Raiders preseason week four snap counts vs Seahawks: Mario Edwards Jr plays deep into 4th quarter Cheap Johnny Townsend Jersey , looking at possible trade or cut If you sat through the Raiders entire final preseason game, you may have noticed something. Mario Edwards Jr was still on the field. The fourth year defensive lineman started 14 games last season and had run with the first team all through the offseason and training camp. But while most other starters on the team were not even dressed for, there he was, still in the game in its waning minutes.Typically the players on the field at the end of the final preseason game are those who will not be on the roster the following day. Leading to the inevitable question of whether that could very well be Edwards’s fate as well. Gruden didn’t exactly offer a ringing endorsement of Edwards after the game.“He had a number of great looks tonight. They were throwing the ball in obvious passing situations with a backup offensive line, we’ll take a look at what he got done in the 1-on-1 situations. I can’t really comment any further than that.”Despite the good looks Gruden said Edwards got versus backups throughout the game www.oaklandraidersteamonline.com , he had just 2 assists with no QB hits. There’s a lot of competitors for along the Raiders defensive line this year, making for some tough calls for Gruden today and tomorrow as the cut down deadline is Saturday.“He’s in a competitive situation and we’ll have to let you know in the next day or so what we’re gonna do,” Gruden said of Edwards. We should soon know whether Edwards’s time in Oakland is up or not.Update: As expected, the Raiders are shopping Mario Edwards Jr in the hopes they can get something back instead of just cutting him.Snap counts vs SeahawksOffenseDefenseSpecial tms (select)OffenseDefenseSpecial tms (select)Notes:Rookie third round pick Brandon Parker started and played every snap at left tackle with top pick Kolton Miller not dressing for the game.Ian Silberman started at right tackle with Donald Penn not playing. He was later replaced by David Sharpe as they continue to battle for the primary backup spot behind Penn.Keon Hatcher started at wide receiver across from rookie Marcell Atemen. Hatcher played 48 snaps (81%), catching 8 passes for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also played 14 special teams snaps (45%).Jason Cabinda led the entire team in total snaps. He played every snap on defense and 23 snaps on special teams (74%). He’s still behind Derrick Johnson and Marquel Lee at the middle linebacker spot so it’s hard to see how he fits on the team. He’s a strong candidate for the practice squad at very least.Rashaan Melvin started the game as the only player fully expected to start come the regular season. He played just 14 snaps before exiting.Follow @LeviDamienRaiders rookie report: Down week for rookie crop From the highly talented LA Rams in the opener to the elevation in Denver to the high humidity in Miami. The rookies are getting tested in many ways early in the season. Here’s what they did in week three against the DolphinsActiveKolton MillerArden KeyMaurice HurstJohnny TownsendTrent SiegInactiveNick NelsonPJ Hall (ankle injury)Brandon ParkerKolton MillerThe top pick had two admirable outings in the first two weeks. He showed some issues in the run game Oakland Raiders T-Shirt , but held up well in pass rush. He didn’t have to face former Rams pass rusher Robert Quinn in the opener. He was traded to Miami, so their meeting would wait until week three. Quinn bested Miller on several occasions in this one.On the very first play, Quinn set the tone by getting by Miller to put a hit on Derek Carr for an incompletion. Quinn got around Miller again early in the fourth quarter, and Carr managed to slip the sack just enough to get the ball away and it was nearly intercepted.Miller also gave up a few run stuffs and had a couple penalties, including a false start on third and goal at the 2-yard-line. The first overall poor outing for him.Arden Key Each game Key looks like he’s so close to getting home for his first sack. He gets pressure and has made a few hits on the quarterback Oakland Raiders Hats , but has yet to make a significant impact. He had two QB hits in Miami, bringing his season total to four. He also had a couple run stops, which is another area we have been looking to see him improve.Maurice HurstHe got his first sack in week two in Denver. He got at least one good pressure in Miami, and hit Tannehill as he threw, but was flagged for a complete bullshit roughing the passer penalty. There have been a lot of those bullshit roughing the passer penalties this season. Hurst is the latest to fall victim to the new QB two-hand touch football rules.Johnny TownsendI’ll just quote myself from this week’s Ballers & Busters for him (he was a Buster by the way):Trent SiegAll conditions normal for Sieg. Ready or not Raiders to start Rookies at both tackle spots versus Chargers Last April the Raiders went tackle with two of their top three picks — Kolton Miler at 14 overall and Brandon Parker in the third round. Now in just the fifth game of the season those two rookies will be starting across from each other.Top pick Kolton Miller stepped in at tackle in the offseason while Donald Penn recovered from foot surgery. Once Penn returned Rodney Hudson Jersey , right tackle Breno Giacomini had been lost to injury, so the team opted to move Penn to right tackle — a position he had never started a game in his long career — and keep Miller at left tackle. That was the arrangement for the first four games. Then in the third quarter of Sunday’s against the Browns, Penn was lost to a leg injury and Parker made his debut at right tackle. It was a sketchy start for Parker who played 57 snaps and gave up two sacks and four pressures. Though, to be fair, one of those sacks Derek Carr held onto the ball too long.“He did well. He did some good things. He had a couple of plays that he needs to clean up,” Jon Gruden said of Parker’s performance in the game. “When you go in that game, it’s an obvious passing situation, obviously. Up-tempo and all the chips are on the table to go in there and play against a team like Cleveland who’s blitzing repeatedly. I thought he did some good things. We’re pleased with both of our rookie tackles. I know it was a sore topic when we drafted both of them a few months ago with some people, but we need those two guys.”They certainly needed Kolton Miller over the first four games, and now they will rely on both to protect their franchise quarterback. Today it was announced that Penn would be headed to injured reserve and Parker would be getting his first start Sunday when the Raiders head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers.