Police and prosecutors in Georgia say they're reviewing the arrest of a former football player whose lawyers say officers used excessive force.

Video circulated online last week of the Dec. 2 arrest of Desmond Marrow in a shopping center parking lot in McDonough Baltimore Ravens Jerseys Womens , just south of Atlanta. Marrow, 30, is a former college football player who tried to catch on with two NFL teams.

In the one-minute video clip, officers can be seen forcefully taking a handcuffed Marrow to the ground by sweeping his legs out from under him as he yells, "I'm not even fighting back." When he's on the ground, an officer puts his hand on Marrow's throat for several seconds and Marrow says, "I can't breathe," while another officer tells him to settle down.

Chris Stewart, an attorney for Marrow, said it's clear from the video that Marrow wasn't resisting and the officers used excessive force. The officers should be fired and the charges against Marrow should be dropped, Stewart said.

Robbie Swinson, who witnessed Marrow's arrest, said in a phone interview Monday that the video "speaks for itself, and it shows excessive force" because Marrow was already cuffed. But he said it only shows a tiny slice of a long encounter and that Marrow aggressively chased another vehicle down the road and in the parking lot, talked about shooting people and then scuffled with police as they tried to handcuff him.

Although a use of force review was done at the time of the arrest http://www.cardinalsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-josh-rosen-jersey , Henry County police Chief Mark Amerman earlier in April ordered an internal affairs investigation, department spokesman Capt. Joey Smith said in an email Friday. One of the officers was placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation, he said.

"The Henry County Police Department takes any charges of excessive use of force very seriously and wants to assure the public that this event will be fully investigated," Smith said.

Henry County District Attorney Darius Pattillo said in an emailed statement Friday that his office is conducting a parallel investigation to determine whether the use of force was justified. That is being done by a review panel that includes Pattillo, his chief investigator, another veteran prosecutor and a use of force expert.

"The portion of the video distributed is graphic and violent, and we understand why people are disturbed by this," Pattillo said. "I can assure you that once the investigation is complete, we will respond appropriately."

His office is also examining the charges against Marrow, including felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, misdemeanor reckless driving and misdemeanor aggressive driving.

Marrow told The Associated Press in an interview Friday that he was driving along when two white men pulled up next to him and started yelling racial slurs and threw a cup of coffee at him. He stayed calm but drove fast to follow them and get their license plate number and followed them into the parking lot to talk to them, he said.

One of the men listed on the police report as a victim disputes that. Scott Davis told the AP by phone Monday that Marrow began aggressively riding his bumper, cursed at him and his friend, threw a rock at their car and yelled that he had a loaded gun and would shoot them.

At one point, Marrow pulled in front of them and tried to block them and appeared to be getting out of his truck Da'Ron Payne Jersey , so Davis threw a can of Coke to slow him down so they could get away, Davis said. Marrow then followed them into the shopping center parking lot and chased them "driving like a madman" as Davis called 911, Davis said.

Swinson saw Marrow chasing a car along the road and then saw him continue to chase the car through the parking lot, he said. Worried that one of them would hit someone in the parking lot, Swinson said he tried to get between the two cars to stop them.

He blocked Marrow, who got out of the car complaining that the men in the other car had thrown some liquid at his car and hollering that he had a gun, Swinson said.

Police found no weapons when they searched Marrow and decided to arrest him after speaking to the alleged victims and witnesses who said they had seen Marrow aggressively chasing another vehicle and making threats, a police report says.

Marrow played football at the University of Toledo in Ohio but wasn't drafted out of college. He signed a contract in 2012 with the Houston Texans but was cut during preseason. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked him up but he didn't make the team.

Jed Lowrie and Khris Davis gave the Athletics an opportunity for another come-from-behind win. Stephen Piscotty completed the job.

Piscotty belted a go-ahead, two-run homer in the 11th inning as Oakland rallied for a 6-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday afternoon.

It was the Athletics’ 22nd comeback win of the season, six of them occurring in extra innings. The Indians carried a 3-0 lead into the eighth before reliever Neil Ramirez gave up back-to-back home runs to Lowrie — a two-run blast — and Davis to tie it.

”You can’t sleep on our offense because we can vaporize the lead really quick,” Piscotty said. ”We know that and that’s why we keep grinding and keep playing.”

Matt Chapman, who had a career-high four hits and stole his first base in the majors, scored later in the frame on Jonathan Lucroy’s grounder to make a winner out of A’s closer Blake Treinen (5-1).

Nine of Oakland’s last 19 victories have occurred via runs in the eighth inning or later, including its last two. The A’s scored twice in the eighth Wednesday to beat San Diego 4-2.

”Just knowing that we’re not out of the game, no matter how late it is Adidas Pekka Rinne Jersey , definitely builds confidence,” said Davis, who has a team-high 21 homers. ”We’ll just keep learning from them and hold onto the momentum.”

Cleveland had its home winning streak snapped at eight and fell to 1-6 in extra-inning contests. Josh Tomlin (0-5), the Indians’ sixth pitcher, allowed all three runs after entering to start the 11th.

Right-hander Corey Kluber tossed seven shutout innings, but was denied in his bid to become the first Indians pitcher with 13 wins before the All-Star break since Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry had 15 in 1974.

The two-time AL Cy Young winner allowed only one runner to reach third base, scattering five hits and striking out three before exiting after 102 pitches. Kluber is 7-1 with a 1.43 ERA at Progressive Field this season.

