That alone is why middle linebacker NaVorro Bowman believes it would be a major mistake for the players to simply go through the motions this week.

”I don’t think guys can afford to do that, being on a team like this where we haven’t played well and changes can be made after this year,” Bowman said. ”Anybody Authentic Tony Watson Jersey , including me and the quarterback, including the coaches, you have to be preparing the way that you would prepare if you were 8-0. In the position that we’re in, you don’t want to put any bad film out there.”

Bowman’s status is one of the issues the Raiders front office and coach Jack Del Rio will have to confront in the offseason. Oakland also spent millions in extensions for quarterback Derek Carr, left tackle Donald Penn and right guard Gabe Jackson but have just six wins to show for it.

The only tangible goal left for Oakland now is to avoid having double-digit losses, something that hasn’t happened since Del Rio was hired in 2015.

Like Bowman, Del Rio said he will be watching to see which players finish out the season strong and which ones pack it in early.

”You’re looking for guys who love ball,” Del Rio said. ”We feel like we have that.”

But he has seven goals and seven assists in 14 games with the Blue Jacketa.

Meanwhile, Columbus has won 12 of its past 13 games overall and six straight on the road.

“I’m making my own judgment,” Tortorella told reporters recently. “I don’t see some of the things that people are afraid of with this guy (Vanek), as far as attitude. “It does a lot for my confidence,” Gagner told reporters of the increased output. “When you go through struggles, you have to try to keep an even keel, just like when you have success.”

Gagner has helped the team succeed too. The Canucks have won three straight games for the first time since late November and early December, and four of their past five.

“As an offensive player it’s nice to get results,” Gagner said. “It allows you to kind of feel better with the puck and feel good offensively.”

Amerson, who has missed the past two games with a foot injury, sat out practice again Friday and worked with a trainer on the sidelines. The fifth-year veteran will travel to Mexico but is listed as doubtful on the team’s injury report.

”He ran well enough on the side for it to be a consideration,” Raiders coach Jack Del Rio said. ”Still doubtful Authentic Mike Gesicki Jersey , which means what it is. The percentages are not great that he’s going to play but there’s that possibility that remains.”

Del Rio had been hopeful that Amerson would recover enough during the bye week to play against the Patriots. Instead, the Raiders’ best cornerback is almost certain to be inactive for a third consecutive game while Dexter McDonald will likely start in Amerson’s absence.

”You just have to plug in, coach up and move on. Nobody really cares,” Del Rio said.

The Raiders have had to shuffle their secondary most of the season due to injuries and poor play.

The Raiders also lost backup cornerback Antonio Hamilton to a season-ending knee injury in October.

After a drama-filled week , the quarterback says his focus remains solely on football as his team prepares to host the Titans in Saturday’s divisional round.

During Brady’s tenure the Patriots are 6-1 against the Titans. He has 13 passing touchdowns and one interception in those games – his best touchdown to interception ratio against any opponent in his career.

He also is 6-0 against Mike Mularkey-coached teams.

But that hasn’t changed the approach for Brady, who is preparing for his 35th playoff start in the aftermath of recent reports suggesting discord between himself, coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft.

In a joint statement last week, all three men brushed aside any insinuation of strife at the top of one of the NFL’s jewel franchises. Brady reiterated on Thursday that his mind remains on the field.

”We do what we always do. We show up to work and try to do the best we can do,” he said. ”We know there’s a lot at stake and I think everyone’s put a lot into it. It doesn’t really matter what happened outside of this facility.”

Patriots receiver Danny Amendola hasn’t noticed any change in Brady.

”He’s the ultimate professional and he (makes) his teammates better and he demands a lot,” Amendola said. ”We all want to win for him Jaguars Logan Cooke Jersey , and we all want to play hard for him.”

Tennessee recognizes the challenge it faces against Brady. It opened the week as a 13-point underdog, and prior to last week hadn’t won a playoff game since the 2003 season.

That doesn’t mean the Titans fear the Patriots.

The contrast in quarterbacks will be stark.