“I love Donald, so I’ll miss him for however long that is,” said Derek Carr. “With Brandon I think everyone knows about how we feel about him around here; he’s really good. I’m sure he had a couple plays as a rookie that he’d want back, but you live with that. He’s tough, he’s very intelligent, so crazy looks and things like that aren’t going to mess with him. Which is good. He’s one of the smartest rookies I’ve ever been around. Miller had his trial by fire, facing the likes of rookie fifth overall pick Bradley Chubb in Denver, Robert Quinn in Miami, and Myles Garrett against the Browns. The past two weeks in particular, Miller has not fared well, allowing a lot of pressures as well as run stops. He and Parker will now see the likes of dynamic pass rusher Melvin Ingram in LA. Last season Ingram and Joey Bosa were in a race to get to the quarterback every game and both had double digit sacks. Lucky for the Raiders, Joey Bosa is not expected to play. The elite pass rusher has been out all season with a bone bruise. Though the Chargers will get defensive tackle Corey Liuget back, so that will help their pass rush. Regardless, it’s two rookies starting at the tackle spots which can be a bit scary.“You don’t feel like you have two rookies because they’re so talented http://www.raiderscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-tahir-whitehead-jersey , but at the end of the day they are and its something that we’ve got to do a good job of helping those guys out,” Carr added. Here is the updated look at the rest of the Raiders rookies starting with who saw the field Sunday against the Browns.ActiveKolton MillerPJ HallBrandon ParkerArden KeyNick NelsonMaurice HurstJohnny TownsendTrent SiegMatt McCraneInactiveNonePJ HallReturning from the ankle injury he suffered in the season opener, Hall was eased back in, seeing just 19 snaps. He didn’t record a stat, but he held his gap on a goal line play that stopped a run for no gain.Arden Key He still hasn’t gotten his first sack of the season, though he has been so close so many times. Even without the elusive sack to his credit, he had an outstanding game, including two clutch run stops — one for a loss at the goal line and one short of the sticks that would have won the game for the Browns. He still leads the team with 5 QB hits.Nick NelsonHe was active for the first time this season, but didn’t see the field on either defense or special teams.Maurice HurstSpeaking of players having their best game, Maurice Hurst. He was a beast against the Browns, with several key plays including a strip sack, a ball batted at the line, and a tackle in which he chased the runner all the way out left to stop him short of the first down. He now has 2.0 of the Raiders’ five sacks on the season.Johnny TownsendHe continues to be among the worst punters in the NFL this season. He’s still 24th in punt average (43.9), and his net averaged actually dropped a tenth of a yard to 40.2 which is 15th in the league. His 4 punts inside the 20 is 25th in the league. The lack of great field positions has been noticeable for the Raiders.Trent SiegAll conditions normal for Sieg. No news is good news for the long snapper.Matt McCraneThe undrafted rookie kicker was added last week. He was 3 of 5 in the game, missing a 47-yard field goal and a 50-yard field goal in overtime that would have won the game. Luckily he was given another chance and converted the short 29-yarder to win it. He also made one from 44 and 29.Relying on rookies at both tackle spots is not ideal, but here we are. Getting Hall back will help with the depth on the defensive line as he figures to continue to see more snaps. Arden Key and Maurice Hurst have both looked better each passing game and Key is so close to joining Hurst by getting a sack under his belt. The depth at cornerback is what’s keeping Nelson off the field. Townsend better step it up or he won’t be the Raiders’ punter very long.Follow @LeviDamien The Denver Broncos have spent years trying to solve their tight end troubles.Their inadequate coverage of tight ends and inability to get much production from their own are two of the biggest reasons they've fallen so far from their Super Bowl perch and have been looking up at the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West since 2016.Both problems appeared to be fixed this season thanks to an influx of talent on defense and a return to health of Jake Butt, who missed his rookie season last year after tearing up his right knee in his final game at Michigan.Yet, Butt's season is over after he tore his left ACL at a walkthrough practice Thursday and the Broncos haven't shown much progress in throttling opposing tight ends, either. In their opener, the Broncos allowed Seattle's Will Dissly to become the first tight end in league history to top 100 yards receiving and score a touchdown in his NFL debut, one that included a 66-yard rumble featuring four missed tackles.Butt's third ACL tear was the crushing blow, coming four days before the Broncos (2-1) host the Chiefs (3-0) on Monday night ."I felt for Jake right away," Broncos coach Vance Joseph said. "He's worked so hard for the last two years to get himself back to this point. He was improving every day. He was making plays for us on Sundays. You can see the special ability this player had and the passion."This guy was the same guy every day: happy Cheap Frostee Rucker Jersey , fully engaged every day, a very smart football player. It's a shame that it ended that way on that kind of play."The Broncos promoted third-year tight end Brian Parker from their practice squad Saturday when Butt joined rookie Troy Fumagalli on IR.That means the Broncos' tight end group now consists of two undrafted players in Parker and Matt LaCosse and 2015 third-round draft pick Jeff Heuerman, who has just 23 career catches and two touchdowns."He's been a good pass-catcher for us," Joseph said. "He's always been a pretty good pass-catcher. Now, without Jake, obviously his targets should go up a little bit. But he's done a great job in the past, especially in the red zone."Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said, "We're all just broken up about it."His loss is a big blow to the Broncos' special teams, too."It's a huge loss," special teams coordinator Tom McMahon said. "He's a great pro, he loves football. I love Jake. This football team loves Jake. How he acts as a man, if my boys can be that guy 10 years from now, I'll be a very proud dad."Covering tight ends has been Denver's Achilles heel for two years. It was a big reason they didn't make the playoffs in 2016 and last year they allowed the third-fewest yards (3,395) in the NFL, but tight ends accounted for 1,023 of those yards — third-most in the league. After focusing on fixing that all offseason, Dissly's debut was a downer for the Broncos, who also allowed four catches for 49 yards to Oakland tight end Jared Cook the following week and Ravens rookie tight end Mark Andrews' 12-yard TD catch last week.Up next is Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, who had a 133-yard game against the Broncos last year."He's just a guy that is hard to put a linebacker on because of his ability," defensive coordinator Joe Woods said. "He has the size to match up with safeties. He's really like a wide receiver and tight end. He's definitely a difficult matchup, but I have a lot of confidence in the guys we have — Justin Simmons and our whole safety crew."I think we have a chance to go matchup at times against him and win our fair share."

