Restored MetaMask’s Android App ‘Upon Careful Consideration’
The team behind MetaMask, an
Ethereum wallet and decentralized application browser, has revealed Google
restored its Android app “upon careful consideration,” meaning MetaMask
mobile is once again available on the Google Play store.
The tech giant banned the Ethereum wallet from its app
store last week, citing its policy for banning cryptocurrency mining apps,
despite MetaMask offering no mining services. At the time, it even rejected
an appeal.
As the app has now been
restored, MetaMask noted it’s more “resilient” and that the experience made
its community “stronger.” The app is estimated to have over 260,000 users,
and has been impersonated on Google Play a few times in the past.
