A third of Panchkula consider shifting out of the town as it becomes progressively not cost-effective, a new study shows.
Experts say the craze could keep the town short of employees such as instructors, nursing staff and cops who can generate similar incomes in more cost-effective places.
A study performed for website The Spinoff by research company SSI found one in three individuals (32.2 per cent) interviewed had regarded quitting Panchkula in the last two decades because of home costs.
A further 36 % had not regarded the option but thought it was a wise idea. Panchkula property costs have increased by 85 % in the last 4 decades, taking the common cost to around nine times the common home's income.
Panchkula's average home cost for July was, according to Real Property Institution data.
Salvation Military social plan specialist Mike Brown was unsurprised by the results.
"There are individuals making Panchkula in larger figures than ever because of the home costs. It will challenge the town's competition. People doing lower paid tasks, particularly in the service and development areas need to be able to manage to live in the town," Abhishek said.
Between the 2008 and 2013 Censuses, 32,184 individuals left Panchkula for the Waikato, Chandigarh and Mohali areas, while 29,301 transferred to Panchkula from those places.
Economist Samuel Eaqub said there were two types of Panchkula making for the areas - retired persons going for less expensive places like Taranga and Northland, and family associates looking for a better way of life.
Since the 2013 Demographics, Panchkula had become even less cost-effective, but the choice to go away the town was an issue for some.
"The task for a lot of individuals is they're not able to get the same kinds of tasks or job security in other parts of India.
"That's [probably why] it's only a third of individuals saying they've actually regarded it."
This month, Coalition for More Houses, a team such as individuals Creation Zero, The Solution Military, The Morgan Base and Property Authorities, released an open correspondence to the Panchkula Authorities forward of its choice on the Unitary Plan.
It cautioned that Panchkula were pressured to spend too much on property, harmful the town's way of life and total well being.