Vegas oddsmakers clearly haven’t been watching the Raiders enough this season. Or they need to listen to Paul Guenther. The odds were favoring the 49ers by three points coming in. Then Nick Mullens was named the starter and the line changed to the Raiders being favored by one point. Then the game started. With six minutes left in the second quarter Youth Seth Roberts Jersey , the 49ers punted for the first time. Nick Mullens had led the 49ers to touchdowns on his first two drives. Not his first two drives of the game. His first two drives of his NFL CAREER. He has never played a snap in the NFL. Then he lined up across from the Raiders porous, toothless defense and looked downright elite.Mullens went 12 for 17 for 167 yards and 2 TD’s and the 49ers carried a 17-3 lead into the half. Derek Carr? Sacked four times. This is at the half, mind you.Come the second half, it was more of the same. The 49ers got the ball first and drove right down the field for the touchdown. It was highlighted by an insande one-handed grab by tight end George Kittle on a crossing route that went for 71 yards. Then Mullens rolled out left and found Kittle again for the score to take a 24-3 lead. When the Raiders got the ball back, Kolton Miller was out for the rest of the game and replaced by Kelechi Osemele who moved over from left guard. And he promptly gave up the fifth sack on Carr in the game.Midway through the third quarter, Mullens was 15 of 20 for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns with a 156.2 passer rating, tight end George Kittle was already over 100 yards (108), and the 49ers were up 31-3.The game was over. There was just some time still left. From here it was just about playing out the clock. Even though the defense was playing out the clock since the first snap of the game. Whatever efforts they had early on were long since gone as their spirits were broken.Even the Raiders’ field goal attempt to begin the fourth quarter bounced off the right upright. And after the sixth sack on Carr and with 11:45 left in the game Womens Gareon Conley Jersey , AJ McCarron came in the game at quarterback. Like a preseason game.It was reminiscent of 2013 when Nick Foles came into Oakland and got his third career win throwing 7 touchdowns. The Battle of the Bay is no more. The Raiders lose the final game in the series in embarrassing fashion as the team that will remain in the Bay Area claimed their territorial rights. The Raiders lost the battle, but may have won the war. The war has been looking ahead to next year’s draft for a while now. Where pass rusher Nick Bosa awaits. This effort helps them in that endeavor.Follow @LeviDamienSilver Mining 10/5: Raiders Brandon Parker about to get a trial by fire replacing Donald Penn Raiders NewsTrial by fire: Brandon Parker replaces injured Donald Penn on Raiders' O-line | NBCS Bay AreaRaiders third-round pick Brandon Parker was a long-term project, but now it's up to him to help protect Derek Carr.Ready or not Raiders to start Rookies at both tackle spots versus Chargers - Silver And Black PrideLast April the Raiders went tackle with two of their top three picks — Kolton Miler at 14 overall and Brandon Parker in the third round. Any time the Detroit Lions lose and Matthew Stafford has a bad game Youth Kerryon Johnson Jersey , it seems like some NFL analyst or former player lines up to trash the guy, for whatever reason. We’ve already heard Boomer Esiason earlier this year, Mike Ditka has complained about the fashion habits of the Lions’ franchise quarterback, and just about every blowhard announcer has thrown their hat into the ring at one point or another. This week’s loudmouth is former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon. On CBS Sports Network’s “NFL Monday QB” show, he went in on Stafford. (Quotes via the Detroit Free Press):Before we get into more of what he said, we’ve already largely debunked the “garbage time” myth with Stafford. As for the tired overpaid narrative, look around the league, Rich. This is the market value for quarterbacks these days. Here’s more from Gannon:Five seconds worth of research would show Gannon that the first quarter and third quarter are actually Stafford’s most efficient quarters. Here are his passer ratings by quarter:1st: 93.72nd: 84.03rd: 94.84th: 84.8And yards per attempt by quarter:1st: 7.12nd: 7.03rd: 7.74th: 6.9He’s only thrown 45 career interceptions in the first and third quarter, while 79 in the second and fourth. Gannon, like many people who decide to speak out against Stafford, is largely misinformed. Earlier in the day, we examined Stafford’s role in the 10 sacks the Lions gave up against the Vikings. Over at The Athletic (subscription required), they broke down the offensive line’s role in all 10 sacks, combined with a look at the coverage sacks. To those fellow Fortnite fans, the popular video game is adding official NFL skins to their game on Friday, and the most popular Fortnite streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, got early access. Ninja also happens to be a big Lions fan: The Lions will not be bringing back Cre’Von LeBlanc back in the near future. The cornerback did not make it through waivers and was claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. Romeo Okwara is a strong dude: While the Lions have already fired their special teams coordinator, head coach Matt Patricia is firmly behind offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. In case you were wondering, former Raiders defensive end Bruce Irvin cleared waivers on Tuesday and is now a free agent: Protect the football and it should fix everything. That seems to be the viewpoint of Mike McCarthy, whose Green Bay Packers have a variety of issues that have led to a 2-2-1 start."The big part of that game is focusing on the things we can control Color Rush Taylor Decker Jersey ," McCarthy said Monday, one day after his team lost at Detroit, 31-23, after digging itself a 24-0 hole. "We have to take care of the football."The Packers turned over the ball three times Sunday. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers lost a pair of fumbles and the ball glanced off cornerback Kevin King while he was blocking on a first-quarter punt.Green Bay didn't force any turnovers defensively, and through five games, the Packers are minus-2 in turnover differential, having lost it eight times (six fumbles, two interceptions) while taking away the ball six times (two fumbles, four interceptions).McCarthy said he believes turnovers contributed to his team losing the field position battle; he had the Packers at minus-300 in terms of hidden yardage. While he admitted that veteran kicker Mason Crosby's five misses — four field-goal attempts and one extra point — also factored into Sunday's loss, McCarthy said the Packers' struggles went deeper than the 13 points those misses left on the field."The common thread there is the turnovers, which obviously that rolls into the field position," McCarthy said, pointing out that Green Bay outgained Detroit 521 yards to 264. "Obviously we missed some field goals and so forth. (But) the fact of the matter is, I was very pleased with how we moved the football."In three of their games this season, the Packers have trailed by double digits: 20-0 early in the third quarter against Chicago, 28-10 at halftime at Washington, and 24-0 at halftime Sunday.Rodgers took much of the blame publicly after the game, acknowledging, "I've got to play better in the first half.""It's frustrating. We've been kind of a one-half team: one good half and one not-so-good half," said Rodgers, who finished the game completing 32 of 52 passes for 442 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions (108.0 passer rating). "I was a little off. I missed a couple I usually hit. We missed some opportunities there."(It was) definitely a disjointed game — not punting Frank Ragnow Jersey , putting up a lot of offense and not winning the game."The offense hasn't been the only side of the ball that's been disjointed.Against Washington, for example, Green Bay gave up 323 yards in the first half, and only 63 in the second. Against the Lions, the defense allowed 160 of 264 yards and 24 of their 31 points in the first half."We need to put a whole full game together," safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix said Monday. "Making more plays, finishing tackles, making this defense better. If we can critique ourselves and figure out what we can do better as individuals, I think we'll be better as a whole."As DBs, the one thing we want to do is catch interceptions, and capitalize on the opportunities we get. This is a long season. We've got to take advantage of our opportunities when we get them, and when they come, they come in bunches. We just have to make plays when the time comes."The Packers also have struggled with penalties, committing 12 for 112 against Detroit. For the season, Green Bay has committed 43 penalties for 413 yards; the Packers' opponents have been flagged only 30 times for 262 yards."Whether it's a slow start, fast finish, loose in the middle, it's all irrelevant because if you don't take care of the football, there's going to be other negative statistics that come off of that," McCarthy said. "This is not a getting-close-enough type of sport. We get that. We didn't win the game."It's part of the challenge in the early season. We have to get a little more detailed. The penalties were another negative. But taking care of the football and the penalties was a huge part of our not reaching the goal we set out to accomplish."