At age 40, Brady is the oldest remaining quarterback in the playoffs. The Titans have the youngest in 24-year-old Marcus Mariota. The 16-year age gap between them is the largest between starting quarterbacks in a playoff game in NFL history.

Since 2001, quarterbacks making their first or second career playoff start are 0-7 against New England.

”I think it just comes down to how well you play,” Brady said. ”At the end of the day, it’s not about old guys are going to win or young guys are going to win, the home team, the road team. It’s really going to come down to execution. No one’s going to be able to do it for you.”

The Dallas Cowboys placed the franchise tag on DeMarcus Lawrence on Monday http://www.philadelphiaeaglesteamonlines.com/richard-rodgers-jersey , and the Pro Bowl defensive end quickly signed the one-year contract that guarantees him $17.1 million in 2018.

The Cowboys had until Tuesday to put the tag on Lawrence, who can still sign a long-term deal with the club that traded up him to get him early in the second round in 2014. Lawrence’s agent, David Canter Cheap Anthony Averett Jersey , wrote on Twitter that his client signed the deal.

Lawrence tied All-Pro Calais Campbell of Jacksonville for second in the NFL with 14 sacks last season. The 25-year-old’s breakout year came after he struggled with injuries most of his first three seasons. He had back surgery each of the previous two offseasons.

On the one-year contract, Lawrence’s salary would be the average of the NFL’s five highest-paid defensive ends.

Lawrence is an important piece with the Cowboys trying to get back to the playoffs after missing at 9-7 a year after they had an NFC-best 13 wins before losing a divisional playoff to Green Bay.

The former Boise State player emerged for a Dallas defense that has lacked star power beyond 2016 All-Pro linebacker Sean Lee. Lawrence surpassed his previous career high of eight sacks in the fifth game.

Pass rushing was a problem for the Cowboys in each of their past two trips to the playoffs. In 2014, they finished 28th in sacks and couldn’t get to a hobbled Aaron Rodgers in a divisional loss to the Packers after Lawrence clinched a wild-card win over Detroit with a sack of Matthew Stafford.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) – A day after Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins referred to him as a cancer, cornerback Eli Apple was suspended Wednesday by the New York Giants for the season finale against the Washington Redskins.

The Giants announced the suspension hours after Apple had participated in the practice. Interim general manager Kevin Abrams and interim coach Steve Spagnuolo informed him of the suspension.

”We have suspended Eli for a pattern of behavior that is conduct detrimental to the team,” Abrams said.

Collins never referred to Apple, the Giants’ first-round draft pick in 2016, by name in a radio interview on Tuesday. However, he said only one cornerback on the team needed to grow up and later added, ”But that first pick … he’s a cancer.”

Collins apologized for the comments on Wednesday. He and Apple met separately with Spagnuolo and then all three talked.

Collins was not in the locker room after practice. Apple declined to speak with the media.

The suspension was announced several hours later.

AUBURN HILLS Falcons Logan Paulsen Jersey , Mich. (AP) – Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson is out for at least six to eight weeks with a sprained right ankle.

Jackson was injured after making a jump pass and landing awkwardly Tuesday night in a win over the Indiana Packers.

He is averaging 14.6 points, ranking third on the team, and leads the Pistons with 5.5 assists per game. Jackson was limited to 52 games last season, largely due to a knee injury.

Jack Van Berg, a Hall of Fame trainer who oversaw Alysheba to victories in the 1987 Kentucky Derby and Preakness, died Wednesday. He was 81.

With Charlie McAvoy serving a tripping minor, Kadri one-timed Marner’s pass over Rask’s glove for his 23rd of the season with 55.9 seconds remaining in the second to tie it at 3.

Not in college. Not in high school. Not in peewee football. Not even in the backyard against family and friends.

Bortles put together one decent drive all day, doing as much with his legs as his arm, and the defensive-minded Jacksonville Jaguars eked out an ugly and sometimes unwatchable 10-3 victory against the Buffalo Bills in an AFC wild-card game Sunday.

