Buccaneers record book watch: from laiyongcai92's blog

Week Three The Buccaneers Vita Vea Jersey , to the surprise of many, are 2-0 to start the season after picking up wins against the Saints and Eagles. They return to the field on Monday night for a primetime matchup against the Steelers. Here’s where things stand in the franchise record book heading into week three:Career Receiving YardsMike Evans is inching closer and closer to being No. 2 in receiving yards. With 83 yards against the Eagles on Sunday, he now has 4,809 yards. He needs 120 more to pass Kevin House (4,928) for that second spot.Career Receiving TouchdownsWith his touchdown against Philadelphia, Evans is now tied with Jimmie Giles for most receiving scores all-time (34). If he finds the end zone against Pittsburgh on Monday, he will own the franchise record very early in his fifth season. Career ReceptionsWith 10 catches on Sunday, Evans passed Mark Carrier for second all-time. He now sits at 326, which is 104 behind James Wilder (430) for the top spot. Rushing TouchdownsThe Bucs are still without a rushing touchdown this season, so Peyton Barber and Jacquizz Rodgers haven’t moved up at all. Barber is still tied for 25th in franchise history with four rushing scores, while Rodgers is close behind at 29th (three). With two on Monday, Barber would pull into a tie for 16th. Career TacklesWith six tackles last week, Lavonte David now has 559 in his career. He is slowly working his way toward third on that list, a spot currently held by Hardy Nickerson (680). For David, it’s all about the week-to-week progress in this category. Kwon Alexander’s six tackles against Philly moved him from 18th to 16th. He currently has 248, which means he needs six more to pass Martin Mayhew (253) for 15th.With his two tackles on Sunday, Gerald McCoy pulled into a tie for 24th with Brad Culpepper (204). He needs three more to pass Simeon Rice for 23rd.Career SacksMcCoy picked up his first sack of the season on Sunday Jameis Winston Jersey , which brought his career total up to 49 1/2. He is now 20 behind Simeon Rice for the franchise’s second spot.Career SafetiesLavonte David is in a first-place tie for career safeties with one.Career InterceptionsDavid is tied for 17th in career interceptions with 10. One more pulls him into a 15th-place tie with Jermaine Phillips and Jeremiah Castille, while two more brings him up to a 12th-place tie with Dwight Smith, Jeris White and Mark Robinson.Career Passes DefendedWith one pass breakup last week, David tied Brent Grimes for fifth in franchise history with 35. Both guys are 18 away from passing Aqib Talib for fourth. With Grimes on his way back from injury, he could be getting some separation from David.Career Fumble RecoveriesIn past versions of the record book watch, it was said that David needed one fumble recovery to tie for fifth all-time. While that is somewhat correct, it was still an oversight. That listing included players on both offense and defense, meaning the top four spots were occupied by three quarterbacks and a running back. Admittedly, that makes no sense.So... As far as defensive players are concerned, David is now tied with Ronde Barber for most fumble recoveries (12) after falling on the ball at the end of Sunday’s win against the Eagles. He needs one more to hold the franchise record.Career Forced FumblesDavid is two forced fumbles away from a second-place tie with Simeon Rice.Career Games PlayedMonday will be McCoy’s 112th career game with the Bucs, which ties him with Donald Penn for 22nd. Demar Dotson is about to play his 103rd game with Tampa Bay, which will get him one game away from tying Hardy Nickerson (104) for 31st.David is set for his 94th game, which ties him for 46th with Kevin House. Julio Jones remains in coach Dan Quinn's good graces even after missing the opening day of the Atlanta Falcons' mandatory minicamp.Quinn said Tuesday he thought Jones, who missed voluntary offseason workouts , would participate in the minicamp. The coach said he found out Monday that Jones would skip the minicamp.Quinn wouldn't share details of his conversation with Jones but said "Sometimes football and business intersect and that's OK and that happens a lot."Jones has three years remaining on his five-year, $71.3 million deal with $47 million in guaranteed money but could soon have the deal tweaked. Quinn said the team is "right in the middle" of talks with Jones, a five-time Pro Bowl selection.Quinn has emphasized "brotherhood" and making sure players do everything as a team. Players stood together as a team on the sideline during the national anthem for all games after two players kneeled in protest early in the 2017 season.Could Jones' absence hurt the Falcons' unity?"No Carlton Davis Jersey ," Quinn said. "I recognize the question, for sure. Do we want everybody here all the time? Hell yeah, like all the time. ... What I'd say is if you ask to a man, the guy is a hell of a teammate and the time he spends here, the way he mentors people, how hard he plays, there is plenty of brotherhood in Julio."Receiver Mohamed Sanu said he and other players were not impacted by Jones' absence."Whether he's present or not, we were just focused on what we have to do today," said Sanu, the team's No. 2 receiver behind Jones.Jones, 29, remains one of the league's top receivers. He earned his fourth straight Pro Bowl berth last season when he had 88 catches for 1,444 yards. It was his fourth straight season with at least 80 receptions and 1,400 receiving yards.Jones' salary cap figure of $12.9 million for 2018 ranks seventh among NFL receivers, well behind recent deals signed by Tampa Bay's Mike Evans ($18.252 million in 2018) and Cleveland's Jarvis Landry ($15.5 million).Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said Monday he has been in talks with Jones and Jones' agent, Jimmy Sexton.Sexton did not return a message from The Associated Press.Jones' holdout comes after the Falcons made quarterback Matt Ryan the league's top-paid player this offseason with a five-year extension that could be worth $150 million.Quinn said he was not disappointed in Jones' decision to miss minicamp because Jones remained in constant communication and explained why his plans changed."Sometimes circumstances change and as long as players communicate with me on why circumstances change, then I never am disappointed as long as communication with me is very clear O. J. Howard Jersey ," Quinn said. "... The things that jam me up are when people don't communicate."Quinn wouldn't say if Jones will be fined for missing the first day of the three-day minicamp.Without Jones on the field, Ryan's top targets included Sanu, rookie first-round pick Calvin Ridley and Justin Hardy. Like Jones, Ridley played at Alabama. An undrafted rookie, Christian Blake, from Northern Illinois, reached up to make an impressive catch over the middle."All those guys, Calvin, Christian Blake, it was good to see those guys make plays and do what they do," Sanu said.Quinn praised the rookies' speed and said the class "has a chance to be an excellent one."NOTES: The team waived S Quincy Mauger, who spent his 2017 rookie season on injured reserve with a knee injury. He was an undrafted free agent from Georgia. ... RB Devonta Freeman, who was slowed by a sprained right knee late last season, appeared to be fully recovered on his runs with the first-team offense.