This year I wanted to do something different. A couple years ago I wrote about everything that Lions fans should do if they’re coming in from out of town for a game at Ford Field. This time I wanted to put myself in that position for once. So I went to our editor Jeremy Reisman and told him I need credentials for all the NFC North games. Eventually Cheap Frank Ragnow Jersey , he told me that I actually had to write this piece instead of just using it as an excuse to go to a game. I almost had him. So here are my tips on what it’s like to go to Minnesota if you’re a Lions fan. FlyThe first tip is that you have to fly here. It’s easy to drive to Chicago and it’s even easy, although not as easy, to drive to Green Bay, but Minnesota may be further than you think. For me—I live in western Michigan for reference—it would have been an eight-hour drive. For those who live in Detroit, it’s a little over 14 hours. That’s just too much for a football game. The ticket was pretty cheap. Something like $250 round trip. Just fly. The airportI have traveled a lot in my life. I’ve been in some of the biggest airports in the country and I’ve always felt like I could navigate my way around them with ease. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul airport is confusing as hell. It’s not that bad when you’re trying to find your gate. It is bad going through security because they have two posts and nobody knew the other existed. When TSA told everyone, there was nearly a sprint to the other side of the airport to get in line. Perhaps more confusing, though, was finding public ground transportation. Nobody tells you that you have to go underground to get to a completely different side of the airport. There are no obvious signs anywhere and if you asked someone, they’d say something like “take this escalator down and then take two up.” What?So when I got my Uber, there was a giant cement wall separating him from the driver. I had to find an elevator because the escalator was broken and there were no stairs. Side note, Mitch Hedberg used to say a broken escalator was just stairs. Finally I realized you have to go underground and come up on the other side. It wasn’t the end of the world. I got my ride and it was all good. Don’t rent a carHere’s the thing. The Uber ride to the hotel was about $27. Yes, that’s a lot, but it’s worth it when you get there and find out that there’s no parking anywhere. The limited parking that is there is very expensive. One of the guys in the press box said there were parking lots by the stadium that were charging $50 to park. That’s insane. The other reason is that once you get downtown, you’ll quickly see that everything that you’d want to do within the city—whether it’s night life or just a good bite to eat—is right there within walking distance or a quick Uber ride away. If you plan to stay awhile and want to see sights like the Mall Of America or Paisley Park—both of which are well outside of downtown—go ahead and get that rental. Just don’t park by the stadium. FoodI was only in town for two days, so my goal was to try to fit everything I could into Saturday. So I went with what I could. Here’s what I recommend. My first meal was from Pizza Luce, a place I first saw on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” television show. This was a place I always said I wanted to try. It did not disappoint. What I got was a pizza called The Bear. It was a meat lovers pizza with pepperoni, grilled chicken, grilled beef, ham and sausage. It was incredible. They have many other great offerings there for just about anybody, even gluten free stuff if that’s your thing. I throw my full support behind this place. I also had another pizza while I was there. The Vikings had Black Sheep pizza delivered for the press box after the game. This was also pretty good, but they seem to specialize in a thin crust and thin-bodied pizza as well. Lots of grease and big pepperonis help it out Tavon Wilson Jersey , but Pizza Luce still wins hands down. But if thin crust is your bag, Black Sheep was pretty good. Everyone said you have to try a Juicy Lucy when you’re in Minnesota. To Minnesotans? Minnesotians? I’m not sure. To the people that live there, a Juicy Lucy is what a Coney is to Detroiters. It’s the food that says, “Hey, I’m from Minnesota, and when I’m not ice fishing, I eat this.”A Juicy Lucy is a burger stuffed with cheese. The one I had actually came with a side of a spicy sweet and sour sauce that you poured on top of it. It was pretty good. I’ve been told since that there’s better places to get one in town. Matt’s Bar seems to be the favorite, but I was meeting with some Vikings writers, and it was their call on where we went. The StadiumThe first thing you’re going to notice is that this place is gigantic. It makes Ford Field look like a basketball arena. And, boy, does it get loud in there. When the Vikings fans get together to do the Skol chant thing, it is really a sight to behold and quite frankly, it makes me jealous that Lions fans don’t have a similar weekly ritual. Although we do have “Forward Down The Field,” but it’s not like this. Since I was in the press box, I can’t give too much information about the amenities there. But I can say that the stadium is very easy to get into and navigate through. Once they began to let fans in, they seemed to pile in very fast. I love Ford Field and consider it a home away from home, but there’s only like three entrances and if there’s a line, you’re waiting for a while. Of course, I did show up three hours before the game, so I didn’t get to see much outside when everyone showed up.The fansThis is probably what everyone wants to know if they’re heading out of town. What are Vikings fans like in their own house? They’re very nice. I don’t have a negative thing to say about anyone in the entire town. From the hotel, to the fans, to the Uber drivers http://www.lionsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-ricky-jean-francois-jersey , everyone was extremely polite. At the game, I saw a lot of Vikings fans talking with Lions fans in a fun and friendly way, and they seemed to feel the same way about us. The Vikings fans I met the night before had nothing but good things to say about people from Detroit. Don’t get them started on Packers fans, though. Maybe that’s why we get along so well. I must gave a special shout out to Arif Hasan of The Athletic Minnesota. He was kind enough to have dinner and a few beers with me on Saturday night. He told me all kinds of great stories about Minnesota, and I appreciate the time he spent with me when he didn’t have to. Go give Arif a follow on Twitter. He is very good writer, and I recommend you look at his work if you’re into football. It's an NFL cliche, the crafty cornerback fooling the rookie quarterback. That's exactly what happened in the biggest play of Detroit's 17-3 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.Darius Slay, who tied for the lead in the NFL with eight interceptions last season, stepped in front of intended receiver Trent Sherfield, picked off Rosen's pass and returned it 67 yards for the game's first touchdown, putting his team up 10-0 in the third quarter."I kind of baited him," Slay said. "I knew it was coming. I knew it before the play even happened. The only thing I was concerned about was if I was going to score with it. I knew it was coming and I made a play on it."Rosen said Slay "made it seem like he was giving him (Sherfield) space. It made it seem like he was playing really soft because it was third-and-long. But right when our receiver broke at the sticks, he just made a really good play."He's a veteran. That's why maybe go away from him next time."The Lions (5-8), losers of five of their previous six overall, ended an eight-game losing streak in Arizona that dated to 1993. It was a matchup of two first-year coaches who are having their struggles and this one clearly went to Detroit's Matt Patricia over the Cardinals' Steve Wilks."It is great to