Igor Kokoskov is the first NBA head coach born and raised outside North America Kalen Ballage Color Rush Jersey , but he reminded everyone at his introductory news conference with the Phoenix Suns on Monday that he didn’t exactly just get off the plane.

”I don’t consider myself as a European coach,” he said. ”I’m an NBA coach.”

Kokoskov, 46, just finished his 18th season as an NBA assistant coach. He’s been with six different teams. Some played slow. Some played fast. He has been on the staffs of seven squads to reach the conference finals. This game is not new to him.

”As a coach, I’m not spoiled,” he said. ”I think your job is to build and create from what you have in front of you. I’m the kind of guy who loves my team. I love my guys and they can feel it.”

Kokoskov was named head coach of the Suns last week but, as an assistant with the Utah Jazz, he had to finish his work in the playoff series against the Houston Rockets before turning his attention to the desert.

He was an assistant with the Suns from 2008 to 2013 and became a U.S. citizen during a ceremony on the court at Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena.

”We really, as a family, the Family Kokoskov, consider Phoenix as a home base,” he said. ”This is always home base.”

Although he certainly has paid the traditional dues as an NBA assistant, he knows he’ll also have the label ”foreign coach.”

Kokoskov praised the ”courage” of Suns owner Robert Sarver and the team’s management to hire a ”rookie coach, international coach, foreign coach.”

”I kind of carry some responsibilities because, if this fails, then American media and the public are going to say, `See Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , they can’t coach. We’ve got to stick with our guys,”’ Kokoskov said.

But any ultimate judgment, he said, will come from what happens on the court.

”It’s all about winning,” Kokoskov said. ”It doesn’t really matter if you’re an international or American coach. All that matters is can you get it done and can you coach?”

He inherits a team that went 21-61, worst in the NBA and second-worst in franchise history. The Suns haven’t made the playoffs in eight seasons but do have the most ping pong balls in Tuesday night’s lottery to determine what team gets the No. 1 overall pick,

Still, Kokoskov said the Suns have ”a good solid foundation.”

”With a couple of guys maybe we’re going to add, obviously we are expecting a lot from the upcoming draft and free agency,” he said. ”That is something that we have a long summer to discuss, to talk, but the foundation is there.”

Kokoskov, who coached Slovenia to the EuroBasket 2017 championship, said he’s not wedded to any particular style of play, that it will depend on the talent at hand. When he was with the Suns, there was Steve Nash and it was a fast pace.

”I was fortunate to be part of a winning team and be part of the team with Steve Nash and Grant Hill and the rest of the guys,” he said, ”being part of the staff with Alvin Gentry.”

Kokoskov was there when the Suns advanced to the Western Conference Finals in 2010.

But the years have not been kind to the once-vibrant franchise since Nash’s departure.

General manager Ryan McDonough has said the time is now to inject some more experienced talent into the current mix of youngsters Manny Pina Milwaukee Brewers Jersey , who are led by burgeoning star Devin Booker.

Kokoskov gets the task of trying to fulfill that ambition.

The team, he said, needs to be playing on television in June, and he wasn’t talking about its perennial appearance in the draft lottery.

”I think the city of Phoenix deserves that,” Kokoskov said. ”I think the fans that love basketball deserve that and we’ll do our best to bring this organization and team into that path. We want to be in June on TV.”

Running back Frank Gore came to Indianapolis with Super Bowl aspirations.

Three years later, he’s leaving without a ring or an assurance he’ll ever play another football game.

General manager Chris Ballard announced Wednesday the Colts do not intend to re-sign the 34-year-old, soon-to-be free agent, who is ranked No. 5 in career rushing.

”Frank is at a point where he knows we need to get younger,” Ballard said during the first day of the NFL’s annual scouting combine in Indianapolis. ”And I wanted to give Frank a chance to finish his career where he wants to.”

Not much followed the script after Gore opted to reunite with college teammate Andre Johnson with the Colts.

After quarterback Andrew Luck reached three consecutive Pro Bowls and made three straight playoff appearances, taking Indy one step deeper each season, Gore and others thought the Colts were on the verge of a breakout.

Instead, Luck hurt his throwing shoulder three weeks into the 2015 season and everything has gone south.

He has missed 26 of 48 games over the past three seasons, each of which ended with Indy missing the postseason. General manager Ryan Grigson, who signed Gore, was fired following the 2016 season and coach Chuck Pagano was fired in December.