”Even though we didn’t beat him, to get a win with a guy like Kluber on the mound to start, that might be worth two for us,” Lowrie said. ”It never seems like we’re out of a game.”

Oakland righty Edwin Jackson went 5 2/3 innings in his third big league start of the year, allowing single runs in the first, second and sixth. Ryan Buchter, Lou Trevino and Treinen combined to blank Cleveland the rest of the way.

Ramirez hadn’t allowed a run in his previous 17 appearances, but manager Terry Francona didn’t second-guess his decision to pull his ace.

”Corey is such a good pitcher and he’s smart, and he gave us seven really good innings Quenton Nelson Jersey ,” Francona said. ”We lean on him so hard, I thought we’d go to Neil. And it didn’t work. Neil has been good, but today, not so much.”

Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor scored his major league-leading 79th run and had an RBI, while Greg Allen doubled home Yan Gomes. Lindor committed the error that scored Chapman with the game’s final run.

CHESS GAME

The Indians played the final three innings without a designated hitter after Francona made a flurry of strategic moves that forced RHP Zach McAllister into the batting order. The former Phillies skipper also pulled off a rare AL double-switch in the 11th to avoid having Tomlin bat.

”We didn’t want to play a National League game for obvious reasons,” Francona said. ”I didn’t want to do it, but I thought that was our best way to win.”

TRAINER’S ROOM

Athletics: OF Matt Joyce (lumbar strain) was placed on the 10-day disabled list. He missed 15 games in June with the same ailment. OF Nick Martini was recalled from Triple-A Nashville, where he has a 65-game on-base streak.

Indians: OF Lonnie Chisenhall (left calf strain), who was hurt Monday in Kansas City, will travel to Washington for a second opinion on his oft-injured lower legs. This marks his third DL stint with calf problems in a calendar year.

UP NEXT

Athletics LHP Brett Anderson (0-2, 7.63 ERA) will be activated to face Indians RHP Shane Bieber (4-0, 2.97 ERA) in the three-game series finale. Anderson has not pitched for Oakland since May 18 because of a strained right shoulder.

A throwing error by Adam Eaton on Bradley’s sacrifice fly and a wild pitch by Ryan Madson (2-4) in the seventh inning contributed to Washington’s 17th loss in 22 games.

An arrest warrant was issued for New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson after he failed to appear for a court date in Florida.

According to Broward County court records http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-rasheem-green-jersey , Anderson was due Tuesday morning for his arraignment stemming from a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving in January. Bond was set at $500 for Anderson.

Ed O'Donnell, Anderson's Florida-based attorney, did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press seeking comment Wednesday night. According to several published reports, O'Donnell said he was never notified of a court date and planned to try to resolve the issue Thursday.

The charge stems from an incident in Sunrise, Florida http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-brandon-parker-jersey , on Jan. 19 when Anderson was charged on nine counts. The original felony charge of fleeing and eluding police with lights and sirens active was reduced on April 7 to misdemeanor reckless driving 鈥?for which Anderson was due in court Tuesday, according to court records. A felony charge of threatening a public servant or family member had been dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

This is the latest legal trouble for Anderson, who was arrested last May at a Miami music festival and charged with felony resisting an officer with violence. Anderson's trial for that case is scheduled to begin on Aug. 6, in the middle of training camp for the Jets.

The league was investigating both incidents, and Anderson could face punishment from the NFL under its conduct policy.

Anderson set career highs with 63 catches Youth Denzel Ward Jersey , 941 yards receiving and seven touchdowns in his second NFL season. He was a bright spot in the team's 5-11 season and appeared on his way to a 1,000-yard campaign until starting quarterback Josh McCown went down with a broken left hand in Week 14.

Houston Texans safety Andre Hal has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma and insists he "will beat it."

He received the preliminary diagnosis of cancer of the blood cells from team physician Dr. James Muntz and has consulted with doctors at Houston's MD Anderson Cancer Center, the team said Friday.

The Texans added that Hal is "undergo testing and evaluation and is discussing his treatment options."

Hal is 26 and starting his fifth year with the Texans. He was drafted by Houston in 2014 out of Vanderbilt. He started all 16 games last season and had three interceptions.

"My faith in God and the support from my family, friends, teammates and coaches will see me through this difficult time Christian Kirk Jersey Cardinals ," Hal said in a statement released through the team. The San Francisco 49ers will not pick up the contract option on pass rusher Elvis Dumervil.

The team announced the move to part ways with the 34-year-old Dumervil on Friday. The 49ers also said they tendered a one-year contract to exclusive rights free agent running back Raheem Mostert and picked up the 2018 contract option for linebacker Dekoda Watson.

Mostert played 11 games last season and finished with six carries for 30 yards while adding a team-high eight special teams tackles.

Watson had four defensive tackles and six tackles on special teams in 14 games last season.

Jake Butt couldn't help but get a little nostalgic over the simple routine of putting all his pads on again.

Reasonable. It's been a while.

The Denver Broncos tight end returned to the field in full gear Tuesday for the first time since tearing his right ACL against Florida State in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 49ers Jonathan Cooper Jersey , 2016.

"I kind of thought about it when I put on the pants. It was like, 'Man, I haven't put on the pads in almost two years,'" the Michigan standout said. "It was exciting. It felt good out there."

Next order of business: Jerseys .

Butt and his family don't mind having a little fun with their last name. And now that he's fully healthy, those No. 80 uniforms will be going fast 鈥?taken by his clan and completely customized (his father had "Papa Butt " on his jersey when Jake was at Michigan).