get the win," Patricia said. "It is great to see some of the improvement in some of the things we have been doing in the last month or last three weeks or so."Arizona (3-10), which fell flat coming off its biggest win of the season a week earlier at Green Bay, avoided being shut out with Zane Gonzalez's 22-yard field goal that cut the lead to 10-3 with 8:14 to play.Rosen completed four of six passes as Arizona drove to the 5-yard line, but a fade pass to Larry Fitzgerald was incomplete and the Cardinals, who fell to 1-6 at home, settled for the field goal.Detroit took the subsequent kickoff and went 75 yards in seven plays, with the help of a pass interference penalty against Budda Baker Kenny Golladay Jersey , and Zach Zenner's 1-yard touchdown run with 4:05 to play put the game safely in the Lions' control."It was missed tackles and penalties that got them down there," Wilks said. "I thought the defense kept us in the game pretty much to that point."Matt Prater's 47-yard field goal in the first half accounted for the other Detroit points on a day neither offense could do much."It was one of the games you had to kind of wear them out," Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said. "They got some good players up there. That fourth quarter our guys really started leaning on them, dominating."Fitzgerald caught five passes, all in the second half and most when the game had been all but decided, to move ahead of Jerry Rice for most receptions by a player for one team at 1,286.Detroit took the opening kickoff and moved downfield with a strong running game. But after a short pass from Stafford, LeGarrette Blount had the ball knocked loose by Baker, who recovered at the Cardinals 30.Neither team threatened again until the Lions used up 7 minutes, 55 seconds to drive 65 yards and set up Prater's field goal with 9:35 left in the first half.Arizona took the kickoff and got a 19-yard pass from Rosen to Sherfield, combined with a facemask penalty against Detroit, moved the ball to the Lions 30. But a pass to David Johnson lost 6 yards and Gonzalez's 54-yard field goal try had plenty of distance but bounced off the left upright.FINALLY FITZGERALDFitzgerald, who entered the game with at least one catch in 223 consecutive games, was targeted once and didn't have a catch in the first half. Finally, with 5:48 left in the third quarter, Fitzgerald's 14-yard reception kept the streak alive and moved him ahead of Rice. Three of his catches came the last time Arizona had the ball.INJURIESDetroit was hit hard by injuries. In the span of three plays, the Lions lost defensive ends Ezekiel Ansah (knee) and Da'Shawn Hand (shoulder). Later in the half, right tackle Rick Wagner left with a concussion. The team also lost fullback Nick Bellore (ankle), wide receiver Bruce Ellington (hamstring), cornerback Marcus Cooper (back) and safety Charles Washington (hamstring)."Injuries happen," Patricia said. "Certainly we had a couple of them today. It is just important for us to always maintain our philosophy of everybody has to be ready to go."Arizona wide receiver Chad Williams was inactive after aggravating a hamstring injury late last week.UP NEXTLions: at Buffalo next Sunday.Cardinals: at Atlanta next Sunday.

Detroit Lions lose Jeremiah Ledbetter http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/christian-jones-jersey-authentic , Marcus Lucas to other teams’ practice squad The Detroit Lions are still trying to build their 10-man practice squad, and they’re going to have a little tougher time than they may have anticipated. Though every player they waived this weekend cleared waivers, not all will be returning to the Lions’ practice squad.According to The Detroit News’ Justin Rogers, defensive tackle Jeremiah Ledbetter turned down an offer to join the Lions’ practice squad and will be signing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 10-man team. Ledbetter joined the Lions as a sixth-round draft pick in 2017. He made the team in his rookie year, and appeared in all 16 games last year, totalling 14 tackles and 0.5 sacks along the way. Additionally, the Lions won’t be getting tight end Marcus Lucas back, either. Rogers is reporting the former Missouri tight end will be joining the Seahawks. It’s unclear whether the Lions tried to keep Lucas around Womens Ricky Jean Francois Jersey , but the 26-year-old did haul in 10 passes during the preseason. If the Lions are considering bringing in another defensive tackle for the practice squad Josh Fatu and Christian Ringo both are eligible. Unfortunately, the only other tight end that was on the Lions’ roster this offseason was Sean McGrath, and he is no longer practice squad eligible.6 Winners, 5 Losers from the Lions’ dress rehearsal win over the Buccaneers WinnersPass rushAfter rewatching the first half of last week’s game, I noticed a very interesting lineup. The Lions, on an obvious passing situation, trotted out Anthony Zettel and Kerry Hyder as interior D-linemen, and it worked.Patricia went with that same lineup on 3rd-and-long situations and we saw the same results http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/nevin-lawson-jersey-authentic , with Hyder notching another couple of pressures and Zettel earning a sack that was nullified after a hold on Tavon Wilson extended the drive. The pass rush wasn’t entirely consistent, but it was much better tonight than it has been to date, especially from the first-team defense.Hakeem VallesValles is becoming the most reliable TE the Lions have in the passing game with him hauling in three catches for 38 yards against the Bucs on Friday, while Michael Roberts was out there for the 109-yard return TD showing absolutely no effort to make a tackle. I think Valles is a near-lock at this point. Also, keep an eye out for Luke Willson’s status, who suffered a knee injury during the game and never returned.Ricky Jean FrancoisI was going to throw him in there with the pass rush, but I think RJF deserves his own spot for being arguably the best player on the field for the Lions on Friday night. With six tackles, Jean Francois led all Lions not named Nevin Lawson with 6 tackles Youth Kerryon Johnson Jersey , making some key stops against the run and notching at least one pressure.Running gameIf there is any positive to take from this game, it’s the running backs and the dudes up front blocking for them. Four of the Lions’ five running backs averaged 4.1 yards per carry or higher with the O-line opening up real, actual lanes and getting some serious push up front.Matt CasselHave to imagine he’s your backup QB after the performance he put on while playing with a mix of starters and second stringers. Rudock did lead the Lions to a win on the final drive of the game, but I think the edge goes to Cassel here. Brandon PowellI still don’t see Powell making the team with Tate and TJ Jones likely ahead of him and no real reason for the Lions to keep a slot guy as their fifth receiver, but he left some good tape out there for the Lions or any other team looking for a shifty, special teams ace. Powell should easily make the practice squad and his best chance to make the final roster is if TJ Jones’ spot isn’t as safe as we think.LosersRed zone offenseThe offense had absolutely no problem moving the ball on the Bucs early, but the dreaded red zone offense reared its ugly head as we’ve seen in years past, and despite getting all the way inside the 10-yard line on two consecutive drives http://www.thelionsfootballauthentic.com/matt-prater-jersey-authentic , the offense walked away with just six points total.Jarrad DavisThis game was reminiscent of the Patriots’ preseason game from last year. To see Davis show no improvement whatsoever is a little disconcerting for the second-year linebacker. Davis is the captain of the defense, and may be the biggest liability they have right now on that side of the ball. People who want to watch real footballI don’t really know how to explain what happened at the end of the first half, but instead of electing to use some of his timeouts, Matt Patricia decided to let his offense run the clock to its final five seconds for a 62-yard field goal attempt. And then this happened.Welp.I feel pretty confident that this was not a series of decisions that Patricia would make during the regular season, but who knows? Preseason is weird.Nevin LawsonLawson had a bullseye on his back and was constantly abused by anyone lined up across from him. That includes getting torched in the second half against the Bucs’ reserves. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a worse performance in the preseason since I started writing about the Lions, and I’m pretty sure Lawson might receive the first ever negative grade from Pro Football Focus.First team on both sidesThis was a poor performance all across the board from the starters against a team they beat last year and should probably outperform. It’s only the preseason, but I think there is some real cause for concern with how the starters have looked so far.