Now, with Luck apparently on the road back to Indy, Gore is on his way out.

Ballard said Luck is expected to return to team headquarters in early April to continue rehabbing.

Getting Luck back in town would be a welcome change for the Colts, who monitored Luck’s recovery for the nearly six weeks he spent in Europe and the eight weeks he has spent in California since the end of the season.

”Is it going to help having Andrew back in the building? Absolutely Authentic Brian O'Neill Jersey ,” Ballard said. ”But I think it will be good for Andrew to be around the locker room and among his guys, and I think he’d tell you the same thing.”

He and just about everyone else, though, will miss Gore’s leadership and optimism.

Despite playing behind a struggling, ineffective offensive line each season in Indy, he never complained. He simply kept working, talking positive and plugging ahead.

The results were impressive.

After falling 33 yards short of his ninth 1,000-yard season in 2015, he rebounded with 1,025 yards at age 33 in 2016 – making him the oldest 1,000-yard rusher since 35-year-old John Riggins in 1982. Then in December, the ageless Gore had a career-high 36 carries for 130 yards in an overtime loss in a Buffalo blizzard.

He even made passing some of the league’s best runners look routine.

Ballard said Gore actually broke his thumb during that Buffalo game and doctors told him they could repair it by inserting a pin. While Gore never hinted publicly he was hurt, it was a different story behind closed doors.

”Frank said `I’m a football player, I’m playing,”’ Ballard said.

Four days later, Gore was back on the field against Denver. Three weeks later, Gore played in his 48th and final game with the Colts – a 24-carry, 100-yard performance that left him just 76 yards short of passing Curtis Martin for No. 4.

The only other players ahead of Gore are Emmitt Smith Michael Dickson Jersey Seahawks , Walter Payton and Barry Sanders.

His nine 1,000-yard seasons are fifth behind Smith (11), Payton, Sanders and Martin (10), and he holds the league record with 12 consecutive seasons with 1,200 yards from scrimmage.

But he was always about more than numbers.

”He’s a legend in my mind,” new coach Frank Reich said. ”He set the standard for on what backs did in (pass) protection.”

And even though, he still wants a ring, he’s not willing to sacrifice his principles to get one.

”I know I still can play, and I know I want to help a team,” he said in late December. ”I don’t want to just be part of a team, I want to help a team, and I don’t want anyone to say I rode the bench to get a ring.”

Just call the New England Patriots the University of Georgia north.

The Patriots used their two first-round picks in the NFL draft to plug a hole on their offensive line and to bolster their depth at running back.

They selected 6-2 Hector Rondon Houston Astros Jersey , 302-pound offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn out of Georgia with the 23rd overall pick on Thursday night. They then chose 5-foot-11, 215-pound Georgia running back Sony Michel 31st overall pick. New England has a total of five selections in the first 95 picks.

They were just some of several needs for the AFC champions following the departure of a handful of starters in free agency.

Wynn started his college career as a guard but shifted to left tackle as a senior, earning second-team AP All-America honors in 2017. But he said he's open to playing anywhere on the offensive line at the next level.

"It doesn't matter where the Patriots put me, I'm ready to contribute any way I can," Wynn said.

Michel was a dual threat for the Bulldogs, rushing for 1,227 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior in 2017. He averaged 7.9 yards per carry and also had a receiving touchdown. He was one of three running backs taken in first round, joining Saquon Barkley (No. 2 to Giants) and Rashaad Penny (No. 27 to Seattle).

Wynn and Michel join a New England roster that already features two Georgia alums 鈥?starting center David Andrews and receiver Malcolm Mitchell.

Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio said there was no hesitation in selecting a running back in the first round. New England hasn't used a first-round pick on running back since taking Laurence Maroney with the 21st overall pick in 2006. The Patriots lost running back Dion Lewis to Tennessee in free agency.

"Our thing is pick good football players that have good traits. However they get here, they get here," Caserio said. "There's no template of how you put it together."

Michel does enter the league with some baggage. He has a knee condition that concerned some executives heading into the draft process. He also had 12 career fumbles at Georgia.

Michel said simply that "I'm healthy," when asked about his knee.

Wynn is recovering from tearing the labrum in his shoulder back in November. He had surgery on it in January and said he's "right on track for recovery." He expects to be ready for mini-camp in June.

