect to any of them, but can you imagine the hype — and the game — we’d see if Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers were on opposite ends of it? We never got to see a Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning Super Bowl, or Brady against Montana or Bradshaw, or really any legend he has been compared to. Before I finish up, I don’t want you to be confused: Tom Brady is obviously the greatest of all time (totally un-biased opinion). A football fans, however, let us just appreciate the greatness of these two generational like talents at the most important position on the football field no matter personal preference. Wearing a red non-contact jersey on the team's grass practice field, Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy worked on a limited basis Thursday as he makes his way back from a concussion. With or without their top playmaker, the Bills and their sputtering offense will be challenged to keep up with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Monday night. The primetime matchup 鈥?Buffalo's first home game on Monday night in a decade features one of the best offenses in the league against one of the worst."I think it's an opportunity to come on a big stage against a great football team to get the ball rolling and do something special Youth Joe Thuney Jersey ," Bills receiver Zay Jones said. "Especially at home."Scoring and producing on offense has been difficult for the Bills this year.Buffalo's 81 points through seven games is the third-lowest total over that span in franchise history and the lowest since 1977, when the Bills had 75 points and started 1-7.In comparison, the Patriots have scored 86 points in the second quarter this season. The Bills are 31st in total offense, 32nd in points per game and 32nd in passing. Buffalo's average of 129.4 yards passing per game is 47.2 yards behind last year's Bills team, which ended the year 31st in passing.Buffalo averages 11.6 points per game, while the Patriots average 30.6 points per game. The biggest issue for Buffalo has been at quarterback, where veteran Derek Anderson is set to make his second straight start after signing with the team to provide a leadership role earlier this month. That came after a disastrous start to the season by opening day starter Nathan Peterman and disappointing play from rookie Josh Allen, the seventh overall pick in the draft.Allen is out with an elbow injury.Buffalo's passing game showed some signs of life in the first half of Sunday's 37-5 loss to Indianapolis with Anderson before struggling. Anderson had three interceptions and lost one fumble while throwing for 175 yards. It's a tough spot for Anderson, who signed with Buffalo on Oct. 9."I'm just continuing to grab information as we go," Anderson said. "(Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll) keeps asking me every day, 'You good?' Yup White Jonathan Jones Jersey , I'm good. Everything we're doing, I'm staying up to speed with and trying to grab anything extra that I can as we go and kind of get it on the fly."Anderson, 35, recognizes the difficulty in trying to keep up with the high-powered Patriots."They're a good football team, there's no question about that," Anderson said. "Unfortunately I have to just play their defense. That's my focus this week."There were some small positives for the Bills in their loss to the Colts. The offense topped 300 yards for the first time this season with 303 yards.Anderson's 175 yards passing against Indianapolis were the team's most since Josh Allen's 196 yards against Minnesota. The Bills also received a spark from backup running backs Chris Ivory and Marcus Murphy. Ivory had 81 yards on 16 attempts (5.1 average) against Indianapolis while Murphy had 53 yards on four attempts, including a 30-yard gain."Obviously we know who we're playing," Jones said. "The Patriots have a good defense so we can't overlook them either. So just stay on track with things that we have planned."