"We're ordering in bulk," Butt said. "We're building the 'Butt Army' out here, for sure."

It was on hold last season as the 23-year-old recovered from the knee injury that caused him to slip to the fifth round of the 2017 draft. The Broncos were hopeful to have him back for the second half last season Marcus Davenport Jersey Elite , but he wasn't ready and went on injured reserve.

Butt declared Tuesday his knee feels "100 percent" again. He wasn't wearing a protective brace when the team donned full pads.

He could be a big boost to the tight end corps. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Butt won the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end his senior season at Michigan. He had three catches for 28 yards against Florida State in the Orange Bowl before tearing his knee.

His recovery has been somewhat slower than he anticipated. The rehab has been filled with plenty of ups and downs.

"It's not just you're getting better and better every day. You have some days that are better than others," said Butt, who had 138 catches for 1,646 yards while with the Wolverines. "In that sense, you have a mental component. But once you're on the field, for me personally Jaire Alexander Jersey Packers , you're playing football. You're not thinking about any bumps and bruises you might have."

He used the down time in 2017 memorizing his routes and reads. He's putting it to good use now.

"I had a year to observe how pro football really works," Butt said. "Going back to the spring, I really got into the playbook so I can hit the ground running in camp."

Butt has plenty of competition in camp among a tight end group that's got deep Big Ten Conference roots. There's rookie Troy Fumagalli, a fifth-round pick out of Wisconsin. There's also Jeff Heuerman, a third-round pick in 2015 from Ohio State who's currently sidelined by a balky knee. Not to be left out: Matt LaCosse attended Illinois, and Austin Traylor went to Wisconsin.

Fumagalli has an easy explanation for the league's representation.

"Well-rounded," he said. "I can't speak for all of the Big Ten http://www.raidersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-nick-nelson-jersey , but a lot of the schools they expect you to be a pass catcher, a pass blocker and a run blocker. They expect you to be well-rounded."

Butt's hoping to display that throughout camp.

"You know you can't come in and take a day off because that next guy up is hungry," Butt said. "Everyone in our room is making plays and doing a great job. That's going to help us in the long run."

He's already developing a solid rapport with quarterback Case Keenum.

Then again, Butt said that's not difficult.

"Case is doing a great job connecting with a lot of guys out there," Butt said. "That's the advantage of having a veteran quarterback. He understands where to go with the ball, where to put the ball, what reads to make. We're trying to take advantage of that."

Already the owner of two American League Most Valuable Player awards by age 25 Bears Authentic Jerseys , Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout is showing there’s always room for improvement.

Trout is having the best offensive month of his major-league career heading into the second game of a four-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.

The Angels (40-35) won the series opener 8-5 on Thursday night at Angel Stadium, getting two home runs from Luis Valbuena and another from Kole Calhoun for the second straight game.

Trout went 0-for-2 but drew three walks and scored two runs against the Blue Jays (34-40).

Trout is hitting .433 in June with five home runs and 12 RBIs. His on-base percentage rose to .471 for the season.

Trout’s previous best batting average for a month was .392 in July of 2012, his first full season in the majors. He also had 10 home runs and 23 RBIs during that stretch.

A big difference in Trout’s game this season has been his walk-to-strikeout ratio. He had 12 walks and 21 strikeouts in July 2012 but has 17 walks and 13 strikeouts so far this month.

“I’m just trying to look for my pitch, and if it’s not there, I’m just taking my walks,” Trout told reporters earlier this week. “For me, if I try to expand the strike zone, that’s when I get in trouble.”

Trout has also done well in his career against Toronto’s scheduled starter on Friday night, Marco Estrada. Trout is 4-for-10 with two home runs off the right-hander.

Estrada (4-6, 4.66 ERA) will try to stay on a roll after winning his past two starts. He went eight consecutive outings without earning a win before this latest stretch.

His last start may have been his best of the season. He threw 6 2/3 shutout innings in a 2-0 win on Saturday against the visiting Washington Nationals Customized Houston Texans Jerseys , out-dueling right-hander Max Scherzer, who leads the National League with 10 wins.

Estrada faced the visiting Angels during his winless stretch four weeks ago and surrendered four runs and seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Toronto went on to lose 8-1.

Estrada is 1-2 in his career against the Angels with a 6.95 ERA, his highest against any AL team.

Angels first baseman Albert Pujols is 4-for-10 in his career against Estrada, and shortstop Andrelton Simmons is 6-for-12.

“For four years now, every single day, when Marco Estrada’s time comes around, he gives all he has,” Toronto second baseman Devon Travis told Sportsnet after the win against the Nationals last weekend.

Angels starter Andrew Heaney was matched against Estrada in his only career appearance against the Blue Jays and it didn’t go well for the left-hander. He gave up eight runs in 3 1/3 innings of the 15-3 loss in Anaheim on Aug. 22, 2015.

Heaney (3-5, 3.64) was in line to win his last outing after allowing three runs and three hits in eight innings against the Oakland A’s on Sunday Customized Seattle Seahawks Jerseys , but the bullpen gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth before Oakland won in the 11th.

Even with temperatures in the mid-80s for the opening day of the Falcons rookie minicamp, wide receiver Calvin Ridley wore long sleeves under his red No. 18 jersey.

He just couldn't resist.

It's a freedom that was never allowed for skill position players in Ridley's college career under Alabama coach Nick Saban.