He said the fumble issue is something he plans to correct.

"It's all about being aware of how I carry the football Odell Beckham Jr Giants Jersey ," he said. "Ball placement. It's something I should focus on and work on."

Wynn would seem to be undersized as a tackle at the NFL level, though he could be an option to replace left tackle Nate Solder, who signed with the New York Giants.

Patriots starting right guard Shaq Mason is also entering the final year of his rookie contract and will become an unrestricted free agent following the upcoming season. With Mason expected to garner a lot of interest in the free agency market in 2019, this could be a pre-emptive move on the part of Bill Belichick to get someone in the pipeline now.

The Patriots have started rookies up front before 鈥?left guard Joe Thuney started 16 games in his first year in 2016.

Wynn's selection was part of a run on offensive linemen in the first round Thursday night. Six linemen were selected before the first wide receiver 鈥?Maryland's D.J. Moore 鈥?came off the board at No. 24.

New England still has needs on defense, including linebacker, defensive end and cornerback. The Patriots are also in the market for a quarterback to develop behind 40-year-old Tom Brady.

They had a chance to get former Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans, who visited the Patriots facility during the pre-draft process.

But they were undercut by the Titans and its new head coach and former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel, who selected Evans with the 22nd pick it acquired from Baltimore.

Caserio insisted they didn't feel slighted by the move.

"(Titans general manager) Jon (Robinson) and Mike did what they thought was best for their team," he said. "But we didn't like throw any pens against the wall."

鈥?After his second interception, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback A.J. The latest victory coupled with Tennessee’s loss at Arizona moved Jacksonville atop the division. It’s the first time since 2010 the Jaguars have had the outright lead this late in a season.“We really should have (blown) them out if we’re being real about it,” cornerback Jalen Ramsey said. The Seahawks (8-5) scored twice on long passes in the fourth quarter, with Wilson finding Paul Richardson for 61 yards and Tyler Lockett for 74 yards. The second one cut the lead to 30-24, and Seattle got one last chance to tie or take the lead. But Wilson misfired on a fourth-and-9 play near midfield.“We had it exactly where we wanted to at the end of the game,” Wilson said. “I don’t know if it can get any better than that. That’s got to be one of the most exciting games you can watch. Shoot man, we should have won. We felt like we should have won.”Leonard Fournette iced the game with a 13-yard run on a third-and-11 play, which gave him 101 yards on the ground. Jefferson tried to climb into the stands after getting hit with what looked like a plastic bottle. Seattle coach Pete Carroll also got flagged for coming onto the field. Carroll walked into Seattle’s huddle, possibly to calm his players down.“Nobody likes to lose, but at the end of the day, this is our profession,” Jaguars defensive tackle Malik Jackson said. “We have to start acting right and be professionals. That’s twice now that teams have gone against us and wanted to act out. We’re just socking them in the mouth and getting them a little upset. We’re going to keep doing it. That doesn’t bother us.”Added Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis: “There’s no room in the game for that. You see we’re kneeling. You can get somebody hurt. We’re out there trying to kneel. There are no timeouts. You guys can’t stop the clock, so why try to hurt somebody?“We had 60 minutes to handle that. The last 30 seconds, while we’re kneeling, you’re going to spear somebody in the legs? That’s not cool.”During the week http://www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com/saquon-barkley-jersey , the Jaguars refused to call it a “statement game” even though it was a meaningful home contest in December against a perennial playoff contender and recent Super Bowl champion. They relented afterward, acknowledging the significance of the victory before a sellout crowd of 64,431, first full building since 2016 season opener against Green Bay.“This is not the old Jaguars team,” Fournette said. “We are not pushovers and are going to fight back.”QB STATSBortles played one of his best games in four seasons. For the second time in four seasons Matt Belisle Jersey , the Seattle Seahawks have started training camp with a star safety absent because of his contract situation.

This one may not end as amicably as the last time.

In an offseason already filled with big name departures, the Seahawks opened camp Thursday without safety Earl Thomas, who is trying to force the hand of the only franchise he's played for in his attempt to get a new contract.

Thomas' current deal runs through the end of the upcoming season. He announced his intentions in June to skip any team activities until Seattle addressed his long-term security and he held true to that statement by skipping the mandatory minicamp and not showing up for the Seahawks' first practice.