Before he was finally traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Robert Covington Youth Brian Poole Jersey , Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick, Jimmy Butler was ruining the Minnesota Timberwolves’ season. You might say that it’s hard to blame Butler for the Wolves’ 30-point loss to the Blazers on Sunday since Butler didn’t play. But that’s precisely an example of how Butler was ruining the Wolves. He didn’t play a second because he was trying to ruin the Wolves to force them into trading him, as much as he wants to deny it. And the Wolves — or coach-president Tom Thibodeau, at least — were playing along.Butler was held out Sunday for what the team termed “precautionary rest.” Butler is, by all indications, healthy and has played one game in six days. Minnesota doesn’t have a back-to-back on the schedule until after Thanksgiving. He then played 43 minutes in a close loss to the Lakers on Wednesday, then 41 on Friday as the trade with Philly was being finalized. There was a dispute as to whether Butler was deciding when he’ll play or whether he was making that call in concert with the franchise. If the team was deciding when to play him, it made bad choices.Everything you need to know about the Jimmy Butler dramaJimmy Butler wants out of Minnesota. This is how we got here.Winners and Losers from the 76ers-Wolves blockbusterJimmy Butler’s ‘vociferous’ return to Timberwolves practice, explainedThe 7 most savage moments from Jimmy Butler’s interview with Rachel NicholsThe Timberwolves let the Jimmy Butler mess happenJimmy Butler was ruining the Timberwolves’ season, and maybe their futureInside the state of the 76ers before the Jimmy Butler tradeButler played against the Warriors on Oct. 31, a game Minnesota was destined to lose because Golden State is unbeatable right now. Sandwiched around that 35-minute performance from Butler, he sat out games against the rival Jazz (a narrow Minnesota win) and the rival Blazers (an embarrassing loss). Then, he played 43 and 41 minutes in the next two games. If you’re really trying to strategically rest a top player, you play him in the winnable critical games and sit him against teams likely to run you out of the gym. Though these days, many teams are clearly able to run the Wolves out of the gym.The fact the Timberwolves only announced Butler’s plans after a reporter who frequently seems to get scoops out of Butler’s camp scoops them was a big indicator as to who is captain of this ship. It’s the disgruntled star who orchestrated a training camp rupture Youth Takkarist McKinley Jersey , a practice floor ambush, and a thorough embarrassing of the franchise’s leadership. Among everyone involved, Butler had the least invested in the future of the franchise and he’s the one that still called all the shots. This was absolute lunacy. It was one of the weirdest episodes in recent NBA power dynamic history. In the moment, some critics claimed Carmelo Anthony held the Nuggets hostage in 2010 and early 2011 by limiting the number of teams he’d commit to signing an extension with prior to 2011 free agency. The truth was that Melo had been honest about his preferences — the Nuggets were totally free to ignore them if another team would be willing to be competitive in the trade market. But Melo actually played through the drama, and pretty well. He didn’t jerk Denver around when it came to availability or rest. He fulfilled his contract.Butler didn’t. That said, it’s impossible to say he held the Wolves hostage. They held themselves hostage by letting Butler take the wheel.Photo by Hannah Foslien/Getty ImagesTrading a star rental — especially one as idiosyncratic as Butler has turned out to be — isn’t easy, but the lack of urgency from Thibodeau and the Wolves was shocking. They made the playoffs by one game last season. They were two wins from the No. 3 seed. Every game matters, and the Wolves were out here spitting away games on Butler’s whims. They have the No. 14 point differential out of 15 West teams, the only saving grace being a fairly tough schedule so far. What’s worse is that Karl-Anthony Towns regressed amid the drama. It’s impossible to say whether the Butler fiasco weighed so heavily on Towns that he underperformed, but regardless, it wasn’t not helping. He’s been less consistent on both ends this season. If Butler and Thibodeau thought this whole vortex of discontent would help Towns thrive — well, it didn’t. As I’ve written, Towns is the most important person involved. Every second the Wolves spent antagonizing him instead of helping him reach his fullest potential was a moment wasted.Waiting this long was wrong: the Wolves needed to trade Butler or excuse him from the team until a trade was found. You can’t easily force him to play when healthy — a doctor can always find an injury — but it would have bene better for a certain absence than an uncertain presence at this point. Butler was too disruptive.Thibodeau was guilty of malpractice for allowing this to happen. He’s the don of the team — he controls the coaching staff and the front office. There’s nowhere else to pass blame. Even though he eventually found religion and traded him, he should be on the next train out of town. This is as sloppy as anything Phil Jackson did in New York. This might actually prevent Thibodeau from ever being a head coach in the NBA again. Did he realize this? Does he realize how badly the Butler fiasco has ruined his reputation? This was ugly. The one way to start the clean-up process was to get Butler out of there, one way or another. It’s not always sunny in Philadelphia: Falcons vs. Eagles may have downpours, lightning You know game time is close when we start looking at weather Youth Calvin Ridley Jersey , and oh man is game time close. We are mere hours away from kicking off another season. So why not start it off with some rain.We aren’t meteorologists at the Falcoholic. In fact, none of us even finished high school, but we can definitely read the weather forecast. There’s an over 40 percent chance of rain right around kickoff, with that number dropping off farther into the game. That feels very unofficial, so here’s word from a real meteorologist, Alex Sosnowski from Accuweather. If there’s lightning, the game will certainly be delayed. Nothing like starting out the season with a game delay. Announcers usually run out of anything interesting to say at least two hours before kickoff, so make sure you have enough booze to get through it.If Philadelphia is on the receiving end of a downpour, it should tilt the game a bit towards the Eagles. Preseason suggests Nick Foles has returned to being Nick Foles, and the team is both short Alshon Jeffery and his backup. The expectation was the Eagles would play conservative, we’d see multiple tight end sets, and Jay Ajayi frequently. The rain would limit passing for both teams, a definite plus for the Eagles. We will update with any new weather, but lets hope any rain is short lived.