"Oh man, I didn't get to wear this in college so I had to do it," Ridley said. "Coach really didn't like us to wear long sleeves and I had to do it. I had to try."

As an NFL first-round draft pick , Ridley was enjoying some new-found flexibility during his first practice as a professional.

"I can have my shirt out a little bit," he said, holding the bottom of his jersey. "I don't have to tuck my shirt in."

Long sleeves? Shirt untucked?

Sorry coach Saban, but there's more.

At times on Friday, Ridley even took off his helmet.

"It's a little different to take my helmet off all the time," Ridley said Paul Worrilow Color Rush Jersey , smiling while recalling his days under Saban's strict watch. "A little more freedom. It's cool, though."

Ridley may have felt like a rebel while catching passes in his first Falcons practice, but soon his old college rules will become a distant memory. The young wide receiver may quickly shed the long sleeves when the full Falcons roster is together for mandatory minicamp in June and training camp in July.

Besides, there are more important matters in Ridley's mind. He must learn the Falcons playbook as he tries to prove he can join veteran receivers Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu as another top target for quarterback Matt Ryan .

On Friday, Ridley may have been too eager to show he can meet expectations that come with being a first-round draft pick.

Ridley acknowledged he was "just very excited" and may have tried to move too fast while running plays with other draft picks and 27 undrafted rookies participating in the camp.

On the first play following a water break, Ridley ran a crossing route over the middle and had the ball fall to the ground off his hands. He appeared to turn up field before securing the ball.

"I want to play fast and I've got to slow it down a little bit to learn better and get comfortable, and I'm going to be fine," he said.

Coach Dan Quinn said it's a common first-day scenario for rookies.

"Like most of the guys, they want to do right so well, they want more reps Orlando Brown Jr. Jersey Elite , more turns to get rolling," Quinn said. "It's a good lesson. Stay in the moment of this play. That's not uncommon for any of them."

The Falcons expect Ridley to make an immediate impact as another playmaker on an offense that suffered a decline in 2017 after leading the NFL in scoring in 2016. He finished his college career ranked second on the Alabama records, behind Amari Cooper, for catches and TD catches.

Ridley is the only unsigned player among Atlanta's six draft picks. He said he is leaving the contract negotiations to his agents.

"I'm just letting my people work," he said. "... I'm worried about football."

NOTES: Russell Gage, one of two sixth-round picks , was listed as a wide receiver in the NFL draft, but he worked at cornerback on Friday. "Just to make sure where we're going to put him," Quinn said. Gage played both positions at LSU and will move back to offense when the minicamp continues on Saturday. Quinn said he may work other players at more than one position.

Vontaze Burfict is appealing a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating its policy on performance-enhancing substances Youth Brian O'Neill Jersey , the third straight season that the Cincinnati Bengals linebacker is facing punishment from the league.

The suspension was first reported by ESPN. The Bengals had no comment on Burfict. They signed free agent linebacker Preston Brown to a one-year contract Friday, giving them depth at the position.

The Bengals have steadfastly supported Burfict, even giving him a three-year contract extension while he was suspended last year. They’ve had plenty of chances to get accustomed to playing without him.

He missed the first six games of the 2015 season while recovering from knee surgery. He played a key role in the Bengals’ playoff meltdown against the Steelers that season, hitting Antonio Brown in the head after an incompletion. The penalty moved Pittsburgh into range for a winning goal in the closing seconds.

The NFL responded by suspending Burfict for the first three games of the 2016 season, citing his history of egregious hits. He got another three-game suspension to start last season after an egregious hit on Kansas City running back Anthony Sherman during a preseason game.

Burfict also was ejected last season during a game at Tennessee for contact with an official, drawing a fine but no suspension for that infraction.

Unless he wins his appeal, the Bengals will have to plan to do without him in September again.

By signing Brown on Friday, they gave themselves another experienced linebacker to help out.

Brown has started 62 games for the Bills, who took him in the third round from Louisville in 2014. He’d made 58 straight starts for Buffalo.

The Bengals also have tried to upgrade their offense by adding a player from Buffalo. They got tackle Cordy Glenn in a deal this week that involved swapping first-round draft picks. The Bills moved up nine spots to the No. 12 selection. The Bengals got Buffalo’s pick at 21st overall.

BOSTON — Jon Cooper was asked after Game 3 what his team has done to turn around its series with the Boston Bruins.

“These guys, they just find a way Michael Brantley Jersey ,” the Tampa Bay coach said after a 4-1 road victory gave the Lightning a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal. “I guess in the end, they’re putting the team first, putting the team before self. That’s what’s going on right now.”

The Lightning, who captured the Atlantic Division and overall conference record by a point over the Bruins in the final days of the regular season, surrendered home-ice advantage with a 6-2 loss in the opener. But Wednesday night, they grabbed it back and can now establish a stranglehold on the series with a win in Game 4 on Friday night.

Wednesday was the 55th time the franchise played at TD Garden — and became just its 10th win. But that historical stat seems to mean nothing to this team, which is now 6-2 in the playoffs.

“I think the same thing we did the game before and what I felt a lot of the game before that,” Cooper said of the Game 3 performance. “We’re in a playoff series and we’re playing like that. We’re skating. We’re physically engaged. They’re just playing responsible. That’s what they’re doing.”

Ondrej Palat, who scored twice in the first 3:19 of the game, was not on the ice for practice at the Bruins’ practice facility Thursday Courtland Sutton Jersey Broncos , but there was no report. Ryan Callahan, who has played such a strong two-way game in the series, took Palat’s spot on the power play in practice.