While Thomas' teammates seemed to understand what he is doing, coach Pete Carroll seemed less than thrilled to be facing another prolonged holdout.

"We always expected him to be here. That's kind of how it is. He should be here and he's not," Carroll said. "It's really about the guys that are here and we're going to keep moving and grooving and putting it together. It's unfortunate."

If this feels familiar, it's because the Seahawks went down this road before the start of the 2015 season with safety Kam Chancellor. Chancellor unexpectedly decided to hold out as he also sought a new contract even with three years remaining on his deal. Seattle never budged from its position, causing a contrite Chancellor to finally report after the second week of the regular season.

Chancellor eventually got a new contract before the 2017 season.

Thomas may not be as fortunate Kevin Hogan Jersey Redskins , especially considering some of his antics late last season indicating he wanted out of Seattle, and one social media post in particular where he asked the Seahawks to trade him if he wasn't getting a new contract.

"We're expecting him back. He's under contract," Carroll said.

Seattle's training camp start had a surreal feeling. Carroll was still running around in charge, while Russell Wilson was leading the offense and Bobby Wagner, the defense.

But so many of the familiar faces that defined Seattle's roster for the past half-decade were gone. Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett and Jimmy Graham all have new addresses. Chancellor is unlikely to play again due to a neck injury and had to be placed on the reserve/PUP list Thursday as a procedural move due to his contract. Cliff Avril, another standout in recent seasons Brett Gardner Jersey , was on the sideline as a sports talk radio co-host with his own neck injury clouding his chances of ever playing again.

Hanging over it all is uncertainty about Thomas, the last player still on Seattle's roster from the first draft class under Carroll and general manager John Schneider.

Bradley McDougald and Tedric Thompson were both getting time at free safety with Thomas absent. McDougald is expected to be the replacement for Chancellor at strong safety, but has played both safety positions in the past. Thompson is entering his second season after being a fourth-round pick out of Colorado a year ago.

"Right now we can't focus on him. He's not here. He has our support but we've got to focus on who is here and make sure those guys get right and make sure we're doing everything we can for the guys that are here," Wagner said. "I've voiced my support. I understand this is a tough business. Like I said before, it's not a business that is necessarily in favor of the players ... but we've got to focus on what we've got right now."

NOTES: Seattle has injury concerns on the defensive line from the start. DE Dion Jordan has an undisclosed injury and is starting camp on the physically unable to perform list after a career that's been filled with knee issues. DE Frank Clark had surgery on his wrist over the summer and will be limited at the start of camp. Defensive line is one of the big questions for Seattle after losing Avril, Bennett and Sheldon Richardson in the offseason. ... TE Ed Dickson is starting camp on the non-football injury list due to a groin injury suffered during his offseason workouts, Carroll said. ... Seattle released DL Malik McDowell and CB DeAndre Elliott. McDowell Baker Mayfield Jersey Youth , a 2017 second-round pick, never played a down for the team following an ATV accident. McDowell was released with a non-football injury designation, while Elliott failed his physical. ... Seattle claimed TE Kyle Carter off waivers from the New York Giants.

Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson will be honored with the NBA’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the NBA Awards on June 25.

Robertson, the career leader with 181 triple-doubles and the first player to average one for a season, was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 1961, MVP in 1964 and won a championship with Milwaukee in 1971. The guard was a nine-time selection to the All-NBA first team and was voted one of the league’s 50 greatest players.

He also was co-captain of the 1960 U.S. team that won an Olympic gold medal and led Crispus Attucks High School to consecutive Indiana state championships, the first all African-American team in the nation to win a state title.

Robertson also was president of the National Basketball Players Association from 1965-74 Cheap Mark Walton Jersey , and the settlement of his anti-trust lawsuit against the NBA – known as the Oscar Robertson Rule – ushered in free agency in the league.

Bill Russell won the award last year in the first season of the awards show, which will be held in Santa Monica, California and be televised by TNT. The winner of the NBA’s MVP and other individual awards will be presented.

Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin Cheap Ian Thomas Jersey , who has struggled with mental health issues after a 2013 bullying scandal that shook the NFL, was questioned by Los Angeles police after a threatening Instagram post on his account mentioned two former teammates who had harassed him.

Martin was detained by investigators after the post showed a shotgun and referred by name to the private Harvard-Westlake prep school in Los Angeles that he once attended but was not under arrest Friday evening, police spokesman Josh Rubenstein said.

