Do you feel better http://www.lionsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-ricky-jean-francois-jersey , worse, or the same after the Lions’ loss to the Cowboys? Well, Victory Monday was fun while we had it. The Detroit Lions dropped their third game of the season on Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys in a tough loss on the road. We were nearly treated to yet another Matthew Stafford comeback victory, but the Lions defense couldn’t come up with a much-needed stop and we’re left with a 1-3 team heading into their first divisional matchup next week.So what do we think of this team? They’ve had one awful performance, one pretty bad game, and outstanding Week 3 where everything seemed to go right, and then a close loss against a Cowboys team that probably isn’t great Kenny Golladay Jersey , but may not be bad either. It’s hard to tag down an identity for this team considering how inconsistent they look from week to week, but 1-3 is obviously not the kind of record you want after four weeks. So today’s Question of the Day is:Do you feel better, worse or the same after Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys? My answer: A little worse. None of the changes we saw during Week 3 seemed to carry over from the previous week. The Lions offensive line reverted back to being unable to run block and pass block (partially due to the injury to T.J. Lang). The front seven made it clear why this is the worst run defense in the league by a large margin. The secondary proved your defensive backs are only as good as your weakest link.Overall, this team just showed it’s still very flawed. Matthew Stafford and Detroit’s phenomenal set of wide receivers are good enough to keep them in games like this, but performances like this are going to result in losses more often than not.I was hoping I’d see some improvements in the run defense department by now—even with Ezekiel Elliott on the opposite sidelines—but it appears those problems are here to stay. The season is far from lost this early in the year, but it’s quickly slipping away, and if the team can start showing improvements soon Authentic Kerryon Johnson Jersey , we may be talking about the draft by November. Your turn.Breaking down the call: Did the Detroit Lions get hosed on a defensive holding call? In true Detroit Lions fashion, the team worked their way back from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit, and for a moment, it looked like Matthew Stafford and company had added another historic comeback to the franchise’s history. Down just three points with over two minutes left, the San Francisco 49ers faced a third-and-2. Instead of running the ball, Kyle Shanahan dialed up a risky pass, and Lions rookie Tracy Walker made them pay Youth LeGarrette Blount Jersey , stepping in front of the pass intended for 49ers running back Matt Breida. The play set the Lions up for first-and-goal at the Niners’ 6-yard line. But the Lions never ended up getting the ball. There was a flag on the play. Lions cornerback Quandre Diggs was called for defensive holding, not only negating the play, but giving the 49ers a fresh set of downs to run another minute off the clock. Was the call right? Let’s break it down. Here’s another look at the play. Diggs is lined up in the slot over San Francisco tight end George Kittle:There is clearly some contact there, but it’s hard to see if there’s an actual hold happening there. Either way, it doesn’t seem like the foul is particularly egregious. I know time and situation doesn’t come into play when officiating a game, but we’re talking about the most pivotal play in the game here, and a receiver that wasn’t even looked at for the play. To make such a critical call in the game http://www.lionsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-christian-jones-jersey , you’d hope the foul was a little more blatant than that. Here are Diggs’ thoughts on the call:Regardless of the controversial call, the Lions still had an opportunity to win the game late. Despite the fresh set of downs for San Francisco, the Lions defense forced a punt, giving Detroit’s offense the ball back with 53 seconds left. They worked the ball to midfield before turning over the ball on downs. The Lions are ultimately to blame for the loss, but it sure doesn’t seem like the refs gave them any favors.