Palat’s early outburst marked the fastest two goals by the same player at the start of a playoff game since 1996.

Boston’s Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk rested on “maintenance days” Thursday and are apparently not totally healthy. Coach Bruce Cassidy said they will be evaluated Friday morning.

There was also a very good chance that rookie Ryan Donato could be among those added to the mix as Cassidy looks to “tinker” with his lineup.

“They were maintenance days, so we’ll see how they are in the morning. I assume they’ll be fine tomorrow (for Game 4), but we’ll see then,” Cassidy said. “We’ll assess them in the morning, and we’ll probably tinker (with the lineup), but I’m not going to tell you who is going in or out now because we’ve got to get the healthy guys sorted out first, and then we’ll go from there.”

After Wednesday’s game, the coach said Cheap Uchenna Nwosu Jersey , “We need to defend better, and part of that is intensity. My estimation, urgency, pick you word. We didn’t have it. You’ve got to manage the puck first, and then once you don’t have it anymore, you’ve got to have a certain level of structure and urgency to get it back, and we didn’t.

“As the game went along, I think the will is there with the group; I don’t doubt that. They’re trying to be physical; they’re trying to play hard, but at the end of the day we made some mistakes in front of our net.

“We’ve got to get back to, OK Sam Darnold Jets Jersey , what made us successful and play smart hockey, and the intensity will come. The group has a lot of will. I think we put one in front of the other, forgot to play a little bit.”

Yanni Gourde became the second Lightning player to enjoy the birth of a child during the playoffs. Gourde’s baby girl was born Tuesday. He made it to Boston in time for the Wednesday morning skate and had an assist in the win.

Steven Stamkos scored his first goal of the series Wednesday. It was into an empty net, but the Lightning have to feel good about their best player and captain hitting the score sheet. It was his second goal in eight playoff games, but he has five assists.

Eagles players and officials made individual decisions to not go to the White House for a scheduled celebration of their Super Bowl title Mike McGlinchey Jersey , leaving two players actually planning to make the trip to Washington before the visit was canceled by President Donald Trump, according to players and a person familiar with the arrangements.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because of the sensitivity of the issues.

All-Pro center Jason Kelce said players filled out forms anonymously indicating whether they wanted to go to the White House, not make the trip or go to Washington and do something else.

"It's a little bit disappointing as a country right now that we're so divided, I think that's the bigger disappointment," said Kelce, who became a folk hero in Philadelphia for an impassioned, profane rally speech he gave after a day of antics during the city's Super Bowl parade.

The players did not urge a collective decision on what to do as a team Cheap Da'Shawn Hand Jersey , giving each player his own option of whether to take the trip.

Defensive end Chris Long, who skipped the trip last year when he was with the New England Patriots and again decided early to not attend, said he hopes athletes on championship teams in all sports won't have to make the decision when Trump's term is up for re-election in 2020.

"The players didn't create this division (in the country)," Long said. "I'm extremely proud to be part of this team."

Safety Malcolm Jenkins, an outspoken leader for social reforms, held up handwritten signs on issues important to him and other players instead of verbally answering questions.

"You aren't listening," one sign said. Another said that former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gave $1 million to charity. Kaepernick began the wave of kneeling protests in the NFL as a way to protest racism and police brutality 49ers Cheap Jerseys , and is working through a grievance case against the league after he was not signed by any team following his run with San Francisco.

Another sign by Jenkins read: "More than 60 percent of people in prison are people of color."

Coach Doug Pederson said before practice that he was looking forward to going to the White House to be recognized as Super Bowl champions but he wouldn't further discuss details of the trip's breakdown. He declined to provide information on how things escalated to the White House accusing players of abandoning their fans by deciding to not attend.

"What you've seen and what you've heard is enough. I'm not discussing it," Pederson said. "The team is great. We're united. Our goal is 2018. It's over. It's behind us. We're moving on."

Trump rescinded his invitation late Monday and instead turned the ceremony for the Eagles on Tuesday into his own brief "Celebration of America" after it became clear most players weren't going to show up. Trump tied the dispute to his criticism of players who have kneeled during the national anthem, even though no Eagles players kneeled for the song during the 2017 season.

Also Wednesday, hockey player Devante Smith-Pelly said he would skip a White House visit if the Washington Capitals win the Stanley Cup. Smith-Pelly, one of two black Capitals players, spoke about Trump to Canada's Postmedia.

"The things that he spews are straight-up racist and sexist," Smith-Pelly said with the Capitals a victory away from their first title. "Some of the things he's said are pretty gross. I'm not too into politics Cheap Natrell Jamerson Jersey , so I don't know all his other views, but his rhetoric I definitely don't agree with. It hasn't come up here, but I think I already have my mind made up."

On Tuesday, NBA stars LeBron James and Curry both said they wouldn't visit.

Eagles Tight end Zach Ertz wore a Team USA soccer jersey while answering questions and said he's "proud to be an American."

"Everyone in this locker room understands that everyone's heart is in the right place," Ertz said. "We weren't going to let someone try and formulate an agenda. What's unique about this locker room is that everyone's treated with respect, people truly care about one another, people respect other people's opinions. We're united."

Long took a shot at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for staying silent on the matter.

"If he doesn't want to stand up for his players Authentic Christian Kirk Jersey , that's not my business," Long said. "I know my teammates are great men. There's men of faith in this locker room. There's men who serve their communities. There's men who have a lot who give back to people with a lot less."

Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews says he needs surgery on his nose after getting hit in the face with a line drive during a charity softball game.

Matthews was pitching during Saturday’s game when offensive lineman Lucas Patrick hit the ball directly into Matthews’ face, knocking him to the ground. The Green Bay Press Gazette reports that Matthews got up, covered his face with his glove, then walked to the dugout. He did not return to the game.

Matthews tweeted later that he busted his nose and would have surgery after the swelling subsides. He thanked fans for their well-wishes and expressed gratitude that his injury wasn’t more serious.

The Packers are in the middle of their organized team activities. Matthews hasn’t participated in OTAs because of a knee injury.

A former Chicago Bears and Ohio State University football player who authorities say was ordered to leave a bar because he was intoxicated and stumbling has been indicted for allegedly slamming an Ohio sheriff's deputy arm with a van door.

Thirty-four-year-old Kirk Barton Cheap Fred Warner Jersey , of Dublin, was indicted Friday in central Ohio's Delaware County on assault and obstructing official business charges. Both are felony charges.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office has said the deputy escorted the 6-foot-6-inch Barton outside the bar to a taxi earlier this month without incident but that Barton couldn't provide his address. While the deputy and taxi driver determined where he lived, Barton allegedly slammed the van's sliding door on the deputy's arm.

Barton's attorney wasn't immediately available for comment Saturday.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Miami Marlins will seek to continue to work their late-game magic against the San Francisco Giants when the teams meet for the second time in a three-game series Tuesday night.

Miguel Rojas capped a three-run rally in the ninth inning Monday, allowing the Marlins to overcome a 4-2 deficit and beat the Giants for the fourth time in five games over the past eight days.

All four wins have come in come-from-behind fashion.

Monday’s thriller could have a carryover effect on the rest of the series as Giants closer Hunter Strickland and Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson, one of the heroes of the ninth-inning rally, exchanged words after the Marlins had taken the lead.

Brinson also had a hand in one of Miami’s rallies last week Cheap DJ Moore Jersey , smacking a game-tying hit off Madison Bumgarner in last Monday’s 7-5 win.

The Giants did not appreciate the way Brinson celebrated the hit, and it was no surprise when Strickland’s first pitch to him in the ninth this time around was under his chin.

But Brinson earned the right to celebrate again, lining a game-tying single to right field off Strickland, then yelling at the Giants? enforcer on his way to first base.

Brinson reached third on Rojas’ tie-breaking hit, after which Strickland was removed from the game, exiting the field toward the third base dugout and within 15 feet of Brinson.

The two then exchanged words again Derrius Guice Redskins Jersey , setting the stage another possible encounter before the end of the series.

It was Strickland’s fourth blown save of the season, but just the Giants first loss this season in a game in which it led going into the ninth inning. They’d been 31-0.

Afterward, Giants manager Bruce Bochy credited for Marlins for once again not going down without a fight.

“We’ve had the lead; we’ve got to finish it,” he said. “They keep themselves in the ballgame. Keep it close and anything can happen.”

Monday’s 5-4 outcome was identical to last week’s 5-4 Marlins win on Wednesday, a game also started by left-handers Caleb Smith of the Marlins and Andrew Suarez of the Giants.

Tuesday’s second game of the series also will feature a pitching rematch, with right-handers Dan Straily (2-2 Kyzir White Jersey Elite , 4.23) of the Marlins and Dereck Rodriguez (1-1, 4.34) of the Giants going head-to-head for the second time in six days.

The Giants prevailed the first time around last Thursday despite blowing an early 3-0 lead. They needed 16 innings to win 6-3.

Rodriguez worked 6 2/3 innings in the win, allowing two runs and seven hits. It was just the third start and fourth big-league appearance of his career.

He’ll take an 0-0 and 2.70 ERA against the Marlins into the game.

Straily, meanwhile, worked five innings in the first meeting, allowing three runs and three hits. Andrew McCutchen and Mac Williamson accounted for the three runs with home runs.

The 29-year-old has never lost to the Giants Authentic Markus Wheaton Jersey , going 4-0 with a 2.82 ERA in six career starts. He’s 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in two starts in San Francisco.

It was just like old times Wednesday at the Denver Broncos' training complex. DeMarcus Ware took Bradley Chubb aside and gave him some pointers in between drives at the team's mandatory minicamp.

"I've been doing it my whole career Vikings Cheap Jerseys ," said Ware, who returned to Denver as a pass-rushing consultant a year after retiring from the Broncos.

Ware will work with the linebackers and defensive linemen. Whereas most coaches "have like 90-hour weeks," Ware will only have to make occasional trips to Denver, where he only has to focus on technique, not scheme.

The reason most superstars don't go into coaching so fast is they haven't gotten their playing days out of their system.

"Oh, it's out," Ware insisted. "It's way out of my system. I'm Dad now and being able to spend some time with my kids. But now getting a couple of days here and there where I can go to the games and help the guys out, come to practice and maybe a little bit of training camp and throughout the season."

Ware still looks yoked and he joked he's still good for 25 snaps and a couple of sacks per game.

"But those days are done," he said. "I can still put the cleats on and help the guys out in other ways."

Ware played three seasons in Denver after a nine-year run in Dallas John Tavares Maple Leafs Jersey , where he left as the Cowboys' all-time sacks leader with 117. He added 21陆 to that total with the Broncos, whom he helped win Super Bowl 50.