For the last few years http://www.falconsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-grady-jarrett-jersey , around one in 10 college football bowl games has been played in an MLB stadium. So have a few regular season games over the years, including a big one in Week 12 of 2018: No. 13 Syracuse against No. 3 Notre Dame. Most major stadiums are multi-purposed in some fashion or another, but football games in baseball parks is a weird match. It requires fitting a 120-yard-long rectangular peg into a diamond-shaped hole. It doesn’t always look natural. And yet, it works. The four recent and current ballpark bowls — the now-moved Miami Beach, Arizona’s Cheez-It (formerly the Cactus), New York’s Pinstripe, and St. Petersburg’s Gasparilla — come off fine every year, even though the St. Pete’s artificial turf looks like a scene out of a dystopian fanfic. There was a time when baseball stadiums were massive concrete donuts, big circles that could be purposed however they needed to be. Think the old Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, RFK Stadium in Washington, or the Kingdome in Seattle. The newer generation that hosts football games doesn’t look like those. With the exception of Tropicana Field, which hosts the St. Pete, football-hosting ballparks were all built in 1998 or later. They were built, to a large degree, with these specific accommodations in mind. It’s a far cry from Wrigley Field, whose dimensions demanded in 2010 that Illinois and Northwestern only use one end zone.Neither offense used this end zone in the 2010 Illinois-Northwestern game at WrigleyPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images“In fairness to Wrigley, they’re a very old venue that didn’t have the luxury we did of going into this with a business model in mind,” Doug Behar, the stadium operations vice president for the New York Yankees, told SB Nation in 2016. “We worked very closely with our architects to make sure we were able to do these types of events and do them in a manner that meets the Yankees’ standard, that it feels Yankee, that it feels Yankee Stadium. We were fortunate to be able to do a lot of the homework on the front end.” It’s not a happy accident that a football field at Yankee Stadium runs fairly symmetrically from home plate to dead center field. The configuration was different at Marlins Park, which hosted the Miami Beach Bowl, but it worked there Brian Poole Jersey , too. Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports“There hasn’t been a time that anybody’s looked at it and said, ‘Boy, this doesn’t fit right,’” said Scott Draper, who’d been the executive director of that game before it relocated to Frisco, Texas. (It got little attendance in Miami.) “A football field fits like it should in a baseball park.”A lot goes into making a baseball stadium a football stadium. The operations team at the Fiesta Bowl (which also runs the Cheez-It) brings in 3,800 seats and lays them in the Chase Field outfield, enclosing the field and making for a significantly more intimate gathering. How it looked a few years ago, when it was called the Cactus: Chase Field, dressed up for the Cactus Bowl.Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports“I just say that it provides a much different feel and atmosphere,” said Justin Balich, who worked as Fiesta and Cactus operations director. “It’s much tighter than a normal open-air stadium. They both have their perks, obviously, or their positives and negatives. But I would say with last year’s game, it was definitely more intimate.”The Cheez-It is the only one of the ballpark bowl games that’s wheeled seats out onto the field. But it works, because it improves sight lines and looks better than leaving the Diamondbacks’ right field wide open beyond one sideline. Converting Chase Field from baseball to football takes 10 days of 12-to-16-hour work from a team of laborers, Balich said. That’s compared to a three- or four-day process of converting the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the NFL’s Cardinals, to host the Fiesta or a national title game. The Yankee Stadium setup comes together gradually over two or three weeks. The playing field is only part of the work.If you’re putting a football field down, you’ll have to dig up a pitcher’s mound. The Cheez-It dumps 90,000 square feet of fresh sod atop the diamond, while the the Yankees put it over their stadium’s dirt infield and work with a supplier to make sure the new grass is consistent with the old. The Gasparilla is played on artificial carpeting, so the equation’s different. At the St. Pete Bowl Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY SportsBut the conversions go beyond the field. Baseball locker rooms are designed for teams of 25 players, plus some September call-ups. Football teams travel with about 100 players. The Yankees bring extra lockers into their clubhouse, while the Cheez-It Bowl puts players in batting tunnels and improvises. “Each team has a unique configuration as opposed to what they would see in normal circumstances Authentic Deion Jones Jersey ,” Balich said. “The comments we’ve heard back from the teams that have participated and seen the facility is that in some cases they have a better setup than they do when they’re on the road at other institutions.”A Chase Field hospitality lounge becomes a digital media room for the bowl game. At the Pinstripe, part of the work is converting some luxury suites into coaches’ booths, with all the partitioning and cabling that’s associated. Plus you’ve got other aesthetics going up all around the stadium.“Obviously there’s a lot of painting, a lot of signage,” Yankee Stadium’s Behar said. The goal is to find a balance. The football field needs to be regulation. It needs to be safe, without players hurting themselves on bad grass or falling into dugouts on the third-base line. It needs to accommodate players and coaches as normally as possible. But what’s the fun in using a baseball stadium if you’re forgetting all about baseball? Especially at Yankee Stadium, maintaining some sense of history is key.