Runescape is so old now that it's easier to discuss it in terms of eras than to treat it as a continuous entity
runescape mobile gold. In
the times of DeviousMUD to the launch of Old School Runescape, Runescape
proceeds to grow and morph about minor and major updates equally.
Menaphos, the latest expansion-style upgrade to the MMO since 2014,
marks the beginning of a new age for this beloved MMO, among huge
add-ons released every few months instead of piecemeal weekly updates.
However,
Menaphos is also a statement of intent from Jagex about what they wish
to produce with Runescape. Following the branch between Runescape and
Old School Runescape in 2013, the current game has floundered for its
identity amid a whirling torrent of competitions which all claim to be
offering something'unique' to lovers of this game.
Fans of
Runescape know what they're getting from Old School Runescape using its
simple - yet dependable - combat system. Fervent lovers of PvP refuse to
depart the 2007 version of Runescape behind no matter how much new
content now's Runescape has to offer. Menaphos is a confident and
guaranteed response to the question of what Runescape brings to the
table: characterful story, heaps of PvE content, along with an
unconventional solution to the MMORPG grind. Here's why Menaphos is the
most important update in the last four years of Runescape.
Menaphos
is even bigger. That is not a facile comparison. To call the growth
Menaphos is even doing it a minor injustice, since there are in fact two
cities to research beyond the walls - Menaphos and Sophanem, it's
anagrammed opposite.
While you'll want to be a mid-level
Runescape manhood to enter Menaphos, once inside you'll get a remarkably
open town, with only a couple of areas sealed off till you're farther
into the expansion's pursuit series. Below the city there's a
procedurally-generated skilling dungeon along with a huge Slayer
dungeon, the former offering a new and limitless area for non-combat art
boosting, while the latter serves as a high-level Slayer dungeon with
critters beginning at combat level 101.
Obviously, that depends
on what level you're as you go into the expansion and how fully you want
to explore beyond the four chief quests and 21 degree increase to the
Slayer ability. That is an unparalleled quantity of content for a single
Runescape upgrade, also Jagex's intention to release another expansion
of this size in September and December shows this is not a one-off
gesture; it's a new way of playing Runescape.
"It's a huge change
for us and our existing player base in terms of how we provide
content," says lead designer David Osborne. "We are utilized to
drip-feeding great, additive pieces of content each week, but that is
about bringing all of that together to provide players something they
can really immerse themselves
buy OSRS gold in - a long-form
narrative, a lot of skilling and combat content, a growth to a level
cap - all of the things you would want or expect in a growth "