Ware also helped out the Cowboys pass rushers this summer but said he had to choose between the two teams for a more substantial role "and this right here was my choice."

In Denver, he'll get to work with rookie Bradley Chubb, whom he called a "great phenomenal athlete," adding he's "one of those as they come in, they don't know the scheme yet but they have all the athleticism and the 'measureables' to be a great player."

He's also getting reacquainted with superstar Von Miller, whom Ware said continues to impress him.

Since Ware's retirement, Miller has "become a lot bigger leader on the team" and is a more vocal, Ware said.

OAKLAND Giancarlo Stanton Jersey , Calif. — The San Antonio Spurs hope to take a second step on what would be an unprecedented journey in the NBA playoffs when they once again face elimination in Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night.

No team has ever won a series in which it trailed 3-0, but the Spurs were able to stay alive at home with a 103-90 win in Game 4 on Sunday.

It was the first time in the Gregg Popovich era that the Spurs have as much as won one game after losing the first three of a series. They were swept in a similar situation last season by the Warriors in the Western Conference finals.

For the third game in a row, the Spurs will be coached Tuesday by assistant Ettore Messina, with Popovich having left the team after the death of his wife Erin last week.

The teams had different views as to what triggered the dramatic turnaround in Game 4. The Spurs had fallen behind at least 19 points in each of the first three games of the series but never trailed Sunday.

The Spurs cited improved shooting as one big difference. After connecting on a combined 20 of 83 (24 percent) on 3-pointers in the first three games of the series, San Antonio bombed in 15 of 28 (54 percent) in Game 4.

The result: A team that had been outscored 105-60 from beyond the arc for three games was able to turn the tables to the tune of 45-21 in the elimination game.

It was a team effort. LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol, Dejounte Murray and Manu Ginobili, who had combined to make just three 3-pointers in the first three games, dropped in a total of 10 when it mattered most.

“It was a do-or-die game Cheap Tremaine Edmunds Jersey ,” explained Aldridge, a predicament in which the Spurs also will find themselves in Game 5. “Make it happen or go home, and I think every guy played with that mentality, that focus, and we ended up getting it done.”

Meanwhile, the Warriors weren’t even getting shots time and again early in the loss. They committed seven turnovers in the game’s first 5 1/2 minutes, fell behind by as many as 10 points in the first quarter and never caught up.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn’t like seeing it live and enjoyed it even less when he got back to Oakland and watched it on tape.

“Lack of focus to start the game was really the key,” he noted. “More than energy, it was a sense of purpose. And I take a lot of the blame for that. I should know better as a coach of a team that’s been up 3-0 plenty times — you gotta know you’re going into the lion’s den …

“Looking back at the tape Raiders Elite Jerseys , I should have taken a timeout three minutes into the game and broken a clipboard. More than that, I should have had them prepared pregame for what was coming, and I didn’t feel like I did a good job at that.”

The Warriors had similar early-game issues at home during the regular season. It helped produce a record as good on the road (29-12) as at home (29-12).

Even with Sunday’s loss, the Warriors have beaten the Spurs in 11 of their last 13 meetings, including both regular-season and playoff games.

If the Warriors win Game 5, they would advance to face the New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference semifinals.

All Zach Miller knows is he’s not setting any limits on his recovery – and his doctors aren’t either.

Whether the Chicago Bears‘ tight end can play again after a gruesome injury last season nearly cost him his left leg still is to be determined.

”There has not been a definitive `You can never do this again Lamar Jackson Ravens Jersey ,”’ Miller said.

”That hasn’t been talked about. It’s approach this as you are planning to get back to where I can be myself and play football, and then when that time comes some of that is out of my hands. So, I’m just going to do as much as I can to get to that point and see what happens.”

The Bears placed Miller on the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday, one day after he signed a one-year contract. The deal was at least a goodwill gesture for a popular player who dislocated his knee trying to make a touchdown catch during the Week 8 game at New Orleans. He has undergone nine surgeries since then, but was walking on his own by late December.

Miller has been spending several hours a day at the team’s facility in rehab and meetings. Though he is not yet allowed to run, he can at least play with his children.

He’s also wearing a brace on his leg to hold up a dropped foot that was brought on by nerve damage. The nerve started functioning again in the past month, and Miller ”wanted to have a party” that day.

”I don’t think I’ve ever been mentally defeated – ever,” he said. ”I feel good. I’m happy with where I’m at and with my recovery. I’m happy with the steps that we’ve made. Positivity has been one of my qualities that’s helped get me through all this stuff. I’m in a good place right now.”

He said being around the team, having ”that brotherhood” and people who ”check in on me” helps.

Miller also praised chairman George McCaskey and an organization that has ”taken care of me since Day 1.”

”It’s tough for me to put it into words what it means to me, but very thankful and just grateful to be a part of this family,” he added.

Defensive end Akiem Hicks was glad to see the organization taking care of his teammate.

”That’s what it said to me, that they’re willing to make sure that we’re all right and give us the opportunity to get better and just loyalty,” he said.

Coach Matt Nagy called it ”without a doubt” the ”right thing to do.”

”I was happy for him,” Nagy said. ”We talked along with (general manager Ryan Pace) and it’s a good story and it needed to be done.”

Miller signed a futures contract with the Bears at the end of the 2013 season. After spending 2014 on injured reserve Sonny Gray Jersey , he started 28 of 33 games while making 101 receptions for 1,161 yards and 11 touchdowns the past three years. He also spent three seasons with Jacksonville.