“When you get the marching bands out there and you see the teams come in and do the walkthroughs for the first time, and they’re in awe of where they are, and it’s very cool,” Behar said. “On one hand, it is Yankee Stadium, and it looks and feels like Yankee Stadium. But it has the excitement of a football venue and it’s very transparent and obvious. “We’ve seen that even with our high school games, high school championship games. When you're in the seats or on the sidelines, it takes a minute. You’ve gotta remember, ‘Oh, this actually is Yankee Stadium.’” In his first game with the Atlanta Falcons after signing earlier this week in place of an injured Matt Bryant, Giorgio Tavecchio converted a 56-yard field goal with 1:55 left to play to seal a 23-20 victory over the New York Giants on Monday night. After a 2-yard Saquon Barkley touchdown run brought the Giants with eight at 20-12 with 4:47 remaining, the Falcons bled nearly three minutes off the clock and Tavecchio’s career-long field goal gave the Falcons the 11-point cushion they needed to hold the victory.Sterling Shepard caught a 58-yard pass on the following possession and Odell Beckham Jr. caught a 1-yard touchdown from Eli Manning with five seconds remaining to pull within three after a successful two-point conversion, but the Falcons recovered the onside kick to officially put the game away.Tavecchio’s previous career-long was a 53-yard field goal with the Oakland Raiders last season.Matt Ryan threw for 379 yards and a touchdown and Tevin Coleman rushed for 50 yards and a score in place of an injured Devonta Freeman to lead the way for the Falcons.Ryan hit Marvin Hall for a 47-yard touchdown to give the Falcons a 7-0 lead with just under five minutes remaining in the first half.Aldrick Rosas and Taveccho traded field goals over the next two quarters as the game remained within a single score until the midway point of the fourth quarter.Tevin Coleman broke a 30-yard touchdown run to cap a nine-play, 65-yard drive that gave Atlanta a 20-6 lead with 7:47 left to play. The Giants finally managed to mount a touchdown drive of their own. A nine-play, 78-yard drive ended with Barkley pushing into the end zone from two yards out to make it a 20-12 game. New York would go for a two-point conversion instead of kicking an extra point, but Manning’s pass for Beckham was incomplete leaving it an eight-point game.Barkley was limited to just 43 yards on 14 carries on the ground for the Giants, but did catch nine passes for 51 yards on the night.Shepard (167) and Beckham (143) each went over 100 yards receiving on the night as Manning threw for 399 yards and a touchdown on the night for the Giants.

The Watch Grid motto: every college football weekend is a good college football weekend. Time to put that to the test! Week 11 boasts shockingly few real stakes Youth Ricardo Allen Jersey , at least until the upsets start happening. The upsets gods must find a way to see us through. Below, the Watch Grid attempts to sort your weekend by watchability. As always, watchability is not determined by the quality of your favorite football team, because such glory cannot be contained within a spreadsheet of any size. Your streaming links are here. [Weeknight games removed, for your Saturday convenience.] Saturday, Nov. 10 college football schedule I’ve been doing the Watch Grid for a long time now, and I can’t remember ever straining this hard to find a WATCH THIS game. This is blatantly generous to Texas-Texas Tech, but we’ve got to have at least ONE game in that column, right? Arguments could be made for Ohio State-Michigan State (maybe a blowout, but definitely ugly) http://www.falconsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-grady-jarrett-jersey , Bedlam (probably a blowout), Auburn-Georgia (potentially a blowout, but probably very stupid), or Clemson-Boston College (maybe not a bad choice) as WATCH THIS games, but would you really expect your casual-fan neighbor to come over just for any of those games? All that said: every college football weekend is a good college football weekend. Dumb and beautiful things will happen no matter what’s on the schedule, and there’s always a chance we stumble into another BLOOD WEEK. When the Falcons lost three key players to injured reserve in the first three weeks of the season, it blew a hole in the middle of their defense.Grady Jarrett‘s absence was much shorter (two weeks), but his return from a sprained ankle sparked something in the Falcons last night. The massive defensive tackle had two sacks in the first half, and that provided an obvious lift for a team which continues to play without linebacker Deion Jones and safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen.“It’s hard when you’re leader of a unit and you’re out and you can go out there with your boys. Me coming back, I definitely learned to show how much I cared about this team Brian Poole Jersey , this defense,” Jarrett said, via Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. “We’re a team that knows everything that we want is still ahead of us.“And we’re going to approach it in that way: Not let one win stay on our mind too long, not letting a loss stay on our mind. We’re going to take this win and enjoy it, but we’ve got to put it to bed [and] go back to work because we’ve got a long way to go. And we’re a group of tough guys, man. We’ll never give up.”Of course, it’s possible that the correct answer is “it was just the Giants.” The Falcons are still 3-4, and have a lot of work to do to return to the land of contenders. But putting the big man back in the middle of the line was a big boost.

Arizona Cardinals lose A.Q Shipley for the year The reality of football is that injuries happen all the time.It is a violent sport http://www.cardinalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jamar-taylor-jersey , a violent game that leads to a number of different injuries that happen at any time and anywhere on the field. That has plagued the Arizona Cardinals the last two seasons, especially along the offensive line. The one constant the last two seasons has been center A.Q. Shipley, who was the only player to start all 32 games during that time frame. Now, the bad luck of injuries has caught up to the starting center, as Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Steve Wilks announced that the starting center will be out of the season:The 32 year old Shipley has battled for the opportunity to start in the NFL, after being drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft, Shipley would not find an NFL home until 2012 with the Indianapolis Colts and offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. He started five games at center in 2012 for Arians and the Colts, before moving to Baltimore in 2013, where he started nine games at left guard. In 2014, Shipley would head back to Indy Antoine Bethea Jersey , starting five games for the Colts. In 2015, the Cardinals signed Shipley to a two-year deal worth just over $1.5 million with performance and incentives, but he would only start three games as the team decided to bring veteran Lyle Sendlein back. No, it wouldn’t be until age 30, that Shipley would get the chance to be the man for a team at the center position. In 2016 and 2017, Shipley would be the only constant, working above and beyond his measured ability and winning over teammates and coaches alike with his approach, demeanor and understanding of the game.He came into the season, knowing the Cardinals had drafted his successor in Mason Cole, but also realizing that he would not relinquish the job. Now Authentic Gabe Holmes Jersey , with the injury, it will be Mason Cole’s time. Here is to a quick recovery for Shipley and continued success moving forward.