The post also included mentions of the Instagram usernames of former Miami Dolphins players Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey and said suicide and revenge were the only options for a victim of bullying.

The Harvard-Westlake prep school was evacuated earlier Friday after officials were made aware of the post. It was not immediately clear whether Martin posted the photo himself.

Martin left the Miami Dolphins midseason in 2013 after accusing teammates of bullying. An NFL investigation found that Incognito, Pouncey and teammate John Jerry engaged in persistent harassment directed at Martin.

Incognito was suspended for the final eight games and sat out the 2014 season before joining the Buffalo Bills.

The NFL’s investigation also found that teammates threatened to rape Martin’s sister, called him a long list of slurs and bullied him for not being ”black enough.” Martin is black and Incognito is white.

Martin, who underwent counseling for emotional issues after the bullying scandal Youth Cleveland Browns Jerseys , posted on Facebook in 2015 that difficulties in football led him to attempt suicide multiple times.

Martin, the son of two Harvard graduates, attended Stanford University. After he left the Dolphins, Martin played for the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers. He left the NFL in 2015.

Representatives for the Miami Dolphins and the NFL declined to comment and referred questions to Los Angeles police.

The Carolina Panthers are being sold for an NFL-record $2.2 billion.

Hedge fund manager David Tepper has agreed to buy the Panthers from team founder Jerry Richardson, two people familiar with the situation said Tuesday. The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the sale.

The purchase is subject to a vote at the NFL owners meeting next week in Atlanta.

Richardson announced in December he was selling the team amid an NFL investigation into sexual and racial misconduct in the workplace. That decision came after a report by Sports Illustrated detailing Richardson's alleged misconduct.

The league's investigation into the allegations is still ongoing.

The price tag is the most ever paid for an NFL franchise, eclipsing the $1.4 billion the Pegula family paid to purchase the Buffalo Bills in 2014.

Ben Navarro Geron Christian Color Rush Jersey , the founder and CEO of Sherman Financial Group, was considered Tepper's biggest competitor in the bid to purchase the Panthers. He conceded Tuesday that he'd lost the bid.

"My family and I are grateful to have had the opportunity to be included as a potential buyer of one of the premier assets in all of the Carolinas 鈥?the Panthers football team," Navarro said in an email to The Associated Press. "It would have been a privilege to become the stewards of this iconic franchise to ensure its home remains in the Carolinas where it belongs, to establish a new era of leadership and excellence on and off the field, and to leverage the team's NFL platform to further our quest to help all children gain access to a great education."

Tepper's plans on whether the team will remain in Charlotte for the long-term future remain unclear.

The Panthers are tied to their downtown stadium through the 2018 season because of an agreement with the city. After that a new owner is free to extend the lease to the stadium, build a new stadium or possibly move the team.

Moving the Panthers out of Charlotte would seem to a longshot.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he would prefer to keep the team in Charlotte where it has been successful. The Panthers have been one of the NFL's best supported teams with only two non-sellout games since the team began playing its home games in Charlotte in 1996.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh Cheap Derrius Guice Jersey , Tepper, 60, is a part owner of the Steelers and founder and president of Appaloosa Management, a global hedge fund based in Miami.

Because he holds a 5 percent stake in the Steelers, Tepper's finances already have been vetted by the league, meaning it wouldn't take much for NFL owners to approve the sale. However http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-hayden-hurst-jersey , Tepper would have to sell his minority ownership stake of the Steelers, per league rules.

Forbes listed Tepper's net worth at $11.4 billion in February 2017.

Tepper is known for his philanthropy.

He donated $55 million to Carnegie Mellon University's business school in 2013. Tepper graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon, where the Tepper School of Business is named after him.

Richardson was the first and only majority of the Panthers. He became only the first former player since George Halas to become an NFL owner when he was awarded an expansion franchise in 1993. Richardson promised fans at the time the Panthers would win a Super Bowl "within 10 years." Carolina has reached the Super Bowl twice, including in 2015, but has never won.

New exhibit at 9/11 Memorial & Museum highlights impact of sports after 2001 attacks

By MELISSA MURPHY

AP Sports Writer

NEW YORK (AP) – A new exhibit at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum highlights the impact of sports after the 2001 attacks, including the Mets’ win in New York’s first major sporting event after 9/11.

