Hey guys, welcome to Maplestory Mesos, today we will learn more about the impact of Test Server, as most of us know, when there was a new upgrade for the sport, it would be published on Test Servers, and a few players would be choosen randomly to check this upgrade in advance!

The question is not how I would feel about not being picked. The question is what is better for the sport. And I think picking testers at random would be a mistake.

Last time we'd Tespia, years ago, the testers were picked at random. As a result, the huge majority weren't interested in analyzing, but just in fooling about with the auto-leveling and free gear offered by the host. And just a few were really testing.

The end result was a complete failure and Tespia being shut off for years.

We don't want a repeat of this. The simple fact that there is an NDA involved now - that a legally binding contract you need to sign to your actual ID - gives me hope that Nexon is a lot more serious about participant testing, this moment.

TBH I do not understand why everyone is so excited to enter Tespia. Well, honestly, I really do know. "Get to see the new content before everyone else." But that is not what Tespia needs. That's not what the game requirements. And if you think about it, cheapest Maplestory 2 Mesos is of little use to you (generic you) too. So you get to view the new content, so what? You're not allowed to tell anyone about it. Playing it doesn't give you anything for your real account - you're going to need to play it all over again to the live servers once it's released. And meanwhile, for "testing", you may have to run it through over and over while it crashes or glitches or behaves strangely, attempt to figure out whether it's a bug or planned, and write out detailed bug reports galore, with screenshots and movies and stuff. Does that seem like fun? It's an actual job that want to get some mesos as reward, since a lot of it is quite dull and bothersome.
