NORRA joins Meyers Manx in Mexico 1000 Rally
George Bamford is no stranger to the octane world of racing, most recently competing in the NORRA Mexico 1000 Mile Rally with Meyers Manx. With the Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition Desert Racer, George’s eponymous company, Bamford Watch Department, teamed up with Chopard to create an alternative vision for watches.
The dagger-style hour and minute hands seen on the 2020 reference are now black, metallized, brushed and faceted. They project a new-age vibe, appearing somewhat stealthy in appearance but still effortlessly visible. The central sweeping seconds hand is black, counterweighted, and has a "cross-hatch" orange tip.

Each hour marker is finished in black, echoing the metalized and frosted look of the hour and minute hands. The hour markers appear unobtrusive against the matte black dial, while the Arabic numerals at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock take a bold step forward, outlining clear tones in orange.

The strap is equipped with a folding clasp and is made of DLC sandblasted stainless steel.

The balance has a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and the movement contains 40 jewels. Assuming the watch is fully wound, it will run automatically for approximately 60 hours. Finally, the automatic movement is chronometer-certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), ensuring that the watch has been independently scrutinized.