”Comeback Season: Sports After 9/11” explores how sports helped unite the country and features interviews with athletes such as Hall of Fame catcher Mike Piazza.

”In that first game back, the home team came back and won,” said Piazza, whose two-run homer for the Mets in the eighth inning on Sept. 21, 2001, lifted the team past Atlanta. ”That’s exactly the lesson the city, the country and the world needed to see that night.”

Carol Gies attended that game with her three sons and celebrated the moment in the stands. Her firefighter husband, Lt. Ronnie Gies, died in the attacks on the World Trade Center.

”When that ball went over the wall, I saw my children smile for the very first time since they lost their dad,” she said in an oral history recording.

The exhibit covers various sports Carlton Davis Jersey Buccaneers , including football, hockey, basketball, soccer, NASCAR, the New York City Marathon and the 2002 Winter Olympics. The story is told in nine chapters, using archival sports footage and testimonies from athletes, coaches and 9/11 families.

It opens with the U.S. Open final of Venus vs. Serena Williams on the weekend before the attacks. It moves through the cancellation of events, including the first stoppage of Major League Baseball since the death of President Franklin Roosevelt in 1945.

The Mets’ and Giants‘ stadiums were used as recovery and supply sites after the attacks. Piazza’s jersey, his batting helmet with ”NYPD” taped on the back and John Franco’s FDNY hat are on display.

So is Pat Tillman’s Army Ranger uniform, on loan from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Tillman, an Arizona Cardinal player http://www.eaglesauthorizedshops.com/authentic-markus-wheaton-jersey , enlisted after 9/11 and died in Afghanistan.

New York Rangers Mike Richter, Eric Lindros and Mark Messier are pictured during a visit to thank rescue workers at ground zero on Sept. 16.

There’s a quote from Mets manager Bobby Valentine: ”When we went down there the first time, you could still smell it. You could still feel it. You could see the filth on the faces of the workers. When they saw us, their faces lit up. You could see their teeth through their black masks.”

A letter from 10-year-old Brielle Saracini to Derek Jeter dated Sept. 14 is on display. She explains to her favorite player that her father, Victor Saracini, was a pilot of hijacked Flight 175 that crashed into the south tower. Soon after, Jeter called to invite Brielle, her sister and mother to a game.

In the World Series, the Yankees hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks among heightened security for Games 3, 4, 5 at Yankee Stadium, just 14 miles from ground zero. Video shows Jeter hitting a walk-off home run in Game 4 and jumping into the arms of teammates at home plate.

Michael Jordan is pictured with members of the military before a Washington Wizards vs. Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 30. Jordan had pledged his entire year’s salary to the 9/11 relief effort.

”Through the lens of sports Harold Landry Color Rush Jersey , this exhibition celebrates the strength of the human spirit and our capacity to come together and support one another through unimaginable grief,” 9/11 Memorial & Museum President Alice M. Greenwald said. ”This story provides additional points of entry into the complex story of 9/11 to better understand our history and the impact it had on our world today, to reflect on our own lived memories from that time and to feel inspired by stories about the best of humanity.”

The exhibit was sponsored in part through the support of the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, MLB, the New York Mets and their chief operating officer, Jeff Wilpon. It runs through the summer of 2019.

Former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant has been available on the free agent market for nearly four months, but we know one superstar who would love to have the three-time Pro Bowler on his team.Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Antonio Brown took to Twitter and suggested that Bryant join him in the Steel City.Come play with me @DezBryant let鈥檚 get the chip..........Eat Greedy......Big plates.......— Antonio Brown (@AB84) July 29, 2018Bryant was released by the Cowboys in April after eight seasons with the team, and he's somehow remained unsigned ever since. Though he turns 30 in November and has been slowed down by injuries over the last three seasons, Bryant can produce big numbers, and he'd certainly fit with the Steelers. The Steelers own the best offensive trio in the NFL, led by Brown Rashaad Penny Youth Jersey , future Hall of Famer quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and the game's top running back in Le'Veon Bell. Throw in the emergence of speedy receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, and the Steelers offense is loaded with talent.Pittsburgh doesn't necessarily need Bryant, but it wouldn't hurt to add a red zone threat to their offense. At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Bryant is difficult to cover for most cornerbacks, and he'd be an excellent complement to both Brown and Smith-Schuster.Bryant has also been linked to the San Francisco 49ers, who could use more pass-catching help to complement quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. But thus far, the 49ers have yet to show they're anywhere close to pondering the idea of signing Bryant. Pre-season isn't far away, and some NFL teams will get desperate enough to the point where they'll start calling Bryant. He may not quite be your 1,000-yard receiver anymore, but Bryant showed in both 2016 and '17 that there is lots of football left in him. It'd be quite the duo of Brown and Bryant if the Steelers opted to go down that path. We know No. 84 wants it to happen, but it remains to be seen if the front office feels the same way..
Marco Gonzales was looking for some retribution against the Kansas City Royals.

