CME Group Paves Way for Ethereum Futures with New Pricing Index
Yesterday, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) announced that it has partnered with the UK startup Crypto Facilities to create an Ether Reference Rate and Ether Real-Time Index. According to an official CME group announcement, the new feature will provide a standardized reference rate and spot price index. The CME Group's Managing Director, Tim McCourt said:
"The Ether Reference Rate and Real-Time Index are designed to meet the evolving needs of this marketplace. Providing price transparency and a credible price reference source is a key development for users of Ethereum.”