Bortles became the second starting quarterback in the past 25 years to win a playoff game with more rushing yards (88) than passing (87). Atlanta’s Michael Vick also did it against the St. Louis Rams in the 2004 playoffs.

”That’s usually not ideal for a quarterback,” Bortles said.

It was enough to help the third-seeded Jaguars (11-6) get to the next round against No. 2 seed Pittsburgh.

The sixth-seeded Bills (9-8) will head home after ending the longest, current playoff drought in North American professional sports.

”We had bigger goals,” Buffalo linebacker Preston Brown said. ”Once we got in the dance, we didn’t want to be one and done. We didn’t want to treat this like a bowl game, go down to Florida and everybody relaxes. We wanted to move on.

”This really stings to lose in this way when you hold them to 10 points. We just didn’t find a way to hold them to zero points to win the game.”

Bortles was a big reason Jacksonville won its first playoff game since January 2008. He was big reason it was so close Eagles Paul Worrilow Jersey , too.

This was far from a passing clinic. It was more like a painful exercise in overcoming poor passing.

Bortles made up for it with his scrambling ability. He had several long runs, with the highlight coming in the fourth quarter when he fumbled a shotgun snap, picked it up and outran two defenders for an 18-yard gain.

The play prompted a Bills assistant to slam his clipboard to the ground, which left Bortles smiling as he flipped the ball to an official.

”We weren’t sharp. We made some bad plays and did some stupid stuff,” Bortles said. ”But we found a way to win, and that’s all that matters.”

He completed 12 of 23 passes for 87 yards, with a touchdown. His TD pass to backup tight end Ben Koyack late in the third quarter was his best throw of the game. It also was a gutsy call on fourth-and-goal from the 1.

Bortles did the rest on the ground, picking up first downs and helping Jacksonville win its first playoff game at home since the 1999 season.

The Bills had plenty of chances down the stretch, but a huge penalty against tight end Charles Clay, a dropped pass by Zay Jones and then a tackle that knocked quarterback Tyrod Taylor out of the game ended any threat of a comeback.

Taylor’s helmet slammed hard against the ground after getting thrown down by Dante Fowler Jr. He had to be helped off the field, forcing backup Nathan Peterman into the game with 1:27 remaining.

All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey tipped and then intercepted Peterman’s third pass, and the Jaguars ran out the clock.

”I don’t care what people call it, we got a playoff win Cheap Michael Gallup Jersey ,” Ramsey said. ”We’re going to come to work for another week while other teams are sitting home.”

YARDAGE NUMBERS

The Bills finished with 263 yards, 119 of those coming from hobbled running back LeSean McCoy (ankle). The Jags had a measly 230 yards, the team’s third-fewest total of the season. Leonard Fournette ran 21 times for 57 yards.

HUGE SWING

Trailing 10-3 with about six minutes to play, the Bills looked as if they picked up a first down on an 11-yard pass from Tyrod Taylor to Clay. Jacksonville players standing on the sideline pointed to Clay’s feet, and coach Doug Marrone threw the challenge flag. Officials overturned the completion, saying Clay was out of bounds and setting up a third-and-10 play from the Jacksonville 48-yard line. Linebacker Myles Jack sacked Taylor on the next play, forcing a punt.

INJURIES

Bills: Safety Micah Hyde left the game in the third quarter and was being evaluated for a concussion. Cornerback Tre’Davious White went to the locker room in the fourth to be treated for cramps. Safety Colt Anderson injured his right shoulder in the fourth trying to make a diving interception.

Jaguars: Linebacker Paul Posluszny (hip) left, tried to return and then headed to the locker room. He did not return. Receiver/punt returner Jaydon Mickens (hamstring) also left the game.

UP NEXT

The Jaguars will play at second-seeded Pittsburgh next Sunday Authentic Taven Bryan Jersey , a rematch from Week 5. Ben Roethlisberger threw five interceptions, and Jacksonville won 30-9. The Steelers have won 10 of 11 since, the lone loss coming against New England.