Gonzales (8-5) pitched a six-hitter for his first career complete game in the Seattle Mariners‘ 4-1 victory on Friday. The left-hander struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk while throwing just 96 pitches.

”My last outing against these guys didn’t go great – my second start of the year Cheap Taven Bryan Jersey , I think – so I was looking for some payback, too. So I was a little more amped than usual,” Gonzales said.

Mitch Haniger and Mike Zunino homered for Seattle.

Gonzales had been chased after just 2 1/3 innings of what became a 10-0 loss on April 9, but Friday’s start was much different. Gonzalez, who’d never taken a game into the eighth inning until going 7 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay earlier this month Tony Romo Jersey , didn’t need more than 13 pitches to finish any inning against the Royals.

”He has a lot of confidence right now because everything that’s happened to him this year, he’s earned,” Mariners manager Scott Servais said.

Whit Merrifield singled to lead off the game and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Rosell Herrera. Gonzales picked Merrifield off second base to erase the baserunner and would retire nine straight batters before running into a spot of trouble in the fourth.

Herrera doubled off the glove of left fielder Denard Span with one out. An infield single from Mike Moustakas put runners on the corners, but Gonzales induced an inning-ending double play from Salvador Perez to keep the Royals off the board.

”The way that we’ve been playing and the fun that we’ve been having, I can’t wait for my fifth day to come Authentic Jason Sanders Jersey ,” Gonzales said. ”To be able to go out there and contribute in a positive way and have these guys rally behind you is pretty incredible.”

Royals starter Ian Kennedy (1-8) retired the first 10 batters he faced before running into trouble in the fourth. Jean Segura reached on an infield single to give Seattle its first baserunner of the game. Haniger followed with a two-run blast over the center-field wall to give the Mariners a 2-0 lead.

After fouling off three straight pitches with a 2-2 count, Zunino blasted a solo home run two rows from the top of the upper deck in left field to extend the Mariners’ lead to 3-0 in the fifth.

Kennedy left after five innings due to tightness in his left side that surfaced on the last pitch to Zunino.

”I felt it grab,” Kennedy said. ”And then the rest of the inning it stayed tight. The last couple pitches I was compensating for it, so I knew … the right thing to do is to say something.”

Segura added a two-out RBI single in the seventh inning off Brandon Maurer to give Seattle a 4-0 advantage.

Adalberto Mondesi doubled to open the ninth and Moustakas delivered a two-out single to center field to drive home the only run of the game for the Royals.

BONIFACIO RETURNS

Outfielder Jorge Bonifacio was recalled and back in the lineup for the Royals on Friday after completing an 80-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Bonifacio was suspended in March after testing positive for Boldenone, which is an anabolic androgenic steroid. Bonifacio started the game in left field and went 0 for 3 with a strikeout. He hit .255 with 17 home runs and 40 RBIs in 113 games as a rookie in 2017. OF Ryan Goins was designated for assignment on Thursday to clear a roster spot. ”It was a tough time down there in Arizona. But I learned from it. It’s never going to happen again Authentic Will Hernandez Jersey ,” Bonifacio said.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Royals: C Perez was back in the lineup after exiting Wednesday’s game in Milwaukee in the ninth inning after taking a foul ball off his right leg.

Mariners: 3B Kyle Seager was back in the lineup after making only a pinch-hit appearance in Baltimore on Sunday. Seager has an ”avulsion fracture” in his big toe and was given the day off in the field to rest. It’s not expected to require a disabled list stint and Seager is planning to play through the injury.

Mariners: RHP Felix Hernandez (7-6) will take the hill for the 18th time this season as he looks to continue a run of strong starts. After a rough first two months of the season, Hernandez has allowed just one earned run in three of his five starts in June.