A healthy Miller probably would have a big role on a team that invested heavily on the offense in the offseason in order to get the most out of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

The Bears hired an offensive-minded coach in Nagy to replace the fired John Fox and overhauled their receiving group, most notably signing Allen Robinson.

They believe bigger things are in store after four straight last-place finishes in the NFC North. And Miller would love to play in Nagy’s offense.

”That’s the bittersweet part of it, seeing first of all how awesome Coach Nagy is, not only as a guy but his football knowledge is unbelievable,” Miller said.

”Very cool, very collected, has a little bit of swagger to him, which is just fun to be around. Then you go to the football field and you look at the scheme that we have. It would be a lot of fun to be a part of. It’s not in the cards quite yet for me to take part in that.

”But as I sit and I watch and I see the weapons that we have and what we’ve added, the dynamic ability that we have as a collective group, positive future here and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash turned to bench coach Charlie Montoyo early in the game and mentioned how closely Jonathan Loaisiga resembled a former Yankees great and future Hall of Famer.

Cash just hopes this 23-year-old prospect doesn’t develop the same nasty stuff closer Mariano Rivera once featured.

Loaisiga pitched three-hit ball over five impressive innings to win his major league debut, and New York beat the Rays 5-0 on Friday night.

”There were some similarities,” Cash said while mentioning the cutter perfected by baseball’s career saves leader. ”Don’t give him any ideas, though. He doesn’t need to be pitching in the ninth inning anytime soon. Talented young kid. Very poised.”

Didi Gregorius homered off ex-Yankee Nathan Eovaldi Chukwuma Okorafor Color Rush Jersey , and Gary Sanchez broke out of a long slump with a three-run double in the eighth. Giancarlo Stanton had a sacrifice fly for New York, which improved the best record in the majors to 45-20.

Jonathan Holder, David Robertson, Dellin Betances and Adam Warren each worked an inning to finish the four-hitter.

The Rays have lost 17 of their last 21 at Yankee Stadium.

Loaisiga (1-0) was called up from Double-A Trenton to fill in for injured starter Masahiro Tanaka and arrived early in the clubhouse for the World Cup match between Spain and Portugal. At times, Loaisiga demonstrated the same moxie Cristiano Ronaldo showed when lining up a free kick that tied that game 3-all in the late stages.

The right-hander, who walked only four batters in 45 minor league innings this year, struggled a little with his command, issuing four walks while striking out six.

He walked the first batter in the first but escaped with an inning-ending double play. After a one-out walk, he fanned the next two batters.

In the third inning, he once again benefited from a double play.

With two outs in the fourth, the Rays loaded the bases but Loaisiga – the 15th major leaguer from Nicaragua – regrouped and calmed down after a visit from pitching coach Larry Rothschild and struck out Christian Arroyo behind the support of 45,112 roaring fans at Yankee Stadium.

”I think that’s the part of the game you have to learn how to manage,” Loaisiga said.

After returning last year from Tommy John surgery, Loaisiga became the first Yankees starter to win his first career game since Tanaka on April 4 Baltimore Ravens Jerseys Womens , 2014.

New York manager Aaron Boone considered extending Loaisiga past the fifth inning even though he eclipsed 90 pitches for the first time in his professional career – he threw more than 80 in four minor league starts this season. Only once has Loaisiga pitched seven innings, during a Dominican Summer League start in 2013.

But Boone felt fine with the 91-pitch effort he got from the rookie, lauding his confidence.

”I think everyone got a look at the stuff that this kid has and the arm he has and the easy delivery he has,” Boone said. ”I felt like mentally, emotionally, he’s equipped to handle this.”

Pitching against his former team, Eovaldi (1-2) allowed only two runs over the first seven innings until the Yankees chased him in the eighth. He was charged with five runs and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings during his first career outing against New York. He struck out five and walked one.

It was Eovaldi’s fourth outing since coming back from a second Tommy John surgery. The right-hander pitched for the Yankees from 2015-16, going 14-3 in 2015.

With one out in the eighth, Eovaldi gave up consecutive singles to Aaron Judge and Gregorius before issuing an intentional walk to Stanton. Johnny Venters struck out Greg Bird before Sanchez’s bases-loaded line drive to right field skipped past a diving Johnny Field to make it 5-0.

Sanchez, who began the night with just six hits in his past 60 at-bats, hopes that will spark him going forward.

”I did feel good being that I had a long time that I wasn’t contributing to the team batting like that, bringing in runs and getting on base with hits,” he said.

LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE

The Yankees traded RHP Chad Whitmer to Milwaukee for $59,000 in international signing bonus pool money. That raises New York’s available total to $5 Harrison Phillips Color Rush Jersey ,061,000 for the signing period that starts July 2. The 23-year-old Whitmer, a 10th-round pick in the 2017 draft, went 3-0 with a 3.79 ERA for the Gulf Coast Yankees last season in rookie ball.

SKIPPING LEVELS

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Loaisiga became the first Yankees player to make his major league debut without appearing in a Triple-A game since INF Ramiro Pena on April 6, 2009, at Boston. The last Yankees pitcher to accomplish the feat was Chase Wright on April 17, 2007, against Cleveland

UP NEXT

Yankees ace Luis Severino (9-2, 2.27 ERA) tries Saturday to improve to 6-0 at home this season. Tampa Bay is expected to open with right-handed reliever Ryne Stanek on another ”bullpen day.”
